Jason Grace woke up from his strange dream. Despite knowing its strangeness, Jason couldn't remember what the dream was about. He was staring at a ceiling he didn't recognize. He got up from his laying position to get a bearing on his surroundings.

The room was normal enough. A window to his left filled the stone based room with the setting sun. A cabinet was in the corner. Next to it was a wooden door. A table on his bedside was filled with used bandages and a vase full of flowers.

The last thing he noticed was Jean. He was sleeping on a wooden chair that was at the end of Jason's bed. What is he doing here?

"Jean." Jason called out to his new found friend.

His eyes stayed shut.

"Jean!" Jason raised his voice.

Still nothing.

Jason hit his foot against Jean's thigh. This jousted him awake. Rubbing his eyes, he looked towards what hit his leg. Jean's eyes widened.

"JASON! You're awake!" He rounded the corner of the bed with the chair and sat in front of Jason. "How are you feeling? Any pain?"

Jason took a moment to assess himself. The only lasting damage he felt was from the hook that entered his leg in the forest.

"My right thigh still hurts, but that's nothing new. Where's Levi? Did you guys catch Annie?"

Jean was taken aback. His thumb pointed to the door, "The Captain's outside… How did you know about Annie?"

"Uhhh… She was trampling the city along with Armin's friend."

Jean sighed in frustration. "I know that, but how did you know her name?"

"Oh." Jason thought about it for a second. Nothing came to him. How did I know the Female Titans name?

"I have no idea." Jean gave him a creeped out face. "What? I really don't know." Jason argued.

Jean began mumbling. "You're not from outside the walls, you're not from inside. You know Annie's name without even being told…" Jean put a hand to his head. "Maybe the Captain is right?"

"Right about what?"

Jean lamented on the idea, ignoring Jason's question. "But, you helped us outside the walls. And you rescued all those people in the Stohess district. You really saved our asses today." Jean chuckled. Jason was confused. It was like he was only hearing one side of a conversation. So he stayed silent.

After a beat, Jean looked him straight in the eye.

"I swear, if you turn out to be the enemy, I'll kill you myself."

Jason blinked.

"I highly doubt you could kill me, but ok."

"What kinda cocky ass response is that?" Jean's eyebrows narrowed.

"Jean, I mean no offense when I say this, but I probably outclass you when it comes to combat."

Jean grabbed his collar, Jason noticed that his camp half-blood t-shirt was replaced with a normal white collar. Before Jean could retaliate, the wooden door opened. A pair of narrow eyes met Jason's.

"Jean, let go of the prisoner." A gruff voice ordered.

Jean did as his captain commanded. He mumbled a curse under his breath.

"How long has he been awake?" Captain Levi asked.

Jean got up and saluted with his right fist over his chest and left fist on his back. "Only a few minutes sir."

Levi kept his gaze on Jason, "Go report to the Commander. I'll take it from here."

Jean hesitated. But followed orders. As Levi grabbed the chair to sit on, Jean mouthed something before closing the wooden door.

Don't piss him off.
