Chapter 18 The Return (The Robots & Zero Gravity Zone)
A.N. – So, this is the last of the two-episode chapters in this season. Every episode after this before New Order will be its own separate chapter. So, let's begin!
Short Summary – Xana returns with a plan to use machines by using parts in the factory as the components.
Short Summary – As the pressure of a high stake's soccer game nears, Ulrich must decide to help those in the affected range of Xana's next attack or perform at his best for his father.

The Robots
A once quiet afternoon is interrupted at the factory as the machines start up. But instead of setting a trap for the warriors, the machines actually make something. The creation enters a dark part of the assembly line and a pair red eyes appears as sparks bring something to life…
The rest of the gang is in Jeremy's room as Jeremy unveils his newest creation, a robot called Kiwi 2. "I'd like you to meet Kiwi 2" Jeremy tells them.
Aelita immediately felt a shiver run down her spine. Never did she see the dogs multiply, but she remembers the attack.
"You okay A?" Odd asks.
"Uh, yeah. I'm just a little stunned how it's almost like an exact replica of your dog Odd" Aelita responds.
"I know. Now Kiwi has another playmate." The dog goes up to him and urinates oil on his leg.
"Seems Jeremy's robot needs to be house trained."
"Yeah, I forgot to change his oil today. He needs one everyday" Jeremy replies.
The bell rings signaling the game beginning soon. "We're bound for glory guys. You coming A?" Ulrich asks.
"Sure. I'd like to see this thing in action." She knew that Xana was bound to strike at some time. She didn't know when. As for the creation, it logs into the supercomputer and downloads all the files of the five Lyoko Warriors, even A.
A bunch of students gather in the gym to see Jeremy and Herb go head-to-head in a robot basketball game. The game proceeds as usual. One gains the lead, and the score becomes tied. It was back and forth the whole game. The score was 4 to 4 on game point. It looked like Kiwi 2 was going to win again but then it suddenly exploded. Herb's robot, Iron Sissi, grabs the ball and wins, declaring Herb the winner. Xana's creation comes up the way the boiler room entrance to the sewers growing closer…
The group rallies around Jeremy as he looks over the pieces of his robot. "It's okay Jeremy" Aelita tells him putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, you can't win them all the time" Yumi adds.
"I just want to know what happened?" Jeremy questions, unsure of why his robot exploded.
"We could show you," Milly says as she approaches with the camera. "Take a look at this." The group watches as Iron Sissi shoots a bolt that hits Kiwi 2 causing the explosion.
"That cheat! He's lucky he's a minor or he'd have bigger problems on his hands" Aelita says, clearly enraged.
"Well, I'm gonna confront him," Jeremy says as he walks over to Herb. "Herb, can I talk to you for a minute. I-" A student suddenly screams as a giant robot appears. "Where did that come from?!"
The robot eyes Jeremy and then runs towards him. The robot picks Jeremy up by his shirt. Ulrich throws the basketball at him which distracts him. He releases Jeremy and they all run into the boy's locker room. The robot tries to bash its way in.
"This thing is relentless" Aelita says.
"But it targeted us, so it must be Xana" Yumi adds.
"If that's true, Aelita must have been trying to reach us" Jeremy says as he connects.
As Jeremy talks to the current Aelita, a small hole appears in the door and the robot picks up the future Aelita by the neck. 'So, this proves Xana's targeting me now' Aelita thinks. Ulrich grabs a piece of equipment and throws it at the robot through the opening, causing it to drop Aelita. She backs away from the door.
"Okay, we'll head to the factory" Jeremy says.
"And we'll stay here and get rid of this mechanical menace" Yumi adds.
"I'm staying here too. The more help we have here, the best chance we have to defeat this thing" Aelita states.
The three run from the robot and appear in the science building. "We need to defeat this thing" Aelita says, panting.
"We need an expert in robots" Ulrich replies.
"Jeremy's not the only one who knows robotics" Yumi says.
"Who do you got in mind?"
"Herb."
"I guess we got no choice."
The three track down Herb and when they see him they grab him. "You're coming with us!" Yumi tells him. "Now you're going to help us."
"Why? You're not part of my group" Herb says as he's about to leave, but Aelita blocks him.
"I guess a cheater like you knows only how to run away" Aelita states.
"What are you saying?"
"Milly and Tamiya have your whole scandal on tape. How would Sissi feel knowing you had to cheat to win?" Yumi says.
"Okay, okay, what do you want?"
"You're going to help us deal with that robot" Aelita tells them.
"Okay, I got an idea, but we'll need Ms. Hertz's drill."
In the science lab, Herb finishes another little robot bird. "Done. Let's hope the robot isn't made out of titanium."
The four then head to the forest and Ulrich acts as bait. Yumi then appears and gets its attention. "Xana. No, I won't let you hurt him." The robot charges after her and she throws the robot bird and Herb controls it. It drills into its back. The robot eventually gets to Yumi and grabs her by her neck and starts to choke her. But then the robot suddenly shuts down and she releases herself as the robot falls down.
"We should get to the factory" Aelita states.
The three appear on the bridge to the factory and then appear close to the elevator to see another robot being made. "I don't believe it!" Ulrich says in disbelief.
"It's a nightmare!" Yumi adds.
"Yumi, get down to the scanners! Me and A will manage this thing" Ulrich tells her.
Just as Yumi runs away, Xana modifies the robot, giving it weapons. "Okay, this ends right now!" Aelita exclaims as she uses her Lyoko band to transform into her Lyoko avatar. The robot shoots at Ulrich, but Aelita blocks it. She fires an energy orb at it, but the robot seems unaffected.
"Why didn't your energy orb disable it?" Ulrich asks.
"Must be the metal. It acts as a shield and absorbs my attack."
The robot shoots at her and she dodges all of them except the last one, which severely injures her arm. She starts to bleed and holds it, so she doesn't bleed out. The robot aims, looking to finish them off. It fires but then the attack stops, signaling the tower has been deactivated.
The whole group was watching the game and this time, Jeremy was ready for Herb's cheating methods. As Herb fired his bolt, Jeremy moved Kiwi 2 to the side and avoided it. This time Jeremy defeated Herb and was declared the winner again. Even though the group was happy for Jeremy, Aelita was concerned. If this attack was bad, the next ones were only gonna get worse.
Zero Gravity Zone
Ulrich's Point of View
Tonight was a big game for the soccer team Ulrich was a part of. Not only was it against the school's archrival, but his parents were gonna attend it. Ulrich knew he had to perform at his best to impress his father. His mother always supported him, but his father never liked the way his grades were so the only thing that pleased him was Ulrich's soccer skills.
Practice for Ulrich was kicking goals as it was the school's only chance of defeating the star kicker of the rival school. Even though Ulrich missed one, he made everything else. Practice was over for the day and Jim was confident that Ulrich would be the key to winning. Practically, he was depending on him.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita returned to Earth and wants to be prepared for Xana's next attack. She suggested these next two should involve something with his electrical skills. But after the robot attack went South quickly, Aelita realized two things: Xana wasn't holding back, and she wasn't invincible in her Lyoko avatar mode. She saw Sissi practicing, and she threw her baton up and it didn't come back. Aelita looked up and saw it flying away. "Uh oh. This is problematic" Aelita said if Xana's attack involved anti-gravity.
The group all met up at Jeremy's room after Yumi had a levitating incident while walking into the school. Jeremy was talking with current Aelita who had already spotted an activated tower in the mountain region. The group was discussing going to Lyoko, but Ulrich opted out. He didn't explain why, and Jeremy thought he wanted the roar of the crowd over helping his friends. Odd explained that his father was going to be there and if Ulrich was a no show, it would be big trouble for him, and Ulrich never wants to disappoint his father.
Ulrich's Point of View
Ulrich sits in the boy's locker room and waits for the rest of the team and Jim to show up. He was torn between helping his friends and pleasing his father. He knew that if Xana struck, it could prove dangerous. But during this time, Ulrich eyeballs the star kicker of the rival team, Matt. They eye each other but say nothing.
Both teams go outside to begin the game. Ulrich sees his father and mother sitting in the first row. The game begins and Kadic gains possession of the ball first.
Aelita's Point of View
The gang was in the factory. Aelita stayed with Jeremy in the lab as back up and Odd and Yumi were in the scanners. Jeremy was scanning the area and found out where Xana was holed up. He found him in the electrical network.
"Electro-magnetic fields. He can manipulate gravity at will" Aelita realizes. There was no way to force stop this attack.
"Luckily he doesn't have the power yet to do it, but he will soon" Jeremy replies.
Ulrich's Point of View
The first half of the game ended with Kadic leading 2-0. Ulrich gets a call from Jeremy. "Jeremy…"
"Listen Ulrich. Xana is planning to send the school into orbit. To do it he is attacking the science building to gain the power he needs. Is everyone out of the building?"
"Yeah, everyone's here."
"Are you absolutely sure?"
Ulrich looks at the crowd and notices Ms. Hertz is missing. "Ms. Hertz isn't here. She must be in the chemistry lab."
"Ulrich, I know you don't want to, but you have to get her out."
"Jeremy, don't ask me to do that."
"Listen Ulrich. Disappointing your father is the least important thing right now. If Ms. Hertz is in danger her life is worth more than anything right now." Ulrich just stops and no one really knows why. "Ulrich, it's matter of life and death."
"Just shut up Jeremy," Ulrich disconnects and goes back to the game. Ulrich then fakes an injury to then save Ms. Hertz. "Jeremy, I just left the stadium.
"Thanks Ulrich."
"I'm heading to the chemistry lab." Ulrich enters the lab as if nothing is happening yet. But as soon as he says that he is thrown into the air. Ulrich then moves towards Ms. Hertz's location and secures her. "Jeremy, I got her. Do your thing."
"Here we go. The reverse circuit is working."
They all drop to the ground and Ulrich moves to get her to safety when the lights start to flicker again. "Jeremy, what's happening?"
"Ulrich, it looks like Xana is taking control again. Be ready!"
Ulrich and Ms. Hertz are once again thrown into the air. He also notices Sissi is also in the lab. He grabs her hand and Jeremy regains control and they all fall and the lights shatter.
Aelita's Point of View
As Jeremy is trying to help Ulrich, Aelita notices Yumi's life points slowly starting to drain due to the strain the telekinesis is putting her through. "Jeremy, we need a backup plan because at this rate, Xana is gonna win!"
"Oh, I don't know what to do."
The screen then shows the current Aelita creating a platform past the hornets. They shoot at her as she moves. She eventually loses balance and falls into the digital sea. Aelita assumes once again she has taken the role of current Aelita, but her whole plan gets derailed. But then the current Aelita speaks up. She then enters the tower and stops Xana's attack.
The gang was all at the game to watch Ulrich do what he does best, play soccer. As for Aelita, she was increasingly concerned about the way Xana was going about these attacks. As current Aelita's materialization nears, Xana becomes more focused on trying to eliminate the Lyoko Warriors. Aelita makes the decision that she will still help Xana, but she will now head to Lyoko with the warriors.
A.N. – Only five more chapters left for this season, but the story as a whole is far from done. Next time, we go into one of the most debatable ending episodes in the whole show and personally, my favorite episode in this season. PM me with story ideas if you have any!
