Another three months had passed since Leon's birthday and it was now the middle of June, and the school year was almost over for Aliya, much to her excitement. Aliya couldn't wait because now that it was summer, Leon and Helena were going to teach her how to swim and ride a bike. She had easily become the most spoiled child that anyone had ever met.

They had managed to get another dose of the serum for Aliya thanks to Claire getting in contact with Ada. Helena had gotten closer to Claire since they had met back in March and the two women went out for drinks biweekly if someone was always around for Aliya.

This afternoon Leon and Helena had gotten a call from Hunnigan to bring Aliya to HQ after she got out of school. The two agents were told that someone was there wanting to speak with them about how replicating the serum for Aliya was coming along. The two agents walked into Hunnigan's office having shown Aliya where the bathroom was and then telling her where to go afterwards and saw a woman with short brown hair wearing a lab coat.

"Who's this?" He asks, eyeing the woman suspiciously, not closing the door all the way as they stepped further into the room.

"This is Rebecca Chambers, she's a friend of Redfield and Valentine and works with the BSAA. She has also been working on a semi-permanent solution for Aliya's issue."

"What kind of Solution?" Helena asks, stepping closer to the two older women.

"Right, so I was able to replicate the serum and put it in this," Rebecca says, holding up a rectangular device that looked like it stuck to your skin.

"Is that a Dexcom? Like for Diabetes?" Leon asks as he took it from the scientist and looked the medical device over.

"It's like a Dexcom except you don't need a phone to tell you when it's running low. I call it an auto-injector and this little light on the back of it will be green when it's completely full and working as it should. Then it will flash red when almost empty and when it's completely empty, it will emit a loud beep. If it ends up working, I have extras that will be given when we know how long one lasts for."

"Huh that's actually cool." Helena says as Rebecca took the device back from Leon.

"Now where is Aliya? I want to show her the basics and everything."

"Oh, she ran to the bathroom, but she should be back soon."

Rebecca nodded, "So I heard she kind of bit someone and they uh had to be put down. Sorry Chris and Jill told me when they told me to put a rush on it."

Leon sighed, "that's right."

"You know, Leon and Helena, I think we should talk about the possibility of her getting out of control," Hunnigan says, unaware that Aliya had come back and been about to enter but stopped and started listening when she heard her name.

"She's just a kid, Ingrid." Helena says, trying to maintain her composure.

"I know but it could happen again and the DSO and BSAA may not be able to cover it up and I was alright with you two not wanting to tell her to protect her. However, I need to know that if it comes down to it, you two_"

"Stop. That boy was making her uncomfortable and tried to assault her. What she did was merciful compared to what me or Helena would have done!" He says, raising his voice, "this conversation is over."

Hunnigan and Leon stared each other down, Leon daring her to finish what she had been about to say, Helena also glaring at her. Rebecca stared at the three and all she could really do was awkwardly stand in the corner during this standoff. The group eventually heard sniffling at the doorway and turned to see Aliya now standing in the open doorway with tears streaming down her face.

"I-I- I infected him. And he-he died!?" She stutters through her tears, her eyes darting around the room at each person in the room, all of which standing there in stunned silence.

"Aliya_" Helena starts, stepping towards her, only for her to back away.

"I killed someone, and you all knew! You all knew!" She yells, "and you guys were just talking about killing me!? Over something I have no control over!?"

"No, that isn't what she was saying. Isn't that right, Hunnigan?" Leon asks, glaring at their boss, wanting her to do some damage control.

"Right…Aliya I really just want to make sure that everyone stays safe."

"Yeah, safe from me." The girl says, turning and rushing out the door. The group stood there for a few minutes before springing into action and rushing after her. The four adults split up to cover more ground and Hunnigan had Sherry put out an alert for everyone else to keep an eye out for Aliya. After over an hour and searching nook and cranny for the thirteen-year-old, they all met in the lobby empty handed.

Aliya was gone.

Trevor was sitting in his bedroom doing his homework. This had been his routine for as long as he could remember. He would come home from school and retreat to his bedroom to do homework, make himself dinner that his mother prepped before leaving for work and then sleep. Trevor got up from his bed and went downstairs when there was a knock on the door and answered it, seeing Aliya standing in front of him. Her eyes were red as if she had been crying, shivering in the pouring rain, the water dripping down her pale features.

"Hey what's going on?"

"Uh I had a bad afternoon. Can I come in?"

Trevor nodded and stepped aside for his friend to enter. She had only been in his house one other time before and that had been just after his father had died. It was still strange for her to be in his house, especially without his mother there. Trevor had her take a shower and took her wet clothes and threw them in the dryer for her since, being an only child, he had no clothes for her to get changed into. Aliya sat on the floor of the shower, letting the hot water run over her body as she tried to stop crying, finally succeeding after what felt like an eternity and climbed out of the shower to find that Trevor had put her now dry clothes outside the door. Aliya got changed and went downstairs where Trevor had the premade chicken pot pie made and the two sat down at the table to eat.

"What happened?" He asked after several minutes while they ate.

"Me and my parents had a fight about me failing math and they grounded me," she lies, turning her phone off to ignore Leon and Helena's calls and texts.

"Oh, I'm sorry. You can stay here if you want, my mom won't be home until right before we have to go to school so she won't care."

Aliya nodded, finishing her plate of food, and putting it in the dish washer, taking the time to look around at the various family photos of Trevor and his parents while she waited for him to finish his food. Seeing how happy they all were made her feel even worse about his father.

"You alright, Aliya?" Trevor asks as he put his plate in the dishwasher, noticing that his friend was deep in thought.

"Oh yeah I was just thinking."

Trevor raised an eyebrow at her and the two decided to watch TV, trying to get Aliya's mind off the events of the afternoon. Aliya found herself starting to feel better about the situation that Leon and Helena had hidden from her for the past eight months. Trevor made sure to be a good host and gave Aliya a pillow and blanket and the two fell asleep in the living room, keeping the TV on as background noise.

Aliya tossed and turned all night until around six when she decided to get up and get ready for school. It was so weird to be sleeping at Trevor's house and she felt bad for storming off and worrying Leon and Helena, but she needed space at this point. Aliya finally turned her phone on, and it wasn't long before all the missed calls and texts notifications from Leon and Helena came through.

"Where are you?"

"Please call me?"

"Just at least let us know you're alright."

That was the gist of the messages and Aliya finally decided to respond, messaging Leon first.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Going to school and I will see you tonight." She responds, putting her phone in her bag as the front door opened and Carla came in, wearing her dark blue scrubs and white coat.

"Trevor, are you ready for…oh Aliya I didn't know you were here."

"Oh yeah I came to do homework and just ended up staying."

"Was he being a good host?"

Trevor rolled his eyes, "yes mom. I fed her, let her have whatever she wanted for drinks and gave her a pillow and a blanket."

Carla chuckled as her son grabbed his backpack and went to wait in the car with Aliya. Aliya suddenly felt anxious as Carla got in the car and began driving the two kids to school. She felt even worse about running off the night before and she was grateful that based off the messages she was receiving Leon and Helena didn't seem mad, just relieved that she was okay. She knew that she'd probably be grounded for life.

"Alright, you two have a good day at school. Will you be okay walking home today?" Carla asks her son as he opens the door.

"Yeah, I'll probably just get a ride home from Aliya's mom."

Carla nodded as both children got out of her car as the warning bell rang and they rushed to class.

Helena stood in the kitchen reading the texts that she finally received from Aliya. It had been a sleepless night for her and Leon as they worried about the girl, and she was torn between being absolutely pissed that she scared them and being relieved that she was alright.

"Hey Aliya texted me and she's alright. She spent the night at Trevor's."

"I know. She sent me the same thing." Helena says, crossing her arms and tapping her foot on the hard wood floors, trying to keep her cool.

"Hey, we'll get to the bottom of this. When she gets home, we are all going to talk this out; then we ground her," he says, making the last part sound like a joke.

Helena snorted, "you can say that again."

"And we both need to remember that she's hurt and she's a teenager. We've run away as teens at some point or another."

Helena sighed, knowing he was right. She and Deborah had both gone off the grid a time or two after their parents died and nearly gave each other a heart attack. They both had a habit of disappearing for days at a time.

"Alright just go to work and I'll pick Aliya up as normal later."

"Are you sure? I can take a sick day and pick her up." Leon asks, seeing how tired she was and not wanting her to drive as he saw the dark bags under her eyes.

"Yeah, I'll catch up on some sleep after you leave. I promise I'll be fine."

Leon rubbed her back and gave her a kiss on the forehead as he grabbed his keys.

"I'll see if I can get out early. Call me when you pick her up, I love you."

"I will, I love you too." She says, giving him another kiss and watching him head out the door for work.

Helena sighed and looked down at her feet where Sylvie was pawing at her.

"Just you and me today," she says, picking the puppy up and bringing her to put her in her crate in Aliya's room and then heading to her own room and attempt some sleep for a few more hours. Helena practically collapsed on the bed, falling asleep quickly.

Helena was in a deep sleep, only waking up a few hours later when she heard the dog barking and trying to get out of her crate. It wasn't the type of barking that was consistent with needing to go out, but the barking consistent with panic and fear. Helena immediately got up and rushed towards Aliya's room, except that she didn't make it. Someone came and grabbed her from behind and Helena lifted her arm and elbowed the intruder in the face and kneeing him in the groan. Helena didn't have any time to think as three more figures came at her and she was overpowered, the three intruders forcing her down the stairs into the kitchen. The men pushed her, making her hit her head on the corner of the kitchen table.

"Where's the kid?" A man not much older than herself demands, pointing his gun at her.

"I don't know." She lies as another tied her hands and feet together with zip ties, making it so that she couldn't fight back. The man kicked her in the stomach, making her cry out in pain. Helena looked around at the four intruders, all of them pointing their guns at her wearing helmets covering their faces and black tactical gear with bulletproof vests.

"I'm going to ask you again. Where is she?"

"I'm telling the truth. I don't know," she says through gritted teeth, only to receive a kick to the face.

"Hey John look at this." Another said, bringing over a school calendar that Aliya had brought home on the first day of school.

"Deal middle school and it looks like they got out at 11:30 today. I suppose we can wait for her to get back." The man, John, said.

Meanwhile, Aliya and Trevor were sitting on the curb of the middle school's pickup lane. They had been given a half day since it was the last week of school and Helena was late coming to pick Aliya up.

"This isn't like her. She's not even answering her phone." Aliya says worriedly as she kept texting Helena.

"Okay well why don't we start walking and you can call your dad on the way and tell him what's up."

Aliya just sighed as the two of them got up and began to walk as she called Leon, who picked up on the second ring.

"Aliya? Is everything okay?"

"Hey dad and no, not really? We had a half day and mom hasn't picked us up yet. We're walking to the house now, but I tried calling and texting her and she hasn't responded."

Leon immediately got up from his desk upon hearing that. This was not like Helena at all. She never forgot to pick Aliya up and it wasn't like her to ignore the phone calls and texts from her either.

"Alright I'm going to call her and see what's up and I'll send Chris and Jill over." He says, not waiting for Aliya's response and hanging up.

"Okay he's going to call her and then send my aunt and uncle over to make sure everything is alright," she says as they get up to the house. The first thing Aliya noticed was a couple of black SUVs on the street in front of the property and then they noticed that the front door appeared to be kicked in.

"Mom!?" She called, rushing into the house with Trevor close behind her. Trevor was instantly whacked in the face and knocked out cold.

"Trevor!" She yelled, only to be grabbed from behind, but biting the man that grabbed her, making him yell in pain.

"Stop!" John yelled, causing everyone to freeze. John looked at the man that Aliya had bit and sighed, taking the gun that he had been aiming at Helena and shooting the one behind her, making her scream as the blood splattered onto her pink shirt and white cardigan, also splattering on her dark blue shorts and her legs, "you know, you've certainly been hard to find."

"What do you want?" she asked, her voice wavering as she saw Helena on the ground behind him and she nervously walked around him and over to Helena.

"We want you. Come with us and we won't hurt her."

Aliya looked at Helena and her bound hands and tiptoed behind her, kneeling, and sneakily taking the ring from her left hand, remembering that she had been told that it was a tracker. Aliya put the ring in her back pocket and stood up.

"Alright, fine. Just don't hurt her."

One of the men grabbed her by her bicep to lead her out but what she hadn't considered was that they would take Trevor too.

"Why are you taking him? He has nothing to do with this!" She says frantically, starting to struggle against their grip.

"You made him part of this by bringing him back with you." John says, the man holding Aliya's arm resorting to picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder as she started to kick and scream as Helena started struggling against her restraints.

"Aliya! We're going to find you, Aliya!" She yells, struggling more until John kicked her in the face to shut her up.

The last thing Helena saw was Aliya and Trevor being carried away and everything went black.
