Chapter 29
Bill approached Georgie and looked at the poster.
"That's Edward Corcoran. He's Dorsey's older brother." Georgie explained.
"Wait what?" Eddie asked.
Bill and Georgie looked and saw Eddie approached them confused. Eddie looked at the poster and almost recognized the boy.
"What's going on?" a voice asked.
Bill, Eddie, and Georgie looked and saw Beverly, Mike, and Ben approaching them and Beverly was confused.
"It's Edward Corcoran, he's missing." Eddie explained.
"What?" Beverly said surprised.
She, Mike, and Ben looked at the poster and were shocked. There it was, Edward Corcoran and the poster said that he had been missing for a few days.
"I remember this guy, he asked to borrow a pencil once." Ben spoke.
The group was shocked, Edward was a younger student at their school and he was one of their classmates. Now, he was missing and everyone had their suspicions.
"It says he was last seen heading towards the standpipe." Stanley spoke.
"Isn't that the same pipe we went into?" Beverly asked.
"If it is, than Pennywise may have taken Edward." Georgie said.
"No, I d-d-doubt i-it. There's a lot of unearthed p-p-pipes in the p-park." Bill spoke.
"True, but Pennywise's territory is the whole town. It's possible that Edward got too close to his lair." Georgie pointed out.
"Just like Betty Ripsom." Mike added.
"Perhaps, and now everyone will be looking for Edward in the tunnels. This won't give us a chance to look into the tunnels again with all those people around." Stanley pointed out.
"Plus it will be bad for Pennywise." Mike added.
"Not true. There's a whole network of tunnels and who knows, maybe they'll be far away from the lair." Ben pointed out.
"Maybe, but right now we n-n-need t-to find Richie, then we can s-s-search the l-lair for Betty and Edward." Bill said.
"What about Henry?" Georgie asked.
The group looked at Georgie and realized that they had almost forgot about Henry. It had been weeks since Henry went missing and there were rumors that he was dead, but there was still hope. However, it was small. The likely chance of finding Henry in Pennywise's lair were slim, because it didn't make since. Why would Pennywise take Henry in the first place and if he did, why would he have him? There was a lot of unanswered questions and they would find answers after they find Richie. The group needed a place to sit down and talk, so they went to the park and sat on separate benches. Eddie looked around confused.
"Hey, where's Ale?" Eddie asked.
"I don't know. When we split up, she just disappeared." Beverly explained.
"Should we go find her?" Mike asked.
"No, s-s-something t-tells me that sh-sh-she c-can take care of herself." Bill spoke.
Georgie wasn't listening to the conversation, he was too busy thinking about Edward, Betty, and Henry. All he could feel was concern; he was concerned with the fact that his best friends were missing and that no one could find them. Georgie was troubled by this, as he should be able to feel something besides concern, like worry, fear, or terror, but alas, he couldn't feel anything too serious. Georgie covered his face.
"What are we going to do? Pennywise has possessed Richie, three of my best friends are missing, and now this situation has escalated to murder. We're walking on dangerous territory." He said.
"Shhhh, not so l-l-loud G-Georgie, people can still h-h-hear us." Bill warned.
The group looked around. Thankfully, no one heard them.
"We know that Pennywise comes here every 30 years to feed on kid's fears and kills people, we know that, but he's breaking his pattern and we need to figure out why." Eddie spoke.
"We know this has something to do with our grandparents, I have a feeling that this all started when they crossed paths with him." Beverly said.
"Okay, but what happens when he's finished?" Ben asked.
"I guess he goes b-b-back in-into h-h-hiding." Bill guessed.
"Speaking of which, has anyone seen him?" Mike asked.
"No, none of us have, or Bowers and his gang." Beverly spoke.
Okay, so what do we do now? Where do we go from here?" Stanley asked.
There was a long pause and silence, no one had any ideas, as they were all stumped, but after a while, Bill looked at the group.
"Tomorrow, we head back into the sewers." He said.
"What?! Are you crazy?!" Stanley asked.
"No, I'm not. Our b-b-best ch-chance of f-f-figuring out all of this is to g-g-go b-back into the s-s-sewers." Bill pointed out.
"But you saw what happened to Richie, Bill" Beverly pointed out.
"I know, but we didn't come pr-pr-prepared and Richie walked away in anger. This time, we'll be m-m-more pre-prepared." Bill said.
"That's right, I can get the maps we need now." Ben pointed out.
"And we should probably have weapons, in case we see Pennywise or his accomplice." Beverly added.
"I don't know guys, are weapons going to be enough?" Mike asked.
"Yeah, you saw what he did to Patrick, the guy must have super strength." Stanley pointed out.
"Not if we don't have a crucifix. Pennywise was weak when I used it." Beverly argued.
"And how did that turn out?" Stanley argued.
"ENOUGH! It's settled, tomorrow we'll h-h-head to the s-sewers, this time more prepared." Bill spoke.
"Should we tell Ale?" Mike asked.
"Yes, if one of you see her, tell her about t-t-tomorrow, al-alright?" Bill nodded.
"Got it. I'm going to be a little late tomorrow, but I'll meet you guys over there." Mike said.
"Alright, that's fine, now let's go home, the sun's about to go down." Bill spoke.
The group got up and started to leave the fair. Everyone got on their bikes and started to head back to their houses. Bill was certain that this time they would be more prepared tomorrow and that they could find Pennywise before he found the Bower's gang. However, there was the off set chance that something could go wrong and that made Bill a little bit anxious.
