Ep 7, Season 2
Fear Itself
Synopsis: A fearsome threat has returned to Gotham after years of absence on the eve of Halloween. Kate rushes to stop their plans while trying to find Ryan Wilder, who she fears might do the unthinkable. Meanwhile, The Crows, including Sophie, investigate Arkham, trying to uncover a secret. All the while, Alice goes soul searching.
Disclaimer: Another 11k, good job me. I thought this would be shorter. Seriously, warning for handling Scarecrow/fear toxin scenarios. It's not too extreme, in fact, might be teme, but I have been feeling pretty pissy, warning for any unpleasantness.
Ryan wasn't clear on where she was, or frankly, what was happening. All that was clear to her was seeing her mom. Alive, in the hospital acting as a nurse looking precisely as she did that final night, she saw her.
"Mom?" She asked, getting closer; the hospital started to have an alarm blaring.
Once her mother turned around, she had a slash across her face. Then a sizeable sharp weapon came right through her pairing in her stomach. Ryan rushed to her side while a demonic-looking force approached them closer and closer. Mom bled all over Ryan. She wasn't able to help her.
"Ryan!" Her girlfriend, who she knew as Whisper, was shaking her awake.
She sprung up from her sleep in a full sweat and breathing heavily.
"It's been a while since a night terror, heard you call for your mom again," She said softly, snuggling against her kissing her cheek.
"Yeah, it's fine. Just a nightmare, was thinking more back about that night she died. Going to work for Kate Kane seems to have brought back old memories."
She made a curious face. "Why? You're just helping her improve the community? Right?" She questioned.
"Yeah, basically. Mom would've wanted to see this, her home a better place. Things changing for the better at last. Smiles in a part of the city where smiling would get you robbed, assaulted, heck, killed. She died to the worst of Gotham. A monster dressed like a scarecrow trying to hurt people, I guess."
Whisper got in Ryan's face, going nose to nose. "Look in my eyes, you're safe. That bastard can't hurt you anymore. I love you, I'm here for you." She held onto Ryan, and they both laid back down.
Elsewhere, things were not as well. A dinner was operating into the night and felt a little old school with how it looked. An officer just starting their shift entered briefly for some coffee to keep them awake into the long night. Didn't work out like they wanted.
"One coffee, please, Marge, another long night," He said, then noticed the dinner began to warp around him. "The hell?" He questioned, pulling his gun.
The kind waitress morphed into a monster that looked undead and lunged at him. Couldn't get a shot off in time before being smashed into a table. Everyone in the dinner began losing their minds seeing each other as horrific nightmares. One person accidentally tossed another person out of the dinner's large window, which made all the people inside rush outside, seeing people looking inside, not understanding what was happening, but noticing gas coming out of there. Police arrived shortly and managed to subdue all the people affected.
Adding to matters, a large screen nearby revealed the culprit. Scarecrow. "This is the first of many random attacks. Your greatest fears will be coming for you all. Nobody will be safe. Once I'm done with my grand return, you will all understand the true nature of fear its self," Crane declared, wearing his terrifying costume.
Batwoman
Staring/Cast
Everyone seen in season 1 or 2, or etc, is the same, including Ruby Rose as Kate Kane.
Vanessa Morgan is Ryan Wilder
Stephanie Beatriz is Renee Montoya.
Grace Gummer is Whisper.
? is Scarecrow. (Idk lol)
Jodi Lyn O'Keefe is "Mystery woman." (She'll have a name in this chapter)
Batwoman arrived at ground zero for his first attack. The dinner was now ruined. Fortunately, The Crows were not around, just the GCPD and Renee Montoya, who was likely itching more than ever for assistance right about now with a classic madman's return to Gotham.
"You're here, thank goodness for that," Renee remarked, grateful.
Kate looked around. "Scarecrow. Have you ever had to deal with him before?"
She shook her head, frowning. "Never dealt with him during these days when Batman was around, heard about crimes committed by him. It was nasty with him around, creepy guy. Gotham's not seen him in 5 years. He was one of the most fearsome foes. At least we've got ways to counter the toxin. After the fact, mind you, unless everyone in Gotham wears gas masks, everyone is at risk of exposure. Of course, he'd return on the eve of Halloween."
Batwoman looked considered. "You seem afraid of this guy. I'm aware of one crime he committed," She remarked, sighing. "How did he even escape Arkham without any notice? Question for later, have you found any clues?" She then asked, looking around inside the dinner.
Montoya shook her head. "Haven't spotted anything, got our best people down here, and so far we've discovered the likely picked this dinner for the public, but isolated chamber for his torment. Exposed the gas on remote through the vents. Must have been planned ahead of time."
"Have they searched the roof? Back alleyway?" She asked, looking up.
"Back yes, top, not yet. You're faster, and I trust you. So check away and be safe."
She nodded and grappled up. Batwoman started looking around, finding a canister. One with his signature creepy looking face attached.
"How ominous, Luke, does this canister look rigged to blow?" She asked, sharing what she was able to see.
He looked at it for a moment through her suit, which had a camera where he could view it if she turned it on. "If I were you, I wouldn't touch it. Your breathing is exposed. Who knows what might happen if you breathe that crap in."
"I'm not afield. It wouldn't affect me," Kate declared confidently.
"Yeah, Bruce thought the same thing. Amazingly, he was able to fight past it with his will power each time exposed. Took the cure a couple times," Luke expressed.
"Sure, I'd top it, but just to be safe. I'm going to wait for professions to deal with this. Something tells me Alice has her hooks into this creep. I find her, I find him. And considering him being back, I need to check on Ryan, got a bad feeling," She expressed, heading back down to inform Renee what she learned.
Elsewhere, Jacob Kane had heard about Scarecrow's return to Gotham and brought everyone together to give a speech.
"A madman from Gotham's past has returned. Jonathan Crane, aka The Scarecrow. He was one of the most dangerous threats to this city, all to that damned fear toxin. Even if it's a copycat, considering he should be locked in Arkham, this is a serious threat. We can't take this lightly! I want everyone on this! Look back at all his crimes, could be a clue of where he'll strike next!" He exclaimed, and everyone got to work.
Jacob walked over to Sophie. "I need you, Pennyworth and Proctor to get to Arkham, figure out why this guy's on the loose. Or even if he is."
"Julia is watching Marry right now, sir," Sophie replied.
"Oh right, of course. Tell her to get Mary somewhere safe, somewhere not public, somewhere where she'd not get exposed to any gas!" He exclaimed.
"Right, I'm not sure how easy it'd be getting that down, but I know she'd be able to do it. Somehow," Sophie expressed confidently in her and not knowing the Batcave would be perfect for that description.
Sophie began calling Julia and Proctor followed along, nodding confidently to the commander about this assignment for some reason.
Alice stormed into Scarecrow's temporary hideout, quite disappointed with the current plans underway. "This can't we all? Just attacking a few random places to make people panic? That's just pathetic! We need to think bigger!" She exclaimed in his face.
"You shouldn't underestimate his plans, you'll see. If you'd ju-" One of his new henchpeople began saying before being cut off.
Alice scoffed and laughed. "Wait? All I've been doing is waiting! My life is nothing but waiting! Waiting for my family to save me from monsters like him! Waiting for revenge, waiting for my Mouse to be freed, my helpers to assist with my brilliant plans of old, and so very much more. So, when I worked with the master of fear, I was expecting Gotham to be brought to its knees far faster! It's been three weeks since our plans began the creation process!"
"Like they said, Alice, wait. This is only the beginning, a little taste, a little appetizer at a fancy restaurant working up to a large meal that will be satisfying once you have it," Scarecrow replied calmly, not looking over at her focused intently on his work.
Alice just walked off once more to be alone. "Oh, how I miss having someone to speak with. Dodgson, random minions, my dear Mouse and that idiot Hush. Now I'm a madwoman, speaking all to herself. Alice, in that charming story, wasn't ever this alone." She said to herself, frowning.
Meanwhile, Kate switched out of her Batwoman suit. She went to see Ryan, who she figured would be furious upon seeing Scarecrow. Changing cut into this time, but Whisper would likely have been around and made some connections upon seeing Batwoman showing Ryan's concern. This hunch was correct, as instead of Ryan, all found was a concerned Whisper on edge.
"Why are you here, Ms. Kane?" She asked skeptically.
"I was here to check on Ryan, the news spoke about The Scarecrow's return, and I'm aware of what happened to her mother. Figured she'd not be doing great with the prospect of him being around again," She expressed.
She frowned and looked away. "Yeah, you'd be right. Can tell she's struggling, she said it was fine, but I know better than that."
"Do you think she'd try anything dangerous? I'd not tell the cops, I swear," Kate said genuinely and increased her worry.
"Why do you care so much? You're a billionaire. You could get hundreds of people working on bettering the community. Something is mighty fishy about you. What are you intending on doing with Ryan, huh?" She asked, quite paranoid.
"I want to help her. I believe she can do great things, that's it. I'm trying to be more hands-on with people that work for me. Keeping it low and paying close attention to them, trying to get the best out of them. That's all, simple as that. Ms. Whisper."
She still looked skeptical, not knowing what to think from the looks of it. "My name isn't Whisper, just a practical nickname turned into my name. So please, call me Ms. A'Daire, not that. I'll trust you. Only cause I'm worried about Ryan and two heads better than one, right?" She sighed heavily. "I'm fairly sure Ryan wants to kill him. She took a gun. Never used it before, so I can only assume the worst. Once she saw that guy, she didn't say a word taking it and leaving in a hurry. No idea where she'd be heading, besides waiting for him to appear somewhere."
"Great, wonderful, could you think of anywhere she'd go? I've got friends who'll keep silent if they find her," Kate said.
"She took her van, can't miss it. I'll write down the license plate, just, please. Find her and bring her home. Or else, I'll not be taking it well if she's hurt. Do we understand each other? Ms. Kane?" She asked threateningly, getting closer.
Kate smirked, not threatened. "Of course, Ms. A'Daire. Promise I'll get Ryan safe and sound. You'll be my first call once I find her," She declared confidently.
Kate soon left and suited back up as Batwoman getting ready to head off into the night once more. "Tell me you found her Luke, A'Daire seems quite on edge and frankly, so am I. Ryan seems tough, but I don't know if she could survive an encounter with him unprepared. Something tells me a gun won't be enough to stop him," She expressed.
"Yeah, your right. I'm searching all over Gotham for that van. It seems unique, shouldn't be much longer finding it. Unless she ditched it."
Batwoman started up her bike. "Don't you even dare say that going to make me nervous here," She joked.
"You and nervous don't fit in the same sentence," Luke joked back.
"True, most of the time. Right now, I really am concerned if she dies or if she does kill him. Still, don't believe your comments about Jason Todd and her being similar." She said, driving now, not going anywhere in particular.
"Well, I did forget to mention some parts. Like when Jason came back and started killing criminals after getting a taste for blood. That's the barest version of that story," Luke explained, sounding skeptical to say more. "Maybe I'll share more once you get back and have this mess solved. Mary is getting dropped off her for safety, so it would be best sharing with both of you at once.
She ignored much of what he said, fixating on the part about Jason. "You told me Jason was dead? How and when did that happen?" She questioned.
"Uh, long story. My point of mentioning this was, well, how did you feel when you killed Cartwright? We never really talked more about that."
Batwoman pulled over on the side of the road. "I'm not keen on talking about that."
"It's important, certainly right now. You might understand what she's going through right now, and that could help," He suggested.
"Right, when I find her, I'll speak to her about it."
"You're not going to tell me anything, still are you?" He asked, sighing, knowing her response or rather lack of one as she didn't speak anymore, driving again.
"Anyways, to get your mind off that and while my program, err, friend's program, I guess searches for her van, just wanted to share something."
"Which is?"
"Remember that Chameleon guy from, what? 3-4 weeks ago? Well, he's been officially given another name. The Sneak! Seems better. Not sure where it came from, likely somewhere smart. Can't believe I didn't think of it!" Luke exclaimed.
"Okay, sounds like you're telling me you're never allowed to name any villains I come across then, right?" Kate asked, laughing a little.
"I mean, yeah. Think I'll leave it to professionals from now on."
"Great, happy to have had that shared," She remarked.
Sophie, Julia and Proctor reached Arkham Asylum. It was a dreadful place that was never a joy to see. Something about it seemed evil, demonic, cursed. Like it spawned more madness and destruction than it cured. GCPD appeared to have arrived before them, which made sense. Likely had the same thinking of wondering how Scarecrow escaped without anyone knowing.
Commissioner Montoya was inside already. She glanced over at the three Crows. "Are you three planning on being more helpful than your boss?" She asked while looking at paper records closely.
"Yes, Commissioner, that's the plan. Jacob didn't explicitly say not to work with you. So shouldn't be an issue. What have you found?"
She sighed. "Not much, which is the issue. Turns out Crane escaped not when Alice caused that riot-like we started thinking, but almost 5 years ago."
"What? How the bloody hell is that possible? Batman took him down hard and put him in Arkham close to his disappearance," Julia said, jumping into the conversation.
"Seems like without Batman, Gordon, Arkham wasn't under enough supervision from people that gave a damn. Doctor Butler was put in charge after the last guy was arrested and sent to Blackgate by GCDP, Batman, in 2014. If he was still alive, I'd be having a lot of questions for him."
Sophie looked concerned. "Could any of the staff know anything? Someone must know something here, right?"
Renee shrugged. "Starting to question people now." She sighed. "Staff won't talk, and the inmates can't be trusted, considering most of them are insane. Or seem that way. The temporary doctor running this place isn't being any help. We're in a mess here, agent Moore, one I don't know how to fix."
"It's truly incompetent of this city's officials not keeping a better eye on Arkham. A place that's housed many monsters, many that treat this place like a revolving door! What a disgrace," agent Proctor remarked silently out of earshot of the commissioner and Sophie, but not Julia, who approached. At the same time, Sophie followed Renee, which made him raise an eyebrow when noticing. Before he could follow, Julia stopped him momentarily.
"You seem to dislike Gotham, at least some discussions made here," She said, pointing out the obvious from what he stated.
"Yeah, what of it? This city doesn't rely on those who actually want to help it, just corrupted money bags. Let criminals like Batwoman do our job, or Batman before her."
Julia scoffed. "You should have more trust in Batwoman. She's done a lot for Gotham, and trust me, Batman practically held this city together."
"And then he left," he replied cockily in nature.
She didn't respond to that. "Should stay with the group, yeah?"
"Exactly what I was thinking, Agent Pennyworth," Proctor expressed, walking away. Simultaneously, Julia switched her eyes to the side, noticing someone was watching them, but couldn't identify just who it was.
Elsewhere in Gotham. "Batwoman, I've spotted Ryan's van. You're relatively close, actually. Looks abandoned, just like feared. Sent you the location now!" Luke exclaimed.
"Hate being in the Narrows, got a bad feeling about why she'd stop at a building in this part of Gotham," Kate remarked, zooming along the road as fast as possible. "Can you get eyes in there? Or a general location? Anything?"
"Uh, yeah. Maybe?" Luke replied, unsure.
"Almost there, feel extremely on edge here. Not like this in the slightest," She remarked, pulling up on the apartment. "Found her van, no Ryan. The door is kicked, she's here. Or at least was." Kate then heard yelling from inside the building, "Crap. I'm going inside, got a couple guys down. Bags on their heads, similar in design to Scarecrow. Looks like he's got henchpeople. They're alive, a good sign." She continued saying silently while going upstairs, entering an apartment with the door open. It was the source of Ryan's sound and location, torturing another one of seemingly Scarecrow's people. As Kate walked in, she clearly had shot the guy in the lag and was getting really angry about not learning anything.
"What are you doing!?" Kate exclaimed, unhappy, staring at Ryan intensely.
"Get out of here! You don't want any part of this!" She exclaimed, pointing her gun on the criminal's head, as a hostage from the looks of it.
"If you do this, you're no better than Scarecrow," Batwoman declared, stepping closer.
Ryan scoffed. "Please, Scarecrow is a brainless monster, only seeking death and destruction. I'm nothing like him. When I kill him, Gotham will be a bit of a better place."
"If you kill him, or this guy, then the darkness will take over. Believe me, you won't like that feeling of taking a life. It's a horrible one."
She wasn't sure how to respond, instead of kicking the criminal over and starting to run, heading for the fire escape. Batwoman wasn't going to let her and began chasing after Ryan, stopping her dead in her tracks when trying to get out the window. Pulling the young woman back inside and to the floor.
"I won't let you do this. Killing isn't the way. Work with me, together we can stop him the right way," Kate pleaded.
She glared and tossed down a smoke bomb kicking Kate back with the full force of her body weight, which wasn't that much, but enough to knock her back, giving enough time to escape. Batwoman got up and chased after her but couldn't spot her. "Dammit." Then she processed to rush towards Ryan's van, figuring she'd try driving away. This wasn't correct, as she was nowhere to be seen.
"Luke, tell me please, you have eyes on Ryan!" She exclaimed, continuing to search the surrounding area.
"Yeah, she just hotwired a car, super fast. She's gone. Trying to track the car now."
Batwoman was frustrated and unsure of what to do now.
Meanwhile, Alice had left Scarecrow's hideout. She was a bit directionless, it seemed like Scarecrow had ignored her plans, and she was entirely missing her Mouse. Along with wondering if it was a bluff about stealing his body. Figured she'd return to the scene of the crime, do some investigating with her own eyes.
What have we here? She thought, finding an outline where his body was. No, no. It's true, someone did find him. Took him away, could it be Crane? Mind games? Someone else entirely? Why? Someone wants to ruin my wonderland dreams even further than he did. How many defeats must be afforded? Sigh, perhaps Crane could still turn this city into a mad wonderland. I know it's bordering on the edge of it. If only you were here to see it, Mouse. She thought to herself, then spotted a homeless person down in the filthy sewage systems along with her. "You there, have you seen any shady characters around here over the past fewish months?"
The homeless person scoffed. "Maybe, I have, maybe I haven't. What's it to ya?"
"Oh, trying to solve a mystery, I would very much appreciate it if you could answer my question easily. Wouldn't want to gut you. Won't help the smell down here!" She exclaimed, pulling her knife and approaching them slowly.
"Wait! Please don't! I-I see shady people all that time! Got all sorts of weirdos down here, ones who look demonic, one who could communicate with rats and formed an army. Months ago, some creeps were pulling out a dead body, a one with scars all over his face. Looked horrible!"
Alice lit up. "My Mouse! You saw him! Who took him! What did they look like?"
"Th-they all had masks an-and, yeah, hazmat suits! It was weird, even for Gotham. It felt I-I-I can't explain," The man expressed, backing up slightly.
Alice shook her head. "Explain better! I'm not too happy about my family member being taken away by strange people! My unhappiness won't bode well for you!" She declared sinisterly and mistakenly turned her back, looking back where she killed Mouse for betraying her trust, something deeply regretted. When turning back around, the man-made a break for it. She stomped her feet, angered, but wasn't sure of what to do. Her phone then rang, it was Crane. She wasn't happy about getting a call, expressly from him. "What do you want now?"
"I'm starting up my next attack, figured you should know."
"You deal with it, I'm dealing with my own problem," She replied, hanging up.
Batwoman continued driving and waiting for Ryan to make herself known. Do something, slip up and give a trial. Matters were made worse off as Kate's worry increased as Whisper A'Daire called. "Great," Kate remarked.
"Have you found Ryan yet?" She asked worriedly.
"No. I'm sorry," She replied dowry.
The woman sighed heavily. "I'm going to my current employer for the favour of helping in this search. I Hope I didn't have to. Feel like this won't lead to good results."
"Just wait, Ms. A'Daire. I'll find her, it's not worth risking yourself or working with bad people. Something tells me Ryan wouldn't be happy about that," Kate expressed.
She scoffed. "You don't know Ryan, I've known her for over a year and have spent almost every day with her. I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, shouldn't have even waited, she might be dead!" She exclaimed and sounded like she threw her phone.
"Great job Kate. Sometimes I really don't feel like a people person," Kate remarked to herself, groning, disappointed in not being able to find Ryan, felt like a clock was ticking faster and faster.
Elsewhere, Renee and Sophie started speaking with some of the Arkham staff members who had interactions with Crane or at least we're meant to.
"How exactly did you not know what Johnathan Crane looked like? One of the most dangerous super criminal's Gotham has ever seen till this point!?" Montoya asked, bewildered by the staff's incompetence.
"Well, I mean, look at him! Looks like a twin!" One of the orderlies stated, referring to the prisoner they thought was Crane for all these years.
"And he was drooling into a cup practical for five years, so we figured he couldn't have posed any threat!" Another exclaimed.
"Doctor Crane was a genius, it's not a surprise he was able to trick us all." Yet another doctor expressed.
Sophie eyed the doctor. "You seem impressed by Crane in your tone, doctor O'Shay? How about you elaborate on that?" She crossed her arms and motioned away the other staff as they seemed useless.
"Not really. Just started interning here a couple years before his mental breakdown. Guess y'all wouldn't remember that he used to be a doctor here, seemed to help people overcome their fears. Now, you know," O'Shay said defensively.
"Could you give insight on him? Maybe you helped him escape, huh? You worked here around then that would've happened. I'm assuming, doctor," Montoya said, getting up in her face, sensing some bad vibes off her.
"Your implication isn't appreciated, Commissioner Montoya."
Before she could question more, her phone began ringing, which made her step away from going outside of the room to check what was happening.
Sophie continued speaking to the doctor. "How long have you been working here? What kinds of things have you seen? Must have seen Crane while he was locked up here, right?" She questioned, highly suspicious of the woman.
"Almost 15 years officially. So yes, I did work here while Crane was incarnated. Felt like it was best staying away from him, you know, saw him as a mentor before his insanity clearly took over," She said, frowning.
Her skepticism didn't fade. "You know, I've heard his intensity plees were to get put into Arkham. Wonder why someone would want that?"
"Blackgate is a dangerous place for regular people, even more, the mentally ill." She responded and looked away for a moment. "Have you checked his old hideout yet? Apparently, he had years ago secretly installed inside. Might be worth a check-up, no?" She said with a bit of a creepy smile.
"Right." Sophie nodded her head slowly. "Wait here, I need to talk with my people." She declared, walking out.
Meanwhile, outside the room, Renee was speaking with one of her officers. "What's going on?" She asked.
"We've got a positive sighting of The Scarecrow at Gotham General! Trying to get everyone out of the building, he's got back up and has gassed parts of the building! We need backup! A lot!" The officer exclaimed.
"It'll come." She hung up, going on her long-range walkie-talkie. "Turn the bat signal to Gotham General, right now!"
"Yes, Commissioner Montoya!"
She already turned on the bat signal, expecting another attack soon and figured turning it towards the location of trouble would work in this case.
"Knew we'd need Batwoman. Hope she'll get there soon enough." She expressed to herself out loud as Sophie approached with Julia and Proctor behind her.
"Scarecrow is attacking!? Shouldn't we get a move on!?" Proctor asked.
"Batwoman can handle this and my officers," Renee replied confidently.
Sophie nodded. "She's right. We should stay put and investigate here. Just got a lead. From that doctor and I think we should get reinforcements here, I got a bad feeling, alright?" She declared, having more say than him.
"Batwoman shouldn't be trusted this much, relying on a vigilante is a mistake. One your regret one-day Commissioner Montoya," Proctor said in an intimidating manner.
"Not wise to speak that way to me. I'm not forgiving of people that try passing off threats. Not the way to get my mind changed on matters," She replied, not intimidated by the man and left.
Sophie and Julia geared judgingly at him.
"I'm calling for backup, take a moment to get your head on straight," Sophie said, shaking her head at him.
"Fine, I'll be right back," He replied, walking away and, once out of sight, got on the phone almost immediately. "Commander, Batwoman is heading to Gotham General to intercept Scarecrow. Something tells me agent Moore was going to neglect that fact."
Jacob, back at his office, nodded. "Good having someone I can trust. Keep me posted on all of her actions. Good work," Kane said, frowning at not being able to trust Sophie. "I'm sending units to deal with that madman and frankly going myself." He declared, hanging up and walking out of his office on edge.
Meanwhile, Batwoman continued looking around and noticed the bat signal being moved in a different direction. "Curious. Shouldn't start saying that. Luke, is anything happening right now?" She asked, heading towards where the signal was now pointing.
"Checking now, I have no idea."
"Great help," Kate joked, zooming towards the location, which was Gotham General, as fast as possible. Getting closer, she could see the police outside. "It's-"
"Yeah, I see now. The Scarecrow is inside with hostages. And like we thought, he's got some minions. You got a gasmask, right? To you know, block the toxin?" He remarked.
"Like I said. Don't need it and don't have time to get one. I'm telling you, not afraid," Kate declared confidently, getting off her bike sneaking into the hospital after noting Montoya wasn't there.
Batwoman crept inside, hearing alarms going off, and the lights were out. "Never planned on walking into a real-life horror film," Kate whispered to Luke.
"One thing you could always count on with him was theatrics. Trying to play into being the master of fear. Whatever his deal was," Luke replied.
"Something tells me he's got a side motive, like killing me. Alice knows I can't get hurt with bullets, fear gas would be the next logical step in trying to beat me," She expressed, trying to keep silent.
He didn't respond, however, giving back static.
"Crap. Should've expected jamming. Or worse," She thought, starting to feel slight amounts of fear, but buried it. Focusing on what was happening, the hospital seemed deadly silent. Wasn't clear where exactly he would be hiding inside, didn't seem like GCPD knew either as of yet.
After searching around, she went up a floor and spotted two goons watching out. She looked intensively at them and waited for their focus to slip for even just a moment and struck, knocking them out, pulling them out of potential sight. "Who wants to talk?" She asked, reaching for their masks and gas shot out once taken off. "No!" She exclaimed, feeling the gas starting to take effect. With that, those two goons charged at her knocking her down the stairs. They turned from faceless goons to deformed versions of Luke and Mary, who looked horrific. Kate knew they weren't real, but hastated with fighting back against them. She cared about them. Batwoman fought through it, closing her eyes and knocked them out. Looked like they were dead now, another lie from the toxin. Couldn't shake it might have been true, what was?
Batwoman fought though and pushed herself up the stairs where they appeared. The floor had changed into something from nightmares, with figures standing in the hallways staring at her.
"Not real, not real. I'm not afraid of-" She tried saying before what appeared to be Alice popped up in her face.
"You should be afraid, very much so in fact. You're going to die here, and once you do, that mask comes off, and everyone will know who you are. Think your family will be living a long, happy life after that? Imagine how their lives will fall apart? Look, here they all are now!" She exclaimed, presenting the figures who turned out to be her family and friends. She made all scared physically beyond what thought possible.
"No," Kate didn't bear to look and grabbed the cure for the toxin, at least one apparently being adrenaline. She had a spare one in case of something terrible happening like this. It was risky as it happens to have a chance of amplifying the toxin, which would likely result in death or brain damage. Many people didn't know that. The cure discovered by Batman and Luke's father was a non-dangerous way of stopping it. At least for that particular exposure, if Batwoman was to get exposed again, it would have to be fought off from willpower.
Outside Jacob and Renee arrived around the same time.
"Commissioner Montoya, why haven't you breached yet?" He asked immediately, and a few of The Crows behind him all had their arms crossed judgingly.
"We're scouting, trying to make sure it's safe. Scarecrow has rigged buildings with fear gas before. Considering he's been missing for years, we've got no idea how much crap he's got! A lot of the people here might be safe, but not everyone. Good that we had antidotes left off after all these years," She remarked, annoyed with Jacob being so untrusting in a time like this.
"And what about Batwoman! I know she's in there!" He exclaimed.
"Maybe she is, maybe not. Doesn't matter. I can't control her, and you won't be breaching until SWAT gives the all-clear, got it, commander? Could risk lives, including us, hostages and Batwoman!" She shot back.
He reluctantly nodded.
Scarecrow was watching cams around the hospital and outside, pleased with his plans so far. Two goons stood behind him. "Look at it. Glorious. They're afraid. So much so they can't even confront us, suspecting worse case scenarios. That unclarity, disarray in their minds making them second guess themselves into getting stuck in the same place. Trapped themselves, the beauty of mental warfare gentlemen. All very fascinating. Batwoman must be inside by now. Or close. Any minute, you two will be getting a front-row seat into looking under the hood of that particular mind," Crane expressed, smiling to himself.
Unknown to all in the building, another party had entered and sneaked right up to that room, hearing Scarecrow speak.
Ryan creaked inside, closing the door and revealing she had a gas mask on. With that tossed down a smoke grenade and took down the two thugs easily. The furious woman grabbed Scarecrow and put her gun to his skull. "Game over. It's about time you pay for all you have done!" She exclaimed.
"Who are you?" He asked, confused.
"You killed my mother, you bastard! In this same hospital, even!" She exclaimed, preparing to pull the trigger but shaking.
He looked unimpressed. "Child, have you ever used a gun before? Taken a life?"
Ryan shook her head and smacked him across the face. "You think you're getting inside of my head? I'm not a child! Not happening!" She exclaimed.
"You know why I picked this hospital? My mother was murdered here, as well. Not exactly here, but my father hurt her so badly she couldn't survive despite the doctor's best efforts. That was the day I finally learnt about fear. Being sent away with him back to my torture, he needed someone to inflict the pain, of course," Crane said, seeming to be saddened by sharing this.
"Should I care? Could give me a million reasons why I shouldn't kill you and wouldn't make a difference!" She shouted.
Scarecrow continued staring at her. "You're not going to fire. Child, you're afraid," He stood up and grabbed the gun, tossing it away. "I've gone against The Dark Knight on multiple occasions. You aren't a threat. One must adapt, and one is not an amateur fighter." Crane expressed and overcame her attacks, knocking her to the wall pulling off the gas mask. "I wonder, what are you afraid of? Let's take a peek, shall we?" He declared sinisterly with his voice changing into something unearthly.
"This isn't real, you can't-" She tried saying before saying her mom in front of her. "No, no. You're not doing this, I won't do this again!" She shouted, seeing her mother get murdered once again by an even more fearsome Scarecrow.
"Fear is horrible, isn't it? It's a distressing and upsetting feeling, you have the spirit to beat it, I'm betting? Worth a chance to see how you do. Fear is my greatest enemy, why I now channel it and make others so what describes their darkest corners," Crane said coldly and then was attacked from behind. Spinning around, he saw his attacker. "Batwoman! At last!" He tried gassing her, but Kate was too fast and twisted his arms, smacking him across the face knocking him seemingly out.
"Nice try, straw brain." Batwoman went to check on Ryan, who was hyperventilating, hiding in a corner in a defensive position.
"Ryan, listen. It's me, Kate. I know this isn't easy, but hang on. I know you're strong, just hang on. Focus on what is real, what you can feel. Your eyes, heck, maybe even your ears are not going to help right now." Batwoman said, trying her best to calm down Ryan and then realized a few of Scarecrow's goons arrived starting to fire bullets. She grabbed Ryan and moved her out of the way blocking the shots.
"K-Batwoman, I-I can't, my mom. She won't stop dying, pleading for help."
Kate sighed and frowned, seeing the goons moving forward, along with Scarecrow. She pulled her along. "It's not real, just stay with me. I'm getting you out of here right now."
"No! I have to kill him! It's the only way this nightmare stops!" She shouted.
"You're wrong, killing him won't stop this pain. It'll create even more pain, trust me on that. Just-" Before she could finish, one of the goons tackled her making both of them crash through a glass door, leaving Ryan alone once more.
Batwoman fought off the goon smacking him around, then Scarecrow and the rest of his goons appeared. At the same time, Ryan hid, trying to collect herself.
"Come on, pull yourself together," Ryan told herself over and over again.
Batwoman leaped and started fighting with the criminals, taking down the goons with hardly any effort. One made things more challenging by appearing to have better fighting skills than the rest, at least enough to catch her off guard, pushing her to a wall. Scarecrow approached with his long scythe and struck. Batwoman stopped it, and surprisingly it scraped against the suit, leaving a mark. She kicked him back and tossed a Batarang at his hand. This didn't make him pleased, and he charged her, spraying fear gas at her, but she expected this covering her face in time. Then creaked him in the face again, giving him a confident smirk of her suppository.
"You're confident, think you're unbeatable? Seems like you might be asking for a wake-up call!" He declared, moving back into the attack, revealing his swift fighting skills, likely from being so skinny and long. This allowed him to gas her right from the side of her face, sending her back on the nightmare trip.
"Might be afield, but I can still kick your ass!" Kate declared, grabbing at him and tossing him into a patient's room, getting close to a window.
"Really? Impressive fighting the toxin, maybe another dose might make your mind snap!" He exclaimed and moved in, slowly preparing to attack.
"Not happening! I hear you clear as day!" Ryan said, stumbling over tackling Scarecrow beating down on him with her eyes clover. "Now, a feel that stupid bag on your head!" She exclaimed, continuing to beat down on him.
"Ryan, don't let him win!" Batwoman exclaimed, trying to hold her back, but was still fighting the toxin's effects, not even positive if it was Ryan. She kept speaking anyway. "Kill him, and I'll have to bring you in like a common criminal! Be better!"
Ryan stared down at him, now looking like a monster. One now turning into her mother. This made her let go and stand up, getting off him.
She sighed, controlling her anger and fighting off her fears.
Crane then tried attacking Ryan once more, but Batwoman saw it coming and knocked his knife away. "Two against one, unfair," He remarked and pulled out a gas bomb. Ryan saw this having fear take over, she accidentally knocked him out the window, trying to stop him.
"No, did I? Is he dead?" She questioned, unsure how to feel.
"I'm not sure, we need to get out of here. I'm fighting the fear gas, Montoya must be here and have a cure. Come on," Kate said, heading out of the building with Ryan and giving her a cloth to cover part of her face, so they couldn't get an id on her just in case. Need to protect her identity after.
Together they reached the police, and Montoya, who clearly saw they both had been exposed to fear toxin, quickly giving them the cure.
"What happened in there?" She asked immediately after the effects seemed to dimer.
Batwoman stood in front of Ryan. "I went in, found Scarecrow, and he might have fallen out a window in our fight. Hard to tell, got exposed to the gas."
"What are the odds? Scarecrow gets pushed out a window, and you have an excuse. And who is this young woman?" Jacob asked, walking off with his grumpy face.
"Hey, back off, commander. You know full well Scarecrow pulls mind games. What about the hostages? Did you find any?"
Kate and Ryan looked confused. "Didn't find any hostages, checked all around where his people were," Batwoman responded.
Renee looked annoyed. "He tricked us. Good thing we had you and your friend here?"
"Yeah, she's my." Kate paused. "Partner." She said, defending her, knowing telling the truth of why Ryan was there wouldn't be right to share.
"You brought this young woman into your crime ring? How many more people are you bringing in, huh!? Already turned my stepdaughter against me! How many more!" He said, enraged. "This woman deserves better than being another pawn of yours!" He exclaimed at the top of his lungs.
"Back off, Kane, drop it. Batwoman isn't a cult leader, I'm positive this young woman can think for herself. Now, should you and my swat be sweeping for Scarecrow? Along with his goons?" She remarked, crossing her arms, looking intensely at him.
He nodded and walked off, going with his team wearing gas masks.
"I regret not going inside with gas masks, or more cures," Batwoman admitted.
"You're both safe and alive. Glad for that," Renee replied.
Kate nodded. "If everything is good here, think I'm going to take my leave with my new partner here," She said, smiling and starting to walk off with Ryan.
Renee nodded and checked on progress with her officers, along with the news starting to come by. Causing a crowd to begin to form.
"Wish I could've given my input," Ryan remarked, rolling her eyes.
"You will, just after you both yourself a little more and we have ourselves a talk about what you nearly did, Crane. Or did do," Batwoman replied, bringing Ryan to her bike.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"Was thinking of bringing you back to Whisper, but thinking more about having you checked out by my sister and having a talk with you, in my cave."
"You're bringing me to your Batcave!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"About time. If we're going to be partners for real, time to act like it," Kate replied, giving a smile, hiding her worry about Ryan being so close to crossing the line. In her heart, she knew Ryan was a good person, however.
Elsewhere, Alice continued walking away aimlessly. "Whatever should I do now. Part of me is hoping you're listening! Will grab me and pull me away from this directionless life. Even if you kill me, still something!" She exclaimed, referring to the woman from her past, Safiyah. A name she didn't dare speak.
She said alongside the road, frowning. "Guess not?" She said, looking around. Her phone then rang, it was Crane again. "What now?" She questioned.
"I was nearly apprehended, if not for my toxin and plotting an escape route, Batwoman would've stopped me. Nearly broke her mind if not for that other's assistance."
"Other? What? She's found another to replace me?" She scoffed.
Scarecrow grunted. "Stop your complaining, it's done nothing for my plans. Make yourself useful and get to Arkham. I set up a backup plan, one I'm more confident about," Crane expressed and hung up.
"Why I-!" She was furious. "How dare he! Fine, I'll listen. Nothing else to do but mark my words. Your days are numbered," Alice muttered.
Back at Arkham, Scarecrow then called his woman on the inside. Doctor Abigail O'Shay, the woman who Alice had previously met at his home.
"Is it time?" She asked on the phone with him, getting suited up.
"Just about, on my way there. Time to take back the Asylum. Doctors need test subjects, something tells me those locked up and those Crows you mentioned will be great for our tests. We've waited some time for this, and our friend has given the money needed for those resources. It's time. Start the countdown and keep as many inside as you can," Crane declared with a sinister smirk being driven to Arkham.
"Of course, looking forward to it," O'Shay replied, checking the systems, having gas prepared to be released and locked down the whole main building. She watched the cams too, seeing Sophie and Julia still inside, meeting with more Crows who had come as backup. Not knowing what was about to hit them.
Batwoman
Hope that my Scarecrow wasn't too overboard. Worried, I might have gotten carried away with him considering he's my fav Batman foe, along with my recent happenings of getting shit on, causing the fear stuff to be quite hard to read, well write for me anyways. Don't want to go too messed up. Sorry overall, if the quality dipped here, next time, I think I'll be doing 3 weeks just in case to make sure it's to the best of my abilities.
Response to C.G
Sorry for another surprise, it will be bi-weekly from now on (Hopefully). Happy late birthday (: Hope you had a lovely day and hope that the last chapter was a positive inclusion for your birthday week.
Also, I wanted to share that the other series is officially deleted. I saved the comments/reviews you posted on there for remembrance and reference.
Chapter 6 Villain Name: That's a nice change, added in retrospect. Nice pull, you have so much knowledge, it seems like with comics. Really wish I was better at coming up with names. After posting, I've realized that villain could return or at least likely be referenced again in the future for another villain.
Clarification on Ryan Wilder's costumes: Oh, okay, that is generally what I was thinking. I'm thankful for the clarification, helps a lot as always. I love the idea of Ryan giving Luke designs and being an artist, that's an interesting character trait for her. Pretty sure I could do some creative stuff with that, hopefully.
Clarification on Bat-Soldier and Bat-Beast: Pretty fantastic ideas for them, I will for sure do that. Again, I love all the thoughts you have for them, it's brilliant. I'm hopeful I'll be able to make these three into likely the series best villains with all that you have shared about them. (Hopefully, I'll be able to create ones that can match up with them)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Thank you for the important note, I'll be sure to remember this. Also, like how Renee wouldn't be fooled due to what happened during Arrow season 3. I feel like she's the kind of person that paid close attention to the events of Arrow, Flash, etc. Along with I figured she'd be way too smart to know better.
Clarification on the Demon's Fist: Oh, okay, likely why I didn't hear of them considering their resent. Okay, I'll keep that in mind, should I mention Damian during this crossover? Yes, I figured as much they weren't the League, sorry if I misspoke before. It was a significant plot point in Arrow how it's gone and how many groups seem to have spawned from their destruction. Thank you for clearing this up.
Clarification on Jason Todd – Oh yeah, I remember that nice pull. As always, great references, you're excellent with these.
Thank you for all the clarifications, I appreciate them all as always!
Episode 7 Suggestions: Thank you very much for the suggestions, I tried to fit them all in, I hope I did a good job! I'll be putting point 4/5 into the next chapter more than this one, kinda ran out of time and fits for next time. (I put some of 4 cause I left out the part with Whisper as well, I intend to do stuff there and a little more)
PS I: I was thinking about that too, honestly not too sure wherever or not I should. She's a good character, my bestest friend in the world's name is Stephanie and bringing in a Batgirl would be interesting. Just not sure how I'd add her in right now. (I wanna cause I love the titles you made for the chapters, I guess focusing on her mainly) Of course, always have a lot of time for things to change. Like this season alone has changed a bit, I'll reveal more about that during the finale. Sorry for the rambling.
Ps II: In regards to Ghost-Maker, that's a great suggestion, I'll 100% hold off on using them for a couple of years at the very least. That is an excellent idea for what Ghost-Maker would be doing in this series.
Various Future Chapter Title Suggestions:
Wow! Those are all fantastic, love them all. Am curious about a couple of them in that context they would be in. My mind is running with all the possibilities presented!
PS I: It's pretty weird timing, I guess it was initially meant to be a reboot. That would make more sense, it seems like they've all just ignored the events of Doomsday Clock, and I'm just very confused by all this.
PS II: Alright, that sounds good. Still thinking of the date. I'll for sure add that in, pretty funny lol (:
Additional question about crossovers - In the assumption, there will be multiple crossovers over the time I do this series, should I post these in a separate story thing? Like "Kate Kane Batwoman Crossovers," idk. Again bad with good names, lol. Anyway, my reasons for thinking this are, making it easier to understand? (That one is a little thin, your titling of them was good and made sense) Could be not as good having it seemingly interrupts the main series? (This one is thin too with sense, maybe? Idk) Faster/easier to find? (Okay, this one comes from the desire for more eyes mainly, the summary thingy would have other hero names, which would make it pop places besides Batwoman. In theory. Kinda greedy, I guess ): Final reasoning, I'm not sure how many crossovers could happen with the freedom I have, a lot of possibilities. Heck, could do a few even after the series concludes if I'm up for it. That is kinda my central thinking of splitting it. Of course, as the primary reader/basically co-writer, I want your input most all.
PS III: Oh wow, this was surprising, in a good way. Love the title, summary and all the details about what comes next.
S3E1 Summary Prediction: Sounds very interesting and all-around amazing with a surprising opening. Love the title name, too, makes clear the stress of the situation.
Regards to Season 3 opening prediction: That's all fantastic, and super excited to do all that. 100% better than my season 3 ending, which would've been pretty generic. This sounds like season 3 would be quite intense starting off with Kate missing, Jacob being distraught, Alice's change and such. I've got more to say, but I'll wait until next chapter to say more. Which I'll elaborate more about below.
First thing to mention/share: Alice - Great twist with her split personality. I was contemplating about doing that here, your suggestion is interesting and I'm pretty sure it will happen.
(Tangent/potentially useless info inbound. My original incorporation of giving Alice split personalities was going to appear in the Sophie series, which I've given up on pretty much. In "season 2," it was going to be hinted throughout Alice was secretly struggling with another personality. Beth. In short, I was going to reckon Alice was created to protect Beth from all the pain of the world/her traumatic childhood. Then during season 3 when locked back up in Arkham and being "evaluated" by Hugo Strange, another personality would form, Kate. (She's dead, it's her mind trying to replace her) Ultimately, by season 4 it ends with Alice and "Kate" deciding to give Beth control of her life as she's in a better place now. From there would've been her redemption and trying to get back to finding peace in her life. Do you think any of that can be recycled? There were other details I excluded to keep simple. If not is totally fine)
My plan here was always redemption for Alice and split personality can help achieve that happening logically. Think it could be interesting for my proposed season 3, speaking of which.
Secondly, I'm wondering if I should give my general plot overview for season 3 of which I've got in mind currently. It's pretty tied to the villain chosen for how characters will react/what triggers some struggles. Perhaps sharing now can help give you suggestions for it? Or if I should go in a different direction? (Going to wait until your thoughts to share, so likely next chapter/episode) Idk if this is too soon or not. Also, I'll try not to spoil season 2 if that kind of thing really matters at this point or not. Of course, sharing season 3 would give the chance to provide suggestions and own thoughts. I'm pretty open to hearing your thoughts and suggestions/changes. I'd find it best talking more about all that great info you shared about season 2 ending/season 3 opening while discussing my season 3. Your thought processing is fantastic and makes me wonder a lot.
#1 That would be a good idea, I wondered if I should include them. (I'm not sure if they are connected either, I share more about that below) I would very much agree, that's a pretty great title and quite sinister sounding. Nice title name!
(Note, just thought I'd give my proposed idea for a couple storylines coming next. I wanted to give my general idea. Please feel free to give your own. This doesn't necessarily have to happen if you have a better idea in mind. Or other ideas too)
*Season 2 spoilers, read at risk.*
I'll leave episode 8 predictions to you.
(Still feel free to give as many predictions as you want going forwards, I appreciate them all very much and they help)
My thinking is that episode 9 will start with Kate being confronted by Safiyah, who explains she has 31 days to get all her affairs in order, then surrender herself. Kate doesn't take it seriously, not threatened. This leads to a time jump of 30 days.
Time Jump reason - My thinking behind this is giving time for Kate to off screen train Ryan a little bit who still has a lot to learn and goes through a rough patch with Whisper who reveals she knows pretty much everything due to Safiyah telling her Kate was Batwoman after learning about the connection to Ryan.
"Twist" - Safiyah's warning turns out to be due to her planning on abducting Kate and bringing her to the island to manipulate her into falling in love so they could be a perfect couple. (There is more to her plans) At this point/month, she's managed to turn Alice to her side (for now) promising her if she'd help make Kate comfortable and such, they'd both get to be sisters again. Along with paying her debt to Safiyah (maybe…)
Kate gone - Ryan, Luke and Mary have to figure out what to do. Montoya is not sure about what happened to Batwoman or to trust Ryan who is trying to fill the void now. Jacob naturally is pretty pissed off with another vigilante because of Batwoman. So head butting comes there. Also, adds more fuel to his creating the Batwoman killing team.
So now it's just like I guess in theory, "omg how is Kate going to get out of this and how is Gotham going to be protected?" My thinking would be Kate is stuck and fighting against falling under Safiyah's "control" (She is not brian washing or anything, just very good extremely charismatic) for at least 3-4 episodes. While everyone is trying to manage without her.
This fits with bringing in "The Many Arms of Death" too. I'm not 100% if they were working together or not in the comics. For here at least, I'll have it be they've caused issues for her home and one of her goals is to take them out. She's hopeful Kate and Alice will assist her in the quest of this. I'm thinking they'd agree, but work together to screw her over with taking them down. For Kate it's due to her plans of killing them all and Alice cause she hates Safiyah for all her manipulation/past.
(Wasn't sure where to put this) Knife/Tahani - She's around in Gotham basically being the middle woman for Safiyah's plans. It's hinted before "Whisper" is working for someone, this is Safiyah, but more so Knife as she's busy with other stuff naturally.
Knife is annoyed by Safiyah having such interest in Kate and faces mainly Ryan throughout this time. (Could be seen as a similar to Ryan in some ways, tho could be stretching with that) *End of spoilers*
Feel free to give other ideas besides all this or alterations or something. Hopefully everything stated made sense. I'm open to any changes as I'm sure they'll be better. Please feel free not to rush with thinking about all I shared, it's a bit I guess, and the next chapter will likely be released in 3 weeks, and chapter nine will probably be another 3 weeks if life continues being the way it's going.
Anyways, moving on, back to the last minute stuff you came up with. Sorry for the poor structure of handling this.
#2 I was contemplating that from day one, kinda not sure how to handle it. On the show it's clips from previous episodes that relate to events in the following episode, a little hard to do in this format. One alternative I can think of is just a recap of some important events I guess. Idk, do you have any thoughts? I was thinking of a "Last Season" thing too, hopefully if I do them, I'd handle them well enough.
#3 Great idea, I've started trying that out. Trying to think it out hard, I guess geography would be a nice inclusion. Never really had that on the show, have no idea where Wayne Tower is, or Kate's apartment, or Crows HQ, etc. That is a weird detail, I guess it makes a bit of sense. Different earths and all.
#4 That would be a fun ending to a chapter, for sure will do that once Kate has a larger team or Batfamily. (:
#5 Huh, I usually think of millstone points, but completely forgot about that. I'm not positive what I'll do, maybe a couple ideas? Do you have any suggestions? I'd have to say, no. Bruce returning by season 5 might not work, though, things could change still of course. Going to be some time before season 5. Thank you for asking.
#6 Yeah, it pretty much was lol. Also, just bad at naming and wanted Kate to learn many gangs exist in Gotham under her nose.
#7 That's an interesting idea, I was generally thinking of taking inspiration there for Ethan and Jessica/Twoface. Lady Arkham/Arkham Knight, maybe not. I understand your thinking, but I'm fairly confident that I'd be able to pull a season of Arkham Knight as the main villain separately, building off the ideas presented in the comics. Idk, we'll see, could change my mind and go with that. Thank you for the suggestion.
Extra question regarding Damien - Another reader (Silver-Infinite) gave alternative thinking on Damien's status. They suggested making him come from an alternative earth in his 20-30's.
(I just copped what they said)
"#1. He would be older in like in his 20s or 30s since I don't think anyone on Bat Team will want to look after an displaced teenager who will give them an run for their money as they try to find an proper explanation and cover for him. #2. Kevin Conroy is easier to picture as father more than Warren Christie since his version of Batman is 10-11 years older than his cousins. #3. I know The Al Ghuls are sort of a secretive family but nothing points to Thalia having Damien with Bruce before he disappeared in 2015. I think as to why an alternative Earth Damien would be good if his character ever makes his Batwoman Adventures is because it won't be one more secret that this Bruce kept from everyone and I assuming that all Heroes here assume that the Multiverses is dead and that any unfortunate wayward doppelgänger who shows up on Prime Earth with their alternative still alive will make people wait with baited breath to see which one survives while the other dies. (I hate that they did that to Alice& Beth in canon it really sent out unfortunate implications) would pave the way for Damien onto a world where he was never born." )
Just was curious about your thoughts, I'm honestly still thinking about my thoughts. Take all the time needed with thinking, don't expect him in any form this season or next for 100%.
Regarding show Ryan/most recent posting - I thought the same thing, apart from her hair which I might need to warm up to, I liked it. Had more red on it which was a nice touch, never even noticed those sharper parts on the gantlents, though they forgot about them lol. Or noticed how her cape wasn't red, or even remembered the cape sometimes even. I'll for sure go with Kate upgrading into a suit like that. I'm sorry the fans have been silenced, I guess many of them don't want to be falsely called racist. Just one thought. At least there is one vocal fan like you, sorry there isn't more. I saw another, but was pretty simple with wording, the rest was naturally hateful comments/jokes. It's nice how your not as extreme, wish they would've gone with Ryan and Kate being partners like you thought initially, would've pleased everyone potanaly. It is sad how little people in the industry think/care ):
PS - I've not checked out the Batwoman ones yet, but I will now even tho I doubt it'll help sadly. It is crazy Supergirl one has gotten so many! I guess a lot of people are passionate about that. Guess it's a little different from the Kate Kane replacement situation.
Thank you as always for all the suggestions, this truly is becoming the highlight of my days. Cause my bestest friend/more... is MIA, or worse ): I'm falling apart mentelly in all honesty without her and this series is one of the only things keeping me together. I've been struggling pretty severely this last week, so I guess I might warn episode 8/chapter might be 3 weeks. This one was a struggle to go through for a few days. Hope I had enough time to proofread to find any errors, fortunately, this one was pretty clear in my mind, so writing was easier)
Best wishes to you, thank you for believing in my series, I hope I can continue to deliver with this. Also, was genuinely thinking of crediting you as the co-writer at this point with all the assistance given.
In Response to Silver-Infinite
Thank you lol. I'm trying my best and am pretty invested in writing for this. Pretty logical thinking, kinda wondered if I should've mentioned her having someone watching her, at least a sister. I'd have to say preteen, but don't know if I'll say anything concrete in the story. That could be possible, it's an interesting idea and I'm for sure thinking heavily about it! (I'm kinda curious what unfortunate implications you're referring to with Alice&Beth, I'm likely having a brain fart with understanding sorry ): ) Yeah, that is pretty weird. (Sometimes I wish I had the time to add a rewritten season 1 to this series, but too late now and might have damaged the whole continuation angle. Sorry if that's random to share) Yeah, pretty much. Cool she's around, even tho we haven't seen her I guess. Whatever. Thank you for that suggestion, think I'll 100% do that in some form. Would make more sense why she'd be working for a criminal like Safiyah. (Wasn't planning on making her evil, so that makes more sense overall and would be nice seeing Alfred potantally) Thank you for the suggestion (: (Good question, might try exploring that at some point. Feel like a bonehead for not thinking of that. It's weird how many women are drawn to Kate, oh well. Yeah, agreed, never imagined anything with Parker and Kate, that would be creepy. Happy as well Parker got a girlfriend, might follow up on Parker a few times in the series…) Like calling it a batty review (:
Wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone reading this series, just happy people are, even if you don't comment/review. This is a highlight in my life, perhaps the biggest one with how things are currently shaping. Speaking of that, I wanted to warn all you who might skip this end part only that delays might come if my mental health keeps spiralling. I want to give a good product and not rush it, too much lol. Seriously, my enjoyment from this series is holding me together at this point. Thank you all genuinely. Best wishes for you all.
