Chapter 37: No sleep

Shizuo couldn't have looked any more perplexed even if he had tried.

The music was still going loud and Shinra had nodded off in a corner of the room.

Eyes bright and filled with interest, Shizuo realized Izaya had been talking to him.

He hadn't paid attention at all-

"What?" he uttered quickly, hoping that Izaya would blame the volume of their men's cheers.

But the attempt had been in vain.

Lips slightly apart in mild confusion now turned into a sleek smile as Izaya hummed.

He didn't know what exactly had shifted the mood into this direction, but he saw Shizuo's gaze and he wasn't dense enough to not get its meaning.

A glance was cast sideways towards their men, the tables, the room in general, but no one seemed to pay them any mind, and so Izaya leant forward.

Soft, like a bumblebee hovering over the first bud of spring he neared Shizuo's ear before he whispered.

"If you keep staring at me like that we might have to go somewhere private."

Awkward heat flushed Shizuo's mind and he swallowed for two reasons- one for obviously having been caught in his quite indecent thoughts- and two for the boner that was now slowly but surely starting to make itself apparent.

Shizuo had never been more glad for the white linen shirt that conveniently hid that area of his body.

"I didn't. It's just-" Awkwardness defined his voice and he cleared his throat shortly.

In a playful mood Izaya snorted as he raised one of his brows.

"What?" And god damn, that hickey only started becoming more and more apparent the longer Shizuo was aware of its existence.

Hesitation marked his moves, and yet suddenly he leaned in- close, much closer than Izaya had anticipated as his eyes widened softly.

And then just like that Shizuo was at his ear.

Alluringly close, his breath hot and low-

"You have a hickey on your neck."

Quietly as if having done nothing out of place Shizuo leaned back as Izaya processed the piece of information he had been given.

Right.

A hickey.

It made sense that he had one from that time- everything was clear, really, and yet Izaya suddenly found his thoughts vastly disarranged.

Because at that moment, when Shizuo leaned forward-

Izaya thought he was going to kiss him.

Which was stupid of course because there were way too many people present and he doubted Shizuo was the kind of guy to do such a thing openly and yet-

Shaking his head quickly, Izaya fished for his glass of wine.

"I think I have had too much wine," he chuckled softly as his lips touched the rim of the glass. Had he looked forward to it?

"Why?"

Izaya laughed. "Why you-" Silence.

Izaya's words died faster than an interruption could have made them stop as he met Shizuo's gaze.

It was serious, hard, yet gentle and also extremely … alluring.

His eyes seemed as though they were searching for something and Izaya suddenly felt very much aware of how close the two of them were.

Of the room.

The music playing so loud, yet so distant to both of them. Their men, dancing not minding them at all as they were a bit off from the crowd. Candles darker than usual as they were nearing their end.

It was so loud and lively yet so awfully quiet and still.

Shizuo and him-

They were dancing- just not with their bodies, but with their words. And messing up even one word seemed to have consequences even worse to stumbling.

Not once breaking eye contact Izaya swallowed the lump of insecurity forming in his throat as he spoke up. "Say, as my bodyguard-"

"Am I?" Shizuo was faster to reply then Izaya was at coming up with a response.

He felt oddly cornered, but god heavens not in a bad way.

"You were the one who offered," he reminded coily and Shizuo suddenly popped a soft smile.

"And you declined."

They matched. Izaya didn't know what kind of music they were dancing to, but it appeared it was the same. Words woven carefully so as to not tear the crafted path Izaya whispered, "I might have changed my mind."

Step by step the imaginary dance continued. A smile was flashed, words growing more and more quiet by the second.

Shizuo absentmindedly licked his lips as he averted his gaze before quickly bringing it back. "I thought you wanted privacy."

Another step, further, beyond a line that was approaching faster than a speeding train.

Izaya matched the mood as he leaned closer. "You are in my room 24/7 anyway as far as I noticed." Beautiful and smooth, the conversation was steered into the direction Izaya desired. His throat was running dry, his chest feeling tight as Shizuo replied.

"Well, do you mind?"

Hell no. Was the first response that came to mind but Izaya quickly caught himself from speaking his direct intention. "Not really."

Ah.

A dead end.

The response had been too quick. Too short.

Shizuo remained silent, waiting for more, but what was Izaya supposed to say?

It was funny, he was gifted with a silver tongue and yet right now he could think of nothing to keep the conversation going.

Nothing indirect that is-

And so he hesitated. Just for a moment. It was do or die and so he leaped, right towards the partner of this dance.

"What would you do? Watch me sleep the entire night?" The words were uttered a bit too fast, a bit too hesitant and too direct for Izaya's tastes as he heard his own lips voice them aloud.

Too far.

He was making a fool of himself wasn't he?

All of a sudden the volume of the room seemed to increase and Izaya was terribly aware of how silly he was behaving.

This was Shizuo- and yes he had complied with him once and yes he found him to be very, very attractive, but no one was to say he had the same intentions.

Insecurity befell the flea like a plague and he quickly lowered his gaze to the glass he had unconsciously kept the whole time.

This was stupid. He was the captain. He had matters to tend to, things to prepare.

He should finish this glass, go to his room, retreat for the night, and next time he would-

All thoughts came to an instant halt as Shizuo moved. Not a shred of hesitation marked his expression. His gaze was serious, unconflicted and mesmerizingly deep.

Drowned, as if having submerged into water once more the noises of the room faded and the light cone illuminated the dance floor of them both.

Izaya could feel Shizuo's hair tickle his cheek as the blond leaned towards his ear. Brushing his shoulder and neck a few tips of hair were shoved aside as Shizuo whispered low. "... with me there I don't think you would get to sleep."

Enough.

Throat gone dry and breath stuttering slightly, Izaya relished in the warmth that seemed to radiate from Shizuo's body.

That-

Went right to his groin.

Withdrawing again way too quick to Izaya's tastes a slight tinge of embarrassment seemed to have befallen Shizuo as he cleared his throat.

Of course.

He was waiting for a reply. An answer.

Izaya was more than ready to give one.

The glass of wine was put down faster than Izaya had ever remembered placing one as he reached for Shizuo`s wrist. Quick and smooth, calling surprise to the blond's expression he stood from the table-

No words were said, no glances exchanged as Shizuo found himself perplexed and on the move as his captain headed right towards the door of the room.

Their men didn't notice a single thing. Busily drinking, dancing and doing something that was probably supposed to be singing they enjoyed what was left of their celebratory night. No one saw them move, no one cared to even look, and so the door slipped shut and the music drowned as the two exited into the hallway.

It was awfully quiet and dark compared to the well lit room and Shizuo found himself in a bit of a tight spot as he wasn't clearly aware of what exactly the purpose of being brought here was.

"Izaya-" he whispered shortly, ready to receive some kind of scolding for overstepping a line, after all Izaya was still his captain. What if he had read the mood wrong? His words had been more than just direct and could be identified as rude.

But all these worries flew out of the window when Izaya grabbed the hem of Shizuo's shirt and trapped him in a kiss.

It was surprisingly soft, hesitant and unsure. Like a set of cherries accidentally bumping into each other.

A soft chuckle resounded from Izaya as his lips hovered over Shizuo's.

"Forgive me. If I misunderstood anything, now would be the time to tell me."

No, Izaya had not misunderstood. Shizuo had merely been surprised. Overtaken that Izaya was taking the initiative- but seeing Izaya-

His gaze, suddenly so vulnerable, insecure and unsure-

It was as if someone had fanned a fire into surging flames.

Without losing even a second Shizuo's arms circled the raven as they turned.

Within seconds Izaya found his back pressed into the wall- a leg between his thighs- and lips merging with his own.

The kiss was intense, hands were where they weren't supposed to be. First at Izaya's neck, then down his shirt, his waist- before long Shizuo`s hands moved down and grasped Izaya's thighs. He was lifted effortlessly and their groins pushed against each other.

The kiss was broken, and gazes met between a set of harsh breaths before Shizuo leaned into Izaya's throat. Kisses and an occasional set of soft bites aligned along Izaya's jugular vein and the raven groaned into Shizuo's shoulder.

"Shizu-chan-" The soft sound of a stuttered moan rippled through the silence of the corridor and the two stilled for a moment.

Cheering sounds stemming from the inside of the room drowned their harsh breathing for a second as they looked at each other.

Izaya looked wild.

His hair was disheveled, his shirt had become loose enough for Shizuo to roam wherever he pleased and those thighs-

Shizuo was so close to losing all sense of reason.

"...your room?" he uttered quickly and quietly. And to his great relief Izaya instantly understood. A quick nod was given and much faster and more agile than Shizuo had expected him to be, he lept off him.

Shizuo's wrist was grabbed as though Izaya feared he was dumb enough to lose the way and so he dragged him after.

A flight of stairs passed- soft chuckles filled the peace of the otherwise empty building as the two advanced.

Izaya was more than delighted, horny, happy-

And so they turned into the corridor leading to Izaya's room.

"Captain Orihara."

Cold as a knife cutting freshly made butter the voice tore through the silence. A figure was standing in front of Izaya's room and the two of them stilled, all happiness wiped from their faces.

Shizuo recognized the man.

Akabayashi.

Adjusting his attire at the speed of lightning, Izaya found his voice quicker than Shizuo could even hope to as he approached his direct superior.

"Akabayashi," he said slowly, his expression serious, "what brings you here?"

Glancing back and forth between the two, Akabayashi seemed reluctant to execute his duty.

A sigh left his lips as he spoke the words and Izaya's expression dropped.

"You are called to court."

to be continued~

Well if this dude isn't the most massive cockblock I have ever written then I don't know who is xDDDDD

Sorry for stopping right there hahaha but oh well shit is going to go down xD

100 points to anyone who can guess what they are called to court for~ ;3

I'm sorry I have been neglecting this story for a while- I promise I will be dishing out some pretty devastating updates soon again~! xDD

Whether that's good or not you can choose lmao xD

But fear not! The next update won't take another eternity xD Saturday is the date of the next installment and it will be great C:

Also, I have not only returned to update all my stories, BUT I have also finalized the date my Trilogy is going to start xD

First week of December 2023 will be the release of Yultesra part 1/3!

For those who don't know, I have been working on a fantasy trilogy for the past 10+ years and now the time has finally come to get it published xD

And well… I decided to upload the book here xD

That's right, you will get the entire first book xD

Every Saturday you will get another chapter until the end of November and in the first week of December I will physically publish the first part of Yultesra :3

I know you will probably ask, huh, why upload it here? No one will buy it if one can read it for free online….?

And you are right xD

But the thing is apparently when self-publishing my books on amazon only people from England, Germany/Austria and America can actually purchase a physical copy so far. And I know from reader stats on fanfiction that there are a lot of other countries who read my works, Russia, Japan etc. and so I thought I just didn't want to exclude those people from the story :3

Also, I am not writing to become rich anyway xD

All in front I want people to enjoy the plots and stories I come up with, so if you want to support me and it's an available option in your country you can purchase my book, but if you can't that's also fine :3

I'm just as happy and content to read your lovely comments xD

The first Shizaya stories were written so badly- and yet you stayed xDDD Some of you have been following me for years, some even became my closest friends, and some might have just joined- welcome to those who just stumbled across my works haha

So this book is like a gift to you all, for having accompanied me for almost ten years in my writing journey xD

With that being said… Enjoy! xD
