I would like to thank everybody who review last chapter, dm'd me or even answered me. Y'all are amazing.

So University got delayed once again. It's cool since it allowed me to release this chapter but I am about to have 4 terms squeezed into 3 and I am not looking forward to that but that's irrelevant I guess.

You know how these go. There's always a couple things before the story:

I think every 5 to 10 chapters I will rewrite them, just to make some spelling and grammar fixes. That way I don't leave it for too long and then spend a year not releasing anything. I can also then fix storyline gaps that I accidently made from not rereading my chapters before I upload them… which is a very bad habit I know.

Does anybody know of any good grammar software checkers? I do realize that there are beta readers and all that but I prefer to rather not ask one just out of a lack of trust since I've seen other readers have problems.

Also I am currently thinking if I actually want to write a completely non-ghost fanfiction or just no Phantom Danny fiction so as soon as that's thought about I will probably have a chapter out.

I did make a real life rapper reference in here, I don't want to do it too often. Just because of things like the animation didn't use any real life things (that I can remember) but I might make some references here and there. I definitely won't be using real places though; I would much rather create my own places and name them myself. That way it becomes more personal based on how Amity Park doesn't really exist. I don't know if that made sense but yeah I am just putting that there.

Welcome to the next chapter.

Chapter 3: Broken Glass

The next morning after Paulina had woken up and allowed her mind to be brought into the land of the living, the previous day/early morning had started to fill her head once again.

Her eyes had scanned the room, it looked very basic but in a simplistic way. Over on his desk stood his books, which probably had little to no work in. Above it was a monitor attached to the wall with speakers next to it but her eyes had caught the cable which was lying next to a controller. She has searched for his console but never found it just deciding that he probably had it somewhere for some reason.

His closet door was open, allowing her to see some of the clothes he had, and the first thought that ran through her head was outfits that would fit each style she saw.

The draws next to his bed probably just held everything he would need such as his cologne or his wallet, she had wanted to check but decided against it out of respect for his privacy.

He didn't even have any RGB lights she noticed as she looked up towards the ceiling. 'What gamer doesn't have lights? Again as I said, he is a weird one.'

Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone started buzzing, reaching over to it she saw that it was just a notification about some YouTuber dropping a video and then noticed that the time had read 7:30, 'I should probably just go back to sleep but I've slept for like how long already. I'll just phone Star.' She thought as she went to her call log to find her name faster.

"Are you crazy?" Paulina had heard a very tired Star on the opposite side of the phone, she probably wasn't expecting Paulina to phone her awake.

"You said I must phone you awake. What did you expect me to do?" Star had complained for a couple of minutes before she accepted everything and allowed Paulina to speak.

"So do you want a summary of it or do you want the full story?"

"Just give me the full story. Might as well hear about it one time." Star had made her way downstairs to make her coffee, trying anything to force herself to stay awake.

"Wait go fetch your earphones? I don't want your parents hearing about how I slept at a boy's house. They're supposed to think I'm the innocent one." Star had just rolled her eyes at her best friend, she was the innocent young girl in Star's parent's eyes. Even though half of the bad ideas which involved them were because of her.

"Argh, just give me a sec. I'll go get it while the kettle boils." Star said as she made her way back upstairs to go retrieve the device which would continue to disguise Paulina's true nature.

On her way upstairs she had passed her Dad who had overreacted to Star not only being awake at such an early hour but had already been up before him.

"You're awake? How is this possible... Honey, come take a picture, Star is awake?" Star had just sarcastically laughed at the way her father had gone on, his dad jokes had gotten old a very long time ago.

"I'm only awake because of this little demon." She said flashing the phone to her father who grabbed the phone out of her hand and proceeded down the stairs talking to Paulina.

"Hey, Paulina. Why are you awake so early? Do you know this is the first time that she has been up before 10 on a weekend? I almost had a heart attack when I saw her."

"Hey, Mr..." Paulina had tried to speak to Star's father but was interrupted when the owner of the phone had grabbed her phone back. As she turned back to go fetch her earphones the last thing she had heard from her father was a loud, "Rude little girl." which caused a smile to form on her face. They had a good relationship going on which she wouldn't trade for anything else in the world.

As she made her way back to her room she had just shouted a quick good morning to her mother which was returned.

"Moving on though, they can't hear me so just speak I'm by my room."

"So, you know how Danny and I are partners for the debate. So yesterday after our first call when both you and Kwan left Dash said he'd come to get me and take me to Danny's house... Blah, blah, blah, we end up here and Danny's leaving."

"Why was he leaving?"

"Oh, so that idiot Dash forgot to tell Jazz that I was coming with him. So Danny didn't know I was coming over." Star had just shaken her head at hearing that, but had not replied. One thing they learned about Dash was if Jazz was involved he forgot about every other thing that needed to happen.

"But Star when I tell you that this boy looked good... I mean he looked GOOD!"

"Huh?"

"I mean like he dressed really, like really, really well. He was wearing some turtle neck with a puffer jacket and some cargo pants. When Dash and I saw him we both kind of just froze for a second. It was so unexpected."

"Where did he go? I mean if he was all dressed up where was he heading?"

"No idea, he told Jazz that he was running an errand and that he would be back later. Other than that I have no idea where he went."

"After that, the three of us just chilled, and it was never awkward for me. I didn't feel like a third wheel, honestly, Jazz is cool to be around."

"I got a headache and just kind of fell asleep and then I woke up in Danny's bed but listen to this. I woke up to a wolf on top of me looking as if it was about to eat me alive! Danny did come in time to stop him from doing anything but when I tell you I saw my life flash before my eyes."

"After that, I checked my phone, saw all my missed calls. Danny lied for me to stop my mother from biting my head off and then they told me about the storm that was coming in. Honestly I'm surprised that my father didn't just say fuck it he'll risk it and drive to fetch me but the reports must've been bad if he didn't come to fetch me."

"We spoke about whatever, it got deep for a little bit, he spoke about his ex and I spoke about mine. He also didn't attempt to make any move, at all. He was very respectful but he did like kind of tell me what to do and I was like oh, okay. I don't know why but like he showed a little bit of a controlling side which made me keep quiet, my whole mindset on him did a complete 180 last night."

"I just can't picture it though. Fenton? The weird nerd who sits in class and speaks about... Well, whatever."

Paulina had stopped her talking when she heard a knock on the door, indicating that the owner of the room she occupied was finally awake.

"Hold on Star. Come in." She said as she took the pom-pom out of her hair, allowing it to loosely fall before once again putting everything in a bun.

"Making yourself look good for bae?" Paulina heard as Star tease but ignored it when Danny slowly opened the door.

"Good morning," Danny said and everything went blank for Paulina. She had not expected his morning voice to be so deep.

"Paulina, respond to him. Damn stop thirsting over him." Star had said on the other side of the phone, snapping her best friend back to reality. "Good morning, just give me a second. Star I'll talk to you later." She said before Star had even replied she hung the phone up not waiting for a goodbye.

"How did you sleep?" Danny said as he made his way into the room, smiling at how she went lower into the blankets when the rain and wind picked up.

"Good, I got a full night's rest. I love this weather; it is very therapeutical." When Paulina looked at Danny she had been expecting him to look like a mess, however it was the complete opposite, the boy was standing topless with grey sweats on, how he showed no sign of being affected by the weather made her wonder.

'Grey sweats, a deep voice and he comes walking in here without a top. Since when has he even been that toned? Keep your eyes above his waist. Fuck! Somebody, please help me before I commit a sin.'

"How are you not getting cold? It's still storming outside."

"I don't know, I'm a weird kid. I get warm when it's cold and I stay cool when it's hot." Danny said as he went into his draw next to his bed, taking his broken charger out from the side of his bed and plugging his phone into charge. Paulina had seen how broken his screen was as well, and as she inspected the phone she saw that it was a model from 3 years ago.

"Damn Danny, don't you think you should get a new phone? I mean at least get a new screen." She said laughing, more in a joking manner than making fun of him.

"Ha. Ha. Ha." He sarcastically said, "I mean I'd like to but I just don't have the cash, I keep spending it on other shit like clothes or whatever." Paulina looked at him with sympathy, "I also need to fix my console over there, I just have too many interests with too little money. Tucker wants to fix it but he is going to spend his own money because he doesn't have the parts and I'm not going to ask Sam either so I'll just deal and complain about it. It's worked so far." Danny said as if it was just how things worked.

He seemed to have accepted his reality which Paulina couldn't imagine one time back in, 'Damn, last year my screen cracked and instead of replacing the screen they bought me a while new phone.' The further she thought about it the more she realized how little she knew about not having what she wanted. 'I am the typical rich girl that you see in movies.'

"You hungry? I mean it is like kind of late morning so I don't know if you want anything." Danny asked as he stretched in front of her, waiting for the satisfying pop to happen.

"I could eat, what do you have?"

"Porridge, bacon and eggs, toast with something. I actually don't know what's in the fridge."

"Can I have bacon and eggs please?"

"Coming right up your majesty. You coming down or do you want me to bring it here?"

"I'll come down with you."

"There is a dark toothbrush in the bathroom that hadn't been opened, right on the sink for you to use."

"Damn is my breath that bad?" Paulina said as she put her hand in front of her mouth to check her breath.

"No idiot. I'm just not sure if you eat your breakfast before or after you brush your teeth." Danny said as he slowly shook his head at her being gullible.

"I usually eat afterwards and then just goggle."

"Well then, let me escorts you to the dining area."

"You and over-exaggerating everything."

Paulina had gotten up and immediately felt the cold. Instant regret hit her as she started to shiver.

"You can still stay if you want to or you can just take a jacket or the blanket. Whatever you would like to do."

"I don't want to drag your blanket on the floor. So I'll just take a jacket." Even though Paulina said that she didn't believe it either but Danny had not questioned it in any way so she just let it go.

She made her way towards his cupboard and once again starred at his collection. Choosing to take a sherpa jacket out of warmth and looks. Again his cologne still held onto the jacket and hoodie she wore.

Amoux had made his presence known when they arrived downstairs when he had playfully jumped on Danny and they were currently in a play fight. Paulina was still nervous about the wolf's presence but she wasn't scared anymore.

"Yeah, and what are you going to do?" Danny said as he pulled the wolf's tail for the third time. Amoux growled back at Danny before he tried to bite his hand. From the outside, it might have looked hostile but Paulina could see it was their way of playing. 'He probably knew that he won't be able to get Danny's hand anyways.'

The game ended after a couple of minutes when Danny just patted Amoux's head and walked towards the kitchen followed by Amoux who laid in the corner after looking at Paulina and going on.

"I don't think he likes me."

"That's not it. He is just bad with new people, but he is treating you better than my ex. He bit her by her hair and dragged her down the stairs, haven't seen her since."

Paulina had tried not to laugh. She didn't want to, since she knew how scary it was being on Amoux's wanted list. "Damn, that's crazy. Did he have a good reason?"

"I don't know. To this day all I know is that he did that. She ran out and then boom I was blocked on everything. We were in that early vibe stage. So technically she's not my ex."

"Need any help?" Paulina asked as Danny started collecting the pans.

"Yeah, can you get the oil? In the top shelf there." He pointed towards the shelf across the room as she got up to get everything. However, after she opened the cupboard she tried to reach for the oil and couldn't reach it at all. Glancing to her side she saw Danny's back towards her and decided to pull the move she has been doing for so many years as she stood on her toes and then started bringing one of her legs up to start climbing the counter before Danny could see.

"You could have just asked for help you know right?" She heard as she slowly turned around to see a very amused Danny watching her climb the counter.

"I'm very experienced in this line of work. Tall people would not know about this." She stubbornly said as continued to bring her other leg upwards.

"In what aspect? Climbing counters at other people's houses... I don't think that's something the be proud of." Danny laughed as he made his way towards her and reached over her to easily fetch the oil.

"Next time. Just ask for help." Danny whispered in her ear. As his breath hit between her shoulders it sent a shiver through her body and caused it to slightly jerk. Her one knee slid off the counter as her body was about come crashing down hard against the counter she felt a hand grab a hold of her stomach while another landed on her forehead and quickly brought it back. Stopping it from hitting the cupboard that contained the oil which Danny had somehow gently put down before stopping another brutal injury that she would have. 'His reaction time is fast.' Paulina noted before noticing that Danny was holding her by her stomach and just as she realized that her stomach twirled. 'Like I haven't had enough to deal with, now you're also crushing on this damn boy!'

"You fine?"

"Ye- Yeah. Thanks." She said before Danny picked her up and carried her to a chair. "Now don't move. With your clumsiness you might just hurt yourself," he laughed at her expression and wanted to make it sound worse, "Or even worse than that... You might hurt me." He quickly moved out of the way as she hit the air. "I was going to make the food anyways. Just let me do everything and then I'll let you control the music. Remember my cooking is based on your playlist, so if you're playing trash then don't expect to have an amazing meal."

"Boy, please. My music is nothing less than amazing. If that cooking is bad, then you just suck."

"Watch that mouth of yours. I might just get you addicted and then never allow you to taste it ever again."

'I want a taste of something else…' She thought as she glanced down and caught herself when she hit his stomach area.

The rest of the morning was the two of them having friendly banter; when Paulina saw him make himself cereal instead of eating bacon and eggs with her and listening to music while singing. Paulina was surprised at how he seemed to just go into his zone when he liked the song, his voice did not match his vibe but she did not mind in any type of way.

The music stopped when her ringtone went off and she saw that it was her mother, "She probably wants to make sure that I'm okay." She said before she answered.

"Yes, old lady." Danny had not expected that and choked on his spit as Paulina played with death.

"I'm going to kill you when you get home." Mrs. Sanchez said on the other side of the phone as Paulina laughed at her. "Is everything fine on your side?"

"Yes, everything is good on this side. Danny is… He's fine I guess." Danny had stopped laughing as he looked at her, "Hey! Don't lie. Mrs. Sanchez, she's lying. She ordered me to make her food and then stole my clothes!" Danny shouted from across the room.

Paulina heard her mother put on a fake strict voice while reprimanding her. "But on to other news. The storm is still going on but it's not too bad. As in we can come and fetch you. Have you finished everything?"

"Oh yeah about that. Nah we were going to finish but then we took a break so we will be done in like…" She looked at Danny, as much as she wanted to return to her own house, she enjoyed Danny's vibe and didn't want to leave it. Even with that thought, she had not wanted to overstay her welcome. "How long will it take? Like an hour or two or what?" She asked as she caught his eye.

"Not sure," he could see that she wanted to stay for a while longer. "I don't know if you have anything else to do today."

"Nothing planned at all."

"Like 2 to 3 hours. It's still quite a bit of work."

"In 3 hours, mom. We still have a lot of work." Paulina heard a huff on the other side as her mother laughed. "2 to 3 hours. I bet you didn't even work. Your father and I will come through then. Work please, don't play games with your boyfriend."

"I… I… Goodbye." And with that, she hung up the phone. Trying to avoid her mother calling her out on not working more than anything else.

The rest of their day consisted of them actually working and coming to a conclusion on what their debate topic would be, taking a topic that would be able to be constructed on both agreeing and disagreeing with the statement which they finished within the first hour. She had asked him to take a photoshoot of her which he had agreed to after a while of convincing, "Move your leg a bit to the right. Chin up. Just give me a second, the lighting is bad, I'll open the curtain a bit."

He had gone from shy guy to professional model shooter in seconds. She wanted to comment but instead just went along with it. 'These are going to be amazing or they're going to be very bad.'

"You want more?"

"No, I think that's enough. Let me see," She said as she took her phone back. "Danny. These are good. Like really fucking good! Do you do photography?"

"No, I just learned from the photographers I know. I just asked them what they look for in pictures and they just started speaking about how cameras and lighting work. It's not complicated once you get a hang of it."

"Damn, you're my new camera person. Do you come in travel size? That way I can just take you out when I need you. I didn't expect this."

Danny was looking from side to side as he kept quiet which had not gone unnoticed by Paulina. He seemed to struggle with receiving compliments. He could deal with one here and there but once it becomes a full-on topic he would shy away from the topic, 'Cute.'

"You want to watch something?"

"Yeah, we can."

"Well let's see what Netflix has," Danny said as he went to the couch across from her, as cool as they were. They weren't that close yet.

When it was time to leave she had offered to change her clothes but Danny said it was fine and that he would get it from her when he saw her at school or she could give it to Dash and he could just return give it back to him. She agreed and ran to the car before returning to the still-open door to take his number.

"Now don't give it to everybody. If they find out, you have a Fenton's number they might just steal your phone to get it."

"I should be telling you that. Oh yeah and thanks."

"Thanks for what exactly?"

"Your hospitality, oh yeah, and these new clothes."

"Oh, you think they're yours? I dare you not to return them and then see what happens. I dare you." Danny said as he watched her run away in the rain while waving and screaming goodbye to him. She got in the car as they both had similar thoughts, "I should've just given him/her a hug."

As the week went on Danny had filled Sam in with what was currently happening in the Ghost Zone. She immediately told him that it was a trap but he shrugged it off, explaining to her that Skulker wasn't telling him out of kindness but instead for his own personal gain.

That however had not been what pushed her over the top. As he explained that Paulina had slept over, in his bed she had flipped as thoughts of Danny sleeping with the enemy made her want to fight the birth of them. He had tried to calm her down for a couple of minutes before giving up and just letting her speak as she pleased. Tucker had just thrown his 2 cents in now and again to make it worse for Danny as he enjoyed the show from a safe distance.

Danny couldn't argue with what she was saying though since it was all true. She spoke about the way she treated them badly at almost every opportunity she received but wouldn't listen to Danny telling her that he had not planned for her to even be by his house, to begin with.

Sam went on her rant for a while longer before allowing Danny to speak about his side, scoffing at him when he said she seemed nicer than he expected. Saying that he was thinking with the head between his legs. Danny had defended himself by telling Sam that they were just temporary friends, once the project ended so would their relationship. She would've believed him if Paulina had not called him that exact moment and at the moment Sam had convinced him to somehow put the call on speaker. Allowing both her and Tucker to hear the call as well.

"Hey."

"Hey, you know things about laptops right?"

"Kind of, what did you break now."

"It's not charging."

"Did you check that it's plugged in? Also, make sure the plug is on."

"Yeah, it is. It's not that I tried it."

"It might be the charger itself. That or the port. The easiest way to check is to replace the charger and if it still won't charge then it might need to be sent for repairs."

"Argh, can't you just come over and fix it?"

"I'm not a technician. I'll look at what it can be though."

"It's fine but thanks. What are you doing today?"

"I'm chilling with Sam and Tucker, why?" He heard a moment of silence before she spoke again. "Never mind. It's cool, I'll leave you. Thanks though." The disappointment was easily heard by Danny but he kept quiet, "Talk later. Bye."

He saw his friends looking at him, Sam had an irritated face while Tucker was struggling to hold his excitement in. "What's going on?"

"Can't you see that she's using you? She phoned you for her laptop." Sam said as she crossed her arms, 'She really won't let it go.'

"No. She wants the D. I bet there's no problem, she just wanted to see if you could chill." Tucker interrupted, causing Sam to look at him in disgust.

"You're both wrong. She just needed help and I helped her. Nothing more, nothing less. Now let's order because I'm getting hungry. "Danny finished, moving on before either one of the two could make their case. His phone buzzed when Paulina sent him a message telling him that the charger wasn't plugged into the laptop properly, 'Dumbass.' He thought with a slight smile.

As everything proceeded the day of their debate came up as well, both had a solid argument and Paulina was declared the winner because Danny had to run out of the classroom just as he ended his speech, his ghost senses being trigged halfway through it.

The Latina had proven Sam wrong as she still spoke to Danny over the phone and hung out with him when they were both free, her crush had grown for him to the point where Star was telling her to drop some type of hint for the boy but the Queen B's nerves were to high so she instead wanted to play the long game with him even asking him out on dates which wasn't officially a date.

Paulina explained that her cousins were supposed to fly into the country but due to snow, the plane couldn't take off, and instead they were stuck in the airport. So she was currently at home while Star, Dash, and Kwan had already gone on a road trip during the early hours of the morning.

He had agreed as she offered to pick him up instead of forcing him to walk or to Uber to her house.

"I'll be there in 30 minutes."

"Yeah cool, I should be done in the next 10 to 15 anyways."

She had instead left 45 minutes later after she started to straighten and then Platt her hair. She phoned Danny who immediately came outside and saw her wearing his jacket. He just rolled his eyes as he walked to the passenger seat cursing her out in his mind.

'This dumbass thinks I'm playing.'

"Where we going?"

"I don't know; I feel like going to the arcade or whatever."

"You sure about that?"

"Yeah. Why are you saying it like that?"

"It's just that a lot of people from school go there on Fridays. So I don't know if you want to be seen with me alone."

"Stop being stupid. People can think whatever they want to."

"I don't care. I just funny to know if your image will be the same after you get seen enjoying the company of a nerd... Who barely passes his subjects."

"Look here Danny I don't care who sees us together, a matter of fact I want to show you off to the world," She has rested her hand on his cheek as he seemed to be lost in her eyes. "So that they can know that I take care of the mentally disabled." And just like that, the moment was gone and he laughed. She knew how to capture somebody's attention.

Their little arcade date had gone well, a few heads turning here and there as school kids noticed them but neither one of the two minded as they just stayed in their world, splitting up after it had gotten late. Paulina had wanted to stay but Danny had not wanted to be the reason she missed her curfew.

The day after the fight he had gone complete ghost, literally. It had been fight after fight. In the early morning, he had fought a mini goblin who stole from everybody. He had struggled to catch the goblin for a while until the three set a trap by leaving a bunch of valuables on the ground. Tucker had been reluctant to agree to the plan as the valuables were mostly his tech. Luring the goblin straight to him where he beat it and gave all the stolen items to the police. Allowing them to deal with the problem.

Next, he then fought a ghost bear who had learned martial arts and was currently on a quest to become the best fighter. It had been a friendly fight as the bear had not wanted to do any type of damage to the town so they went somewhere else. Danny had won as he outmaneuvered the bear and swept it off of its feet. The bear returning home without any other ruckus, declaring Danny as its new rival. Both Tucker and Sam had not gotten involved as they returned to Danny's side to say bye to the bear who revealed its name as Krin.

A few more hours had passed as Danny recovered from his fight, just to be alerted by another ghost. All of them moaned, none wanting to gear up again. They sent Danny ahead, all hoping for it to just be Box Ghost looking for attention.

Danny had gotten to the scene of the crime to see a ghost waiting on a bench for him. Not causing any ruckus. Just sitting there and following him with his eyes.

"What do you want?" No answer was given. "One of those, huh? Well, I am a very good guy, so I will give you a choice. Return to the ghost zone or I will take you back." Danny said looking at the ghost in front of him. He seemed to be the same height as Danny but much wider around his stomach. His eyes were covered by some sunglasses and he wore a snapback cap. A big chain hung over his stomach and a mic in his right hand.

As Danny waited to see what was happening he did not expect the fat ghost to shoot towards him at incredible speed. 'Damn his fast.' Danny thought as the ghost came crashing down towards him, using his momentum to his advantage. His punch had knocked Danny into the ground, leaving a small dent in the area he landed.

Both Sam and Tucker had arrived at that time to see the speed of the ghost. "How can he move so quick? He is built like an old-school rapper. I mean he looks like Biggie Smalls. If he didn't make it. Then died and came back to life." Tucker said to Sam as they both just agreed on the side.

"Hey! I can hear you!" With that distraction Danny took his opportunity to hit the ghost in the face, connecting right in the jaw, sending him flying across the park into a tree, knocking a cat into its owner's hands before she ran off. What Danny had seen was the same girl who had helped last time. "What is up with that girl and her damn cat."

As Danny flew back towards his friends he saw them charging up their weapons, Sam currently held a whip which was 4 feet and then would extend to 8 after clicking a button on the handle while going 16 feet if she held the button in for an extended amount of time. It had the power to both hurt ghosts and also stop intangibility when wrapped around them. Tucker had recently created and tested it on Danny which had a negative memory attached to it, well that's what they all told Danny. He never bought it for one second though as Tucker kept yelling "This is for…" while testing it out.

Tucker on the other hand-held two guns that could be joined together in different types of ways to create other objects. Such as joining the two bottom parts together would create a semi jetpack since the guns would shoot energy beams downwards to create an easier landing for the user. He would only use it when Danny needed to let him go mid-air. As bizarre as that sounded, it had happened on multiple occasions already. His aim had improved after he asked Val to train him before she had moved away from Amity Park a while back. He still was working on improving the gun's recoil while keeping it at a high damage rate.

"You ready to teach this early 2000's rap wannabe a lesson?" Danny was satisfied when he received a nod he turned around to see the ghost back on his feet as speakers surrounded him.

"Guys, don't you think Ember will be mad that another ghost is using her power in a way?" But before the teens could continue their conversation Danny was interrupted by the ghost's loudspeaker.

"I am about to bring a big disaster. Everybody calls me Al but after I win you can call me master!" When Al finished his line a big shockwave left the speakers, sending out a wave of destruction which finally caught everybody's attention as they had just been ignoring what was happening before that. The attack towards Danny himself was not too strong as he had already gone up against Ember on multiple occasions however, both Tucker and Sam were grabbing onto whatever they could get a hold of until Sam threw her whip around a tree to keep herself in place and held onto Tucker's hand.

"His waves aren't as strong as Ember's but they do last longer. Other than that, he seems to be the exact same as her."

"Speak for yourself. Tucker and I could hardly stand in one spot!"

"Maybe being sick made you a little rusty, you should sit down and let the young people fight." Focusing back on Al Danny laughed at his two friends who just huffed and walked near him.

"His fast, or at least faster than he looks. It will probably be best to make it a hand-to-hand fight rather than a long-ranged battle. His power is in that mic, get it away from him and we're all good." Tucker finished off his analysis of the ghost with the little information he had.

"So here's the plan. I am going to take a punch; then Tucker you shoot from behind me as soon as I am out of the way. All of this will be a distraction for you, Sam, I need you to wrap your whip around him so that he can't move his arms, that way we can easily send him back into the ghost zone."

Just like Danny stated everything had gone the way he wanted it to. He got close and made it a hand-to-hand fight for a couple of seconds and he was surprised when he felt blood. But he instantly understood that it was the knuckle busters attached to the gloves he was wearing and not the actual strength of the ghost.

"Hey I seem to have gotten some blood all over your hand, let me do the same to my hand," Danny said as he wildly swung, easily missing Al as he dodged it to once again receive a punch to the face drawing more blood.

As he went flying Tucker took the opportunity to take his shot, he hit the ghost in the stomach and then in the chest as he momentarily stumbled backwards allowing Sam to wrap her rope around him, trapping him with no way out.

"That was easy, either we're getting strong or these ghosts are getting very weak cause that was easier than fighting my damn flu."

"Yeah, his punch made me bleed cause of those knuckle busters under it." Danny had made his way back in front of the ghost with Tucker behind him, ready to seal him in the thermos. "Any last words before you go back home?" Danny asked as he learned over the trapped ghost.

"Don't you go thinking you're all cool? Call me your dad cause I'm about to beat you, old school. Then I make your girl super wet like she came out of a pool. You get that, fool?" As the ghost finished his sentence his gold chain became longer as it wrapped itself around Danny and left his neck.

"The more you struggle, the worse tighter it will be. If anybody else moves he'll die… You want to see?"

Tucker had a blank face though as he just looked at the ghost. 'He does realize that I have the Thermos open right?' So instead of panicking Tucker just shifted his finger towards the button and clicked it, sucking Al and deactivating his power causing the chain to fall to the ground and then become smaller and smaller.

Danny had just picked the chain up and threw it in with him to. "Thanks, Tucker. I appreciate it."

Tucker just smiled as he looked up with pride. "What can I say? I'm amazing at what I do."

"I am worried though. Things are really strange. The ghosts who are coming to Amity aren't as strong as they used to be. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining but I feel like something is happening and I can't do anything about it to find out what's happening there."

"That's a problem we can discuss another time. Right now though, we should get out of here before anybody sees us with all these weapons." Tucker said as Danny grabbed onto both of their tops and headed towards the sky.

"You guys want to chill, watch and movie and then order pizza?" Danny asked as he heard them agree to his statement and then slowly start to fight over what pizza they would order. Sam saying that she eats any pizza made by a non-vegan restaurant while Tucker would only eat a pizza with meat on it.

'If I can wish for one thing, it's that we never change. No matter what. I don't want to deal with another loss like Mom and Dad.'

Dash was currently standing in the Fenton lounge as he watched the siblings go back and forth about him coming along with them to Dash's football match. She wanted to sit with somebody while Dash was on the field but her friends were either busy or had other plans since they dated the basketball players who had an off-season tournament at another school. So that's why she was currently trying to convince him that he should go and sit through the game with her.

"Jazz, I'm not going."

"Dash help me convince him please." She had called reinforcement after the stubbornness of her brother wouldn't give in.

"Danny, think about it. You get to see Paulina in her cheerleading outfit." Dash said, going for a low blow.

"Shut up. I can see her in it whenever I want to," It had not come out the way he wanted it to. "Wait, oh shit. I meant it like she's posted it on IG not in a she gets dressed for me way. I'm making this worse."

Just like that Danny had put himself in a bad position as the two in front of him were looking at him with an amused smile. "You know what she has posted on IG?" Dash asked, "Sounds like my little brother has a stalking issue." Jazz chipped in.

"No not like that. More in a, I wanted to see something so I was scrolling through her profile." That had not made it better in any type of way, "I'll go with if the two of you promise to never speak about this again."

"Deal." They said in unison. "Also wear something nice. I don't want to look bad because of you." Jazz laughed as she heard him swear at her before he went upstairs to change. Coming back down in nice jeans with an oversized t-shirt and a bomber jacket.

When they walked to the stands, Danny had made eye contact with Paulina who was very surprised by his presence. Not expecting him to be interested in sports.

"Jazz and I convinced him to show up. You better not mess up." That was all she heard from her friend as he made his way to the field. Never actually getting a reason but just tossing it aside.

The match had gone well up until the last five minutes. A dirty play was run by Jackson Ville High, causing Dash to get shoulder charged in the back while other players covered up the referee's vision. It was a very smart play, but just because it was smart did not mean it was not foul play.

Dash had gone off after failing a concussion test and the quarterback that had not stepped on the field the whole season held the game in his hands.

Danny wanted to get involved for a second before he threw the thoughts away. At the end of the day, it was just a football game and he had no reason to step in other than being on good terms with Dash, they wouldn't even learn a lesson since everything would just be left up to coincidence.

"I'm going to check up on Dash. You want to come with?" Jazz asked as she stood up, ready to move towards the locker room area.

"Nah, I think I'm fine. Go save Mr. Crippled." Danny said as he slightly laughed when his sister looked back at him to glare, she'd laugh at that later once she had peace of mind about Dash's health.

As she made her way down the stands she passed Paulina who quickly spoke to her before looking back at the now alone half-ghost. She had wanted to make her way to him but her duties of re-motivating the football team took priority over her enjoyment of Danny's company. This however allowed something that she had not expected to see, a girl from Jackson Ville had sat right next to Danny without any type of hesitation. Star had not helped to calm her mind after she noticed where Paulina's eyes were lingering.

"You see that right?"

"Yes. And?"

"Nothing, BUT if I had to say something. I would say that there was currently a very cute girl talking to your man. I mean look at her touching his arm and smiling. It is so obvious that she wants him."

"She isn't even that cute, a 7 on a good, and today isn't one of those days."

"Oh, you not denying that he is your man?"

"Star I am going to kill you if you continue."

"Hostile. Look at you all jealous."

"Just give me a second," Paulina said as she walked away from her friend to her sister. "Hey, Lola you want sweets?" The small girl had nodded in excitement; her sweet tooth was unmatched. "You see that boy there?" She pointed to Danny. "His name is Danny. Tell him that I said that he must take you to the tuck shop. Here you go. Also if you get him to sit here with you then I will give you $20. Sound good." She said giving her sister enough money to buy herself some sweets.

Star just looked at her best friend while shaking her head. 'She won't admit that she is jealous but she's out here doing the most to get rid of possible competition.'

Lola had made her way up to Danny, excited about her new mission since she would not only get sweets but money as well. When she finally arrived by Danny she waited for the girl he was talking to, to finish speaking. As much as she wanted her sweets, her manners were something she was big on but as one minute turned into two and two into three, her patients had started to wear out.

"… If I am being real you don't look like the sports type." She finished and before Danny could respond he heard a soft voice speak from behind the girl who now sat in Jazz's seat.

"Danny."

"Yes." He said looking around the girl to see Lola standing there with money in her hand.

"Paulina asked if you could take me to get sweets?" She had put a sweet face on which would have made anybody's ice-filled heart melt at that point.

"Yeah sure." He said as he got up, "Hey sorry. I kind of need to go, it was nice chatting with you." Danny said after looking at Paulina. Not thinking too much about the reason she would do it since she was busy cheerleading. He however had not seen the smirk that formed on Paulina's face when the girl had awkwardly moved back to her seat.

"I hope you realize that you're not a good person."

"Star, shut up. I'll do some good deeds later."

Her best friend had just laughed at her logic. She did not see what the problem was with what she had just done. 'I guess she has never been in a position like this before so it's her first time experiencing it. Dudes usually make their feelings known by this time, maybe Danny is different if he has her pulling off side moves to keep him from being flirted with'

"Okay, last thing. Just don't take too long to make your move. I mean who knows who flirts with him when you're not around and since he is still single and you haven't said how you feel he isn't the bad guy in this situation. He can accept a date from anybody he wants to." Star finished as she walked back towards the cheer squad, allowing Paulina to think about everything that she had just said.

The rest of the game had gone well for Casper High; the football team's defense had held up well after Dash returned to the side-line while leaning on Jazz for support. His motivational speech between quarters seemed to keep them going. Which explained why the coach had put so much trust in him.

Danny had been with Lola most of the time entertaining her while listening to story's she would tell; from how boys are ewww but he gets a pass because he is cool too how Paulina had fallen and tripped into a cake at one of their cousin's birthday parties. In other words, both people involved were currently happy about what had gone down, Lola on the fact that she got free candy and the chance to speak about whatever she wanted to. Danny was happy at seeing the young girl's enthusiasm while getting dirt on Paulina, she would hate him for it and he couldn't wait for that moment.

"Paulina! Some of the boys want to go out to celebrate, you want to come with?"

"Can't. Remember my parents aren't here so I have to take the demons spawn home to sleep. She's already half asleep."

"Okay, drive safe. Oh, look who's making their way over there to Mr. Lover boy. I'll give you some space."

Paulina had turned around to see Danny piggybacking her younger sister as she slept on his shoulder, the sugar rush had come and gone and now she was out cold as Danny carried her but as she saw the girl from earlier make her way towards Danny the speech that Star replayed in her head. 'Sorry girl, but this one is taken.'

Paulina had seen that she was much closer to Danny than her current opponent. Which gave her a confidence boost about stopping whatever could happen if she didn't intervene once again. "Danny!" She shouted making her presence known to the other girl, slightly smiling when she stopped in her tracks to probably just watch how they would communicate, trying to figure out if they were just friends or more than that.

"Thanks for watching her today I appreciate it," Paulina said taking in the moment in front of her, she hadn't met a guy outside of her friend group who would take care of her sister without expecting something from her.

"No problem at all. Anytime you need somebody to watch her while you cheer, I am available." Even though he gave her a response she loved she saw the smile he wore, one that would send a chill down anybody's spine.

"Why are you so happy about it. What did she say?"

"Can't I just enjoy her cuteness and her company? Why do you think that I have alternate motives?"

"Because you are a sly fox!" In the corner of her eye she saw that the girl was still looking at them, 'Damn, can't you take a hint? How long does she even have? Won't her busses leave her or something?'

Paulina took a step forward as she leaned into Danny not wrapping her arms around him but instead just resting her chin on his chest as she looked up towards him.

"I'm cold." She simply stated as the adrenaline was starting to leave her body.

"I would give you my jacket but I can't do that without disturbing your sister. Go change and I will wait out here for you."

Paulina had looked to her side as she saw the girl doing an awkward move by pulling her phone out, then answering it. 'I've been in that position girl. You ain't fooling nobody, there isn't anybody on the other side of that phone.'

"I will do that but just give me a second or two."

To both of their surprise, the next person to speak wasn't either one of the two, instead, it was Star who had brought Paulina's bag for her, "I waited for you in the locker room and after a while, I thought I would just take this for you."

Paulina had taken her bag as she hugged her best friend goodbye, "Thanks I appreciate it. Stay safe." Paulina said as she tried to move away from her friend but could not when she felt Star tighten her hold on her. "You're going to have to make the first move. So tell him before it's too late, some of the girls saw how good he looked and how he was around Lola today, you and I both know that's very attractive. Both Carly and Vicky were talking about making moves, watch out because your man might not be yours if you don't speak with him." Star whispered before letting her friend go.

"Mmm, got it. Now go, you're holding everybody up."

"Fashionably late. You know how it is." Star said, hitting an exaggerated pose before finally leaving.

As they watched Star disappear in the distance Danny caught her attention by taking her bag out of her hands, "Where did you park?" He asked as he made his way towards the parking lot. "I didn't bring my car. Lola and I caught a lift with one of the girls. I was just going to walk home with her."

"It's a night game and you were going to walk home… Dumbass. Come, I will walk you home." Danny said as he shook his head and headed out of the school.

"Hey wait up. And I'm not a dumbass!" She shouted behind him, not offended by his words as she had come to realize that it was his way of showing that he cared.

The walk was a very comfortable silence with quick chats about anything that could come to mind and when they arrived at the door neither one seemed ready to leave the others company.

"Can you put Lola in her bed? I don't want to wake her up by moving her to much." Paulina asked, an excuse to have him stay by her longer.

"Yeah, no problem."

When he entered the house Danny swore the air inside the house smelled different. His mind shut down at how big the house was. The staircase never seemed to end, 'It probably leads to heaven.' He looked to his left and saw what looked like the lounge as the couches were in his sight of view, to his right he saw a hallway that leads to what looked like a game room as he made out the edge of a pool table.

"Let me show you her room," Paulina said as she knocked Danny out of his daydream. Going up the stairs he looked down at his feet in order to not stare at her ass, as much as he wanted to look, he still had enough respect to not look. 'These steps look so cool, yeah very cool.' He thought as he distracted himself.

"Here's her room." Danny heard as he walked past her and maneuvered her body in a way where she would not wake up. Paulina having to come to his aid as he struggled to pry her arms off his neck. Finally achieving that task, they tip-toed out of her room, not wanting to wake the sleeping girl.

"What's the time?" Paulina asked as she headed downstairs.

"20:13."

"Do you need to go home or can you chill for a little?"

"I can chill. I am hungry though so can I order Uber Eats?"

"Nah I will make something. I'm hungry as well, so I'll make something and then we can watch a movie. There's this horror that I've been wanting to watch, but I don't want to watch it alone because I'll get too scared."

Danny had stopped to process everything at that point. He tried to find the logic in her statement but he couldn't and she must have figured it out as he heard he say, "It's a thing okay."

They proceeded to the kitchen to make themselves food as Paulina returned the favor for Danny by making him something to eat before they headed back upstairs. The meal she had made was not what she expected to make though, as she walked to her room with a bunch of unopened snacks carried in a big bowl to make it easier while Danny carried a bowl filled with cereal.

"I can't believe you wanted cereal over anything else." She joked.

"Hey, I said you can have whatever you want as long as I get some porridge. I know you wanted to copy me but you were just too scared to do it." He retaliated.

"Fine, just hurry up old man. Before you have to go home and then I can't watch my movie."

"Am I just a piece of meat to you?"

"Of course, now eat your meal then come here." She said as she scrolled through Netflix, looking for the movie she wanted. Surprised when she had seen him finish his bowl already.

"What?" Danny innocently asked as he finished his meal.

"How? You know what, don't answer it."

"Don't judge me, Mrs. Three Burgers in 10 minutes."

"You bitch! Did she tell you about that!"

"About the time when you finished three burgers in 10 minutes, came out with more sauce on your pants, then threw up on a couple who proposed next to you?" Danny saw her face pull a shocked look, she was going to kill somebody. "Nope rings no bell." He laughed as she jumped on him and hit repeatedly hit him. Not hurting him but he still protected himself as he laughed at her.

"I hate you! You're never looking after her ever again."

"Is that how I get thanked for my hard work?" He said with a joking smile on his face.

"Lay there and watch the movie," Paulina pointed to the opposite side of the bed. "So I have to lay on that small part of the bed, even though you're the one who is afraid of the horror?" Paulina's face whitened for a second, she had just spoken while being caught up in the moment. Not processing the fact that she was more afraid of the movie than her. She however would not give in, her stubborn side showing.

"Yeah, what do you think I want to cuddle with you or something?" She said as she climbed under her blankets to realize that she was still in her cheerleading outfit. "Danny, can you stand outside quickly? I just want to change."

"Danny do this. Danny do that. It's never Danny… I don't know, something nice." He said as he overreacted to everything Paulina was doing as she rolled her eyes at him. "And people think I'm dramatic."

Paulina took 10 minutes to change as she grabbed some comfortable pants and a hoodie before she changed her mind and changed into silky booty shorts and a crop top, climbing under the blankets before telling Danny he could come back inside.

They watched the movie for a bit as the snacks laid next to them, Danny laying on top of the blankets while she laid underneath it. He would feel the bed vibrate at every jump scare with a small scream. 'She's like a small kid.'

She had moved closer to him when he started to hog the popcorn, deciding to stay by his side when she moved lower to lay her head on his chest. A little uncomfortable by the fact that he was not under the blankets with her.

"I'm uncomfortable. Lay under the blanket with me." She instructed, he had just listened. Not in the mood to give one of his jokey replies. As soon as he got in a comfortable position she quickly popped out of bed and gave Danny what was both heaven and hell. Her silky shorts was tightly wrapped against her ass, 'One wrong move and it might break.' He thought as he watched her walk to the bathroom with a bit more swing to her hips than she usually would walk with.

He was brought out of his thoughts as he started to feel himself get hard, trying his best to stop it. 'Think happy thoughts. Yeah, what makes you happy Danny? Paulina's ass. No! No! Except that. Fuck!' Danny was happy that she didn't return immediately. As he had an internal battle with himself to calm himself down. 'There we go. Cool, nothing happened.'

Then the little demon; as Danny now called her, returned as if she had not sent him on a big mental battle.

As she laid her head back onto his chest she took the opportunity to move her leg over his, putting him in a very uncomfortable. Forcing him to move his arm underneath her head, 'And that's how you do it.' Paulina thought as she mentally high-fived herself before she felt him slightly move away from her. The more she leaned into him, the more he shifted back. Unaware of the mental battle he was having once again as the images of her outfit filled his mind.

"Why are you moving so much?"

"Hold up. Move upwards." He said as he shifted himself between her legs and rested his head just underneath her boobs. 'Okay now even if I get horny she won't be able to feel it because I was on the verge of getting hard again.' She smiled at the position, happy that he was not trying to move away from her. As they got back into the movie both of them realized that they had missed parts of the movie.

"You to rewind it? Cause I don't know what's going on. At all."

"Yeah, go back like ten to fifteen minutes back."

"Are you sure? Don't want you getting scared all over again." Danny felt a hand slightly hit his forehead, "Ouch. Hey, don't make me fight back." But before she could respond her phone buzzed. Checking it she saw a couple of attachments sent by Star. When she opened them she saw it was the picture of her sister resting sleeping on Danny as they spoke, as she scrolled through it she found her favorite one. Her chin resting on his chest as her sister slept on his shoulder while they starred at each other, his goofy contagious smile made her smile in real life.

She had sent a text quickly thanking her bestie while also complementing her photography skills. Looking at the picture one last time she smiled at it before running her hand through Danny's hair. 'If only you knew what effect you have on me. Why can't you just make a move? Should I make a move? I mean dudes have made moves on me and I knew them for way less time than I know him and our connection isn't as strong."

"You want popcorn?" Danny asked looking up at her, unaware of her current mental war going on; both of them affecting the other in many ways tonight.

He had not expected to see her staring at him instead of her phone or the movie. Quickly breaking eye contact as he turned his head back towards the movie, bringing the blanket up to cover the side of his face. Obstructing her view of him, which she did not appreciate.

"Fuck it." Was all Danny heard before the blanket was pulled away from his head as she grabbed his face and kissed him? 'If he pulls away I'll deal with it.'

He had not pulled away but had not kissed either. Momentarily surprised by the events that were currently happening. When he felt Paulina pull away, ever so slightly reality kicked in and he leaned up towards her. Resting his body on an elevated elbow as his other hand snaked around her head keeping it there.

They slowly kissed before Danny looked at her for a second before speaking, "There's no going back if we continue this."

"Good." That was all she said before moving from pecks to French. Danny had twisted his body and moved above her. His body towering over her as his hand rested on the headboard behind her while the other gripped her hair. Paulina's hands had grabbed onto his shirt as if she was attempting to bring him closer than he already was.

Pulling away from each other they had stayed in their position for a couple more seconds, doing nothing else but stare into one another's eyes and listen to the other breathe. As a smile crept to Danny's face, Paulina couldn't stop herself from smiling either.

"Do you have the sample?" Ghost King asked as he sat on top of his throne, looking down upon the ghosts below him.

"Of course your majesty. I have already dropped it off at the lab for the scientists to begin their work." A big figure said on one knee as the sound of his chain hitting the ground echoed in the room.

"Good, your reward will be given to you now." Ghost King said signaling for one of his servants to come forth. It held the shape of a flask with a metal chain attached to it, "An ancient artifact that can torture ghosts for long periods of time and then converts their misery into your own, Orcbane. It now belongs to you."

"Once again thank you, your majesty." He said as he watched Ghost King bring the item towards him.

Reaching out for the item he was really surprised when Ghost King's hand wrapped around his throat. "You did not expect me to allow you to live right? Why would I let a random Ghost run around and expose what happened today? You naive brat!" Ghost King said as he watched the occupant of his right hand pass out before beheading him. "Somebody clean this up. I have work to do." He finished, leaving the throne room with a sinister smile on his face.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I now pronounce chapter 3 finished. It took longer than I thought and now my University has started. So I don't know how often I can update. I do feel like I left gaps but I say that every chapter just knows that it will be fixed. Hopefully sooner than later.

There should be better action from here on out. I am going to start adding the real story from here on out. Welcome to the true Nonchalant Protector.

Enjoy your day.
