A/N: Hey guys, sorry for the long wait, I've had a lot of schoolwork but I'm back for my break for right now!

Helena read the note repeatedly before looking at the syringe of liquid, unsure of what it was.

"What is that?" Aliya asks, having finally come inside.

"I told you to stay in the car."

Aliya shrugged, "well I didn't want to."

"You need to_" She starts, only for the kid to cut her off.

"Listen. I know, but I know what that is! After the treatments first started, I would start to go downhill, and they came up with that to keep me stabilized. I needed it every couple of months."

"Well I'm going to have Leon take it to HQ before giving it to you."

"What? You don't believe me?" Aliya asks, crossing her arms as Helena put the syringe on the table.

"I'm not saying that I don't but the woman who dropped it off cannot be trusted at all." Helena says, taking a seat in one of the chairs.

"What's deal with her? Why don't you like her?"

Helena sighed. She could tell her what happened in Tall Oaks, especially the cathedral, and the kid would understand why Ada was bad news. Or she could completely end up taking the other woman's side all together.

"It's a long story. I'll tell you when you're older."

"Leon seems to trust her." Aliya says, dropping her backpack on the ground next to the table.

"That's because Leon had a thing for her for years. That's also why a relationship with Leon would never work. She's always going to show up and he's always going to go back to her." She explains, trying not to let her jealousy show.

"So if you had proof that he was actually done with her, you'd go for it?"

Helena sighed, "yeah, sure."

"Okay, I'm going to go do homework." Aliya says, grabbing her backpack again and running out of the room as Helena got up.

Helena just sighed and punched the wall in frustration, ignoring the pain in her hand immediately afterwards as her knuckles started bleeding. Helena went to the bathroom to look for the first aid kit, wrapping her hand up in gauze and continue to pace around the kitchen until it was time to start dinner, at which point Leon was walking through the door.

The first thing Leon saw was the bandage on Helena's hand and then the syringe on the table. Leon picked the syringe up and looked at Helena, who didn't even acknowledge his presence.

"What's this?"

"Oh, you need to bring that to HQ. Ada dropped it off."

Leon tensed as he heard Ada's name, now knowing why she seemed angry.

"How does she keep getting past Chris and Jill?"

Helena threw her arms up in exasperation, not knowing what to say as she cut up some vegetables. Leon was now annoyed, knowing he'd never be able to have a chance with Helena if Ada didn't stop showing up unannounced. He couldn't blame her, not really. If roles were reversed, he would be the same.

"So, what else happened today?" He asks, trying to change the subject.

"Aliya got into a fight at school and almost blew our cover."

"I-what?"

Helena nodded, "I had to talk her out of being suspended."

"What happened?"

"She just put a bully in his place."

"Well, I'm not happy our cover was almost blown, but good for her."

Helena chuckled, "I said the same thing."

Leon chuckled and placed the syringe in his jacket pocket and hung it up so that he wouldn't forget it the next day while leaving for HQ.

"So, since we're supposed to pretend to be a happy family, why don't we watch some movies tonight?"

Helena nodded, "that would be nice. We can give Aliya some normalcy of being a child."

And so they did. After dinner, the three sat on the couch watching as many Disney movies as possible that they could once they found out that Aliya had never even seen a Disney movie. Helena had fallen asleep at some point on one end of the couch and Aliya had fallen asleep curled up against Leon. Leon had been about to fall asleep himself when his phone rang and he quickly got up to answer it, heading out the back door and not realizing his movements had caused Aliya to wake up.

Aliya got up and followed Leon outside, taking a seat on the porch steps where he couldn't see her as he spoke to the person on the phone.

"Who do you think you are, Ada? We are on an assignment; you can't keep showing up here!" He says urgently, his voice barely above a whisper.

"What? I can't help an old friend?"

"You can, Ada, but we're on an assignment and Helena doesn't want you around."

"Oh? But you do?"

Leon sighed, "Ada, we have danced around each other for over fifteen years. I will always accept help, but I was serious when I said we were done a few months ago."

"Where did we go wrong?"

"I wanted more, and you didn't."

"Oh? And does Helena want the same things?"

Leon gritted his teeth, "she does, just not anytime soon. She was upfront with me, unlike you."

"Why are you so willing to wait then?"

"Because I love her!" He blurted out before he could stop himself.

Aliya gasped, covering her mouth with her hand, and hoping he didn't hear her.

"Goodbye, Ada." He says, hanging up his phone and sighing, "how much of that did you hear?" He asks, having heard the girls gasp at his confession.

"All of it, I'm sorry." She says as he approached her.

Leon sighed, "you shouldn't eavesdrop on private conversations."

Aliya got up and followed Leon as he walked passed her and into the house.

"Is it really eavesdropping if you're not exactly quiet?"

"It is if you continue listening."

"So? You love Helena! Just_" She starts, only for Leon to shush her.

Leon lifted a finger as if to tell her to wait and went to the couch where Helena was still sound asleep. Leon picked her up, careful not to wake her by jostling her too much and brought her to their room, tucking her under the covers.

Aliya had followed them upstairs and smirked from the doorway, "Leon and Helena sitting in a tree, K-I_" She starts, Leon covering her mouth before she could finish.

"That's enough."

"You know, you should tell her about your conversation with Ada. She said that she'd consider it if she had proof that you and Ada were done. And, well, I'm your proof."

Leon raised an eyebrow at her, closing the bedroom door behind them, "really?"

Aliya nodded, "yeah, she straight up told me."

"Well you shouldn't be meddling with our lives."

"Yeah, yeah whatever." She says with an eyeroll as she turned to go to bed for the night.

God, I hate kids sometimes.
