Chapter 24 A New Way to Fight on Both Ends (New Order)
A.N. – The beginning of season 2 and the mysteries surrounding Aelita's and A's past. How will A cover up what is revealed? How will she keep her secret? And what measures will Xana take to ensure he gets the keys? Only one way to find out!
Short Summary – With the creation of Jeremy's new super scan, current Aelita can live a normal life on Earth, but unfortunately for the Lyoko Warriors, evil never stops.

A few months have passed since current Aelita was materialized. Xana has been quiet and Aelita knows that he was preparing his memory stealing monster as well as a usable version of the tarantulas. The ones they used were only prototypes. Jeremy brought current Aelita to Earth more times and without the threat of Xana looming, Jeremy was able to develop a super scanner to locate activated towers on Lyoko much faster. He was also able to set up a communication window with Aelita in her virtual abode to be in contact with her. She didn't need it, but she agreed to it to avoid suspicion. Jeremy also explained a surprise for current Aelita happening soon.
Yumi wanted to take current Aelita clothes shopping so she could have some new clothes for when she attended Kadic. Aelita at this time offered to take her. She didn't need the money to buy her stuff, but she knew that if she were to use her money, it could cause problems down the road. So, to avoid this A asked her to lend her some money to help buy current Aelita her new wardrobe. She was also gonna use this to interact with her past self. She also remembered where Yumi took her to get her outfits, so this would be an easy trip. No use stressing out over twice. Jeremy materialized her and the 'sisters' took off to the mall.
As they walked towards where they were headed, this was the perfect time to see what her current self knew and didn't. "So, you don't remember exactly who was in the tower with you?" Aelita asked her current self.
"No, but I'm sure one of them was Xana. I kinda have a vision of a second person, but it could have been someone that Xana made for assistance" current Aelita responded.
'Good, she doesn't know I was there. I just hope Xana can get the keys without complications' Aelita thought and hoped.
The two went to the shop where she and Yumi went the first time that she liked immediately. Back when she originally did it, they had to go through five stores before they finally settled on something she liked. Aelita knowing this information was able to make this a little stressful as ever. Aelita picked out two pink dress-like shirts. One came with a pick jacket with a hood and pockets in the front. The other one was just a long shirt. She also picked out two pirs of pink boots.
"No skirts?" Aelita asked her current self.
"To be honest, I'm not a fan of this style. These two do look like they'll be long enough to where I won't need one" current Aelita responded.
Aelita knew she was right. Even back in the day she was surprised that this worked. She originally thought that she would get a little taller and the shirt would look much shorter on her, but that didn't happen. She looked at herself and reflected on how much her style changed after Kadic and marriage. Started wearing more tank tops and skirts, but she also left in the middle of summer too.
They were about ready to check out, but Aelita stopped her. "You're not done yet."
"Why not?"
"You got what your gonna wear on the outside, but what about under?" Aelita was trying to be subtle about this, but this was about to backfire.
"There's stuff underneath?"
She forgot that she was a little naïve at this time. She suddenly remembered her first night at Yumi's. "When you spent the night at Yumi's, what did you wear to bed?"
"A shirt that Yumi had."
"Right, so you had to take off your jacket, shirt, and skirt, right?"
"I guess so."
"Yeah, so when that was done you were wearing only a bra and underwear. You need those two things on before you putting something on over it."
"Are you sure?"
"Trust me. You don't wear either one, you get a lot of unnecessary eyes on you. And right now, only one pair of eyes should be looking at you." Aelita was obviously referring to Jeremy.
After this the two of them brough seven pairs of bras and underwear. It was perfect for when she was gonna get settled in. Yumi was gonna give her some socks and that shirt she wore that one night at her house. All that was left was to surprise her.
The day has come to enroll Aelita in Kadic. Jeremy was also showing the warriors their new vehicles. Aelita had her wings, so she didn't need one. She was sitting at the bottom of a cliff when Odd came over and crashed out. Ulrich came and landed successfully.
"Seems like you need more practice" A pointed out to Odd.
"Or the board needs work" Odd added.
"I think the rider needs work. I also hate to interrupt you, but it seems like Xana has spotted you. That's weird, this monster has more life points than the others" Jeremy says.
"Hey, what's that?" Yumi says as she points to a cloud of smoke. A spider-like monster appears with a growl and sets it sights on them.
"I don't know, but it looks like trouble" Ulrich says, pushing his sword up slightly.
"I never seen a monster like that before. Xana must have just created it" current Aelita says.
'Not just created but improved it' Aelita thought as she also prepared for battle. The monster then pulls its front arms around and reveals a pair of twin laser shooters.
It was at this time that the Lyoko Warriors began their assault. The monster fired both lasers and the Lyoko Warriors struggled to hold their own against this new monster. They were all defeated and the current Aelita made it to the tower and was successfully rematerialized. The monster just growled in response to victory. Even Aelita saw that this monster could be a threat now.
The group was in the lab as they were discussing the new monster they fought. "Looks like our friend Xana has just improved his tactics. Creating new monsters. Who knows what else he has up his sleeve" Jeremy reports.
"And if he's just reappearing now, this is only the beginning of his new string of attacks" A told them.
"Anyway Einstein, you're gonna have to program our vehicles faster or we don's stand a chance against those Tarantulas!" Odd said.
"Your aunt what?" Yumi asked.
"Tarantulas. I like to give monsters a name."
"Well, I should head back. If Xana activates a tower-" current Aelita starts.
"Uh, should we tell her?" Jeremy asks.
"Well of course we should tell her. Why keep this a secret?" Yumi says.
"Yeah, we spent a lot of time preparing this. She has to know eventually" A adds.
"What's the big surprise?" Current Aelita asks.
Over the past few weeks, I developed several programs. One for communicating with A on Lyoko, developing your vehicles and a new tower scanner program, so I can develop your anti-virus faster" Jeremy explains.
"A super scanner. Much faster than the old one" Odd says.
"With instant detection. Which means you don't have to stay on Lyoko all the time!"
"That means I gonna live-" current Aelita starts.
"Here, with us. We already enrolled you for a dorm at Kadic" Ulrich finishes.
Current Aelita's Point of View
Aelita, Jeremy, Ulrich, Odd, and Jim showed Aelita her new room. "And this will be your room. It's not very big, but you'll like it her Miss um…" Jim says.
"Stones. Aelita Stones. Like the rock group. I'm Odd's cousin" Aelita says.
"Right. Anyways, breakfast is at 7AM and dinner is at 7PM. It is forbidden to be in the rooms between 8AM and 5PM. Your friends Stern, Belpois, and Della Robbia will explain the rest of the rules to you" Jim glances at them. "That is if they can remember them!"
The group was now at the front of the school preparing for a class science trip. A was not with them as she didn't want to raise any alarms about an adult being present during school hours. The class took off in groups. Aelita and Jeremy eventually ran into A in the forest.
"Fancy running into you two here" A said, leaning against a tree.
"Oh, hi A. Can you keep an eye on Aelita? I need to grab my laptop" Jeremy said as he ran off.
"Sure" A said to him.
Aelita's Point of View
She turned around and saw Aelita acting a little strangely. "Aelita?" She didn't respond and then started murmuring something. She then suddenly screamed and took off. "Aelita!" A took off after her. Aelita gasped and dropped her notepad, gripping her head. She then took off in another direction. A caught up to Aelita and grabbed her shoulders. She screamed and turned violently towards her. "Hey, hey, hey, it's okay! It's me A!" She wrapped her arms around her. "Your safe. Trust me." They both turned and saw a mysterious house.
"The Hermitage?" Aelita asked with question.
"We shouldn't do this Aelita" A said, remembering what happened the first time.
Aelita walked up, like she was in a trance. "Is anyone home?" Aelita asked but got no response.
A knew that Xana was watching them. She glanced at the camera with 'I know you watching' look. Aelita entered the house. A went after her to protect her from Xana. She looked at her cell and noticed it had no connection. "Xana's trapped us" A whispers. Aelita suddenly screamed and A found her knocked out. When she checked on her, the same thing that knocked her out, did the same to A.
When A awoke, she found herself and current self in a boiler room. She didn't know who took her there or who was there with her. She looked around and also saw Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd. "Guys, get out. The house, it's a trap by Xana…"
As A finished the door to the boiler closed and Odd stopped it with his leg. "Get Aelita out!" Odd demanded as was struggling to hold the door open. Aelita was able to escape. A saw Odd losing his strength and she pushed him out, leaving Ulrich and Yumi trapped. "You'll be cooked alive if we leave you in there!"
All of them tried to open the door, but to no anvil. "Odd, get Aelita to Lyoko and deactivate the tower! It's our only hope!" Ulrich told him.
The three of them went to the door and found it locked. "Great, locked."
"Just like every door in this house" A added.
Just then, a huge cabinet came at them and Odd avoided it and it crashed into the door, destroying it, and providing an escape. The three of them walked off and Aelita looked like she was in another state of shock.
"Odd, I think this is a passage to the sewers" Aelita tells him pointing to a door in the garden.
"This is no time for jokes, Aelita" Odd tells her.
"I'm not joking Odd!" Aelita says with her eyes closed.
He opens the door and then sees a direct passage to the sewers. "Well, what do you know?"
The three arrived at the factory and appeared in the lab and Jeremy was relieved to see them. "Where are Yumi and Ulrich?"
"Stuck in a boiler at some old and abandoned house. Best course of action for them, we deactivate the tower" A says.
"Okay, head on down and I'll start the procedure." All three of them took a scanner position and Jeremy successfully virtualized them to the ice sector. "Here come your vehicles." A activated her wings as Odd climbed on his Overboard and Aelita climbed aboard the Overwing. The three of them sped off to the tower. "Your new friends the tarantulas are there."
"So, how do we do this?" A asks as she lands.
"A, take the Overwing and lead one away. Once Odd destroys the last one guarding the tower, I'll make a run for it" Aelita says to her.
A climbs on the Overwing. "Let's go Odd." The two of them sped off and Aelita watches them as they go. "Well Xana, care to test one of those on me." One tarantula looks at the other and then the other nods to say, 'go after her.' The tarantula chases after her.
As A gets farther from the tower, the tarantula fires at the vehicle and Aelita tumbles after the vehicle disappears. She gets up and stares down at the monster. Odd appears behind her. "A, drop!" Odd fires multiple arrows and destroys the tarantula. A also see Aelita enter the tower. Soon after, time is reversed.
A joined the group to see how Aelita's first day as a normal dorm student went. She saw Odd and Ulrich also returning. "So, how did you two do?" Jeremy asks.
"Well, it won't be a zero, but I had to get him away from Yumi and William first" Odd says.
A just remembered this was the day William transferred to Kadic. "I would keep a close eye on William. Considering he got expelled, he may be a problem."
"You're telling me" Ulrich said agreeing with her.
"For Xana reasons Ulrich, not reasons of love." This caused Ulrich to blush a little.
"Speaking of Xana, Aelita, I got you something to help us stay one step ahead of him," Jeremy said as he handed Aelita a package. She unwrapped it and found a mobile. "I thought pink would suit you."
"Hey, it matches your hair" Odd says.
Aelita hugs Jeremy as a thank you.
"Well, I'll catch you guys later." A then returned to Lyoko.
When A returned, Xana immediately confronted her. "How did you know about my attack?"
"Abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. Seems perfect for you" A responded.
"I guess so. Time to get your head back in the game. We move on Aelita next."
A knew what was gonna happen next, but she needed to let her current self relearn all by herself.
A.N. – This is only the beginning and the Scyphozoa will make its debut in the next chapter. Also, more mystery lies ahead of the Lyoko Warriors. Also, since current Aelita is now on Earth, I probably refer to future Aelita as A from now on until the final chapter. Makes it easier to write these chapters.
