Third Person POV
August 9, 1995
Remus leads a small group through the Shrieking Shack and onto the Hogwarts Grounds. Order meetings are being temporarily held at the school until the new school Year starts in a few weeks, then will be held in the Hog's Head.
Entering Hogwarts, the group makes a pit stop.
Slipping back into the Entrance Hall, the four House ghosts stand watch outside the Great Hall. Sir Nick greets his fellow Gryffs while Friar and the Grey Lady float in the background. Baron comes over, speaking quietly to the two Snakes. After hearing their story, Baron glances over to Helena. "Sometimes, love is dark and cruel, unforgiving. I'm glad you two were able to find happiness, even after one of your lives ended. Congratulations."
A long table sits in the middle of the room, surrounded by members of the Order of the Phoenix. Sitting at the Head of the table is Dumbledore, with McGonagall and Mad-Eye on either side of him. Three empty seats are available on each side next to the two. Harry, Remus and Sirius sit on Moody's side of the table, while Persephone and Regulus leave a seat between them and McGonagall, for the missing spy. The Meeting is called to order at seven o'clock.
Dumbledore asks about the Death Eaters who broke out, getting answers on who has been apprehended again, and who remains on the loose. It seems Tom only has his Inner Circle at the moment, all the petty helpers recaptured or killed for 'betraying' their master by not searching for him.
Mad-Eye issues patrol schedules around Hogmeade and the Alley. Protecting the school and it's children are the main priority of the teachers, but it never hurts to have back up close by.
An hour goes by discussing different missions for each member, when Dumbledore mentions sending Remus to speak with the other werewolves. "Actually, Sir," Sef cuts in. "The five of us have a job already, but we'll need more information. Headmaster, what do you know of Tom's horcruxes?"
Dumbledore goes pale as a ghost, while Mad-Eye looks pissed. Questions of what horcruxes are and how we found out about them. "A horcrux is a piece of soul magic," Sirius explains. "It's one of the darkest rituals in wizarding history. A cold blooded murder causes the soul to crack, and those shards can be stored in objects for same keeping. Harry, want to go first?"
Harry nods, pulling a black, leather bound journal from his pocket. Through the center of said book, is a gapping hole. "Tom Riddle's diary possessed a student in 1992. That student released a basilisk from the Chamber of Secrets, intent on following Voldemort's mission of blood purity. The student will not be named, nor were they aware of the situation until it ended. Horcrux one, destroyed June 1993 with a basilisk fang." The four Weasleys present gasp at the realization of how severe the possession truly was.
Persephone removes her ring. "The Gaunt family ring. When I went to claim my Headship, the goblins had to cleanse my ring of a horcrux and other curses. Horcrux two, destroyed in May via Goblin magic."
Regulus pulls out a mangled locket from his pocket. "Slytherin's locket, and the reason I lost my life. I was forced into his servitude, and upon finding out he had a horcrux, I went to destroy it. I obviously failed, but after my resurrection, we found a way. Horcrux three, destroyed an hour and a half ago by basilisk fang. We think he made seven in total."
With each statement, Dumbledore looks worse. He claims he'll look into any others, but the trio who already succeeded will continue looking alone.
Regulus makes a request to return for his Seventh year, to which Dumbledore agrees and McGonagall sends an elf for his school records.
The meeting ends with Dumbledore announcing the Defense teacher this year, Dolores Umbridge. Luckily, Hogwarts charter states no teacher, excluding the Headmaster, may hold a Ministry job while employeed by the school. The moment she signed the paperwork, Umbridge unwittingly lost her Ministry support.
"How'd everything go?" Narcissa asks when the group of five return.
"Everything is in order," Sirius says. "We may have a problem at the school this year. The Ministry forced Dumbledore to hire his Undersecretary for the Defense position." Looking behind him, the three teens have disappeared. "Would you mind helping us pack some Defense tomes? Based on the booklist, she'll only be teaching theory." Narcissa gladly follows him to the library, where all the teens have gathered to help as well.
Remus is standing by the trunk, adding books the kids bring that he deems helpful and vetoing the unneeded. Unfortunately, the students range from third to Seventh year, filling the trunk quickly. The look Remus gives Sef at her contribution makes the room question her. "Dad, can you read it? Pads, Cissa? The Parsel writing will prevent the toad from reading it, as well. Only Harry and I can read these spells, therefore only we will know its true contents and can teach others."
"I may be entering fifth year, but Defense is my best subject," Harry says. "I want to help teach others. I honestly loved teaching everyone the Patronus charm. I think... No, I know, this is what I want in life. I want to teach, and help others reach their full potential. Tom once told me that 'good and evil don't exist, just power and those too weak to seek it'. He's right, power is key, however, Dumbledore is proof that Knowledge is Power. I want to lead others to their greatest magical abilities."
After his heartfelt speech, the adults realize something important, they don't know what future their children want to pursue. As a majority of them are fifth years, they need to know what courses are needed for each job.
Regulus simply says, "I was working on my Potion Mastery. I'm sure, Severus will be willing to pick up where Sluggy left off."
Persephone, of course, has had plans to be a healer since the moment she met Poppy Pomphrey. The older witch is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to healing and patient care. Pansy plans to follow her footsteps, but focus on the mental health side, whereas Sef's focus would be physical health.
Luna wants to be a Magizoologist, researching endangered and extinct creatures, such as the Alfheim Flutterbies and Golden Snigets. Colin wants to join her in the field, documenting and photographing the unknown and long forgotten.
Theo wants to work as an Unspeakable, already having spoke to a recruiter. Croaker had noticed Theo's quick grasp of Arithmancy and Runes and approached the boy at King's Cross when Hogwarts released for the Summer Holiday. Draco wants to take of the Malfoy business, making it something to be proud of. He knows his father will be imprisoned when the war ends, and has already started planning donations for the School, Sanctuary and Ministry, as well as other charities in the Wizarding World.
Dennis sits quietly, thinking things over. Finally, he reaches a conclusion. "I want to be an Auror. I know it's dangerous, but that's why I want to do it. Someone needs to get the bad guys off the street," the thirteen year old says. "If I'm going to be trained to fight, why not use it to protect others?"
Books are added to help everyone's individual goals, including a severely battered sixth year Advanced Potions Making.
"If you plan on training and teaching others, how are you going to keep this from the toad?" Sirius asks.
Harry and Sef look at each other, before turning to Sirius and answering simultaneously, "We'll use the Chamber."
"Basilisk parts will be a great incentive to accept my apprenticeship," Regulus adds, already knowing where they would choose to train.
