Chapter 10 Alike…But Different (The Girl of the Dreams)
A.N. – So, this episode was more conflict driven than anything. Don't if any guy was literally blinded by love that they couldn't see the differences in two girls that looked alike. Let's just say the animators did a good job to convince everybody that she could have been Aelita. Let's begin!
Short Summary – With the arrival of a new student, Aelita and Xana use it to their advantage to try to gain an upper hand on the Lyoko Warriors. But what they don't realize is that this could lead to serious consequences.
Disclaimer – I do not own Code Lyoko or the story idea. I am just a fan of the show, and the idea was submitted by James Marshall.
The attack from space was a nasty trick that Xana played last time. Yumi was in shock for a few days as she was having nightmares for a few days and Aelita had to convince her that she saved everyone with the sacrifice. But after this, Aelita was still mad at him, but she needed to get her head in the game as the weekly attack was about to begin.
"So, anything new this week?" Xana asks.
"Maybe do something that doesn't involve vaporizing someone with a highly lethal laser!" Aelita responded, still annoyed.
"Okay, maybe that one was a little over the top."
"Over the top?! Do you know where we would be right now if you didn't stop?"
"I did it for myself, NOT YOU!"
"Whatever. I'll scout out in the real world and report back."
Aelita exited into the real world to see what would be acceptable for an attack.
When Aelita exited, she saw a girl that looked like the current Aelita, but she had red hair instead of pink. Aelita never remembered a girl that looked like her attending Kadic. She then thought that she can get this girl to convince Jeremy to do anything Xana wants, except kill him. She had the idea, now, to convince her to obey Xana even though Xana would have a way to do it. Aelita then headed back to Lyoko to report to Xana.
"Manipulation huh?" Xana questions.
"I just need a way to make sure she obeys without question" Aelita replies.
"I'll have a device uploaded to the supercomputer. Use the rematerialization code along with it to bring it to the real world."
Aelita then headed back to get the device Xana uploaded. When she accessed the supercomputer, she saw the device. She then ran the one-time use rematerialization code to get the device.
Current Aelita's Point of View
Current Aelita was in the mountain sector. She had just finished talking with Jeremy and was about to head to a tower to stay hidden from Xana. She then heard a weird sound from behind her and screamed.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita only had one problem now, how to convince the new girl to get her to put on the device. Xana disguised as a hairpin, so it won't raise suspicion from any girl on what it was. Since Aelita didn't know the girl's name, she decided to confront the group about what her name is.
"Hey guys. Man, all of you look down" Aelita commented on the state of the group.
"Give it to us. What's Xana got this time?" Ulrich says.
"Nothing. I just came to say hi. Aren't we friends?"
"After what you did to Yumi, you're tipping the balance between friend and enemy."
"In order to play my ace in the hole, Yumi had to play the bait. I'm sorry about that, but if I didn't do that, Xana probably would've vaporized her."
"Well at least Xana was quiet. I couldn't sleep for three days after that experience" Yumi said, still a little tired.
"It gets worse," Aelita said quietly. "So, what's Jeremy's problem today?"
"We have a new student in our class. Jeremy is convinced it's Aelita. Some of the facial features I see, but the hair and her attitude, it doesn't seem like Aelita" Ulrich responds.
"Also, it's weird how she didn't recognize us. Say A, since you have some experience with the supercomputer, do you know if it can cause amnesia?" Odd adds.
'Considering how many times Xana and eventually William will blow us away, none of us came out with amnesia. Better be honest.' "I haven't much experience with virtualizations and devirtualizations to tell you anything. It's possible, but I'm not certain" Aelita responds convincingly enough.
"I don't know what you guys see. It's Aelita head to toe!" Jeremy insists.
"Just because she doesn't appear in Lyoko doesn't mean Taliea is her!" Ulrich snaps back.
'Well, that answers one question. But what did Xana do to current Aelita?' "I have to go guys. See you soon." Aelita entered Lyoko through the door to answer all her questions.
"Is it done?" Xana questions.
"No, but what did you do to Aelita?" Aelita responds.
Xana pulled her up in a screen and showed her in a guardian. "Just a little something to keep them busy until we can get what we want. She is also safe. The guardian is non-lethal."
"Great, give me about thirty more minutes. I'll have that device in her ear."
Aelita then exited and went to go find the new Aelita…Taliea.
Aelita searched the once known vacant rooms. Luckily for her, Taliea didn't close her door. She saw her still unpacking.
"So, you're the new girl here?" Aelita told her.
"Just because you're a bigger kid doesn't mean you get to bully me! I can defend myself just fine!" Taliea responds, clearly feeling threatened.
"I don't go here, I'm um…alumni. I used to go to this school. Just some pointers. Be careful of the other girls, some of them can be ruthless. Also, that tough stance won't be noticed until you demonstrate that you can fight for yourself, but it's probably not a good idea. Oh, and if a girl by the name of Sissi hassles you, just hit her with an insult and she'll back off."
"Wait! Let me get a good look at you," Taliea says and get a good look at the future version of Aelita. Taliea then looks into a mirror she has and notices the similarities they both share. "Are you, a distant cousin? I was orphaned so I don't know any of my family."
Aelita was clearly taken away by this. It was hard for her to pass as a distant cousin. But then Aelita decided she could use this to her advantage.
"Uh yes. I'm sorry for what happened to you, but there were some difficulties after your mother birthed you that none of us could care for you" Aelita believed she made a pretty good convincing story.
"It's so nice to finally meet you."
She bent down to her. "Here is a little self-help device that will help you out a lot."
Taliea put the device into her hair and Aelita walks away knowing that she succeeded in her mission.
Aelita reported back to Xana reporting that her mission was a success. "So, what's your grand plan for our subject here?"
"If all goes as planned, we can eliminate the Lyoko Warriors regime right here. And with Aelita trapped and her signal masked, we can have all the time we need to find a way to extract the keys" Xana says.
"Looks like we have company arriving" Aelita points out as she sees through a security camera, Jeremy approaches Taliea's room.
"We'll just have to move into phase 2."
Taliea's Point of View
Just before Jeremy was due to arrive, Xana started speaking to her. "Good day, these lessons will help you become a better person as well as help you become more of a social person and help you make friends in new places. Lesson one: whenever strangers pop up in your life, be friendly and they'll open to you."
Just at this moment Jeremy arrives. "Aelita! Listen to me! I don't know how but I managed to get you away from Xana, but before we can eradicate him, I need you to remember us!" Jeremy pleads.
"Well, you certainly know how to make an entrance, considering your friend's bad pick-up line earlier."
"Don't you remember anything?"
Taliea stands puzzled for a moment. "Lesson two: continue to be friendly in order to understand everything about your new companion" Xana says.
"Well, nothing concerning you" Taliea responds.
"Well, I guess we'll I'll have to try and make you remember by jogging your memory" Jeremy responds.
"Lesson three: get interested in you new friends activities."
After a while, Taliea and Jeremy arrived at the factory. "Whoa what is this place?" Taliea asks.
"This place houses where you came from," Jeremy responds as they descend into the elevator. Jeremy enters a special code, and they enter the lab. Jeremy activates the holomap. "This is called Lyoko. It's where you came from. But is also houses a dangerous computer virus named Xana."
"Lesson four: if your friend says something is bad try to convince them to see it the other way."
"If this thing is so dangerous, then why don't you shut him down?" Taliea asks.
"Because this is your home. Even if you don't remember it, it just doesn't feel right" Jeremy responds.
"If this thing is as dangerous as you say, then the safer option would be able to kill the whole thing."
Jeremy was about to enter a command to end the Lyoko Warriors, when Odd and Ulrich stopped him. "Jeremy stop!" Ulrich says.
Aelita's Point of View
"More uninvited guests" Aelita mentions.
"We got to move to more drastic measures. Head back and make sure it all goes to plan" Xana says as Aelita nods and heads to Earth.
Taliea's Point of View
"You're willing to destroy everything, and we don't even know if Aelita is still on Lyoko" Odd says.
"Odd, Aelita is standing right in front of you!" Jeremy insists.
"Jeremy, we know you've dreamed of seeing Aelita in flesh and blood forever now but don't get carried away. Send us to Lyoko and we'll see if we can find the REAL Aelita" Ulrich tells him.
"Fine. I guess that's a safe bet."
After Ulrich and Odd head down to the scanners, Taliea then uses the elevator to head to the school.
"Final lesson: if your friend is resilient, report them."
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita hung outside the administration building to see if Xana knew what Taliea was thinking of. She shows and is determined to say something to the principal. A few minutes later a couple of police officers arrive and then aft er another few minutes they head back to the factory. "Oh no!" Aelita rushed back to inform Xana. She used the Lyoko door to get to him quickly. "We got big problems! Taliea's heading to the factory with the police!"
"So?" Xana responds.
"Do you imagine how much trouble we'll be in if they discover you? They'll disconnect you and you'll die."
"Hmm…"
Xana thinks as Ulrich and Odd have found the current Aelita.
"Better think fast because without a tower to deactivate, they're gonna start to question what's going on."
Aelita sees the police arrive.
"This is a bust. We'll try again next week."
Xana launches a return to the past to undo everything that happened.
Aelita was back at the gates watching Taliea arrive and hopes that her life will be better than it was in the past for her. "I'm sorry, but for what I'm trying to do, some must pay the price."
A.N. – And thus ends the first non-attack chapter. It's a little different from the original, but still follows the general idea. Next time, animals attack! PM me with story ideas if you have any!
