Chip is only in his bomber jacket without his fedora for now.
In the meantime, Monterrey Jack is in the kitchen cooking the Rangers' breakfast for the day while Dale is over in the living room watching an episode of Flash the Wonder Dog.
Chip and Gadget begin telling each other about their stories on how their lives were before they met as Rescue Rangers.
"Me and Dale, the best of pals growing up." Says Chip to Gadget, "Can you believe it? Back in our childhood days, we had our huge obsession over acorn nuts. Of course what would you expect us being the chipmunks that we are."
Gadget says, "Well, no surprise, but very charming I shall say."
"Yeah, but I've gotten all over my addiction to this day. We lived in quite several places before now." Says Chip.
Gadget then says, "A lot more than where I've lived I would imagine."
"Yeah," Says Chip, "Most of them were inside many old bark trees. But yeah, we had our fun pestering this sailor duck, a bloodhound dog, and some big fat cat."
"Big fat cat?" Questions Gadget in such sudden wonder, "Hmmm. Are you sure we're not talking about Fat Cat himself here?"
Chip answers, "Oh most certainly not, Gadget, [this was more a big fat black cat that we faced one time. He was dressed up as a cowboy that robbed some western bank that me and Dale accused and captured. He also robbed away our beloved set of acorns inside our tree.]"
"Oh golly" Gadget says, "Sounds like you two had the audacity to stop the phases of crime even before becoming Rescue Rangers."
Chip then says, "Hehe, I'll say. You might even say we had it all in us even back then. But yeah, then one time ]me and Dale lived in this toolshed. It was then later that this sailor duck that we often pestered, brought over these three little ducks over to take down the place. They tore it down wood from wood by pulling all the nails off of the shed.["
"Oh my! That's terrible!" Says Gadget.
"You bet it was." Chip says, "]Dale and I were really frightened by all the noise that they were making. It was then that very evening, that we discovered that they turned that shed into a wooden boat.["
Gadget feeling a bit stunned on that remark says, "Wow golly, Chip. Sounds like the exact kind of thing that I would do. You know, remodel, reinvent stuff out of the ordinary. But I wouldn't do it to tear down one's own property of course."
Chip then says, "Hehe, knowing you, Gadget, I definitely couldn't see that. But yeah, ]once me and Dale discovered the boat, we figured that we could move in and make it our new home. So we moved our stuff in and stayed in for that night. But unfortunately, that next morning, we woke up only to realize that the boat began to move. So we ran up the deck and saw that we were out on the lake.["
Gadget dreadly in response says, "Gee, that must have been some scary experience."
Chip then says, "Yeah, something we really didn't quite see coming. ]We discovered that it was that sailor duck and his three other little ones sailing the boat away from shore, and that sailor duck's apparent girlfriend was steering it. Then moments later, a terrible storm came by. It caused big waves that sent the boat to shore.[ So after that eventful journey, all those ducks were sent home and thus we all ended up here in New York City. Meanwhile, ]Dale and I started tearing that boat apart. We kicked the nails off and took apart the wood on it. We then took some of that wood and we made a new house among it[ and that is where we ended up living around here in New York City for a long while before here."
"{Golly again, Chip.}" Says Gadget all delighted in hearing about Chip and Dale's lives before becoming Rescue Rangers, "That had to have been quite the adventure for you two."
"Hehehehehehehe, agreed there!" Says Chip, "And considering where we are now after that journey, I'd say it was pretty convenient. It was close to the time of us hitting our mature ages."
Gadget puts both palms of her hands on both her cheeks while leaning her elbows on the table while listening to Chip continue.
Chip continues on by saying, "And about several days later, we met Plato. You remember, Plato, right?"
Gadget answers, "Oh of course I do, Chip. How could I forget }the one that gave us the badge on the day that we became Rescue Rangers after we busted that old human pet of Fat Cat's, Aldrin Klordane, from that stolen ruby{?"
Chip then says, "Hehehehehehehehe, yep. But yeah, we met Plato whom of course started our inspiration on our wish of becoming the detectives that we are to this day. We also observed his human fellow pet, Detective Donald Drake, at that time too. But if you must also know, Gadget, that Detective Drake also had a son."
"Oh wow, really?" Asks Gadget.
"Yep." Says Chip, "But we never really got to know him that well, considering that we never got to see him too much. In fact, we haven't really seen him too much this past year since we've become Rescue Rangers."
Gadget then says in curiosity, "Hmmm, kind of makes me wonder what happened with him."
"Who knows really." Chip says, "Well, except of course Plato and that old Detective Drake."
Chip continues on by saying, "But yeah, of course we all know }Detective Drake is retired as of now{. So yeah, it was that time before Drake retired that our regard to becoming the heroes that we are now had grown. It was then that one day suddenly when }me and Dale discovered about that stolen clutchcoin ruby. While Plato and Drake were falsely accused for stealing it; thanks to Fat Cat and Klordane giving them the blame for it, Dale and I snuck into their cell and convinced Plato that we could do the police work well in good hands and help clear the two up. So as the chase went on, we eventually met Monterrey Jack and Zipper over at that dock and they agreed to join us on the quest, and then of course we came across you at that ratchet plane{."
Gadget all impressed on that backstory responds, "Oh wow! What a walk down the Rescue Ranger road, hehehehe."
"Rescue Ranger, Police, or Detective road. You name it." Says Chip, "But yeah, and of course you know the rest of the story as we were then all together throughout the rest of the way. We then became the Rescue Rangers that we are today!"
All charmed and captivated to hear all about Chip and Dale's lives growing up, Gadget says to him, "Wow! I just love that story, Chip! Golly, its so great to get to know how you and Dale grew up."
Gadget then feels that it is her turn to begin her story about how her life was before she met the two chipmunks.
She begins by saying, "As for me, well before I met you two, all I was just doing around in that old abandoned ratchet plane within that whole year was just spinning my wheels upon inventing all those cool and interesting mechanics inside it; which you four probably observed on when }you all were on your path to finding my Dad{. You remember, right, Chip? Geegaw Hackwrench?"
"Oh yeah, of course I do." Chip says.
At this point in time, Gadget has more confidence in herself to mention her Dad's name upon her knowledge of how close she has become to her friends as she continues on with her story.
She says, "During that time however, ~I had come across some certain individuals who would come by that plane every now and then which was well, okay and all. But every so often they would turn out to be salesmen, which I really couldn't stand. Just like Geegaw had dealt with during HIS lifetime when it came to our experience with mechanical inventions~."
Chip asks, "Oh, and why is that, Gadget?"
"Well Chip," Says Gadget, "~The thing was is that while Geegaw and I didn't have so much a problem with the stuff that the salesmen were selling, the problem was that the salesmen did zero to help in our ways because they were never successful in doing their part. They had zero empathy. Worst of all, they neglected to listen to what we said. They always failed to address the key issues that we thought were important to us within our mechanical inventions.~"
All impressed on that bit of story, Chip says, "Well gee, Gadget, I'd say that is a good way to show them who they are messing with for sure."
"Golly, I'll say indeed, Chip." Says Gadget.
Chip then says, "Yeah. Well, with me and Dale, we defintely had some great times growing up."
Just then, Monterrey Jack shows up from the kitchen wearing a white chef's hat and apron with the breakfast all cooked and ready to eat. Monty came prepared with walnut wallaroo cookies, ++pancake cheese flaps++, and bagels.
He says to the two, "Morning, ye mates. Breakfast is served. And ye know I couldn't help but to overhear those stories that you two were telling about your past lives. Which brings me to a story of my own."
Monterrey removes his cookwear as Gadget assumes that Monty will be telling them another one of his long tales about his world travelling days. A bit unwilling to take it, she says, "Ugh! It better not be another one of your past adventures of world travelling."
Monterrey Jack clears out to Gadget saying, "Weeeeeeellllll, sort of, Gadget luv. But this one ain't long at all, I assure ye. This one is actually the last one I ever had before }I reunited with you at that ol' ratchet plane, and met Chip and Dale beforewards{. This one is about how I met my ol' pal, Zipper."
Chip suddenly eager to hear about this one, says to Monty in that regard, "Oh, I'd be delighted to hear this one, Monterrey. Do tell."
Monterrey Jack chuckles at Chip's bit of anxiousness and then says, "I'd be happy to, Chipper. Well, it was during that time after my world travelling days with my other ol' pal, Geegaw Hackwrench, ye know, Gadget's Dad; that I had my last adventure around here in New York City. }I had then found this treasure bunk over at the harbor docks in Manhattan, and made that place my house for a little while{. Then one day, I had one of my cheese gravings."
Chip and Gadget look at each other both with befuddled looks on their faces within their knowledge of how much trouble Monterrey has put the Rangers through on his cheese obsession. They they look back at Monterrey Jack as he continues on with his story.
He tells the two, "Only to realize that I was being lured inside a cage. I was then locked up inside it on this urge of being used as an enchanted rodent via subject by this evil mad scientist, whom you mates can probably guess who that was; which whom I realize by now is too."
"Oh golly." Gadget says in awe.
Chip then says, "Oh brother. It was Professor Nimnul, wasn't it?"
Monty answers, "Eeeeeeyup."
Gadget gets utterly bewildered on hearing that part of the story and says, "Wow, how awful! So how did you manage to escape out of that miserable menace?"
Monterrey Jack answers, "Glad you asked, Gadget. Because that was how I came across good ol' Zipper. As impressed as I was for his set of strength for an insect his size, he saved me like I never would have imagined. He picked at the lock from that ol' cage and too rah loo! I was saved out from that miserable predicament. /I never was saved like that since the day the Zamboni boys attacked Iceland. I gotta tell ye, that one was a close save.\ But Zipper on the other hand, took the cake. We then became the best of pals, and }I allowed him to live with me over at that ol' treasure bunk{."
"-GooooOOOOOOooooOOOOOly-." Says Gadget after hearing that wonderful story, "What an amazing story!"
"You said it, Gadget." Says Chip, "I'll say that is such a thriller."
Monterrey Jack then says, "You said it there, Chipper. And that's when Zipper earned that black belt around that gi that I gave him. But I made him promise not to use it among his set of abilities unless there are emergencies."
Gadget then asks in much wonder, "\You know I wonder, where IS Zipper, anyway/?"
It then occurs to Monterrey to start wondering the same thing as he says, "I've been wondering the same thing. Haven't seen him all morning this morning."
Conveniently enough in the nick of time, Zipper suddenly shows up and flies through the window back inside the Rescue Ranger Headquarters to meet up with the three inside the dining room. He prepares to tell them about what happened earlier over at the City Bank.
"Zipper!" Chip cries.
"Zipper ol' pal, there you are!" Says Monterrey Jack glad to see him, and knowing that +he hadn't potentially flown out on the Rangers again+.
Gadget then asks Zipper, "\Where have you been all morning/?"
Zipper answers in his buzzing tone, "At the City Bank."
"What? The City Bank?" Asks Chip as it had to have been some crime that happened over there.
"What's going on, ye pally?" Monterrey asks Zipper.
"Plato! Plato! He's back!" Zipper answers.
"Plato?" Chip asks in such questioning manner to Zipper as the name of the Rangers' old canine friend of theirs came to his attention, "He is back on the job?"
The fly nods and continues talking in his cute chirpy buzzing noises by way of telling them the news about what happened at the bank.
"He was with some new...um...teenage...cop?" Gadget asks and then scratches her head as she begins to feel a little puzzled about that last part.
Zipper then nods as he begins to play charade's on the part where Adam busted Professor Nimnul at the bank.
"He busted Professor Nimnul from some crime at the City Bank? Crikey!" Monterrey Jack thrillingly says.
While it did sound like a bit of music to those three Rangers' ears to hear such news, Chip asks him, "Wait wait wait wait, are you serious, Zipper?"
"Yes! He's busted!" Zipper proudly answers to Chip.
Monterrey Jack along with Chip begin to feel skeptical about this as Monty says, "Eh, no offense ol' buddy, but ye say he is a teenager? I find that hard to believe. Sounds like that person's too young to be on such a job, wouldn't ye say?"
Zipper then tries to tell Monterrey Jack, "But Mon-"
"Well, maybe so, Monterrey." Says Chip cutting Zipper off, "If you ask me, I think we should just keep our minds open and see if we happen to come across any further updates on this whole cirsumstance. After all, we are the Rescue Rangers. We are willing to dig up clues on any mystery or case that we stumble across."
Gadget then points out to Chip upon regards to that story Chip told her earlier about Plato and Detective Drake, "But then again, Chip, didn't you say that Detective Dra-"
She then gets cut off by Monterrey Jack as he reminds everyone that breakfast is ready, "Ah now, -lets not give this another thought- at the moment, mates. Right now, it is time to eat breakfast."
"Right, Monterrey." Gadget says, "By that matter, we should go tell Dale too."
Chip then points out a bit flustered while they all start making their way to the living room where Dale is watching TV, "Which he's probably suckered in on that TV, like usual."
Dale is of course in the Ranger's living room watching an episode of Flash the Wonder Dog. On the television screen, the logo of the Flash the Wonder Dog show zooms in; indicating a picture of Flash.
As that happens, Dale shouts out, "Alright, my dog!"
A preview of the episode shows as the TV announcer says, "Coming up on Flash the Wonder Dog, some poor lad by the name of Timmy, is being kidnapped from his family by some madman pilot en route to fly away on his very own plane."
Next clip on TV shows Timmy tied up on top of the plane as it prepares for take off.
While Dale is watching that bit, he puts both hands around his mouth. He is practically biting his fingernails in fear as Timmy is in peril. Timmy, in the perilous event, shouts out to Flash while the plane takes off, "Help, Flash the Wonder Dog! Save me!"
"Come on, Flash, you can do it! Get em' get em' get em' Yah! Yah! Show em' whos boss!" Dale prepares to cheer him on as he had this mindset of what is going to happen on this Flash episode.
Meanwhile, while the other Rangers make their way to signal Dale on the breakfast service from the back doorway of the dining room, they stand around said doorway only to observe another one of Dale's goofy excitement vibes that he is building up within this Flash episode.
Chip then points out to the three in regards to the story he told Gadget earlier, "And yet within all this time growing up with Dale, I've grown more mature. Dale on the other hand, well... *sigh* he is still his old zany and goofy self; and suckered into all that TV watching and comic book reading."
Stay tuned next chapter as Dale along with Fat Cat watch as Flash the Wonder Dog; along with his sidekicks, Conrad Cockatoo and a new Animal Rescue Pilot, Vivian Gizmo, go on the rescue to save Timmy in this new Flash the Wonder Dog episode on TV.
