Disclaimer I don't own a song of ice and fire all i own are my OC's
After a couple nights of practice I was able to enter the fox at will even without looking in it's direction. from the books it says that dog is the easiest way to learn because they were breed to be companies to humans while ws you had to earn their trust or they would fight you every time a bear would go mad after a while and would try to kill you every time you left it's skin and a shadow cat you couldn't form a bond it would always try to escape. The fox seemed to be between the shadow cat and the wolf, always trying to escape in the back of its mind but it also didn't fight me when I entered its mind. the more I warged into the fox the easier it became to the point where I could enter it. In seconds after I got to that point I started to let it leave the cave but I wouldn't be directing it was more a presence in the back of its mind watching through its eyes. one thing that caught me off guard was that we were in a cave on the wall of the cliff with a very narrow trail from the ground to the cave. from the west was a massive mountain range that had to be the frost fangs to the north if I am not mistaken was the milkwater and to the east was the haunted forest which was just a wall of tree in the distance with all of that I believe we are near skirling pass witch I west of the fist of the first men. which is a relief because the hornfoots were known to live in the frost fangs so I was nervous thinking I would have to travel through 100's of miles of mountains just to get there as I thought about that and then thought about getting to the other side of the wall I remembered something the nightfort and the giant weirwood tree path there sadly I didn't no if you needed a men of the night's watch to get through making it relatively unimportant at the moment.
As time past I started to experiment with worging. because in the books I remember varamyr sixskins being able to split his consciousness so that he could be in multiple animals and himself at the same time which most likely be what blood raven did to be in so many ravens at once so I have tried to enter my fox and stay in my body at the same time and after a day and a half of trying it worked It was weird I could see in more than one point of view. it was a lot to take in but I as already adapting to having multiple sets of senses it seemed to be part of being a skinchanger that helps you to adapt to it because if it didn't someone would have a stroke from sensory overload. my main consciousness seemed to stay with my body while what seemed to be a sliver of it goes to the fox.. as time passed I was able to keep a sliver of consciousness in the fox at all times which let me improve my skill at moving and acting in its body because while you did get the instincts of how to move and act from the fox I had to practice to do it smoothly. let me give you an example if to wolf were to fight to the death and one of them was a worg then the worg would more than likely loose because there moment would be stilted while the wolf's would be smooth and natural. but each animal was different if I had a bond with an animal like the starks did it would be different the starks shared control while I overtook it consciousness making it to where I had to control it at all times instead of directing like the starks. so with me worging at all times it helped me get a lot of practice.
At the same time as I was practicing skinchanging I was learning the old tongue from the crone and she deemed me fluent enough to learn runes. runes were different from English. If I had to compare it to a language it was more like Chinese were each rune could mean a different thing depending on how it was written or which rune it was matched up with.
Another thing I will have to do is learn how to read and write the common tongue but there are only two people i no of on this side of the wall who know the common tongue and aren't men of the night's watch and they are Manse Raider and blood raven both I doubt would teach me common. and I don't ever want blood raven to know of me. He knew too much and didn't do a thing to help all he did was make Bran the three eyed raven. While I would really like to meet and learn from the children of the forest I don't trust them either. For one they created the other and two they all seemed to be with blood raven and the only reason I would go to his cave would be to kill him. sadly for all I know its the three eyed raven that I should be weary of. the biggest thing that I need to remember is that this is not the books it the world of a song of ice and fire but that doesn't mean it the same as the books or the show for all i know Jaime never killed the mad king or Arthur Dane killed Eddard Stark a the tower of joy so while I should prepare for all of the major events I have to be ready for new problems to appear for certain things not coming to pass.
A few days past with me practicing everything i know i decided that i was almost old enough to leave the cave so I needed a more concrete plan I had to grow strong enough to survive Canon and to do that I had to stay of this side of the wall and grow that way or I could go to essos. but I didn't no any ways to grow stronger in essos I just knew there are way to do so the like the warlocks of Qarth or the Shadowbinders of Asshai but I don't no much about those groups and what I do no make me never want to meet one of them so the only place I can learn magic and make allies is north of the wall. if I go south of the wall I would have to disguise myself as a northern then to gain any notoriety I would have to go south and participate in Tierneys win some and all that just to join the household of a lord as a sworn sword that'd the best one of the common folk can do south of the wall if it's not during a war like ser Davos seaworth became a nightly house and that was after saving a major seat like Storms end. so gathering power south of the wall would take too much time for little gain. The three major groups I would like to Allie with would be the men of the frozen shore. the thenns and giants. Men of the frozen shore have sled dogs the size of small horses, the thenns are the most organized of all the free folk and giants for their strength and longevity.
But to do any of that I need strength there is one thing that the free folk and giants both respect and that's strength because north of the wall no matter how strong you are if you aren't strong enough to survive winter then there is no point in being good at leading, collecting food or logistics if you can't survive the cold.
Days pass and as I am trying to remember anything important that could help me I remembered Skagos and Skane. Skagos because it has a fighting force of over 5 thousand as an estimate because they once had the strength to rebel from house Stark when they were Kingsland Skane because of its mystery there are more than likely that there are thing to learn there it is about the third the size of bear island and nothing is said about it besides the fact the Skagos killed every one there and that every one that goes there does not come back which is no surprise because know one south of Skagos cares about Skane the Skagosy don't go there and free folk can't make good boats. That being said it was once inhabited by first men before the andals invaded Westeros which means no measter or religion of the faith of the seven has touched its shores.
But all this is thiery and doesn't have any effect on me at this point in time my main goal should be learning to skinchange into more than one animal at a time and learning to hunt with knives and a bow and arrow.
This story will not be strictly Canon. There will be a lot of Canon elements but it will veer away from Canon after a while into the story probably after Eddard Stark's death.
Constructive criticism is appreciated
