New posting schedule will be Thursdays or Fridays. Thursdays will most likely be the days I post up a new chapter, but Fridays will be the latest I post unless something comes up :)

Anyways, enjoy this chapter !

Chapter 3:

The last few days had seemed so surreal to the three of them, and it wasn't until they stepped off the plane in Japan that it began to feel real. The wind was blowing strong around them, have caused a bit of turbulence during the landing, and now it served to prove how real everything was. The strong gusts of wind blew Yaeko's hair around her face uncontrollably, effectively driving away her drowsiness from the restless nap she just woke up from.

Already annoyed from the lack of sleep in the last almost 24 hours, she pushed her hair back roughly. She kept a hand on her head to hold the strands back as she scanned the 3 cars lined up on the strip a few feet away from the plane. Endeavor and Yokumiru were standing in front of the line of cars with a few other men in suits.

"That's the number one hero huh?" Noriko asked as she examined the man that would be her mentor. He was in full hero gear, just as he had been when he had come to see her in prison. "He looks like he could crush me with his pinky finger."

Akari coughed to hide her laughter. Yaeko's lips twitched but she held back the smile, examining the seemingly permanent stoic face of his.

"He looks just as bad tempered as you, so perfect person to train you." Akari teased her, ruffling her hair as she strolled passed her.

Noriko slapped her hand away with a harsh glare, her eyes daring her to keep messing with her. Akari's eyes brightened with the unspoken challenge, getting ready to continue the banter.

"Behave." Was all Yaeko said as she walked towards the two men.

Immediately both her sisters settled down and trailed behind her. While they knew that they amused her most of the time, the tone she had used meant she was in serious guardian mode. She didn't use it often, but they younger two had learned early on that one did not ignore it.

"Am I going to Endeavor's agency now?" From the corner of her eye, she could see Noriko frowning as she scanned the cars.

"We will be going with you to get you settle in before heading over to Hawks' agency." Yaeko's tone was matter of fact, leaving no room for argument.

She was not about to let her sister drive off with the pro-hero without seeing for herself that she would be okay. Akari smirked, hoping to see her sister go up against the two men. Considering both men easily towered over the three of them, it would most certainly be amusing to see that happen.

Once they reached the group, all the men bowed low in greeting, which the three returned only with a bow of their heads. Noriko, doing so reluctantly after Yaeko sent her a scathing look, though she did not bother hiding her contempt.

"You will excuse my baby sister's bad manners. As you can imagine, she does not hold you in the highest esteem." Yaeko spoke formerly but didn't chastise her sister.

They had spoken well into the early morning the night after she was released, and nothing was going to change Noriko's opinion about the Hero Commission. The only one she seemed to be inclined to respect was her soon to be mentor, and that was only because she had already admired him as a hero.

"We know this would not be easy, but we will work hard to earn all of your trust." Yokumiru waved it off, smiling gently at the youngest Imai sister.

All three bore such striking resemblances to each other that if not for the different colored hair and eyes, he probably wouldn't have been able to tell them apart. His heart ached as he took in the sight of all three sisters together again. The last time he had been in the presence of the three of them was when they had taken Yaeko into custody and then set the younger two on a plane to California with their grandmother.

Even though she had only barely been 13 at the time, Noriko seemed to still remember him. She was currently glaring intensely at him, her crossed arms rigid and fists clenched tightly against her chest

"Will we be stopping at Endeavor's agency first to help settle Nori in?" Akari asked with an easy smile, throwing her arm around Noriko, sensing the tension radiating from her.

"You may accompany the young Miss Imai, but your elder sister must accompany us to the hospital at once. Mirko, the number 5 hero was hurt in a mission early this morning." Endeavor informed them, his eyes tightening almost as if in pain for his comrade.

"Not even 5 minutes into landing, and already they're putting you to work." Noriko said venomously and would have continued speaking her mind had Yaeko not held her hand up in a stop gesture.

"It's what I'm here for Nori." She gestured for the pro-hero to lead her forward. She started following him to the first car where a balding man with a ridiculous mustache was waiting with the door open.

"Then we will be accompanying you. We can go settle in together afterwards." Akari said breezily, pulling Noriko with her. "Don't bother arguing with us, you know we either go with you the easy way or the hard way. And it seems like this Mirko person's condition is severe and needs attending to immediately."

Yaeko let out a hiss of annoyance but otherwise stayed quiet as she slid into the backseat of the car, moving over to leave room for the pain the asses she called sisters. It didn't seem like anyone was inclined to tell them they couldn't come, something Yaeko was secretly grateful for.

It had been a long time since she had used her quirk and had been hoping she would ease her way into using it. Unfortunately, luck was not on her side today, so she could only hope she wouldn't fuck up and would most likely heavily rely on her sisters afterwards.

Once Endeavor and the bald man slipped into the front seats, they were speeding away towards the city. "Do you have her medical record? I usually like to do a full work out before a surgery, but it seems we won't have time for that." Without hesitation Endeavor handed her a tablet and a manila folder.

"You'll find both your hero and medical licenses in there, as well as your sister's hero license. You weren't meant to start work until Monday, so your hospital credentials aren't available yet."

Yaeko, nodded, listening to him as she handed the manilla envelope to Akari. Her sister immediately opened the envelope while she started going through the Rabbit hero's file. She clicked her tongue as she read the extensive list of injuries the hero had sustained in the Jako Hospital Raid. It was a miracle the woman survived; much less was able to continue hero work.

"We hadn't been expecting this as this was meant to be a recon mission. Things ended up going south and the villain Mirko was facing off had a metal bending quirk that destroyed her hero support items. The one around her midriff was designed specifically to give support and protect her ribs and stomach. In the fight with the high-ends, one of them bit off a nice chunk. It was by pure chance it didn't take a couple ribs with it." Endeavor continued.

"I'll repair the damage to her stomach and ribs but will hold off on anything else until she is fully awake and conscious to make medical decisions." Was her response as she continued to go over the medical file. It went into more detail about her injuries than what Endeavor had already mentioned.

"You don't want to work on her limbs?" He asked turning his head to the side to look at the young doctor.

"Not without her full consent, there are limits to my quirks as well as possible side effects. It all depends on the patient and their medical history. Ethically speaking, I also won't make a medical decision for someone without their say, especially a pro-hero." All three sisters noticed the questioning look his face.

"It makes sense to ask for permission before doing something so drastic, such as reconstructing a lost limb. Especially if the patient is a pro-hero." Akari was the one to answer, her voice soft.

"Mirko received her injuries in the war while fighting for what she believed in. She gave her 100%, knowing she would possibly die. She managed to survive in an impossible scenario while many of her colleagues died. She's already come a long way from then and accepted what happened to her. She's even continued with hero work despite losing two limbs and sustaining life-altering injuries. So, I cannot make this choice for her and will respect whatever she chooses to do." Yaeko continued, grabbing Akari's hand to show she was grateful for her input.

The rest of the ride was silent while Endeavor thought about the young woman's response, feeling a new level of respect for her. He could hear Yaeko and Akari occasionally discussing the procedure the former would be doing on Mirko and wondered briefly if she also had medical training.

He had read all their files, the parts that weren't blacked out, and knew that Akari's quirk was the most different from her sisters, but no less impressive. So far, she seemed to be the more easy-going of the three, but seeing her in person, he knew not to underestimate her. Despite the teasing smile that seemed to be constantly playing on her lips, her eyes were sharp and intelligent. He couldn't help but compare her to Hawks and think about the team those two would make working together.

* UA High*

"Yo Eraserhead!" A loud voice boomed through the halls, making the tired man sigh. He turned his head to see his childhood best friend sauntering down the hall towards him with his signature smile.

"Mic." The man said in greeting, allowing his friend to catch up to him.

He hid a wince as he shifted his weight from the prosthetic leg to his remaining one. The infection he had gotten after cutting his leg off had thrown his recovery back, much to his frustration. His biggest concern had been not being cleared for the prosthetic before the school semester started back up.

It was bad enough his pro-hero career was basically over; he didn't want to lose his teaching one either. He had just recently been cleared to use the prosthetic and was still getting used to the uncomfortable feeling.

"You got got any idea why Principle Nezu called for a faculty meeting later?" The blonde man asked once he was next to him. Both resumed their walk down the hall together.

"No, just that it was mandatory, and that he wanted to see me before it started." It was the reason he was making his way down to see his boss.

He figured he'd get the meeting over with as quick as possible. Part of him was anxious, hoping it wasn't to tell him he could no longer be the teacher for the hero course. He didn't think he would be able to cope if that was the case.

"Wait what? Just you?" Had Shota Aizawa not been basically immune to his best friend from all their years of knowing each other, he was sure the man would have blown his eardrums.

"That's what I said." He muttered as he reached the hall where the principles office was located.

"Want me to come in with you?" His usually energetic friend was suddenly somber.

Part of him wanted to tell him no, that he could handle whatever was coming alone. But lately his emotions were getting the best of him. With the losses they had suffered from the war and his own hero career coming to an end, it was getting to be a lot even for him. And for that reason, he nodded his head in acceptance of his friends offer.

They stopped in front of the principal's office, both quiet as Eraserhead worked the courage to knock. When he finally did, the feeling of dread just increased. He wasn't ready to lose another part of himself. He cared deeply for his students and had been willing to risk his life for them. Had done that very thing when he cut his leg off, trying his damn hardest to hold on for Midoriya's sake as he fought Shigaraki.

He was so lost in his thoughts, that one minute he had been staring at the closed door, and the next he was inside Nezu's office, standing in front of him. He was taken aback when he saw Hawks standing to the left of the principle, who was sitting in his chair.

Eraserhead's eye narrowed as he studied both, not liking the fact that he was here too. Nezu, as always was hard to read, while Hawks was just as perplexing as always. He didn't say anything, just stood there with that lazy smile of his face, his hands in his pockets.

"Mic, I wasn't expecting you, but I'm also not surprised to see you here." Nezu said pleasantly, moving to set up another cup of tea for the pro-hero.

"Just came to support my friend." Was all he said back, and Aizawa was suddenly extremely grateful his friend had come with him. With Hawks' presence, he wasn't sure what was about to be said, and that made his anxiety kick up a notch.

"Well, in that case, let's get started. Hawk's care to take the lead?" A fury paw motioned to the winged hero to go ahead.

"As you both know, we have been struggling with the limited number of hero's left after the war. Many have either retired or been forced to limit field work due to injuries they sustained." Hawks looked directly at Aizawa, making him feel uncomfortable.

Hawks had also sustained severe damage during battle, but fortunately for him, his wings had been able to grow back, albeit incredibly slow. Even now, his wings weren't fully grown back but he was already back to full time hero work. He was just barely able to fly but was unable to extend his recovery with all the extra work the remaining heroes were facing.

"Yes, part of the plan was looking overseas to foreign companies to assist with hero support items." He said carefully, knowing his prosthetic was a design from a collaboration between one of UA's top hero support course students and one of these foreign companies.

It was meant to help him regain most of his mobility so he could continue to teach and possibly return to hero work. His quirk may be basically useless, but he could still use his capture weapon and fight. It was his daily motivation to continue pushing his recovery.

"Precisely, but there was one other solution that had taken some time to work through."

Between his tone and wording, it seemed like Hawks was trying to choose his words carefully. Looking to the principle, Eraserhead noted the small fury principle was staring at his folded paws, waiting for Hawks to finish speaking. Mic and Aizawa shared a look, before looking back at Hawks as he continued explaining.

"It's a complicated situation as the Hero Commission is limited on what they can say about it. But basically, there was a pro-hero turned Doctor in Sapporo who has a molecule manipulation type quirk, very similar to Overhauls. She has been in a state penitentiary in California for the past for years for killing a hero. The circumstances behind the incident are unknown and cannot be disclosed by the hero commission." Mic's jaw dropped in shock, while Aizawa simply stared at him blankly.

"Your solution is to what? Offer a reduced sentence to a killer for her to play doctor for us?" Aizawa asked sarcastically.

This was ridiculous, and he couldn't believe they were even contemplating this. It had to be a joke. There was no way the commission was willing to trust a villain with something as delicate as the lives of heroes.

"That's exactly what the hero commission did, though to call her a villain is a bit of a stretch. From what little has been disclosed, she lost control of her quirk when she tried to use it in self-defense. Her file talks about a promising hero with a focus in first aid and rescue, who eventually turned to the medical field. She was quickly moving up in the ranks of trauma surgeons in Japan when everything happened." Hawks said evenly, though his eyes narrowed on Aizawa.

"Doesn't change the fact that she killed another pro. Who knows if we'll be able to fully trust her." Mic placed a hand on Aizawa's shoulder, taking a step forward.

"Eraser's right. You say it was in self defense, but how can we trust that if you're withholding information about it. The woman was sent out of Japan to a high security penitentiary in the states. If it was self-defense, the hero commission wouldn't have decided to send her to a penitentiary out of the country."

"Unfortunately, it seems the family of the hero that was killed holds a lot of influence in Japan. There isn't much we know about the situation either since the Commission is bound by a non-disclosure and cannot give out the full details of the case. I can't even get my hands on the name of the Hero that was killed or details about his family." Hawks muttered, looking annoyed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I've wanted to start digging around for more information because the case rubs me the wrong way. But I don't want to stir up trouble for the three of them, so I'm holding back for now."

"Three?" Mic and Aizawa asked simultaneously.

"It seems that when Miss Yaeko Imai was exiled from Japan, the sentence was extended to her two younger sisters as well. Their parents were killed by a villain when the oldest Imai sister was 18 years old. So, the decision was mostly due to Yaeko Imai being their legal guardian and the second oldest was unable to take custody of the youngest because she was a few months shy of her 18th birthday. Their only remaining family was their maternal grandmother that lived in California, hence why that was where Miss Imai was sent to complete her sentencing." Principle Nezu spoke up this time.

"Did you say Yaeko Imai?" Mic perked up hearing the familiar name. It did ring a bell for Aizawa as well, but he couldn't remember why.

"Yes, I believe you might have heard of her from Nemuri, she was her mentor. Yaeko Imai worked under Midnight briefly before she decided to become a doctor." Nezu was the one that spoke up this time. Immediately memories of a beautiful young woman with dark forest green hair and hypnotizing gold-green eyes flashed behind his eyes.

Nemuri had hundreds of pictures decorating her apartment, and he had remembered the picture of Yaeko Imai catching his attention and questioning his friend about her. He had expected her to respond in her usual coy way but was surprised to see the sadness that filled her eyes as she gazed at the picture.

All she had said was that the girl was a precious friend who had been terribly hurt. He had wanted to push for her to explain but the look in her eyes had stopped him. He had never asked about her again, but he had found himself drawn to that picture many times over the years.

"Nemuri had cared deeply about her, but never spoke a word about what happened to her." Mic voiced what Aizawa had been thinking.

"She was also bound by a non-disclosure, having been one of the heros to speak up on Miss Imai's behalf." Hawks said as he checked his phone after it went off. "And as for your concerns Eraser, about whether she can be trusted or not, I just received some news. She landed in Japan this morning and was taken to the hospital straight away to work on Mirko who was injured on a mission earlier today. She not only saved her life, but also waited for Mirko's consent to discuss working on her missing limbs. They plan on having the reconstruction done within the next couple weeks." He waved his phone at him, showing us the screen, which had a picture of a smirking Mirko who, if he hadn't been told, wouldn't have known had been injured.

"She's going through with recovering her limbs with that woman?" Aizawa asked skeptically.

Hawks lowered his phone to send a quick text back before shoving it back into his pocket. "Yes, though Mirko has only requested that Dr. Imai work on only her leg. Most of the power from her quirk came from her legs, which is the only thing she wants to focus on. Her arm on the other hand, she decided to leave as a reminder of her fight with the high ends."

"Does this mean Eraserhead could do a consultation with her to get his eye and leg back?" Mic's eyes widened as he leaned forward.

It was a crazy concept to wrap his head around. Just a few minutes ago, he was resigned to living with his new disabilities, but suddenly there was hope in get this life back.

"Yes, and it was part of the reason it was decided to bring her back to Japan. All our contingency plans revolved around needing Eraserhead's quirk to slow Shigaraki down when the time comes." Hawks smiled cynically. "Of course, you won't be the only hero that will be seeing her, she has also been assigned to Best Jeanist, Katsuki Bakugo and Izuko Midoriya. As you may know Best Jeanist has been limited in his quirk usage due to the strain in his lungs. Bakugo's heart stopped after it was pierced with Shigaraki's blade quirk and survived due to Best Jeanist's quick thinking. Midoriya, well that's obvious, his body has taken on some serious damage because of the drawback of his quirk. These days though, he seems to have much more control on it, but his arms are still at risk for permanent damage. Aside from them, her focus will be life threatening and incapacitating injuries. It also helps that she has field experience, as she will most likely be asked to join the battlefield to assist any injured heroes during the next fight."

"The second oldest Imai sister will be joining Hawk's agency as a new hero rising, and the youngest will be joining the third-year hero course here. Of course, she is currently behind on the hero curriculum due to her circumstances. Considering you have been tutoring young Hitoshi Shinso to help him catch up with the hero course students, it only makes sense she joins you both." Nezu piped up, pouring himself a second cup of tea. A blood vessel throbbed in Aizawa's temple, threatening to pop from irritation.

"If she is so behind, what qualifies her to join the hero course? It took almost a whole year to have Hitoshi Shinso transferred in." Aizawa glowered, his expression taking on a terrifying look.

"Noriko Imai was forbidden from enrolling in any hero courses because of her sisters sentencing. But because all three of the Imai children have varying versions of the same quirk, it was decided that she would go through quirk training. A few of which she did with Midnight on the occasions she visited the Imai family." Nezu held up a thick file with Noriko's name on it. "According to her assessments, she is more than qualified to join the hero course. I did inform Yokumiru that the first requirement would be for her to get her provisional hero license. Endeavor will have her take the exam in a month. You are free to sit in and watch how she does."

Aizawa took the file from Nezu, reading over all the notes from the quirk assessor as well as Midnights. His heart clenched painfully as he read through the familiar handwriting. It was clear the young girl had plenty of potential, the only problem he could really see was her temper issues. He snorted in amusement when he saw Midnight's comment about how the girl reminded her of Class A's hothead, Katsuki Bakugo.

"Seems like I'll be having my hands full with two students trying to catch up with class 3A. That class has been through much more than any other hero class since their freshman year. And even though he improves every day, Shinso still has much more to learn. Miss Imai will have her work cut out for her."

"Everything she has gone through is exactly why she will fit in perfectly." Nezu commented happily, polishing off the last of his tea before getting up from his seat. "Now come, it is time for the faculty meeting. We will inform the rest of the staff about Miss Imai and the expectations of this school year with a new hero course student."

Aizawa turned to follow the principle and Nezu, when Hawks intercepted him. He regarded the pro- hero curiously, wondering what it was that he wanted with him.

"You have an appointment with Yaeko Imai tomorrow morning at 10. She prefers conducting a full examination and consulting with her patients before moving forward with any procedure."

"I never agreed to accepting her as a doctor." As desperate as he was for anything that could get him back to hero work, he wasn't sure how he felt about Yaeko Imai.

She had killed a hero, even if it had been in self defense. There were other options to incapacitate an opponent without having to kill them. But even as he thought that he knew it wasn't always true.

It was never so black and white when in the middle of a life or death situation. Heroes tried their hardest to avoid a killing shot, but sometimes it was inevitable. That was the only reason why he wasn't entirely opposed to going to the appointment. That and his years worth of curiosity of the woman.

"Please just come, if you are still uncomfortable after meeting and speaking with her, then I understand."

Aizawa stared at him with his single eye for a moment further before nodding his head in agreeance. Hawks bowed his head in thanks, moving aside to allow the UA teacher to continue his way.

Though Mic and Principle Nezu had waited for him, he still dragged behind them, walking leisurely. Mostly it was because of the pain in his leg, the other was because he was lost in his own thoughts. His mind was going over the entire conversation repeatedly.

It was safe to say he was distracted for most of the faculty meeting. Part of him hopeful about tomorrow's appointment. Not just because he would be able to recover his eye, but because the pain in his leg was getting worse. He hated to admit, but he had pushed himself hard the last couple months. Another part of him was looking forward to finally meeting the woman he had wondered about for years.
