Present Day in Konohagakure…
Naru or Naruto by her nickname for being confused about being a boy because of her orange clothing was fleeing once more from the ninja after her latest prank.
Her laughter filled the area as the ninja were hurling insults at the young academy student as her latest prank was visible to see. Itachi, fiancé to the prankster was simply watching his love causing mischief on a nice sunny day. One of the Shinobi noticed the once Anbu Captain sipping tea and decided to visit him by the window. He may no longer be an Anbu, but he was still a powerful Shinobi.
"Hey, aren't you going to help?" He questioned the former Anbu turned Jonin, "I mean, you can take that brat with one hand."
"I only have one hand." Itachi reminded as pulled up his armless sleeve.
"Right, sorry." The Ninja apologized as it was a touchy subject of his arm and the story behind it.
"Besides, if you are truly the Leaf's finest, then you should have no trouble capturing an academy student." Itachi calmly mocked with the small grin irritating the ninja.
The ninja left without saying another word as his pride was bruised by Itachi's observation. But the older Uchiha knew his fiancé was not a normal student. She was the most unpredictable ninja in the entire village, which was one of the things he loved about her. Naru was gifted in surprising even the smartest and most intelligent people.
Itachi knew she was going to be the Hokage one day. He'll be right there as one of her loyal husbands when that day comes. Hopefully, she and his brother will get along by that time, though it does seem quite unlikely. The two were exact opposites and often got into fights for his attention, especially since Sasuke was the jealous type that didn't like sharing his only family. It seemed unlikely that they would ever become friends like his mother dreamed.
But a brother was allowed to dream such things too.
Later that day at the Home of the Uchiha Brothers…
After a long day of missions, Itachi got to work on cleaning the house for when his brother got back from his studies.
It was good training for him when he becomes a house husband as it gave him an idea of what needed to be cleaned and in what way. The house looked spotless as it glimmered and shinned by the hard work which the prodigy shinobi dedicated himself to make it spotless. As an Uchiha, he lived to do everything the best that he can do and do even better. He does not do too bad for a man with only one arm.
He then heard the door open as his younger brother, Sasuke Uchiha entered the room, brooding and irritated.
"Good evening, Sasuke. How was the academy today?" The older brother wondered as he began to cook for the two of them, a duty as Sasuke's guardian.
"Hmm… Typical." Sasuke answered as he took a seat in his chair and began to read his scroll.
"Sasuke, you know the rules. No studying during Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. It is not good to overwork yourself. You can get sick." Itachi reminded his brother.
"Hmm."
But Sasuke did what his brother asked.
Itachi knew the real reason why his brother was so grumpy today.
"So, how was Naru?" Itachi asked with a smile as he knew his brother couldn't resist complaining about her.
"I don't want to talk about that Dobe."
But he will. Itachi knew his brother too well.
"She decides to paint on the faces of the Hokage Rock, lead Shinobi on a foolish chase until Iruka Sensei himself had to stop class to go and get her, caused the rest of the class to practice our transformation Jutsu, then used her foolish 'Sexy Justu' on our teacher." The student of the year complained as he felt all sorts of irritation.
"Did any of the boys try to touch her?" Itachi coldly asked his brother.
"No, they still think she's a man thanks to that ugly orange jacket and baggy pants she wears." His younger brother answered.
Sasuke knows that Itachi will defend Naru's honor to his last breath. If anyone inappropriately touches her, he has the right to kill such a person and Itachi is famous for being able to kill a man by simply looking at them.
"Good. As long as they keep their hands to themselves, I will not interfere." Itachi sighed as he rather not murders people because of their perverted thoughts of his beloved.
He was a pacifist through and through, understanding that the world needed peace. But he also had an obligation as a future husband. If any tried to harm or soil his beloved, it was his duty to seek retribution.
Itachi completed cooking and placed both plates on the table.
"I still don't understand why you are so infatuated with her. She's a complete Dobe." Sasuke sighed then took the first bite.
"Sasuke, once you understand her, you'll see why I am in love with her. But until that day, can you please try to get along with her?" Itachi requested, "She will become a part of this family and it would be best if you two became kinder to each other."
"How can I with her?"
"Please, Sasuke."
The younger sighed but nodded his head as they completed his meal.
Then the door knocked as Itachi and Sasuke were cleaning dushes.
"I'll get that." Itachi offered as he went to the door to reveal it was the teacher, Iruka.
"Iruka, what brings you here?" He wondered as he hoped his brother did not get into trouble.
"Itachi, I was hoping for some advice for Naru."
In the living room…
Itachi poured some tea for the shinobi as he told him his story.
"Naruto cleaned the mess she made on the faces, then we went to ramen. What she said really got to me, how she had no one to back home to." Iruka explained.
"I wish I can ease her pain, but the council ordered that we cannot share the same house until we are wed. It is seen as indecent." Itachi agreed, "I try my best to help her, but it is not an easy task when the entire village is against her."
"I know and… I sometimes think that-."
"You are not really giving her the attention she needs? That you are not helping her become a ninja? That you, yourself are sabotaging her because of a deeply hidden prejudice towards her?" He answered for him as Iruka was surprised then filled with guilt.
Itachi can see it too?
"That is not true, my friend. I can see you want to help her. The problem lies not in her skills, but the chakra within her." Itachi responded, "She can't be able to perform Jutsus because she overloads them, she can't control it."
Iruka then understood what he meant.
"I tried to help her learn to control, but I have never seen such an overflow of Chakra before." Itachi explained, "I know Naru can make it, but she needs people to believe in her. If you really want her to succeed, you have your entire heart in, she needs your full support."
"I can't show favoritism."
"I never said that. Supporting her is not the same as favoritism. If that is the only reason you feel you cannot fully train her or you have doubts because you fear you have prejudice, then maybe it should be best for me to personally train her." Itachi sighed, "Whatever you chose, just promise me you don't break her heart. That I can never forgive."
"Thank you for the talk and for the tea." Iruka thanked the man then left the house.
Itachi hopes that Iruka can see that he does truly care for her. The Uchiha can tell but Iruka is blinded by fear of failing her, a fear he understands.
At the academy after school…
Naru was sitting on the swing in shame as she failed her test again.
All alone while the parents of her classmates congratulated them while giving her ugly looks from afar like before.
"Naru?" A familiar voice spoke up as she saw Itachi standing beside her.
"Itachi, I failed. I failed again." Naru breathed as Itachi kneeled down to her to wipe the tears away from her face.
"No, you did not fail. You have tried harder than anyone else in the academy and you push yourself beyond your limits to make your dream come true. You only truly fail if you give up." Itachi pointed out, "But that's not you. You're not that type of person. You are someone who keeps fighting, even when it's hard."
"What a failure."
"That brat will never be a ninja."
"Glad that little mon-." A man tried to say but stopped when he saw Itachi looking at them.
"Care to continue that?" He coldly asked as he walked away from his love.
"L-Lord Uchiha…"
"No, I want to hear what you have to say."
They began to feel his killing intent and suddenly, compared to Naru, she is not nearly as terrifying.
Naru smiled gently at the man who loved her so greatly. Even if the entire world was against her, she at least had Itachi to stand by her side.
"You know, Iruka didn't fail you to make you miserable." Another Ninja appeared, Mizuki answered with a kind demeanor.
"Yeah, so why is he so hard on me?" Naruto questioned.
"Because he wants to tough you up, make you ready for the world." Mizuki explained, "You see, he lost his parents, he doesn't have a family, just like you. That's why he always had a soft spot for you."
Naruto sniffed away.
"Thank you."
Mizuki looked around to make sure no one was listening.
"You know, there is a way for you to graduate. But… it's a secret."
Near the parents at the Academy…
"We can explain-."
"Oh, I would love to hear all about it." Itachi coldly answered as everyone was afraid that today they would be killed.
Luckily, Iruka managed to step in as he and Iruka were needed in the Third's office.
It seemed that the Third has heard about Iruka's doubts and wants to offer him to transfer Naru to his fiancé, Itachi. Iruka took a moment to think about it, conflicted with making sure she got the education she needed and being a failure to her as a teacher.
"You can speak with me whenever you wish but keep this in mind. You are the very few friends that she has, for she does not have a family or even know about her parents." The third offered as Iruka went quiet.
He really needed to think about it.
Late at night…
Itachi made sure his brother was asleep, his heart filled with pride.
He knew Sasuke will do well, it was only natural for him and he is rookie of the year, just like he was long ago. Itachi was hoping Naru could have graduated with them. He knew Naru would do so well on a team, but it seemed not this year.
Itachi chuckled a bit until he saw a ninja lingering outside his window.
"Itachi, your bride really did it this time." The Shinobi coldly spoke.
"What do you mean? Naru only has done harmless pranks." Itachi questioned with his arms crossed.
"Not this time. She stole the Forbidden Scroll."
In the forest…
Itachi wasted no time in searching with the others as he feared for Naru's life.
How on earth did she learn of the scroll and why would she ever steal it?
Unless…
Itachi hopes it's not too late.
He witnessed Iruka, Naru, and Mizuki, all together and in a nasty battle! Itachi was right, someone set up Naru and planned to kill her for the scroll. That, someone, was Mizuki.
"You are the Nine-tailed fox! You're the monster that killed Iruka's parents!" He told his fiancé as Itachi felt the pain in her heart and the shock of it all.
When this was over, Mizuki will feel his wrath.
Then he saw Iruka protect Naru from Mizuki's deadly attack and decided to wait. This might be what Naru and Iruka needed. If things go too far, then Itachi will step in.
He watched as Iruka revealed his true feelings, seeing Naru as his daughter, heard that Mizuki was planning on taking her and then killing her after killing Iruka, which will give Itachi enough rage and desire to kill the man, then with pride, saw his future wife perfected the impossible multiple shadow clone Jutsu and pummeled him into the ground.
Naru and Iruka should have their moment.
Meanwhile, he should deal with Mizuki.
The traitor came too as he felt the killer intent of Itachi.
"Hello, Mizuki." Itachi terrifyingly greeting in a calm manner with a smile that means he will suffer.
"Itachi!" He gasped as the man as he was backed to a tree, "Pl-please!"
"The third would rather have you back alive, even though I have the right to kill you. So, you will live for now." Itachi explained, "But that doesn't mean I can't punish you in means that don't mean lethal force."
Mizuki begged for mercy as Itachi activated his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan!
His screams were heard throughout the night!
