The war was over. Team Prime was gone and Jack was learning to live with it (whether he wanted to or not). Going back to a normal life, it was the ending of something special, and Jack wasn't sure how he felt about it. Someone else didn't care for it to be the end of their story at all. Leaving loose ends unravels happy endings.
