A visit to the sanitarium
A few days have passed and today is October 29th, two days till Halloween. At the Gravesfield's sanitarium, Camila drove the car to the parking lot with Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter and Vee inside. As Camila parks her car to a space, Amity covers her ears with her hair, Willow covers her ears with a bandana, Gus and Hunter wear some beanie hats to cover their ears and Vee is in her human disguise. It cuts inside the lobby where Camila and the others walk in. Amity and the others looked around the lobby, with only seven people sitting on a few chairs and TV's on the walls. Camila walked to the booth while Amity and the others sat down. "So, Luz is in this hospital?" asked Gus. Vee turns her head to Gus and she answers his question. "Actually, this is a sanitarium. And yes, Luz is here." answered Vee. "oh." exclaimed Gus. Willow and Hunter looked at Vee. "so, what happened to Luz?" asked Hunter. Vee looked at Hunter. "Well, Luz has been accused of attempted murder at school. I was with Camila at court after Luz got arrested. She tried to prove to herself that she didn't cause the murders, it was someone else. But...they didn't believe her, and they sentenced her to stay here." said Vee. Willow, Gus, Hunter kept looking at Vee with shocked faces. "Oh my titan." said Willow with shock. Hunter started to feel bad for Luz with his lower lip pucker to his mouth. "Yeah. But the back of the court was horrible." said Hunter. Willow and Gus look at Hunter. "What is it?" asked Gus. Hunter sighs. "After they accused her, Luz just bit the lawyer's finger and ripped it off," said Hunter. Willow and Gus have shocked expressions on their faces. "She did that?.." asked Gus with shock. "Yeah. It's like after what happened to you guys earlier, something changed inside Luz." replied Vee. Willow and Gus became worried.
Amity is looking down, with her hands holding together and her left foot tapping on the floor. She is actually pretty anxious and worried about Luz, being held captive from a crime that she didn't even commit. it caught Willow's attention, as she places her hand on Amity's shoulder, trying to comfort her. Amity turns her head and looks at Willow with a worried look. Willow smiles a little at Amity until someone enters the lobby. A teenage therapist wearing a black coat, some brown pants, and has a bit of long brown hair named Dr. Eric Shatner, walked into the lobby. Dr. Shatner notices Camila in front of the booth, and walks towards her. "Mrs. Noceda." said Dr. Shatner. Camila turns her head and sees Dr. Shatner. Camila walked to Dr. Shatner and they shook their hands. "How are you today?" asked Dr. Shatner. "I'm good." replied Camila. Amity and the others looked at Dr. Shatner, as they got off the chairs and walked to Camila and Dr. Shatner. "Ummm, are you Luz's therapist?" asked Amity. Dr. Shatner turns his head and sees Amity. "Of course I am." replied Dr. Shatner.
Meanwhile, Dr. Shatner, Camila, Amity and the others are walking down the hall while some patients are escorted by guards. "So how is Luz? Is she eating well? Is she sleeping well?" asked Amity, still worried. Dr Shatner sighed a little. "Well, Luz and I had a few discussions about her recent situation. Like her guilt, her thoughts, her insecurities, her misunderstandings, how she thinks about herself. I believe that Luz Noceda is suffering with a serious mental illness called self hate." said Dr. Shatner. Amity and the others get a bit worried. "Ummm, is it bad?" asked Willow. "Yes, it looks bad to you, but for Luz, it's like a deadly weapon against herself." replied Dr. Shatner. They keep walking down the hall as Vee sees a patient in the room, licking the window's door. Vee gets disgusted and quickly walks away.
"So, is her day-to-day routine going well here?" asked Camila. "Why yes. She ate, slept, took her medications, and we even talked. Everything seemed to be going well for Luz until..." Dr. Shatner paused and stopped walking. Camila and the others stopped walking and looked at Dr. Shatner, with confused faces. "Until what?" asked Gus. Dr. Shatner turned his head to them. "She stopped." said Dr. Shatner. "What? What do you mean she stopped?" asked Amity. "What I mean is, she stopped doing everything. She didn't take her meds, she didn't eat, she didn't sleep. She's been silent for almost four weeks, and would rather stay in her room than go outside, socialize with the other inmates or even talk to me. This has to be a very serious case." replied Dr. Shatner. For what Dr. Shatner said, Amity gets even more worried as she clasps her hand tightly together and her lower lip puckered. "Almost four weeks?" asked Camila with shock. "But didn't she tell you about what she does when she's upset? When Luz is upset, she would draw or make stories to calm herself down." said Willow. "Luz told me that after she got here. I accepted her to draw, I brought her colored pencils and paper for her. And for whatever reason, I saw her drawings and...you know what? Let's not waste any time, follow me." said Dr. Shatner as he continued walking. Camila and the others got silent and followed him.
Meanwhile, outside of the sanitarium, Dr. Shatner and the others walked outside where the patients were. The patients are separated and chained up, preventing them from killing each other. Amity and the others looked around for a bit, seeing the crazed patients. "What's going on over here?" asked Willow. "Why, this is where we give our patients fresh air." replied Dr. Shatner. Willow, Gus and Vee see that the patients are standing inside some yellow squares. "And why are they standing on some squares?" asked Gus. "They are separated. We can't let them hurt each other." replied Dr. Shatner. "Oh, dang." said Gus. Vee spotted a guard holding a guard dog leashed. The guard dog was looking at Vee, so she responded to it with a wave. The Dog is sitting and panting. Dr. Shatner kept walking and stopped because he saw someone. "And there she is," said Dr. Shatner. Camila, Amity and the other sees someone and it's Luz Noceda. Luz is sitting on the square with her hands chained up, wearing white clothes, not moving an inch, looking down and her hair is losing its curl. Amity's face turns red like a tomato and smiles when she sees Luz. "so, all she does now is nothing?" asked Vee. "Exactly." replied Dr. Shatner. Camila looks at Luz with a worried look on her face. "Ayyy, pobrecita." said Camila in spanish. She turns her head to Dr. Shatner. "Is it ok if we get close to her?" asked Camila. Dr. Shatner looks at Camila. "Of course, just don't cross the line under any circumstances." said Dr. Shatner. Dr. Shatner, and the others started walking towards Luz. "Luz Noceda? You got company." said Dr. Shatner. Amity and the others walk closer to her. "Hey Luz, long time no see!" greeted Gus. "Hi Luz." greeted Willow. "Hey Luz." greeted Hunter. "Hey Luz." greeted Vee. "Hola, batata." greeted Amity in spanish. "Hola, mija." greeted Camila in spanish. Luz didn't say anything, she just kept looking down.
Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter and Vee looked at Luz. Camila also looked at Luz, but with a worried look on her face. "So, ummmmm, how's everything?" asked Willow. "It's been so long since we've seen you. Are you feeling a bit better?" asked Gus. Luz looks behind herself for a little bit, only to see her friends and her mother, standing right behind her. Amity and the others are smiling at Luz, but Luz turns her head around. They got worried. Amity walked to Luz. "Hey, Luz? Dr. Shatner told us about what happened." said Amity. Luz remained silent while looking at the ground, but she was listening to Amity. "He said that you stopped taking medications, didn't sleep and you haven't eaten, is that what it is? Please, we just want what is best for you, getting help from a professional teenager therapist. I know everything is going downhill for Luz, but everything will be fine. Just like what I said, we can fix this together." said Amity. Camila and Dr. Shatner turned their heads to look at each other for a second and then looked at Amity. Willow and Gus also looked at Amity, even Hunter and Vee. "We can fix this together. Please, I know you want to say it." begged Amity. But sadly, Luz just grew tired of hearing that sentence, as she kept looking down in silence.
Amity became worried and heartbroken at the same time, as he held her right hand against her chest and gained a sad expression on her face. Hunter stood up and walked towards Luz, only to stop at a line. Hunter inhaled a little. "Um, Luz. I found something laying on your desk." said Hunter. Hunter reached his hand to his left pocket, and he pulled out something. He pulled out a piece of paper folded. Hunter started unfolding the paper, only to reveal the drawing of Michael Myers that Luz drew earlier. Luz turned her head a little to the drawing she made. "Did you draw this?" asked Hunter. The other patients see the drawing that Luz made. "Can you tell me who this is?" asked Hunter again. The patient with short hair starts breathing heavily, the other patient with glasses on starts to chuckle maniacally, and the guard dog starts whining. "Luz, can you tell me who this is?" asked Hunter and Luz turned her head away. Willow and Gus see that the other patients are going wild, some screaming and making noises and others jumping around and laughing maniacally. The guard dog started barking viciously. Camila looked at Dr. Shatner. "Just give him some time, Mrs. Noceda," said Dr. Shatner. Camila sighs softly and looks at Hunter. "Say something, Luz." said Hunter. Luz still remained silent. "Please say something." begged Hunter. The other patients started growing more wild as they tried to break themselves free and screaming at each other, which made the alarm start blaring. Amity and the others felt uneasy when the patients were trying to kill each other, the loud alarm blaring, and yet, Luz didn't do nor say anything. As the alarm grows louder, Hunter yells at Luz. "Say something!!" yelled Luz.
It cuts to Amity walking down the hallway, holding a handmade cat ring to leave it in Luz's room. She looked at the cat ring and smiled a little. Amity walked to a door, room 43. She opens the door and walks into the room. The room only contains one bed, a drawer, a lamp, a table with papers and colored pencils and one window. Amity looked around, and she spotted something on the bed. She sees a handcrafted mask that looks similar to King. Amity picked up the mask and looked at it for a few seconds. "Well, at least you still have your creative side." said Amity as she put down the mask on the bed.
Amity walked to the table and placed the cat ring on it. Just as she was about to leave, she was one of the drawings. She sees that the drawing is of Luz with an angry Amity saying "You've been the real villain this whole time!" Amity was shocked and confused at the same time while looking at the drawing. "What? I would never say that to Luz." said Amity. Then she saw another drawing of Luz being attacked by Willow by controlling the vines, saying "I have no future, none of us do!" And she saw yet another drawing of Luz with Gus angrily yelling at her, saying "Because of you, I will never see my dad again!" Amity's eyes were wide open, as she turned around, she saw a broken mirror on a wall, with blood on it. Amity looked at the broken mirror until Dr. Shatner walked in. Dr. Shatner sees Amity looking at the mirror. "Is everything okay?" asked Dr. Shatner. Amity turned her head only to Dr. Shatner. "Dr. Shatner, what happened to the mirror in my girlfriend's room?" asked Amity. Dr. Shatner looks at the broken mirror and answers Amity's question. "On her second day of staying in the sanitarium, Luz attempted to harm herself by bashing her head in the mirror." replied Dr. Shatner. Amity got really shocked with a break-taking gasp and her covering her mouth. "What?" asked Amity with shock. "I know, it must sound painful for you. One time, I walked to her room door, only to hear Luz angrily yelling and...calling herself a mistake, a nobody, a mess, etcetera. I think that Luz Noceda sees herself as a mistake, cursing out her existence and wanting to hurt herself. That is why she bashed her head in the mirror." said Dr. Shatner.
Amity has a frightened expression on her face, she grabs the drawings and shows them to Dr. Shatner. "And these?! Why would Luz draw these?!" asked Amity, with a worried and panicked tone of her voice. Dr. Shatner sees the drawings. "Those drawings represent her nightmares." said Dr. Shatner. Amity stays silent until Luz appears. Luz walks into her room and it reveals that she has dark gray bags under her eyes, a big bandage on her forehead and her eyes are completely soulless. Amity sees Luz and walks towards her. "Luz, why did you bash your head in the mirror? Do you really want to hurt herself this badly?" asked Amity. Luz doesn't give Amity a single response, she just looks at her with pure silence. "Oh for fuck's sake, say something!!" yelled Amity with tears pouring from her eyes. Dr. Shatner walked to Amity and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Mrs. Blight, I know you're scared and worried, but it will take a lot of process to help your girlfriend. Now, I think you should be going." said Dr. Shatner. Amity looks down in sadness.
It fades to Amity and the others getting in Camila's car. Amity was the last one to get in the car and she closed the door. She looked through the window, only to see Luz in the sanitarium looking at her. Amity places her hand on the window, with tears streaming down her face. Camila starts the car and starts driving away. Amity looks behind her and keeps looking at Luz while the car leaves the sanitarium, the scene fades to black.
Amity and Willow talk
Tonight, at the Noceda residence. Camila, Willow, Gus, Hunter and Vee are eating tamales for dinner in the dining room. Willow, Hunter and Vee are enjoying eating their tamales, but for Gus, he enjoys them more. "Oh man, this is pretty good!" said Gus. Camila looked at Gus and smiled. "Thank you." said Camila. Willow kept eating her tamale. "Yeah, it's good. I think I remember that Luz taught me and Gus about human realms foods. They looked tasty." said Willow. "Oh, well that's nice." said Camila. "At first I thought a CD disk looks like a shiny cookie, but it isn't a cookie." chuckled Gus. Camila looks at Gus with her two fingers on her lips. "To be honest, I never heard of discs until we came into the human realm," said Hunter. Hunter pulls out a loaf of bread, rips it in half and gives a piece to Flapjack. Flapjack chirped happily and he started eating the piece of bread, Hunter smiled at him. As Willow is still eating her tamale, until she realizes something. She looked at the chair where Amity sat, claiming that she didn't come for dinner. "Uhhh, where's Amity?" asked Willow. Camila turns her head to Willow. "I think Amity is still in Luz's room. She looked very sad." replied Camila. "Oh." exclaimed Willow. They kept eating their tamales until Vee got off the table. "I should bring Amity her dinner," said Vee. as Vee tried to pick Amity's dinner up, Willow stopped her. "Maybe I should do it." said Willow. Vee looked at Amity. "Why?" asked Vee. "Amity and I have been friends since childhood. And I was always there for her, even in very difficult times. So, let me bring her tamales and we'll figure something out." said Willow. "Oh, well ok then." said Vee. Willow picked up the plate of tamales for Amity, she got up and walked out of the dining room. Camila looked at Gus and realized something. "Did you take a bite of a disc from the living room, Gus?" asked Camila. Gus looked at Camila then he lowered down his head and inhaled sharply, showing that he did take a bite of the disc.
Meanwhile, Willow walked upstairs and she walked to Luz's room. Just as Willow is about to open the door, she takes a peek and sees Amity inside the room. Amity is laying in bed, hugging a pillow and sobbing quietly. Ghost is with Amity, trying to comfort her by snuggling. Willow gets worried, then she opens the door completely and walks in. "Hey Amity." greeted Willow. Amity looks up to Willow, revealing that she saw bloodshot eyes from crying too much. 'Hey..." greeted Amity. Willow walks to Amity, puts the plate next to her and knelt down. "Are you ok?" asked Willow. Amity didn't say anything, she only responded with a shrug.
"Come on, all Luz needs is professional help. I'm sure that she'll recover." said Willow. Amity looked at Willow, she got up and sat on the bed. "I know, but I just get this feeling that Luz would do something bad to herself," said Amity. "Why? Can you tell me what happened?" asked Willow. Ghost is next to Amity, she lay in bed and looks at Amity. "Well, I went to Luz's room to drop by this little cat ring I made of her. Until I entered the room, I knew something was wrong." said Amity. "What did you see?" asked Willow. Amity remained silent for a bit. "You know that Dr. Shatner said that self hate is like a deadly weapon for Luz?" asked Amity. "Yeah?" replied Willow. "Well, I saw a broken mirror that Luz used to bash her head in, and I saw some drawings of me, you and Gus antagonizing her." Willow gasped with shock. Ghost is shocked as well. "Dr. Shatner told me that Luz sees herself as a mistake, that she cursed her own existence and..I don't know what she's going to do next." said Amity with tears coming out of her eyes. Amity sighed sadly and lay on the bed. "I don't know. I don't think she'll recover, she'll never get better, maybe i'll never see her again." said Amity, her voice breaking with grief.
Ghost walks to Amity and she snuggles her. Willow looked at Amity. "Do you really want to give up just because Luz is not feeling well?" asked Willow. Amity looks up to Willow. "I don't know, why?" asked Amity. Willow stood up. "I mean, we've been here for months, didn't find a way to go back to the demon realm, until finally we found the answer to our problems, and that it's the scroll." said Willow, as she points at the scroll on Luz's desk. Amity looked at the scroll and looked back at Willow. "We cannot give up just yet, you know what you said earlier? Together, there is no challenge that can hold us back." said Willow. Amity looks down for a bit. "I guess I did say that," said Amity. "Exactly. Tomorrow, we will find the answers to everything, we will go back to The Boiling Isles and save everyone." said Willow. Amity got up, she wiped the tears from her face and smiled a little. "Maybe you're right." Willow smiled. "For Luz," said Willow. "For Luz," said Amity. Amity hears her stomach growling and she looks down. "I think you should eat now," said Willow as she handed Amity her plate of tamales. "Thanks, Willow." said Amity. "You're welcome," said Willow. Willow walked to the door and she walked out of the room.
Amity put the plate of tamales on a small table and she picked up a fork. She turned her head to the right, to see a little scribble of her hugging Luz in chibi style on a sticky yellow piece of paper, stuck on the wall. Amity smiles a little, she turns away and starts eating her tamales. It fades to minutes later, where Willow and Vee are sleeping and Amity is sitting on Luz's desk, figuring out the symbols on the scroll. She drew the eye, a ribbon, an ear and a hand with a cut on a notepad. She thinks so hard, trying to figure out the symbols. Amity sighed a little and she closed the notebook. Amity gets up from the desk, as she was about to go to bed, she spotted something outside. Amity sees Michael Myers outside, he decorated the Christmas lights in the shape of a light glyph on the ground and stares at her. Amity was confused, as she kept looking at Michael. Until Michael disappeared again, leaving the Christmas light on the floor. Amity got up abruptly and the Christmas lights went off without a trace. Amity became extremely confused. "What the heck was that?" asked Amity.
