Chapter Two: Lightsabers are Red, Heroes use Blue

Part One:

It has been ten years since Anakin Skywalker was inducted into the Jedi Order. It was considered a great honor by all jedi, masters included, to be trained by the Grandmaster himself.

Yoda has sensed the darkness within Anakin. Training him in the typical way of the Jedi would not suffice even though it would be expected. Patience would be the first thing to teach, the basics to meditation, and then his basic education. Though, Yoda had no doubt that Anakin would exell considering the fact that he built a pod racer from scratch if the rumors are to be believed.

Yoda also decided to have someone assist with his training since his duties would make it difficult to schedule time for the young Skywalker's training.

The death of Qui-Gon had sent ripples across the Jedi Order. The return of the Sith sent an even bigger shockwave across the force itself. As if a horn of triumph had sounded despite the Sith's defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Since Obi-Wan and Anakin had already met and become aquainted, the Grandmaster felt that it would be best for Obi-Wan to become Anakin's master as well. Jedi having multiple master is indeed rare.

Obi-Wan agreed to the offer despite only rising to the rank of Jedi Master. Part of the reason was Qui-Gon's final wish for him to watch over Anakin.

How fortunate it was indeed for Anakin to have such mentors and allies. For the universe seem determined to test Skywalker.

In a brutal and unforgiving way.

The first mission was to a hostile jungle world in the Outer Rim called Jadera. While the planet itself had no major cities, nor any signs of industrial or technological progress, it did boast a population of over 100 million lives. scattered across the world in tribes both big and small with their own unique traditions and cultures.

The Jedi were called to investigate rumors of pirate activity with the region. Their investigation led to Jadera, and they found a large encampment along equitorial belt of islands that incircle the planet. Apparently, a secret piratical base had been built on the biggest island in the belt, Crora.

Crora itself was considered sacred ground by the natives. Anakin and Obi-Wan had managed to negotiate the aid of the native tribe of Tol-Kal. The Tol-Kal explained that Crora was were their holy capital of In-La was built. Here, initiates of the shamanistic traditions would be inducted into their order. These initiates were usually children of the tribal nobility and when the pirates arrived the inniates started disappearing one after the other.

The Shamans sent agents to find the nobles and encountered the pirates. They were selling the noble children to the brutal gladiatorial pits on Caladran in the neighboring sector. Apparently, the Jaderan Native were formidable warriors and their brutslity attracted the attention of the pirates in the first place.

Anakin was understandable angry. Being a former slave, he understood what it was like to live in chains and would not want anyone else to suffer like that.

Obi-Wan was barely able to restrain Anakin from doing something stupid. He managed to quell Skywalker's rage by saying that the Tol-Kal would aid in the rescue attempt.

Later that night, the Jedi and Tol-Kal warriors attacked the base. They quickly dispatched the guards and made their way to the cells. Speed and surprise were the advantaged. If they loose that, then it will be a slaughter. The pirates had blasters while the Jedi and Tol-Kal had lightsabers and primitive spears and wooden shields. Not exactly an even fight.

Thankfully, sercurity was laxative and the guards were knocked unconscious. With the slaves liberated it was only a matter of time before the pirates found out.

The pirates revenge was swift as it was fierce. Tribe after tribe was assaulted until the Tol-Kal were next. Despite the aid of the jedi, their were simply too many. Their numbers overwhelmed the tribe and the Jedi. Obi-wan knocked out during the fighting and Anakin was abducted. Anakin had yet to obtain his lightsaber and was stuck with only his practice sword.

"MASTER!" Anakin shouted as the net entrapped around his body. The metal wire cutting into his skin like a razor sharp blade.

"ANAKIN! Hold on, I'm coming." Obi-Wan charged foward, his azure blade glowing brightly as if reflecting his determination to save his padawan. The pirates blaster fire were deflected like their were nothing more than petty annoyances.

Anakin tried to resist as the pirates placed on the speeder, but it only made the net cut into him more.

"LET ME GO!" he shouted. "OBI-WAN!"

Obi-Wan thrusted his hand out, using the force to push the pirates out of his way. Like a mighty sea serpent breaking through the waves Obi-Wan made a path towards Anakin, pushing anyone in his path aside with the Force.

"ANAKIN!" Obi-Wan reached out with his hand. Fingers barely a foot away from the boy.

Bit it was too late.

The speader roared to life and sped off to the distance. Most likely, heading for the shuttle that will lead to their vessel in orbit.

Obi-Wan gave chase but it was futile. No steed could catch up with them. The Jedi cursed to sky.

"I WILL FIND YOU ANAKIN!" Obi-Wan swore. Hoping his voice would cross the distance to wherever his padawan was. "I WILL FIND YOU!"
