A/N: Hello everyone! Without further ado, here is chapter three!

Helena gawked at him, wondering when the hell this had happened. She could see in Tall Oaks and China how much he had cared for Ada and wondered why this happened, but she was also happy about it as well. She could see right through Ada and could see that she just used him whenever she needed help.

"What happened?"

Leon sighed, "you can only wait for someone for so long. I waited for fifteen years, and I wanted more, and she didn't. I got sick of waiting for her to make up her mind."

Helena nodded, "well I'm sorry. I'm sure you'll find someone better who wants the same things."

Leon nodded and the two drove in silence to both of their apartments. The two only grabbed the necessities since Hunnigan told them the house they would stay in had all the things they'd need aside from clothes. The only clothes it would have would be for the child so the two agents wouldn't have to worry about bringing her shopping.

"Alright, let's go and get our daughter." She says half-jokingly as they drove back to HQ.

"So, I'm assuming we'll have to share a room."

"That's fine as long as you keep your hands to yourself, Kennedy."

Leon chuckled as they pulled up to the front where Hunnigan was waiting with Aliya, who was now wearing sunglasses to hide her burgundy eyes. Hunnigan escorted the kid to the car, helping her in before going to Leon's side.

"Okay, our lab is going to try and come up with something better to hide her eyes, but sunglasses is the best thing right now," Hunnigan starts, taking out a piece of paper and handing it to him, "this is a doctor's note the doctor drafted for her so no one at school tells her she can't wear them. Now, remember to make it believable."

"So, what do we do for work in case people ask?" Helena asks curiously, sitting up.

"Leon is a cop so he will still be coming in every day, and you used to be a cop but you're a stay-at-home mom now."

Helena groaned, "oh come on why do I have to be the stay-at-home parent?"

"Because. Gender roles." Leon says, chuckling when Helena slapped his arm.

Hunnigan rolled her eyes, "The BSAA will have you in their sights at all times, as will Agents Birkin and Muller."

Hunnigan bid them both a quick goodbye and stepped away from the car as they drove off.

"So, Aliya, how old are you?" Leon asks, trying to make small talk with the girl.

"Twelve but I'm turning thirteen on January 8th," She explains, looking out the window in curiosity, "I've never seen the outside world before."

Helena smiled sadly, "I like your hair. Who did it?"

Aliya looked at her in confusion, stroking the magenta parts of her hair, "oh uh it's always been like this."

"So, you've never been outside before?"

Aliya shook her head, "no. I think I was born at that lab. I lived there my whole life."

"Do you know what C.A.T Co stands for?" Leon mumbled, earning another slap from Helena.

"Do you know anything about your life? Like about your parents?" Helena asks, looking back at the girl.

Aliya shook her head again, "no. I'm not sure what happened to them honestly. I heard them talking outside my door about how it's cruel that they can't tell me who my mother is, but other than that."

Leon nodded, "well you're safe with us no matter what. We'll protect you while we get this figured out."

Aliya nodded as she brushed a strand of hair out of her face and sat back. She was happy to finally be outside the facility. She had hoped it would have been under different circumstances, but she was free now.

"Okay so we are your parents now. Our names are going to be Leon and Helena Johnson if anyone asks and you're Aliya Johnson. You're enrolled in the seventh grade at Pine Point School. Your first day is Monday."

Aliya nodded and looked out the window as they pulled up to a white, two-story house. Leon and Helena got out of the car and Leon opened the door for Aliya, who got out and stared at the house in awe while the two agents got their bags.

Aliya ran ahead of them and opened the door, running up the stairs to choose her room. Helena chuckled, remembering when she was easily excitable at that age.

Helena followed her up the stairs to the room. The room was decently sized with plain white walls and a twin bed. Aliya opened the curtains, letting in more sun and practically blinding Helena.

Aliya went to the dresser next, opening the drawers to see an abundance of clothes that kids her age wore nowadays.

"Awesome! My own clothes!" She says excitedly, taking out a graphic t-shirt.

Helena chuckled, "well, get changed and I'll see what I can find for dinner."

Aliya nodded as Helena left, walking down the hall to the master bedroom where Leon was unpacking his bag.

"She settling in?" He asks, briefly looking up at her.

"As settled in that she can get due to the circumstances."

"You know, I'll have to say, I didn't picture you to be the type to like kids."

Helena shrugged, "perhaps there's quite a bit about me that you don't know."

Helena started unpacking her own bag as Leon looked at her. Part of him was glad they were assigned this mission together and hoped that maybe it could become more. The only thing was that Helena was such a closed book that he didn't know how she felt about it.

Helena finished unpacking her bag and looked at him.

"Home sweet home."
