Following Levi into the building, they walked down an unrecognizable brick hallway. Jason didn't know if he should start a conversation or not. The last time he spoke to him he was sobbing. How embarrassing.

Even if they did have a conversation, what would they talk about? Not even Armin or Jean believed me when I told them the truth. Well, I can't really explain how or why I'm still alive, but the scars on my chest are unmistakable. He remembered Armins smile. It looks like Armin still wants to help me out. But if I wanna stay with them, I gotta get stronger. It looks like we're headed back to those monsters sooner than I thought.

Jason remembered the maneuvers that Levi and that other girl performed on the Female Titan. Now that I think about it, the girl with the red scarf is the same one who attacked the Female Titan with Levi. If I could move like her, then those monsters would be nothing.

Light escaped a two door room in the hallway in front of them. "Section Commander! What are you doing?" A man's voice exclaimed.

Levi stopped at the open door. The room they peered into looked like some kind of study or laboratory. Shelves at the edge of the room were filled with books, and the table in the center was covered in scientific equipment and more books. A man with light brown hair was standing behind someone who was looking through a microscope. Based on his winged patch, he was also a member of the scouts. "We're supposed to leave in five minutes! Please hurry up!" he exclaimed. He passed Jason and Levi at the door when exiting the room, running down the hallway that they just came down.

"There is something I need to confirm…" A woman's voice answered. She raised her head from the microscope and looked at something else on the table. I wonder what a section commander does. Jason thought to himself.

"Hey." She turned towards Levi's voice, "Get moving."

"Ah, sorry! What about that guy… YOU!"

The women stared at him intensely. She had a pair of goggles resting on her maroon colored hair. The woman seemed to be in her early thirties, and was donning the same outfit he was now wearing. Her winged patch indicated her military affiliation with the scouts.

She approached Jason and grabbed his face.

"Is this the self proclaimed amnesiac?" She widened his eyelids and pulled on his ears. Her hands touched every inch of his face. "What's your name? Where are you from?" She pinched his cheeks. "You seem human enough. Are you a titan shifter? That's the only way anyone without ODM gear or a horse could survive outside the walls."

Levi sighed. "To answer your earlier question, he's been ready for a while now."

"Who? Ohh, Pastor Nick." She released Jason's face and put her goggles on.

"The Commander accepted my request?"

"Yes, he also ordered this one to come with as well."

The Section Commander raised her hand. "So it's me, you, Eren, two of the 104th, Pastor Nick, Mobilt, and him?" She raised eight of her fingers. "Who's driving?"

Levi seemed more irritated than usual. "We'll deal with that later. Right now, we need to go."

The Section Commander went back to her workspace to grab some things. A shiny pastel rock was among the items. "I get why the commander wants Nick to come along, but why him? We know practically nothing about him. He could be dangerous."

"I asked the commander to let him join us." Levi said, "He accepted my request."

The woman got all her things and joined them at the door.

"You requested he join us? Why?"

Levi began walking down another hallway. The Section Commander joined him. Jason trailed behind.

"Hange, have you ever heard of someone surviving a spear to the heart?"

"Huh?" Her eyebrow rose, "Levi, what kinda question is that? Of course people don't survive getting stabbed in the heart."

The group turned a corner. The woman named Hange put her hand on her chin.

"Well, now that I think about it, maybe Eren could survive a blade to the heart. His titan shifting ability speeds up his healing factor ten fold. He grew back his tooth that one time, and if the report from Trost is to be trusted, he re-grew both his arm and his leg."

"How about someone that can generate lightning?"

The woman's eyebrows narrowed, "Levi, where are these questions coming from?"

The Captain looked back at his prisoner. Jason had a sinking feeling in his stomach. Did he listen in on our conversation? How close was he to the door?

"Is this about him? What, can he generate lightning?"

Levi returned his gaze forward. "Nevermind. Let's focus on the task at hand."

Hange kept her gaze on Jason. "Levi is never interested in anyone. The fact that he wants to know more about you." She started to slobber. "I can't wait to have you to myself."

"Hange. Focus."

She wiped the slobber off her chin. "Ahh sorry. I haven't introduced myself, have I. My name is Hange Zoë, Section Commander of the 4th squad of the scouts. My job is to research titans and find out where they come from. Well, mostly I just beg the Commander to let me research them. The last time we found someone outside the walls, they were a skeleton missing a head. You can imagine why I'd be excited that we found someone outside the walls who's still alive. So tell me, how did you survive? Where do you come from? Is humanity alive outside the walls? Can you generate lightning? Did you survive a spear to the heart? Why is Levi so interested in you?"

She was speaking so fast Jason couldn't keep up. He didn't know how to respond.

"Hange. Focus." Levi chastised her.

"Ahh sorry! Now's not the time, but soon." She gave Jason a creepy smile.

What have I gotten myself into? Jason thought to himself wryly.

They stopped at another door, this time one that was closed. Hange opened it and inside was a middle aged man. He wore a back robe and had a golden necklace with the faces of three women on it. They looked familiar, but Jason couldn't place them.

"Hey, Pastor Nick, are you ready to come with us? Apparently titans have been sited within your beloved Wall Rose. It will be a nice field trip for you." Hange said.

The Pastor gave a puzzled look at Jason.

"Oh how rude of me. Pastor Nick, meet my new friend… actually I never caught your name."

Jason gave a nervous chuckle. At least this was something he could answer.

"Jason Grace."
