Helena groaned as she became fully aware that she was in the infirmary of their headquarters. The first thing that she was aware of was the pain in her left arm that was now in a sling and a cast close to her body and then she was aware of the stabbing pain in her back. The next thing she was aware of was the overwhelming nausea, feeling as if she had just been given a shit load of drugs. Her mind was fuzzy, unable to remember much of what happened at first until it started to all come back to her. She remembered Phil injecting her with something and Leon shooting him and then…

Leon! She had pulled a gun on him!

Helena sat up, becoming dizzy as she looked around the room in panic until Leon gently pushed her back down in the bed, not wanting her to overdo it.

"Hey it's okay. You're okay." He says softly, giving her a relieved smile as he saw that she was awake.

"I pulled a gun on you." She chokes out, breathing heavily as the nausea got more intense.

"Hey it's okay. That wasn't you."

Helena started coughing and Leon grabbed the nearby trash can, which she grabbed and emptied the contents of her stomach into as Madison came in upon hearing the commotion.

"Well, I'm glad to see that you're awake. That nausea you're feeling is the rest of the drugs leaving your system." She explains as Helena finished vomiting and Leon put the trash can down while Helena laid back in the bed. Madison took her flashlight and shined it in Helena's eyes, "you were given a hallucinogen so I'm going to take some blood and if everything turns out normal, you'll be able to leave as soon as the sun is up." She adds, putting the flashlight in her pocket and taking a needle, sticking it into her arm and making Helena wince.

"How long do I have to keep this cast on?"

"Roughly six to eight weeks so get lots of rest, don't try and lift anything too heavy or any strenuous activities."

"Oh damn there goes her daily weightlifting." Leon says jokingly, trying to make Helena laugh, and succeeding slightly as he saw her crack a weak smile.

Madison rolled her eyes, "Oh Leon ever the jokester. That part about you has clearly not changed."

"Did you two used to date or something?"

Madison snorted, "Oh lord no. We were friends as kids, next door neighbors but then after his parents died and he moved away, we lost touch until the D.S.O saw my skills as a medic in the army and then we got back in touch." She says, "I'll be right back."

Helena nodded as Madison left the room again.

"I'm sorry that I pulled a gun on you."

"Like I said, that wasn't you."

Helena moved over, patting the spot next to her for him to get on. Leon gently laid next to her, wrapping his arms around her and running a hand through her dark hair. The pair looked up as Jill entered the room holding some clothes.

"Hey, me and Chris stopped by the house to get you some clothes. We told Aliya that you guys had to stay to get more work done because we figured you didn't want her to know just yet."

"You would assume right." Helena says as Leon got up and took the clothes from Jill, setting them on the countertop for later when they left.

"How do you feel?"

"Like I got hit by a bus."

"Well hopefully you can go home soon. Also, he was sleeping when we stopped by but tell Jake that he owes me twenty bucks too."

"Why does he owe you money?" Helena asks, raising an eyebrow at the blonde.

"They had a bet about when we'd get together."

Jill gawked, "how did you know?"

"Well, you guys haven't been exactly secretive about it." He says, giving Jill a look and trying to keep a straight face.

Jill returned the same look, leaving as Madison came back into the room holding a clipboard to her chest, jotting stuff down quickly with her pen.

"Well, your test results are all clear, whatever was in your system is gone. Please just rest and take it easy." She explains, taking the IV out of Helena's arm, "now just be careful because you might_" She starts, cutting herself off as Helena got up quickly, only to nearly fall as her legs felt like Jello.

Luckily Leon caught her, preventing her from hitting the floor and causing further damage to her already broken arm. Leon held her until she was steady on her feet more and slowly let go of her, staying close in case she lost her balance again.

"Sorry, my legs feel unstable." Helena explains, suddenly feeling embarrassed about needing Leon to help her with her balance.

"That's alright. It's perfectly normal." Madison says, taking some ointment out of her coat pocket, "this is antibiotic ointment. You need to apply it to the cuts on your back to prevent infection and change the dressings twice a day. Now feel better and call if you have any questions."

Helena took the ointment and placed it on the table next to the bed as Madison left, the two waiting until the door shut again and Leon helped Helena take the sling off so that she could get dressed easier. He tried not to notice the bandages on Helena's back that had blood seeping through from the worst cuts due to the window she had been thrown through. Leon made a mental note to change her bandages as soon as they got home and waited until she finished getting dressed and helped her put her arm back in her sling.

"Okay, you ready?"

"Yeah," she says softly, grabbing the ointment on the bedside table and following Leon out of the room. Helena tried to ignore all the looks that she was receiving as they walked through the infirmary and through the halls to the parking garage where Leon's car was. She had a feeling that everyone knew about what had happened somehow and it just made her more embarrassed.

"Hunnigan wants to see us on Monday to discuss the files that we found.

"Okay that sounds good," she says, getting into the car, staying silent for a majority of the car ride. She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she had pulled a gun on him. She felt so fucked in the head now and it didn't help that other than pulling the gun on Leon that she didn't remember a single damn thing. She felt completely and utterly broken right now.

The two were greeted by Aliya as soon as they walked into the house, who immediately started fussing over Helena seeing as no one told her a single thing about why they didn't come home at all last night, and she knew that what Jill said about them needing to catch up on work was a load of bullshit.

"Hey Aliya, let's give Helena some space, okay? Leon will get her settled and you'll be told about everything that happened soon." Sherry says, leading Aliya back to the living room to watch T.V.

Leon led Helena upstairs to their room and had her sit down on the bed. The blond sat behind her, gently lifting her shirt up and peeling the bandages off to begin changing them. Helena had been almost completely silent since leaving the infirmary, only speaking if he talked to her directly and it worried him. He hadn't seen her this withdrawn since China when her she had time to grieve for her sister. Deborah's death had just sunk in, and she holed herself up in her apartment, drinking herself to oblivion nearly every single day until she was offered a job with the D.S.O.

"What happened last night?" she asks softly, finally speaking up.

"What do you mean?"

"Please, I need to know everything. I remember Phil and pulling a gun on you, but I need to know everything else."

"Well," He starts, unsure of where to start, "we had to fight this mutated thing and you got thrown through a window and Phil injected you with something to make you hallucinate and if I hadn't shot him, he would have killed you. When you pulled the gun on me, you started calling me Simmons."

"I'm sorry." She says, looking down at her lap as Leon put the antibiotic on her scarred back and began putting new bandages on.

"Helena, when you lost consciousness, you mentioned that you failed to protect Deborah. Do you really think that?"

Helena waited a moment before responding, tears starting to fall down her pale cheeks as she spoke next.

"Yes. Yes, I do."
