S2XO: "The Demon's Fist" (Part One)
Synopsis: When apparent members of the long-disbanded League of Assassins are seen, causing some trouble in Metropolis, Superman reaches out to Batwoman for help. While there, Kate takes the opportunity to ask Clark about his opinions of Bruce Wayne's possible whereabouts. Back in Gotham, Ryan is asked to help Kate's team protect the city in Kate's absence. Commissioner Montoya requests Ryan's help in a mysterious case that quickly turns deadly and disastrous.
Disclaimer: Apologies for this chapter being slower. I had a lot going on, which I do say a little more about below. I just hope that all that hasn't caused any issues for this first part. This is the first crossover I've done, along with all the unrelated things going on in my life. This was challenging to write, I found. Hopefully, I did a good job, I'm more confident in part 2, but I still put my best into making this as good as you'd all hope for this first crossover, which is quite eventful. Thank you for understanding, I hope.
It was the night in Metropolis, one that had more danger lurking than usually in the normally peaceful city, all thanks to its hero, Superman, The Man of Steel. Most normal criminals wouldn't dare step foot in the city, learning better than to try to face off against a nearly unbeatable man, tonight was different.
People dressed similarly to The League of Assassins were breaking into the Metropolis Museum of Art, tripping an alarm. They were not concerned.
"Keep searching. It must be here!" One of the mysterious people exclaimed.
"Use the explosive. Trouble will arrive soon. We must hurry!" Another expressed.
They started rigging tiny bombs, blowing holes in the floors discovering a secret part below the floor. Some went to investigate, while the rest of them kept watching.
Soon, a fast figure speeded its way into the Museum. Standing before them was Superman.
"The Museum is currently closed for the night. I'll give you all a chance to consider your action here. Going to jail isn't worth it. Let's pack up this pyjama party before you all get yourselves into some trouble?" Superman suggested,
They didn't seem intimate.
Two appeared from underground, one with a half Kryptonite Sword and the other with a shield. "Thought we wouldn't be prepared?" One responded.
Superman was weakened, but he wasn't a coward and didn't go running.
"If you think that'll stop me, you're going to be quite disappointed!" He remarked, doing his past to fight the Kryptonite effects and used his heat vision to make the two weapons quite hot to hold.
They dropped them, but from behind, one of these mysterious people attacked. At the same time, he distracted knew stabbing him in the back with Kryptonite, but The Man of Steel's super hearing alerted him and managed to stop it. Regardless, the Kryptonite still did harm, making him light-headed. However, he always pushed forwards as all the seemingly ninja's in the room either attacked him or started making their leave with a mysterious object. Superman managed to hold up against them, despite how skilled they all were and seemed to know what he'd do. It became clear this was meant to only stoll him, and the two with their Kryptonite weapons were the only ones left behind as the rest escaped. Once Superman got enough distance from them, he moved fast as he could, knocking them both out and tossed the Kryptonite as far as he could. Now nearly back at full strength, he tied up the two tightly and searched for the rest of them, but somehow couldn't find them. Once returning, the two nearly had escaped, which was surprising. He brought the two outside where the police had arrived, leaving them and went to the sky looking in the direction of flying to Gotham City. "I'm going to need some assistance with this! Looks like a job for Batwoman and Superman!" He expressed and flew off.

Kate Kane sat in her office, thinking heavily. Now nearly 3 weeks ago, someone from her past had returned, Safiyah Sohail. Since her first encounter as Kate Kane in years and first as Batwoman, the woman and whatever she was planning had gone silent, which wasn't exactly promising. Whatever was being planned, it wouldn't end well.
"Anything new?" Luke asked, walking in.
"Same answer I keep giving you," Kate replied.
"Alright, just making sure, in case you know, keeping any important information hidden away?" Luke responded, hurt from now hearing about Safiyah sooner.
Kate rolled her eyes. "I said I was sorry. Can we move on?"
"I don't know Kate, are you keeping any more secrets regarding her that could put anyone's life at risk?" He asked, upset.
"You're overreacting. It wasn't that big of a threat. I would've said something sooner if I thought she was actually dangerous," Kate continued saying dismissively.
"Well, she is. People are dead. How can I trust you when it comes to this lady?" He questioned.
"Did I come during a bad time?" A voice asked.
They both turned, seeing Clark Kent.
"Clark!" Luke exclaimed, happy to see him and went off to give a quick hug.
"You know him?" Kate asked, surprised.
"Yeah, guess it never really came up. Bruce and Clank, we're short friendames?"
Clark shrugged. "I'd say we were more friends, even if Bruce would've never would've been caught dead admitting it. Though, I feel like I wasn't a great friend near the end. Anyways, I've come for a reason. I need some help, and I'm positive it's more up your alley."
Kate seemed interested. "Let's talk in the cave,"
The three of them went down into the cave.
"Been almost 6 years since I've seen this place, looks exactly how I remember it. Guess you didn't feel like changing the place up," Clark pointed out.
"Getting construction workers down here doesn't seem exactly easy," Kate joked.
"Yeah, one of the many great mysteries of Bruce Wayne. I should keep focused on explaining the problem, ninjas. Well, it seemed like they were members of what Bruce said was The League of Assassins. From what I recall anyway."
Kate was confused. "The League is disbanded. Couldn't be them, have been for what? A few years now. Unless that's another thing we can thank Crisis for," She muttered to herself.
"No, I've checked on them. Everything is the same concerning them," Luke replied.
"They stole something valuable from the Museum of Art, blew open the floor to find something old and built on top of it. Perhaps hidden away, the question, of course, would be why? What could they be searching for, risking an encounter with me, even with getting their hands on Kryptonite weapons," Clark wondered.
Kate pondered it. "The league were typical assassins, as in the name, if they weren't gunning for you, then they've clearly got some bigger goal."
"You're right. The police captured two and can't get them to talk. It's highly suspicious, and I want to get to the bottom of this. With your help, I think we can.".
"Fine, well, I think that I'll be taking a trip then to Metropolis. We get to the root of whoever these people are and wherever there up to. Luke, tell Ryan to keep an eye on the city," Kate said, preparing to head off as Batwoman.
"Ryan? She's going to be protecting Gotham? Is she ready for that?" Luke questioned.
"Do we have any other choice?" Kate replied.
He didn't have any response for that.
Batwoman and Superman started walking off.
"I'm going to assume you don't want to be flown to Metropolis?"
"Great guess, I'm taking my bike. Not letting you carry me, no way in hell," Kate replied.
Superman smirked, and they went on their way.
"I'm sorry, what? She's going where with who?" Ryan asked as Luke called her up.
"Yeah, Superman, Metropolis, deadly ninjas, and you have to be Gotham's protector. I can give you coms and walk you through all this. It's a bit short notice."
Ryan laughed to herself. "Ya think? Jazz, it's the middle of the night!"
"Well, uh, heroes tend to work quite late hours and aren't really accustomed to normal. Expect the unexpected. It should be written down somewhere. Okay, I'm a little concerned about all this," Luke admitted.
"No, kidding," Ryan replied sarcastically.
They both had a bit of awkward silence.
"How does she expect me to protect this city? I could get killed by just one bullet! She'd need like a hundred or more bullets to even penetrate that suit. It's crazy. I'm going to die if I go out there. On the other hand, I'm not living if I'm not going to help people," She expressed, heading into her private part of her place, finding her current what could be called a suit. "I'm going to get out there soon. Gotham needs a protector. I need to be ready for this responsibility."
Luke was surprised by Ryan's shift in tone. This made him feel a bit better about the situation while still skeptical. "How can I help?"
"Just tell me about crimes and stuff. How about that Montoya person? Kate seems to trust her a bit. Right?" Ryan questioned.
"Oh yeah, it should be good. How about you come down here? Best to discuss in a safe place," Luke replied.
Back with Batwoman and Superman, they reached Metropolis in not too long of a time. Kate looked at the city streets with great surprise, noting how different it was compared to Gotham.
"You cleaned up the city pretty nicely. It's night and day when compared to Gotham," Kate remarked to him, flying beside her.
"I'd love to take all the credit, but Metropolis has always been in this state. I'll admit my presence has made some quite positive changes to the city for the most part. More danger has not all of them, without a doubt arisen, a lot of destruction on some occasions even. I try to make my home a better place, but it can be quite hard."
She sighed. "Looking here and thinking about Gotham, it feels hopeless bringing Gotham to a better state. I know it's been the same hell hole it's always been. Even with Bruce fighting every night and me now. At least while he was around, some positive changes were made, and heroes were around. Might be getting back to where Gotham was during a bat being around, villains around every corner and not enough allies."
"Don't lose hope Batwoman, I'm sure my cousin could give you a few good pep talks if you need some," Superman replied cheerfully.
She laughed softly. "Those won't be enough, not even close. Don't even know if I had superpowers like her, Gotham would be all that different. It's rotten to the core. It breeds destructive forces."
The Man of Steel was curious. "Why are you in such a defeated mood?"
"Been having a rough few weeks or months. Someone tried impersonating Bruce, as I'm sure you heard about."
"Yep, Supergirl told me all about that adventure."
Kate continued. "A bunch of creepy masked people attacked, still got no clue behind that, a villain from Gotham's past returned, and another person whose seemingly pissed at Gotham and me might have brought an army or something, who knows. To top it all off, I've got a partner. I trust her, part of me hates to admit it, but I do second guess it sometimes. She's with a criminal, has ties to others, I'm sure too. Has a rough past, and I can tell some boiled up anger. Could be a ticking time bomb, and she's watching Gotham while I help you out."
"I'm sure the city is in capable hands. It wouldn't fall apart. You've done a lot for Gotham, and I've got no doubt you'll do so much more greatness. If I'd make a recommendation, don't be as closed off as Bruce could be. Once losing 1 Robin, just from differences in options, a shift came, and when the second died, it broke him in ways he tried desperately to hide. I respect that man immensely, but one of his biggest weaknesses was his fear of trying to keep a tight grab around anyone who helped in his mission. Don't let him make many friends, being so closed and intimating on the surface. Get help, expand larger and work with people," Superman said genuinely with a smile.
"Alright, Mr. Boy Scout," She replied sarcastically but did think about that advice for the rest of the drive.
While heading to the location, Superman couldn't help being distracted, remembering the past. The last time Batman was active, in 2015.
Clark was just leaving the Daily Planet. Trouble had sprung up in another part of the world. A meteorite was coming crashing down to earth, something that happened far too much. Before flying off, Lois called him.
"Clark! Have you had what's happening in Gotham?"
He stopped for a moment. "No, I haven't at all. Whatever is going on?"
"That lunatic clown is gone on a killing spree with his clown gang. Apparently, it's been going on for hours, cut off all communication from outside of Gotham, so nobody knew this was going on! Already being called the worst attack this city's seen, wouldn't you say this is a job for Superman?" She asked, knowing now for a couple years at this point of his identity.
Clark thought carefully. "A meteor is heading towards a largely populated city in Nigeria, most likely, can't tell for Curtin. Going to hit around that country. I've got to stop it or help with the aftermath. I trust Batman and his allies can handle The Joker. That monster has been at it for years. I'll get there as soon as I can, thanks for telling me, talk again soon.
Superman ripped up his shirt and flew off towards the meteorite. Even being one of the most influential individuals on the planet, he had a sickening feeling in his gut about his friend in Gotham. Would he need help? He'd never admit it, but at times help was most certainly needed. This might have been one, expressly from that description. He was deeply concerned, but people needed help. Gotham would have to wait. The Man of Steel was needed elsewhere.
Being around Batwoman made him remember that choice. It was the last day Batman was in Gotham, his final battle with The Joker. However, going to save that city resulted in hundreds of thousands saved from the impact. The opposite would've been helping his friend and changing a significant turn of events. One who couldn't think about now, needing to keep his head in check for this.
Shortly, they reached the Museum where the crime originated, sneaking inside, heading to take a closer look.
"You didn't think to investigate further?" Kate asked, heading down.
He followed along. "As a reporter, quite tempting, as someone who can admit when they're getting over their head, I wanted your assistance first of all. You've got knowledge with these people, or at least Bruce did. I'm sure he must have left behind some information, right?"
"Yep, can count on him being up to date on situations, at least could." She looked around. "Scan the walls with your vision thing."
"Already tried that, must have something tempering it. "
She looked over at him. "And what does that exactly? Led?"
"Led, magical properties," He replied.
"Magic? Your kidding, right?"
"No, deadly serious, greens rocks, strong as heck beings and magic are my most prominent weaknesses."
Kate was surprised. "Kara's not mentioned magical threats."
"Yeah, she's been lucky. I've had a few strange encounters."
While he replied, Kate checked the walls and found one that felt different. "This one, break it down."
"Alright, stand behind me, just in case of an explosive, let's not test how strong that suit is, " Superman replied, and she listened as he smashed the wall.
"Looks like you picked right, body here. One of our friends. Seems like traps."
Kate glanced over at the dead man. "Could you?"
Before finishing her sentence, he zoomed and brought them over.
"Thank you," She replied. Batwoman examined the assassin. "Looks a bit different than League, must be a rogue faction splintered off from them. I know those who remained behind under the newer leadership still dress the same. Last I checked anyway."
"So the question is, who are they, and what exactly did they steal?" Clark replied.
"Something important enough they risked fighting you and considering their assassins, I'm going to bet this isn't about money. They've got a mission. Revenge perhaps on those who ruined everything for them? Could it be a weapon? A secret? Maybe-"
Superman held up his hand. "I hear something, faint new sounds. We're not alone anymore." He expressed starting to become more focused on the sound. "Bombs!" Superman exclaimed, putting his cape over Batwoman, shielding her from the floor collapsing onto them.
Back in Gotham, the bat signal was shining bright, unknown to the commissioner. Of course, Batwoman was out of town. Ryan showed up in her place, still not exactly having a costume of her own just yet.
"Hello, Commissioner Montoya," Ryan said, approaching her.
"I saw you coming, your Batwoman's sidekick, right?"
Ryan sighed. "Not a sidekick partner."
"Alright, partner. Where is Batwoman?"
"Out of Gotham, attending to other business. She's spreading her wings, I guess. I'm protecting Gotham until she comes back, which should be super soon. I'm not really sure completely."
Montoya crossed her arms. "Wouldn't a partner inform you about what's her status and the future or really anything that's going on?" She questioned judgingly.
"Well, yes, it was an emergency situation, so there wasn't really time." Ryan sighed to herself. "Why were you calling Batwoman?"
"We've been getting calls about several, I quote, ninjas terrorizing a park trying to keep people out of the area. Sent some officers, found nothing, or they're too chicken to say that's happening down there. I know assassins exist that dress similar to ninjas. They attacked Gotham years ago. They could be in the same group. Tell you what, head down there, and I'll bring the full force of the GCPD behind you. I remember these people didn't screw around," Montoya expressed.
Ryan nodded, trying to hide her fear, not knowing exactly what she was about to head into and prepared to head off.
"Hey, you're gonna do fine, kid. Can smell the fear coming off you, but don't worry. I'm positive Batwoman wouldn't have left you to guard Gotham if she didn't know you were capable of doing this," Montoya said, trying to be encouraging.
"Thank you, means a lot," Ryan replied, feeling slightly better about things.
Back over in Metropolis, Batwoman and Superman just had a ceiling dropped onto their heads. The Man of Steel was able to protect most of the damage from it falling. Once the dust was settled, more assassins from earlier stared down at them intently.
"We knew he'd be getting a bat for assistance, thought it'd be the man, you're going to be far easier to beat down, less experienced!" A voice exclaimed, stepping out from the shadows. Neither hero was positive about who the woman was.
"Who are you?" Kate asked, brushing off a little dust from the suit.
"My name is Mara Al Ghu!" She shouted.
Kate shook her head, looking at her. "Great, another Al Ghul, how many of you are there?" She questioned sarcastically, not taking her too seriously, which she knew would aggravate her quite a bit.
"You dare mock me? You're only a cheap imitation of Batman!"
Superman zoomed in front of the woman. "That's quite hurtful. You should know better to not insult people, especially when they've got a superfriend!" He exclaimed.
"You seem to forget. We're prepared!" A whip made of the dastardly green rock wrapped around his throat as Kate grappled up trying to attack Mara, immediately getting countered and struck multiple times in a row.
Batwoman, to her surprise, spit up a slight amount of blood. "Damn," She said aloud, softly seeing it.
"Surprised? You think of yourself as untouchable, huh? As you can see, anyone can be brought down a size with enough still and thought! Your suit doesn't make you unkillable, like being from another planet doesn't make him unbeatable. All simple enough when putting your mind to it!" Mara explained.
"Your cocky, aren't you? A little overconfident, huh?" Kate asked, trying to not appear intimated, which annoyed the woman greatly.
"How about teaching you a lesson? I kill superman, then I'll drag you to Gotham and string you up for all your people to see. Then, they'll bow to me, the first to fall to my reign!"
"You're outta your mind, aren't you? Here I thought people from your league would be a higher class of criminal, see why I've never heard of you and why you've been excommunicated from your family," Batwoman said mocking, seeing in the corner of her eyes Superman began to fight back with all the strength and will inside of himself. She kept talking, hoping to distract her more. "Come on, you got yourself a whole army of followers, and you're so insecure to get pissed at me? Someone apparently beneath you? Wow, now that is just something, isn't it? Wonder what that says about you?" Batwoman said with a smirk.
Mara was furious and kneeled down to her. "I'll just kill you both now then!" She shouted, pulling out her sword.
"Maybe you should mind your surroundings?" Kate suggested looking over at Superman, breaking free from the assassins holding him.
"No!" She shouted, seeing this and reached for a button. "Let's try bringing this place down completely, shall we?" Saying this, the roof blew up and fell down as Mara disappeared along with the rest of her people, seemingly like magic.
Superman rushed and destroyed all the falling debris before it could land on Batwoman. She was trying her best to avoid it all.
"Thanks, Superman," Batwoman said, looking at him, relieved from the save.
"Not a problem, now I'm just wondering how the heck they mentioned to escape without a trace, that's quite unusual," He remarked, looking around. "Think I hear someone else is with us, pretty calm heartbeat considering what just happened!"
Batwoman shrugged. "I'm feeling a little outmatched here but still eager to kick that woman's butt into a well-built cell. Just need to get our hands on her."
"You should remember that a simple prison isn't enough to hold someone with training we've undergone throughout our lives." A voice said, which Kate remembered.
She turned to the woman crossing her arms. "Talia, Al Ghal. You show up now after one of your family members shows and tries to kill us. What a coincidence, what are you doing here?" Batwoman questioned.
"Same reason I assume you two must be searching for her, of course."
"I recall Batman mentioning you before, not all positive." Superman jumped in, saying, putting his hands on his hips judgmentally.
She scoffed. "Please, my beloved never would admit it, but he had feelings for me. We had a lot between us, more than either of you know. Would appear he's still off the grid, having to bring her around?"
Sirens were in the air. "Perhaps we should take this conversation elsewhere?" Batwoman suggested looking at Superman and glaring at Taila."
They both nodded and agreed, and the three went away from the now-destroyed building, not wanting to deal with the fallout.
In Gotham, Ryan reached the park, scooping the place out carefully.
"This seems highly dangerous." Luke pointed out.
"Quite obviously, yeah, but I can't back out of this now. Have you heard from Kate?" She replied, doing her best to be confident.
"No, not at all. Which is concerning, but she's with Superman, I'm sure everything's fine." Luke reassured her.
"I wish I had that kind of backup here, saw some cops hanging back, guessing they want me to do their jobs for them." Ryan said, not surprised.
"Could be waiting for backup?" Luke suggested.
"Yeah right, doubtful. Some cops are looking around, they aren't waiting for apparent backup." Ryan said, moving in a little closer, keeping a close eye on the cops.
Luke laughed softly to himself. "Just you like you and Kate, not being fans of backup."
"Hey, believe me, if I could get back up I'd take it!" Ryan exclaimed back.
She hopped down from a tree she was perched in, the park was quite creepy this late at night. Didn't feel great being around there alone, she remembered many horrible things happened during the night, hiding in the darkness. Being a bat in this city meant having to fight the dark, master it. This was easier said than done, Ryan didn't know how Kate managed to do this for over 2 years now. Maybe the suit helped a lot.
Her thoughts were cut off from an assassin making themself known creeping up and moving in to attack. They slashed Ryan's hoodie nearly making her bleed.
"Hey! I love this hoodie!" She exclaimed, blocking and countering the next attack hitting the assassin back. Unfortunately, she wasn't well enough trained to hold her own against this one and got slashed a couple more times before making a run for it spotting a few cops moving towards them. They fired at the assassin, but seemed to actually have armor that blocked the incoming bullets. Until a sniper from S.W.A.T fired a few shots, taking them down.
"On the ground!" The rest of the cops started shouting.
"Come on!" Ryan exclaimed, getting low, not sure how to explain why she shouldn't be arrested.
Montoya rushed over. "Hey! She works with Batwoman, weapons down!" She yelled at her officers. "Check the assassin, not the one trying to help!" She said, shaking her head and walked up to Ryan. "Your bleeding."
"Am I? Didn't feel it," Ryan replied.
"You did and should get that checked out. Along with some body armor and like a bat logo or something. Just so people know who you are, just not some young lady looking to get herself killed. You seem smarter than that, especially if Batwoman trusts you this much," Montoya said.
"I'm fine, commissioner. There might be more of these people, they have skill and can take a lot of bullets. Not something for the police to handle without backup anyways. I've gotta go in first, I can hold my own against them. Batwoman's trained me."
Montoya bit her lip, skeptical of Ryan's words. "Listen, I don't want you dying on my watch. Cops know what they're getting into, it's horrible when one falls of course. When a civilian gets in over their head trying to protect the city, it's more tragic in my eyes when they die horribly, not grasping the situation. Hey, maybe that's cynical. This is Gotham, it rubs off onto people here. Gotta love it here, has some charm. Somewhat. Complicated, point is, do you get what I'm saying here?" Montoya said, looking at Ryan.
She nodded, not wanting to respond with words.
Back with the others, Batwoman and Superman now stood on a roof wondering what Talia, Al Ghal was desiring from this or what part she might be playing.
"Start talking, everything," Kate said aggressively.
"I wouldn't test her patience," Clark added.
Talia rolled her eyes. "You think I've got some part in this? Well, you did send me to jail for no reason after all, so not too much of a leap for Kate Kane, is it?"
"Come on, you shouldn't have been in my city," Kate shot back.
"Your city? Do you own Gotham? Maybe in your dreams and delusions. I've turned a new leaf after that embarrassment being beat by you and sentenced to a jail. It was a poor time of my life, now I'm trying to follow what Bruce preached my entire time knowing him. Do going with what I'm capable of, taking killing off the table. For the most part. You know, being a hero?"
"Can't see you as one," Kate replied, shaking her head.
Clark stepped forward. "Bruce trusted her, sometimes. I know they had rough patches. One secret one too, guess you wouldn't know about-"
"Stop speaking about that. The past is the past. Let's focus on the now." Talia said, shifting her tone ultimately. "We must find my niece. I wish my partner in the new League of Heroes was available for assistance during this matter. We're going to need more help, I believe."
Kate shook her head. "This is all we've got, Supergirl is busy, and I've got nobody else to call for assistance."
"What about your new partner? Not a robin, perhaps you don't trust them enough."
Kate got in her face. "I trust my partner with my life. They're protecting Gotham. Someone needs to while I'm off here. Maybe if you watched it after your niece, we wouldn't be in this situation, to begin with? She seems pissed, wanting revenge. How many people are at risk now? And what does she want?"
"We shouldn't fight each other here. We've got to focus on bringing her and her people in, whoever they are," Superman said, getting between the two.
"Superman is right. I'll put aside my dislike for you. For now." Batwoman replied, taking a deep breath of air.
"Fine, I'll put my disdain for you aside as well. Mara, she's searching for artifacts, ones that process great power, or rather would give her that power. My father once wanted to seek them out because more powerful than you could possibly imagine. Shortly into that quest, he learnt the horrible truth. Those things were cursed. The one he found seemed to cause insanity, but greater strength and endurance. Father thought it was just that one but soon realized all of them gave the same terrible effects, growing worse every time they had it around them, harnessing its power with a spell. He destroyed that one or at least tried. He failed and hid it. Only his close family knew of where it was located. As father assumed none would betray his trust or be mad enough to risk that power."
Batwoman crossed her arms. "Clearly, she underestimates what it'd do. Or doesn't care, only wanting revenge. Blinded by it."
Talia continued. "Correct, we saw this lust for power growing in her years and years ago. Hatred had consumed her. She was banished. Formed her own group, The Demon's Fist. One to crush all of her enemies, once and for all. Anyone tied to the League included. When Oliver Queen brought down my father, another man became the Demon's Head. He wasn't fit for the task. Once again, my sister, with Queen's assistance, was able to defeat him and dismantled the League, freeing all the members. I took some in, and so did Mara. Demon's Fist grew, new members, old, she was the reminding member of the family who had most ambitious goals. Revenge is just the beginning. I can assure you of such. 4 objects, a stone and other similar objects hold different powers. Another organization had begun assisting her, I'm not sure of their name, but I know it was serious, and she discovered one not even my father knew of along with the one he hid of course. That combined strength, it allowed this third one to be taken. She must still be in the city or at least had a temporary base of operations."
"I'll search the city. I doubt they'll be able to keep it hidden if this is a quick stop kind of mission." He said, zooming off.
The two women looked at each other. "So, do we just wait here?" Kate asked.
Talia looked away. "Perhaps, I'll wait for now. My terms are not discussing the past events, the one, in particular, you took part in."
Kate nodded in agreement, and they both looked down on the city, not wishing to look or think about each other.
Back over in Gotham, Ryan had made her own partnership with Montoya, now heading to the location where the apparent ninjas were located.
They moved in closer to a tunnel which appeared to be the last place that wasn't checked yet. Getting close three dead could be found, all ninjas, or whatever they were.
"No bullet wounds, something sharp did this. What do you think? Was it the one my cops gunned down, or do we have one or more offenders still on the loose here?"
Ryan shrugged. "Sorry, not a detective here."
"I guessed, just wanted a second opinion. My detectives will sweep the area and I can bet if the suspect is alive, they're going to escape easily." Montoya expressed.
"Your right. I'm going to ask my partner in my ear if-"
Luke immediately spoke up. "I've got four masked armed people sneaking past the police, not even a mile away from you two!" He exclaimed.
"Alright, partner, give a location please," She turned to Montoya, who guessed what was said from her end.
They run off after being given the location.
"Four masked escapes! Move it now!" She shouted at the few cops she saw once leaving the tunnel with Ryan.
Together they all rushed, finding two cops minding their own business eating while they should've been paying attention.
"You two! You're in deep trouble, don't move. I got to see your names!" Montoya yelled at them, disappointed, moving along still.
"There they are!" One officer shouted with their weapon drawn, giving warning shots. The criminals didn't appreciate this. Two of them fired at the cop and everyone else approaching. Fortunately nobody was hit, less lucky they seemed to make a break for it. Heading towards a van, spraying random gunfire as they ran. Police returned fire, Ryan was a little stressed out by all this happening around her, but she managed to take a pic of the license plate, with a higher-tech phone Luke had given her.
"Dammit!" Montoya said, allowed frustrated, as the criminals escaped.
"I've got the license plate here," Ryan said, showing her phone, which seemed to focus itself on the plate to read it clearly.
Montoya felt some relief. "Fancy phone, guessing it's not on the market."
Ryan shrugged, genuinely unsure.
"Alright! Listen up! We've got the plate numbers. We've gotta find them. This seems like this isn't just a small attack! I want them found!" As the officers left, one approach.
"Commissioner, wanted to let you know, we've got two civilians injured, rushing them to the hospital now. Gunshot wounds."
Montoya nodded. "Thank you for informing, officer Benton." She turned back to Ryan. "Think your partner can offer any more help?"
"They're doing all they can. Trust me." She replied with confidence.
Back with the reluctant partners, Kate and Talia continued waiting.
Taila spoke up. "Tell me, Kate Kane, now the boy scout's gone on his way, do you know whatever happened to Bruce?"
"If I knew, I would've said by now." She replied, hurt by implying a lack of trust.
"Your family must've looked into this difference."
Kate looked her dead in the eyes. "And you haven't? I'm sure you've already searched for him, why you came to Gotham two years ago now. Still gotta wonder how you went down so easy, I would say I'm just the great of a fighter, but I'm not that naive."
She crossed her arms. "Fine, I was injured, angry, alone. I was beat before you even put a hand on me. Nearly died in the explosion, turns out working with someone unstable to seek revenge can backfire heavily. Oliver Queen reminded me sometimes of Bruce, but he was always the better one."
"Do you know why Bruce would ever leave Gotham?"
Taila scoffed. "Loss Kate, he suffered a lot. It finally broke him. You should've heard, but I do suspect Bruce swept a lot of what happened under the rug. The finer more intimate details of course."
"You want to share some of those intimate details?"
"Too painful." Taila responded, telling a lie.
Kate got in her face once again. "I wanna know the truth. I've asked, I've looked into it. Like an open secret around Gotham."
Taila shook her head and scoffed again. "Allow me to tell you a secret. I think you're scared to know what happened. Don't wanna admit it. Can't bear to look at the details, the body count. Maybe it's easier to be mad at him. Call him a coward. He patrolled for around 15 years, going against the worst of the worst. Freaks, monsters that nobody outside of Gotham would ever want to speak about. Look at all the facts before making a final judgment." She said truthfully.
Before Kate could respond, not even sure how to, Superman at last talked into coms with Batwoman.
"I've found the warehouse they've clearly been working out of. Seems like they left in a rush, might have a struggle too. I've got a blood trail, sending you the address."
Batwoman looked at Taila. "We've gotta go. He found something. It's pretty close. You're riding on my bike, not arguments."
"Wasn't planning on disagreeing. I want Mara found badly."
They rushed down to the location found. Superman slowly approached them. "Found two dead, looks like the ones who attacked us."
The women went over to investigate.
Talia looked at the bodies. "Knife wounds, sharp, well placed. Specialist. I know he killed these two men. An assassin, her name is Knife, I requinse her style of killing. I trained her years ago, she betrayed me. She chose a different path, however."
Kate was shocked. "You trained her? Do you know about Safiyah? What's she up to?"
"No, I heard she's the leader of The Many Arms of Death, however. I know she recruited her, Tahani. You met their leader?"
"I didn't know she was a leader of anything, not when I knew her. Unless it was all a lie. Makes my head spin thinking about this, she's in love with Safiyah, I know that about her and her codename and her jealousy. Small world I guess. What do you know about them? The Many Arms of Death, my insane sister offered to explain, but I turned her down. Can't trust her.
"Their terroristsists. Cowards, motived primarily by money. Clearly, they've got a dislike for Mara, want her dead I'd bet."
Kate thought hard. "Tahani was in Gotham, Safiyah. I figured they were planning something, that last piece must be in Gotham." She switched her coms to get a hold of Luke. "Hey, Luke have you got any reports of possible League of Assassin members in Gotham?"
"Yeah, right was looking into some. 2 got killed by a bunch of killers. Seemed like big trouble."
"Tell Ryan to head to the cave, I'm coming back with Superman and Talia."
"Talia, Talia?"
"Yes, it's fine. We've got bigger problems, like a crazy woman with magic powers coming to start her reign of terror in Gotham unless we stop her."
"Oh, great to hear," Luke replied sarcastically.
The three prepared to head back to Gotham, determined to stop Mara at all costs.
To Be Continued!
Batwoman
Hello everyone, later chapter then usually. I'm trying to be less personal, so to keep short and simple, things have just been crazy. My mind hasn't really had any time to think heavily about the Batwoman or how the story is going, which is unfortunate. I'm hoping heading into 2021 things shall improve and balance out too. No clue, likely not. Let's just hope I'll be able to keep 2 weeks and not have to push 3 going forwards. Life is interesting, wonderful, perfect even, but also extremely stressful, which must sound strange. Thank you for waiting, hope it was worth the wait. Part 2 won't be 5 weeks, promise. Happy holidays to you all.
In Response to C.G
Thank you, it was Thanksgiving for me a month ago cause Canada is odd like that, thank you anyways. I'm happy to hear it was an enjoyable one with your family, and having some good food to eat sounds lovely. Of course, you're well-deserving of the title! Happy holidays as well. I took so long holidays have passed. Now including New Years as well.
I wanted to say as well, apologize if any responses of mine might not be in as depth as usual. As with the last posting, life is insane currently. I hope I gave at least decent responses for everything. I didn't want to push this another week.
Posting #1:
Regarding your season finales – I can agree that season finales should be extra action-packed and memorable. It makes sense making it longer than the typical chapter length, and I'm assuming that'll be for all season finales.
In regards to the semi-related topic -
In regards to the semi-related topic you mentioned – That would be good as post-season content in which you could discuss the evolution/progression of your story after the conclusion of each season.-
Reason for choosing Scarecrow's actor for the story – Oh, okay, I was a little curious and trust your judgement.
Regarding one of the Season 2 title predictions – Oh, that's a great idea, good combo.
Regarding possible inconsistencies of Ryan's past – Fantastic idea, that would make a lot of sense too and cover for myself with screwing up initially with describing with the events that happened.
Regarding the idea for "Batwoman: The Garnet," – Good idea. I thought taking some inspiration from Flashpoint Batman would make a lot of sense. I'm not sure how to feel about her mother almost making Kate give up on being Batwoman. I understand the thought. Still, I guess it depends on when it'd take place during her time as Batwoman. I feel like if anyone would make her consider quitting, it would be her mother. I do like how Ryan and Mary would make her feel differently, perhaps others too. I guess we'll see in the future.
In regards to my response about Alice's storyline going forward – That's alright. The show doesn't give a lot to work with redeeming her wise, even tho they will, without a doubt, eventually. I think your idea will be better. Oh, that's interesting. I know that show always has something going on. My grandfather loved it a lot. I guess it would make sense she's never had a doctor examine her, and I know it can affect some parts of the brain. I'm not 100% sure if it makes complete sense, I'm okay with some things not making absolute sense. I can't currently think of anything better. It's a good twist for the characters and readers. I do like it.
Regarding how you feel about the Arrowverse shows – That's fair. It has been pretty poorly how these shows have been treated. I'm a bit worried about that as well, now that yet another "dc" show has been announced, which I've never heard of the character, and I'm guessing a lot of it would have to be made upon the spot. It's super weird how the shows are being treated with 3 characters. I've hardly any thoughts on getting tv shows. Bizarre and concerning for the future of the Arrowverse ): Hope after this horrible year and hopefully the end of the pandemic, things can back on track, for basically everything.
DC Future State – Oh, that's quite helpful. Sounds somewhat more interesting than it might jump that far into the future of the end of time itself. Hope that it'll be worth the wait, I guess.
Regarding Harper Row – Yes, I figured she'd have to exclude some of that more extreme stuff naturally. I do like having her say words like that. It makes her a little different from everyone else. I was wondering, that's a super exciting idea and a lovely part of the universe connecting unexpectedly. I'd like now having Barry and Iris meeting her, that would be quite a nice moment. I like your thinking about her love life. I'll for sure do all of that. Great ideas as always,
How to name Jacob Kane's endgame plan – I apologize for the error. I wasn't sure how to do it properly. I'll keep this in mind for the future. Thank you.
Love Scenes – I got that impression as well (That's one reason why I thought that, along with her trying to be with Sophie, but ultimately having to let that go. I'll confirm she'll find love during season 3) That's a good guess, I never thought of doing one, but knew that would likely come up. I'm sure it will, considering how close they were in the past for a time.
About Ryan's Job – Yes, I'm sorry for forgetting about that myself. Thank you for reminding me. I think my main thought would be having Ryan be helping Kate make community centers or something? I'm not sure exactly, just something that would impact lower class communities typically ignored and need support. Could it possibly be related to that apparent real estate thing Kate had going on too? I'm open to any of your own or maybe building off my suggestions?
About the character who will usurp Jacob Kane's leadership position of the Crows – I love your ideas and all the thought put into them. This character sounds like quite an interesting one who I'm excited to bring into season 3 or introduce at some point this season, whichever would be best. I genuinely want to express how helpful and amazing this lengthy explanation is. Despite how little I have to say in response, there isn't much I can say other than praising it. I'm okay with Jacob having to try rebuilding the Crows after these events to make them a better force. While of course having to deal with everything else like Beth's teromor which I'm sure would be known about then as well.
On top of that, not having a more potentially helpful version of the Crows around while The Three Ghosts are everywhere must add to the tension and danger. I must say, I'm not sure about having him having a partnership with the main villain. It would seem to make him appear more straight-up evil, or dumb possible? I could just be thinking that about my villain pick in more. However, depending on who, it could work to manipulate him and use his weakness against him to get control, perhaps. My thought would be having the villain and this character be in conflict with him trying to prove himself a superior leader by taking out the villain and their people/followers? Which might have collateral damage to the city and its people.
About Ryan Wilder's Black Bat costume – Thank you for clearing things up, I love your thoughts, and you have a good way of explaining them. I'm not 100% sure which suit you mean, quite sure you're not talking about her well-known Black Bat-suit that I think she's back in currently with the covered face? I see one with the expected domino mask (or none in some) and that scarf cape you mentioned that looks like The Black Bat costume with some tweaks. I like it, and it does suck it wasn't used more. I'm hoping that's the right one, I saw another one, but it seems more like an armour look? That is a pretty good in-universe explanation for all that. I'll for sure use it.
About Ryan's Break-Up with Whisper in the Season finale – Fantastic idea. I pretty much thought this exactly, maybe not word for word, but close, and I love it. I'll indeed have this be how it goes down and having Ryan and Harper have to deal with a returning Whisper one day, likely after there together. A literally way of dealing with past baggage, I guess lol. Thank you for the suggestions, as always.
Ryan's big fight in the Season finale – Thank you, this description for Ryan's final big battle helps a ton. I struggle quite a bit with setting up action. This is by far more exciting than anything I would've come up with. It's fantastic.
About Harper's Role in Season 3 – That's a great basic idea for the beginning of how Harper would find Kate and how things would go from there. I like it a lot. I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on how long Kate should be out of commission? I'm thinking perhaps for the first episode, until the end, it shouldn't be clear what happened to Kate. Then episode 2/chapter 2 could partially flashback showing Harper finding Kate and such, along with naming the episode "Whatever Happened to Kate Kane?" In reference to season 2's first episode. Maybe from there, have the team discover Kate and have her wake up in episode 4? I'm not sure if that would be long enough or too long. I'd also be happy with Harper making small appearances or even helping out in some way with the bigger plot by the end, along with building her relationship off with Ryan.
PS. About Batman: Earth One, Volume 3 – Oh, that's exciting to hear about. I hope they'll meet that date. I read the description given, and it seems interesting, hoping the wait shall be worth it.
The important stuff you need to know/remember as you write the crossover:
Thank you for all that stuff. Sorry to not give a more significant response. I hope I kept a good amount of it, and I'll be trying to get the rest in during part 2.
Character Portrayal Suggestions:
They do very much help greatly, along with all the other suggestions given as always. Thank you, dearly.
Knife (aka. Tahani) – Yes, she is. I've never seen her before, but she seems like a good pick. You're very good with them and for the rest of them below.
Proctor (first name currently unknown) – That's a great choice. I've not watched the show, but looking him up makes sense.
Catwoman (Selina Kyle) – Another one from S.W.A.T, I'm sure you must like it, another great choice I'll use thank you.
The guy who will usurp Jacob Kane's Leadership of the Crows in Season 3 – That's good thinking. I'm not entirely sure which one to chose right now. I do understand your thinking and like your thinking as always.
Regarding DC Database Wiki, the Many Arms of Death - I read that, and it's quite interesting. It had the added benefit of having Scarecrow be "The Needle." I do wonder if I should add any more "field operatives," It seems odd Safiyah wouldn't bring more back up, but oh well, maybe she's just confident.
In regards to Desert Rose/plot - That's a pretty fantastic idea. I'm embarrassed now by mine, lol. It's quite sinister and an excellent use for that "universal" cure. I am a little iffy on a basically zombie-like virus being a significant danger. It's different for the CW universe, and I guess it was bound to happen somewhere. It's an exciting combination you thought of, and I'll 100% do it. I'll just assume it doesn't get released to the public, or things would be taking a pretty dark turn. Maybe it could have that happen in a dark multiverse. Later on, it could be interesting seeing what a zombie-like apocalypse would do to Batwoman and friends. I can agree Scarecrow would be wanting his Arkham Knight plan to happen, but I'll have to disagree with him getting killed. Considering he killed Ryan's mom, it doesn't seem like the best idea to kill him off so quickly. He still could have some struggles if he ever was to return or something. Perhaps Safiyah could try and fail to kill him, leaving a bounty on his head which would make him go into hiding? I just personally feel more could be done with him later, not as a main villain, but a possible recurring one that leaves Ryan still having that desire to bring him down, just not as strongly, but always lingering remembering her mother. I do like Mary getting kidnapped due to having part of the cure inside of her blood still partially. I like the Arrow season 7 connection too, great thinking back. All that sounds amazing, of course, I'll for sure be using all of this, apart from that skeptic part about Scarecrow's death so soon. This all does make sense to me. I wanted to give a more extended response so show I understand entirely. Still, I'm trying to hurry as, at the time of writing this, the chapter is 2 weeks late. Sorry if I didn't give a great response to your well throughout idea for this element. I'll likely be rereading a lot of what you've said as the back half begins. Thank you as always.
PS I. Alright, I can, for sure, do that. Would that have flashbacks to that day of their final battle? I'm not sure if it's too early to ask questions about what you're thinking exactly.
PS II. Alright, will do.
PS III That's a great idea. I didn't think of that. I'll for sure add that in. It'd be nice having her remark about those parallels between them.
PS IV. That's a great idea. I do remember reading that. Perhaps she could show up during this Crossover due to the byrtral from Demon's Fist of screwing their dealings. Or showing up to get revenge on Taila for past events? Could it lead up to Taila, giving some assistance to beat her in the future? I'm not sure, just sharing thoughts.
Random Topics:
DC Future State is actually NOT 5G After All. Oh, that's pretty shocking, so weird whatever is happening behind the senses. At least it's not replacing all the characters. A possible future is an improvement, and I'm curious how the End of Time will work. Does suck they set-up from Doomsday Clock seems to be for nothing and Doctor Manhattan! That might have been pretty cool!
One Particular Julia Pennyworth Storyline Plot from Season One – Oh, I forgot about that. Thank you for the reminder. I'll likely try to do a storyline for that. (Pretty sure you used it right, I'm not too bright, so I can't say for sure)
Should Julia Face Enemies from Her Father's Past? – That's a pretty good assumption. I've not seen much of it, but it does seem decent. Great idea. I think if she's around a
bunch and has room/time for sure could have her do that, could be interesting!
Safiya and Tahani – Yes, you're right. That's what I was building towards with all that, which would make her consistently try to prove her worth to Saifiyah, which I am thinking shall have a tragic end for her. Never being enough for Saifyah ultimately and dying for her apparent love. I thought of more details, I can share if you wish.
Tahani's Skills – Yeah, I'd hope so, lol. (Hope that doesn't come off as mocking at all, apologizes, I've been having bad luck with my wording/tone/idk as of late) Yes, I'd assume that would make sense. It would be odd if she only learned one bladed weapon throughout her life, good thinking.
Possible flashback of Jacob and Gabi Kane at Thomas and Martha's funeral? – That would be an exciting idea, just not sure of the context, and I'm not sure which issue that would be in Detective Comics. Still, I like it a lot. It would be nice to see their perspective.
Court of Owls – I thought that too, I may or may not have already put possible set up. I know this will have to be a later season. That is a pretty shocking plot twist. I like that surprise a lot. I'm sure it would shock the team and readers too. Would it make sense if Dick Grayson would be seen before these events happen? Like he might return for some reason in an earlier season or just mentions or flashbacks, I'm not sure. Whatever you'd think might work better to give a possible more significant impact when that would happen, along with the mystery being bigger, knowing he'd never join them willingly.
PS. I'm excited about your idea, and I'm guessing it would be around episode 14-19 or so? I'm sure either of us would come up with a title by the time that chapter comes along. Yes, I do remember all we discussed and will remind myself of all that to be sure. I'll be sure to do that. Thank you for the reminder.
Tentative Summary: I love your tentative summary. I'm most likely to use it ultimately. (On a side note, I realized at this point I nearly forgot to include the summary for this chapter) I'm assumed Kate and Julia wouldn't be around. I do like the set up of Ryan and the team having to help prove this person's innocence, and I guess the corruption surrounding that.
Alright, I never heard of this person, but I trust your judgement. I'll for sure add all those details in, her and Ryan's relationship and such. I'll be sure to likely add flashbacks as well. I like the idea of giving them that kinda relationship, and it makes sense. I'd be happy finally mentioning his siblings, too and having Luke be so active with wanting to help Ryan help her friend seems like an excellent development for them both. I like it a lot. Thank you as always for the suggestions.
Luke's Explanation for Kate's Miraculous Survival in Season 3 – That's a brilliant and extremely helpful explanation/directions for the events of explaining. Along with can agree a perfect reason to want a new suit. (Sorry for how short my response is, it's brilliant. I promise that's a massive help, thank you very much)
Extra Details about "The Three Ghosts of Batwoman" – Yes, I remember that posting, which is a pretty great idea. I'll be sure to add it in. I appreciate these extra details.
Bat-Soldier – I love the description and the wording of it. It's quite intense and well said, I like it a lot. I'll, of course, remember to put this in.
Bat-Beast – That's a great way of describing them. It is quite horrible what they experience. I do have to say, I am a little confused/curious how exactly Kate would indirectly cause some of their loss and create her. Perhaps I misunderstand something. I apologize. Your idea is fantastic, of course. I'm just not understanding it completely, which is likely my own fault. I love the shaman's description above and below, very well written.
Bat-Demon – That's quite an exciting past/origin, adds significantly to the mystery and horror of what she is, along with the connection to the Kane family and partial to Kate and Alice. I love how it's a possible origin and how unclear Bat-Demon is to our heroes. It's quite scary having so little understanding and all those possible connections. I genuinely love it very much. As usual, The Three Ghosts are quite a fantastic part of your suggestions. Wish they could appear in the comics in some form even. It's that fantastic and deserves that treatment.
Thank you for adding more details to how/why Kate forgot that whole experience, it'll be interesting when she finally does revisit. All these details can be put into the story. Looking forward to it immensely.
Jacob Kane hallucinating Gabi and Kate during his self-destructive period – That's possible. Hallucinations are usually a sign of something worse from my understanding, oh well, whatever. I can add it in. Good idea. I'd assume two things wouldn't be great for him mentally after failing his attempt.
Potential Temporary Trust Issues? – Yes, I was planning on that happening due to that, and like you suggested being quickly resolved, never fun when something dragged out.
Harper Row Season 3 Episodes After Helping Kate Kane – That makes a lot of sense. I'll do that and can agree with your thinking. Looking forward to when she'll eventually join up with the team.
New trailer for Season 2 of Batwoman - I for sure would be fine with adding that once getting to Season 2's finale and such, your reasoning makes perfect sense. Thank you for thinking of it.
Last message you left (not sure what to call it, sorry) - Yes, I still am incredibly thankful for your assistance/advice/suggestions throughout this writing journey. Yeah, I can understand not knowing if you will be watching. I will personally, I've watched them all till now. Hopefully, one of the shows will turn around the current state of the universe. Yes, it was a lot, and I'm happy you are excited about it all. At least it's something to be looking forward to tv wise. I can understand your perspective pretty well. I think you've said it better than others I've seen speak about it. I'm sorry it's upset you so much. It's all a pretty big mess. I do understand not wanting to recast with respect to him passing away. I do wish that they could've asked what he wanted, or we at least heard his thoughts on the matter, even tho asking him about it might not have been kind to him. Idk, it's all very complicated, and unfortunately, Black Panther won't have time to shine and grow further. I guess it'll be sometime before we'll see how it all turns out. It's overall a tragic situation where nobody really seems to win. Yeah, not an excellent way for 2020 to end, but expected from this miserable year. Best of luck with the following ones.
Hopefully, many things will improve, along with my pitiful speed of writing as of late.
Second, most resent posting - Thank you very much. I'm glad you had an enjoyable one with your family. Yes, I saw that too, along with the false face society appear playing some part, more than one episode from how it was described. I'm baffled about what's going on in this season from all we know, and it seems like fake Bruce will be dealt with quickly.
That is surprising. At least it's close enough, and I'm happy being a little different from the show. I understand all of that, and I hope your theory won't end up correct, hard to tell with how little and oddly much we've hard. If you do end up watching or hearing things, hope it won't be to horrible. I'm very thankful for how you feel about my work being a better continuation and being more qualified. Finally, yes, I would like to hear your unpleasant theory. I'm sure at this point, it appears the show's future might be set in stone. I'm still interested from curiosity what might happen, even if it's unpleasant. Take your time with it, don't need to rush.
For your most recent posting - Yes, I'm sure for having that feeling come to you. I am glad and guilty you are so concerned. You're not overreacting. To keep short and simple, (I think) life has been insane since I last posted on November 27, which was coincidently my birthday. I still made more writing progress lately. The next day, life changed positively when I met someone. However, with how my mind works, it appears this life change shock up my mind quite a bit, making me heavily unfocused and stressed in other areas I normally wouldn't be, primarily writing. That's slightly been improving until they started becoming more distant these past few days, which added more to that stress in my mind of everything going wrong pretty much. This message made me kick into gear with finally finishing this chapter, which I'm thankfully about and has given that escape I've not been having for about 5 weeks while writing. Always had my mind elsewhere until now, so thank you again. I'm very much hoping part 2 will be faster. I think it will. Usually, the more alone I am, the more work is done, so that's something. Your message was greatly appreciated. I've not had a message checking in on me based on concern sometime now. Thank you for caring, hoping to get back on track this year and manage my writing time better.
Best wishes to you and your family. Thank you again.
