In Kohona days later…
Naru was hidden with the others as they waited for the target.
The target was fast, deadly, and resistant but the job needed to be done for the good of the village.
"Target is in our sights and is ready to be captured," Sakura whispered as she was somewhere else, ready to pounce.
"Good, now remember. This is one of the most elusive creatures we have ever faced, and many ninjas have failed to capture it. Very few have ever got the target back and it is known for being quick to attack. Be careful of its claws." Kakashi warned as his eyes never left the creature.
"Got it." All three of them agreed as they got ready for battle with the creature.
It was a fearsome battle as Kakashi, Sakura, and Sasuke were introduce to a whirlwind of scratches, bites, and bruises from the animal! It howled like a lion as the beast was agile and unforgiving towards the ninja with the fierceness of a tiger! It knew no mercy and expected none from the enemies! It was painful and dangerous as it seemed impossible to capture the creature who slashes through the skin like paper.
"Come here, Kitty, Kitty!" Naru squeaked as she held out her hands for the animal with warmth and delight.
The beast, so vicious and frightening, then transforms into a cute and darling kitty cat, releasing the face of Sakura, who was pretty clawed up by the cat and hopped to the blond-haired ninja. The cat became putty in her hands as she was purring and cuddling up to Naru as the Blond Girl petting the sweet kitty. They were all shocked that such a deadly devil could turn into an angel by the most hyper-activate ninja in the entire village.
Sasuke shook his head in annoyance at the girl as he remembered that animals were naturally compatible with Naru. Even as a little girl, Naru would bring back more animals than he could count from the streets to even the forest. Some of them were far too deadly to live in the village and it took half of the entire Ninja force to gather up all the animals up and take them back to where they belonged. Eventually, the Hokage had to ban her from bringing animals back with her, not really doing anything since the creatures naturally follow her.
"How did you do that?" Sakura gasped as she could not believe what the girl was seeing.
"Do what?" Naru wondered as she tilted her head to one side while the kitten was licking her chin.
"How did you get the cat to like you?" She wondered as Naru looked down at the kitty.
"I don't know. I just wanted to pet the kitty."
Kakashi then walked up to her as the cat hissed at the one-eyed mask-wearing man, who held up a picture to see if the bowtie was there. The cat matched up perfectly with the picture.
"Yep, this is the cat. Let's head back to the Hokage's office." Kakashi confirmed as they all decided that Naru would carry her.
At the Hokage's office…
The Fire Daimyō's wife was smothering the cat as it pleads for Naru to take it back but was taken away with the woman.
Naru waved goodbye to the cat as the Hokage and Iruka was pleased that the mission was a complete success. Though, they were not surprised. Naru has always had a way with animals and this mission was perfect for her and seemingly only for her.
"Nicely done, Team 7. Your next mission is to help with the gardening of some of the citizens, next taking care of some of the children, and then-."
"Hold up, why are we getting lame missions?" Naru complained, "Why don't we beat up bad guys, rescue royalty, save the world and stuff?"
"Naruto, that's not how Shinobi stats work. You need to start D missions like anything else before handling the more dangerous missions. D and C missions are Gennin, C and B are for Chunin, then it goes up the more you rank." Iruka informed the young girl and her team, "You still need to do a couple more D rank missions before doing a C ranked mission."
"What? That's dumb! They are much stronger than our rank and we can do much more than doing grunt work!" Naruto demanded in a huff.
"She does have a point for once." Sasuke agreed, shocking everyone, including his future sister-in-law as her jaw dropped, "This is a waste of our skills and we can do more than these idiot missions."
"Sasuke…" Sakura muttered as the Hokage sighed.
"If you insist… Alright, I'll let you three have a C Mission, just this once and don't say I never do anything for you, Naru." Hokage conceded as he had a mission in mind for the Team, "Send him in."
Naru looked excited as an old man entered the room with wood on his back.
"This is Tazuna, the bridge builder of the Waterfall Village. Your mission is to bring him back to the village unharmed. That's all."
"Cool, this is awesome!" Naru cheered as the old man gave him a strange look.
"You're having a couple of brats protect me?"
…
"I'LL KILL YOU!" Naru snarled as she was grabbed by Iruka.
"Naruto, you can't kill the client!"
At the Gate…
Before they left the village, a friendly face came to see Naru and Sasuke off.
It was Naru's fiancé Itachi, with three Bentos and a smile on his face. He wanted to make sure that the student ninja had energy and nutrition on their first big mission.
"Thanks, Itachi!" Naru glimmered as her fiancé blushed.
"Hmm…" Sasuke grunted as Itachi knew it was Sasuke's way of saying thanks in public, even though Itachi tried to teach him that there was no shame in expressing joy.
"Thank you, Itachi-san." Sakura bowed to the older Uchiha.
"Please, don't be so formal. Just call me Itachi."
"Hey, how come I don't get one?" Kakashi asked as the other ninja rolled his eyes.
"You're a Shinobi of self-reliance. You can buy what you need."
With that, they said their goodbye and left the village with the bridge builder, not seeing the crow following them.
