Chapter 14
"Well Well Well, if it isn't my favorite group of kids. Billy boy, jokester boy, lover boy, black boy, Stan the Jew, Bevy and…pipsqueak." Ale grunted.
"Hey Ale." Georgie greeted.
"Georgie." She smiled.
He ran up to her, jumped into her arms, and hugged. After a few moments, they let go of each other.
"Why didn't you come to the hospital?" Georgie asked.
"Or help us search for Georgie?" Bill murmured
"Oh, I knew you'd be alright, I just had a feeling." Ale smirked.
"Even when I was missing?" Georgie asked.
"Especially when you were missing." Ale answered.
The losers club sneered in disgust. They could see that Ale was putting up a fake act and was lying. Like she cared if Georgie was missing or dead. Ale only cared about herself and was using Georgie for some sort of personal gain. It was one of the main reasons Bill thought Ale took Georgie actually. Ale suddenly noticed the mark on Georgie's neck and her eyes were wide with shock and horror.
"My god Georgie, what happen to your neck?! It looks like somebody choked you. Was it Bowers?" she asked.
"No, i-it wasn't him…Eddie did this to me. Georgie explained.
"Germ boy? He did this to you?" Ale asked surprised.
"Not just him, he did this to me and Greta." Beverly spoke.
She took out a wipe and washed off the makeup on her face. Ale could see the black eye Beverly had received from Pennywise.
"My gosh. I knew germ boy was weak, but I didn't think he could do something like this." She said.
"That's why we're here Ale, we need your help. Eddie's been possessed by a demon and we don't know how to get it out of him." Georgie explained.
"A demon? What kind of demon?" She asked.
"I…I can't describe it, but he's disguised as a clown, but he isn't the type of clown you would see at a circus." Georgie explained.
"Okay Okay…here, draw this." Ale said.
She gave Georgie her notebook and pencil. Georgie flipped over to the next page and started drawing. After a few minutes of drawing, Georgie gave Ale back her notebook. She looked at the notebook and saw what Georgie was talking about. Ale placed the notebook on the table, signed, then looked at Georgie.
"Georgie, were you possessed by this demon?" she asked.
"Yes, that's why I've been missing for the past few weeks." He answered.
"Do you feel different?" Ale asked.
"I…I don't know. Maybe?" Georgie answered confused.
"Yes, he has. Georgie's no longer a-a-afraid of the c-c-cellar." Bill spoke.
"No longer afraid of the cellar? That's the kind of fear any kid can grow out of." Richie retorted.
"Look, wh-wh-when Georgie disappeared, he was sc-scared of the cellar, but when he c-c-came back, he wasn't sc-sc-scared anymore." Bill explained.
"Now that you mentioned it, when I spoke to Eddie, he didn't seem like he was afraid about the blood, the injuries, or how dirty he was. I don't think he even cared." Georgie added.
Ale signed again.
"Georgie, are you worried that Eddie is missing?" She asked.
"No, I have faith we'll find him." He answered.
"You're not scared, horrified…not even terrified?" Ale asked.
"No…why?" Georgie asked.
"Ale what's going on?" Stanley asked alarmed.
She signed and turned around.
"Turn around please." Ale said.
"Why?" Bill asked.
"You all came here looking for me, can't I get a bit of privacy?" Ale snickered.
Bill signed annoyed. He, his friends, and Georgie turned around. For a few minutes, they could hear book pages flipping fast until they stopped.
"You can turn around now." Ale spoke.
The group turned around and saw the book open and at a page.
"Just as I thought, you guys are dealing with a fear demon." Ale signed.
"A fear demon? Wh-Wh-What's that?" Bill asked.
"A fear demon is a demon that hunts for fear. They'll get it by possessing their victims, but some fear demons though, eat their victims." Ale explained.
"Good to know." Bill said scared.
"Their victims consist of children, usually at the age of 5-13 years old, since they have more fear than adults and teens. It would explain why Georgie's not worried, scared, or terrified that Eddie is missing." Ale finished.
"But will he st-st-still feel other e-e-emotions?" Bill asked.
"Yeah, he'll still feel happy, sad, disgust, and anger, just not fear. The only thing he'll still have though, is concern and surprise." Ale explained.
"Can't we just get the fear back?" Beverly asked.
"Oh no, once the demon possesses you, you never get it back." Ale answered.
"So, let me get this straight, Georgie was possessed by a fear demon and it took his fear and you're saying there is no way to get it back?" Richie asked enraged.
"Yep." Ale smiled.
"What about Eddie?" Richie asked.
"It's too late for him. Like I said, once the fear demon possesses you, you can't get your fear back." Ale said.
"Okay so, how do we get this demon out of Eddie then?" Beverly asked.
"Well that's going to be a problem, fear demons are stubborn and they're not going to give up their hosts without a fight. The only way to get it out is to either let it find another victim to possess or offer yourself in the victim's place." Ale explained.
"Can't we just do an exorcism?" Stanley asked.
"Well, it's never been done before, but I wouldn't recommend it." Ale answered uncertain.
The group signed in defeat. What were they going to do? Eddie is possessed by a fear demon and the only way to get it out was to either let it find another victim or offer themselves in his place. There was no way the group would do either of those things, but the risks Ale warned of an exorcism made them realize that they don't have a choice.
"But something's off." Ale spoke.
"What is it?" Mike asked.
"Fear demons go into hibernation after they gather enough fear and sinner's blood to eat. They hibernate for 30 years." Ale begin.
"Okay, why is that off?" Richie asked.
"The last time a fear demon resurfaced here was in 1962, it's been 27 years." Ale continued.
"That is strange." Ben commented.
"There's more. Fear demons pick 8 kids to possess: 4 boys 4 girls. The fear demon starts in a "girl, boy, girl, boy" pattern. But for some reason, it seems like it started with you, Georgie. Do you remember if the demon came to you in a girl's body before you were possessed?" Ale asked.
"No, I met Pennywise the same as I described him in the notebook." Georgie said.
"Pennywise? Is that his name?" Ale asked.
"Yes, that's what he told me." Georgie answered.
"Hmm, fear demons don't usually have names, but then again, this is all strange. Fear demons never break their pattern, under any circumstances." Ale said.
"So, what would m-m-make them break it?" Bill asked.
"Probably personal gain or trying something new?" Ale guessed.
"But this doesn't make sense! What about the flashes I've been seeing?" Georgie asked.
"Flashes? What flashes?" Ale asked.
"While I was possessed, I saw flashes of Eddie in my head. He was smiling and happy and when Eddie snapped out of it, he told me that he saw flashes of Richie." Georgie explained.
"Those mean that Pennywise has chosen his next victim." Ale said.
"What?!" the group said in disbelief.
"The flashes mean that Pennywise has chosen his next victim. You might want to keep an eye on Richie." Ale warned.
"Please tell me you're joking." Stanley said horrified.
"I'm not…Georgie, did you say that Eddie was covered in blood?" Ale asked.
"Yeah, he also has a cast on his arm and an icepack on his head." He answered.
"Strange, fear demons don't usually hurt their victims." Ale said surprised.
"What do you mean?" Ben asked.
"Well, fear demons like to be careful, they don't want to kill or even harm their hosts. It helps them keep a low profile." Ale explained.
"It does ex-ex-explain why Pennywise d-d-didn't hurt Georgie." Bill commented.
"So, Eddie breaking his arm and hitting his head was an accident." Beverly concluded.
"It does seem likely." Ale agreed.
"Will you help us, Ale? We could use your knowledge on this." Georgie insisted.
"Heh why not, I would like to investigate to figure out why this demon is breaking his pattern, but I'll help on one condition." She smirked.
"What's that?" Bill asked.
"You give me a medium sized oreo blizzard from Dairy Queen please." Ale smiled.
"That's i-i-it?! An oreo bl-bl-blizzard?" Bill asked.
"Do you want me to increase my payment?" Ale snickered.
"Okay, oreo blizzard it i-i-is." Bill said defeated.
"Then we got ourselves a deal." Ale smiled.
