Bertrand looked through his scope at the main Texan Empire Army as Karma laid next to him.
"So, anything to report?" Karma asked as he checked his rifle for what felt like the fifth time.
"Nothing new... but it's strange... According to the reports the Texan Empire and Bertrand Republic are allies, right?" Bertrand said as he looked at Karma. a look of confusion took over Karma's face
"Yeah?"
"Well from what I'm seeing... they're not as united as the report stated. I think their emperor is being held captive to make the army work along with the Bertrand Republic."
"Seriously?" Karma took a look for himself. He saw what looked like Bertrand Republic members bullying the Texan Empire members and pushing them around.
"Hm. I can see it." Karma said as he was shocked at the Bertrand Republic. Bertrand nodded his head and noted what looked like a cell area.
"wanna go invis?" Bertrand said as he looked at Karma.
"Sure, but only if there's no chance that it can fail. I'm not living out a cliche of invisibility giving out on us while we're in the middle of an enemy camp."
"Trust me, my Itona is 99.99% sure it won't fail." Bertrand said as they backed off and moved back to their humvee
"... I guess that'll have to do." Karma said as he got in the passenger seat. Bertrand nodded his head and drove their silent Humvee to a nearby spot. Covering it in Foliage, Bertrand turned on the invisible device and it cloaked the two of them. He then led Karma through the Encampment and they noticed how bad the Texan Empire soldiers were truly being treated.
"HEY! Texan Imp! Get me some more water." Shouted a Bertrand Republic soldier who was closest to the water Jug.
The Texan soldier tried to be defiant, but several Bertrand Republic soldiers beat him down to near unconsciousness. Others tried to intervene, but they were halted in their tracks.
One Texan soldier got the water and accidentally spilled it on the Bertrand Republic Soldier.
"Clumsy moron!" the soldier snapped before backfisting the Texan, knocking him down. He gritted his teeth, but stayed down as the Bertrand Republic soldier patted the wet spot down.
Bertrand and Karma got to the Jail cell and looked at each other before entering the cell where Emperor Jesse Jones was being held.
"Hello there!" Karma said as they revealed themselves. The guards were stunned and vulnerable as they were easily knocked out and defeated.
"Who are you two?" Emperor Jones said in a weak voice. Bertrand broke the lock easily and checked on the Emperor.
"We're the good guys. We're here to help."
"He's been dehydrated and is malnourished. This is a war crime." Bertrand said as he picked up the Emperor.
"Wait... what about my army? they'll be massacred." Emperor Jones said
"J," Karma said, avoiding revealing Bertand's identity, "These guys employed Nazis. You think they care? And for your army, it'll be tough, but we'll take care of it."
Bertrand nodded his head and looked at the weak emperor.
"We'll be back for them." He told the emperor before placing a device on the ground that made it look like the Emperor was still in the cell before cloaking the three of them.
Later, the two were standing in front of Nagisa, who was sitting at the table, contemplating what he was told.
"Morally speaking, you did the right thing. But now things are difficult. If we want to save the Texan army, we'll have to fight them. At least at first. Though, there are some benefits, and there is a way we can deal with them."
"How's that Nagisa?" Karma asked the general before Yukiko walked in.
"The Emperor is recovering" Yukiko told the three
"That's good. He'll be important for our plan." Nagisa quickly informed them of his plan, and they agreed it could work.
"THat's a good plan Nagisa. I like it." Karma said with a smile.
"I'll make sure the army's ready to move out." Bertrand said with determination.
"The Emperor will need to be helped, but I'm sure he'll make it." Yukiko said with compassion. Nagisa nodded his head and looked at the map.
"We might even get a new ally in this war."
After a few days, Emperor Jesse Jones stood in battle armor as Nagisa looked at him with a smile.
"Got to say, I'm impressed with how quickly you gathered yourself." Nagisa said to the Emperor. Emperor Jones smiled and nodded his head.
"Thank you, It's because of your alliance that freed me. I am forever in your debt." Emperor Jones said to Nagisa and Bertrand
"You're welcome. Now, are you ready for the plan?"
Emperor Jones nodded his head again.
"I am, let us free me people from the terror of what your people have told me about." he said with Determination
"Let's hope things go well." Nagisa said to himself
Bertrand nodded his head and the three went to war. Later, Bertrand and Emperor Jones looked at the encampment from where he and Karma looked on.
"I warned you about what you see." Bertrand said as Emperor Jones looked at what had happened to his imperial Army.
"... I see. I suppose I should be thankful that things aren't as bad as they could be." the Emperor said.
"Yes, but once your army hears your commanding voice again, I'm sure they will revolt against their former allies." Bertrand said as he and Emperor Jones crawled away from the top and went to the humvee where Nagisa and Karma were waiting for them
"Alright, Bertrand, are the troops in place?" Nagisa asked Bertrand
Bertrand nodded his head as a Mega speaker was placed out of sight but would be good enough for Emperor Jones's men to hear him. Meanwhile, SW John glared at Emperor Jones with hatred and disgust and Yukiko saw him like that.
"Is everything okay?"
"No, nothing is ok. We're helping an Emperor take back his land. That man disgusts me." SW John said with Venom in his voice.
"Forgive my comrade here. Since we were taken from our Earth by the Galactic Empire, we all have a small hatred for Emperor's of any kind." SW Nagisa said as he fixed up his rifle
"I see. But while I'll let you think what you want, as you have every right to, I will report you to Nagisa if I think that your dislike will threaten the mission."
SW John and SW Nagisa nodded their heads and walked off as Emperor Jones began to speak to his men. In the Encampment, the Texan Empire Soldiers heard their Emperor speak.
"Soldiers of the Texan Imperial Army, no longer will you have to listen to what the Bertrand Republic soldiers tell you, the Japanese Alliance from the West have freed me. Rise up, and Take the ENCAMPMENT!" He said and hearing that, Nagisa looked at his men.
"Now!" Nagisa yelled, causing the Japanese Alliance to charge out and immediately taking down the Bertrand Republic. The Bertrand Republic tried to fight back and hold the Texans hostage, but the Texans, reinvigorated by their leader, immediately began fighting back as well.
"FOR THE EMPIRE!" Shouted a chained Texan Empire General as he used his chains to pull the guard with the keys into a choke hold as other prisoners grabbed the gun and keys to free them. Soon after the entire Encampment was in their control. Emperor Jones walked among his men as his general walked up to him and knelt before him.
"Emperor Jones, we're happy to see you're safe." The General said to Emperor Jones. Emperor Jones smiled and knelt to the general.
"Rise General Stark, if it weren't for the Japanese Alliance, I would still be imprisoned." Emperor Jones said with a smile. Bertrand called for medics for the wounded and the cooking staff to prepare food and water for the Texan soldiers. Later, the Texan Empire soldiers that were there were dubbed the Free Texans.
"Emperor Jones. General Macknamarra is a traitor to the empire." General Stark said to his leader and their allied leaders.
"What?! So that's how things ended up the way they did." Emperor Jones said as he felt disgust from the traitor. Bertrand looked at Nagisa and they nodded their heads.
"General Stark, where is General Macknamarra held up?" Nagisa asked the General.
"In the Capital, Houston." He replied
"Alright, we'll have to deal with him. But for now, let's get your men treated. Unfortunately we're running low on resources, so things are gonna be rather minimal." Nagisa pointed out.
"I understand, thank you again for helping me free my fellow Texans so far." Emperor Jones said as he knelt to Nagisa, showing his loyalty to him.
"Can we count on you to help us out in our time of need?" Nagisa said, having some doubts. Emperor Jones nodded his head and gave Nagisa a Custom made M1911 Pistol.
"Consider it my gift to you. That the Free Texans are at your disposal." He said with determination
"Thank you."
Bertrand chuckled at the sight. Later, the Medics were working as best as they could to tend to the wounded Free Texans as Emperor Jones was at the communications station and sent out a broadcast to his empire.
"My fellow Texans. I, Emperor Jesse Jones, am free from the lies and falsehoods of the Bertrand Republic. Their Puppet, General Macknamarra, is a traitor, as are all who stand with him. I call upon all who wish to free the Texan Empire from their grasp. I know we've all been through enough war. I wish I could say the fighting is over. but the fighting is never over. As long as there are people like President Bertrand and General Macknamarra, there will always be Conflict. I was once a prisoner, but now I am free thanks to the Japanese Alliance. They have freed me and my most loyal men from the Bertrand Republic and we are the Free Texans. Those who stand with us, rise up and join us in the liberation of our homes, our lands, OUR EMPIRE!"
"OUR EMPIRE!" The Texan Empire cheered.
In the Capital, General Macknamarra and his loyal followers heard that Broadcast too and soon the City was in an uproar.
"CALL IN MORE ARMY UNITS! KILL THE PROTESTORS!" Shouted General Macknamarra.
"STORM THE BASE! KILL THE GENERAL!" One maniacal protester screamed.
The Texan Imperial Army still loyal to General Macknamarra opened fire on the crowd as the Japanese Alliance encircled the city with the help of their new allies
"Chiba, do you see Macknamarra?"
"He's held up in what I think is the IMperial palace... I seriously can't believe I said that about the State Capital Building for Texas." Ryu said as he looked though his scope.
"Do you have a clear shot?" Nagisa asked over the radio.
"Negative, from what I was just informed by a local resistance fighter, those windows are bulletproof and I can't get a shot at his head." Ryu Replied
"Is there a way you can get him?"
"Not without intense Casualties"
"Try to find a way. If you can't get through the window, then find another shot."
"Roger that." Ryu said as he put his sniper rifle on his back before looking at the resistance fighters, "Is there another way to get in there?"
"Not unless you can get through that sea of death." the resistance fighter said pointing at the crowd below. Looking down at the protesters, Ryu saw them being massacred and radioed into Nagisa.
"Nagisa the Protesters are being slaughtered, we have to move the Army now!"
"They're already moving in!" Nagisa said. "Provide sniper support! Hayami, you take over for Chiba!"
"Roger." Rinka said as she began running through buildings and jumping through windows.
Ryu aimed down and opened fire at the Texan army loyal to Macknamarra.
"IT'S THE EMPEROR!" Shouted a protester as he made way for Emperor Jones, Bertrand, General Stark, Nagisa, and Karma. the Protesters bowed to their leader.
"We're here to help! Evacuate your wounded!" Nagisa barked before turning to his soldiers. "Move in!"
"YES SIR!" Shouted the Soldiers under Nagisa.
Bertrand busted through the defense line and broke several rifles.
Emperor Jones shot those he deemed to be traitors before seeing General Macknamarra on the balcony protected by counter snipers.
"Sire, Macknamarra is on the balcony now!"
"Hayami! Take the shot!" Nagisa shouted.
"I see it." Rinka said as she aimed
Rinka was about to take the shot but was grabbed and slammed against the wall and taken prisoner.
"IF YOU WANT THIS GIRL TO LIVE! STAND DOWN NOW!" Shouted Macknamarra as he pointed at Rinka being held with a knife to her throat.
"Damn. I was careless." Rinka cursed. Suddenly a bullet shot the knife out of her attacker's hand, and she immediately began wrestling with them, trying to overpower the soldiers. Ryu tried to fire at Macknamarra, but his rescue tactic revealed his location and forced him to dodge sniper fire.
Bertrand Jumped up and helped Rinka by breaking the soldier's arms.
"You good?" he asked Rinka as he helped her up. He then got hugged by her
"Yeah, thanks." She said before picking up her rifle and jumping to the next building as the two dodged more sniper fire.
Bertrand saw Macknamarra head into the building.
"HE's Ducked back inside! I'm gonna go get him!" Bertrand said into his Radio
"Good luck! Don't be reckless!" Nagisa said back.
Bertrand jumped onto the patio and broke the rifles of several of general Macknamarra's guards.
"The Japanese Alliance is here. I NEED REINFORCEMENTS!" General Macknamarra shouted into a phone where the Grand Grim Reaper was back in the universe.
"What you need, is to be silent. You had one job, one duty. And you failed. Your services are no longer needed."
"YOU PROMISED ME A MIGHTY TEXAN EMPIRE! YOU PROMISED ME POWER!" General Macknamarra shouted as Bertrand kicked the door open.
"Next time get in writing." The Grand Grim Reaper said as he heard a single impact, then someone else picking up the phone.
"Listen to me right now you son of a bitch. You corrupted this world and it's leaders. I know what happened 10 years ago in here. I know what caused the collapse, and by god... I will not stop until you are either chained, or dead. You hear me... John." Bertrand said after knocking out General Macknamarra, not knowing Nagisa heard what he said.
"Oh, John. Your facade as a hero is quite, unamusing. I wonder how long it'll be before you stop poking your nose where it doesn't belong."
"I don't care how long it will take. We will stop you like we stopped you in our world." Bertrand said as he smashed his fist into the table
"That is a future that has yet to have any grounds to be called true. We'll see." The Grand Grim Reaper hung up.
Bertrand cursed and hung up the phone as he sat down in the chair and sighed. Later, he dragged General Macknamarra outside to the leaders and tossed his out cold body to their feet. That was when he saw Nagisa look at him with a look of shock and confusion.
"So. Were you thinking of telling me about the Grand Grim Reaper?" Nagisa asked Bertrand
"What? What are you talking about? I told you about him already." Bertrand said in confusion
Nagisa pointed at his radio. "You didn't turn this off, John."
Bertrand checked his and paled when he saw it was still on.
"So... you heard my end of the conversation." Bertrand said as he looked at Nagisa. the others looked between them with confusion.
"We'll talk about this later, in private. For now, let's finish cleaning up." Nagisa gave him a stern look. Bertrand agreed but Karma stopped them.
"Hang on, I heard what you heard Nagisa. I for one want to know about how he knew about the collapse 10 years ago when we met him this year!" Karma said as he looked at Bertrand
"So do I Karma, but we have more important things to deal with right now. So deal with them." Nagisa said firmly.
Karma clenched his fist and walked off. Bertrand was left alone as Sugino and Shiota joined him.
"I think we're in deep shit." Shiota said. Sugino and Bertrand nodded their heads
"I know Nagisa... it was my call to keep it a secret so I'll tell them when we're done... I'll tell them about the collapse." Bertrand said before the three of them helped with the wounded.
