Chapter 03

Cleolei

The fused mummy/werecat slowly strolls up to the school. The ghoul stiffens once she hears a familiar voice.

"Cleo!" Deuce runs up to her. When the gorgon gets up to her, he stops, and a brow is seen rising above his glasses. "Toralei?"

Cleolei turns to face the manster, "Neither, actually," she refuses meet his eyes.

"You kinda look like Cleo and you sound like Cleo?"

This conversation is upsetting the Fusion "But I'm not Cleo!"

"C'mon," Deuce takes her hand. "Let's just talk about what's going. We can go to the Coffin Bean like we usually—"

"You and I have never been to the Coffin Bean!" Cleolei snaps as she pulls away. "That was you and Cleo. And you better get used to the idea of never being with her, because Cleo de Nile is gone, and you'll never see her again!" she storms off in tears.

Cleolei makes her way to the headmistress' office. She got there just as Bloodgood was packing her things to leave.

The woman notices the ghoul. "Toralei, er, Cleo?"

"Cleolei is fine," the Fusion looks down. hoping that the headless woman would not notice her bloodshot eyes.

"Very well. Cleolei. What are you doing here? I told you to go home."

"My da—" the mummy/werecat clears her throat. "Cleo's dad is out of town and the servants kicked me out," she looks up pleading at the woman. "I don't want to intrude but I know that you and Toralei had a bond. I was hoping—" she is stopped by the feel of arms wrapping around her.

"You can stay as long as you need, dear," Bloodgood breaks away from her. "I'll finish gathering my things and then we'll be off," she goes back to placing papers in the bag. "I won't lie. I'm going to miss that ghoul. However, I look foreword to getting to know you, Cleolei," she gives the Fusion a soft smile.

Cleolei tries to return the smile, but it falters.

Dracubecca

Clawd and Dracubecca are sitting on the ground in the backyard of Draculaura's mansion.

"So, you're neither Draculaura nor Robecca," Clawd tilts his head.

The vampire/robot scratches her head. "It's more like I'm both Draculaura and Robecca. It's hard to explain. I still desire for all the latest fashion tips, and I am not getting rid of my Teen Ghoul magazines. But now, I have this passion to seek out some thrills," the Fusion sighs. "I know that I'm not the ghoul you fell in love with, and I understand if you want to break up."

Clawd takes her hand. "I don't think I could ever do that to you."

"What?"

"You are still the same Draculaura deep down. There's just more of you to love and I would like to get to know more about you, Dracubecca."

Hearing that, the Fusion kisses the manster on the cheek.

Lagoonafire

The Fusion sea monster/dragon finds herself pacing back and forth in front of the Maul. She then bumps into someone.

"Oh? Excuse me," Gil says before squinting at the ghoul in front of him. "You kinda look like my ghoulfriend."

The fusion gives a nervous smile, "Hi, Gil!"

"Lagoona? I hardly recognized you!"

"Lagoonafire, actually," the fusion leads the freshwater monster to a nearby bench. "I need to tell you something.

After a few minutes, Gil finds himself holding the side of his helmet. "So, I'll never see my Lagoona again?"

"I didn't say that!" the fusion grabs his hand. "I'm a little different, but I'm still here."

"My parents already don't accept me dating a saltwater monster," he removes his hand and gestures to the ghoul. "How am I going to explain this?"

Lagoonafire glares. "And what do you mean by that!?"

"You know what I mean."

"No, I don't, Gil!" she stands, feeling the heat rising in her lungs, "You know what? It's probably a good thing Lagoona is no longer here. Because I know for a fact that she would not like what I'm hearing," the ghoul starts walking away.

"Lagoona, wait!" Gil grabs her hand.

As if by instinct, the fusion turns and lets out a burst of flames out from between her lips. None of it touched the manster but he flinched away none the less. Once the fire died down, Lagoonafire glared at him. "I don't think we should see each other or awhile. It be safer for ya, mate." With that, the ghoul leaves Gil standing alone

Clawvenus

Harriet calls out, "Dinner's ready!"

With that, Howleen comes running into the room followed by Clawd. Harry soon walks in sniffing the air.

"I just love stake night," Harry lets out a blissful sigh. He takes a seat and notices the empty chair. "Where's Clawdeen, er, Clawvenus?"

"Sorry!" the werewolf/pant ghoul comes in. "I was just finishing a touch on a skirt," she seats across from her younger sister.

Howleen looks at her older sister strangely. "This is still so weird. How can we just go from Clawdeen to Clawvenus overnight?"

The mother scolds. "Howleen!"

"She's right, Mom," Clawd speaks up. "She's still my sis and I love her, but it's confusing. I don't know how many times I slipped up and called Dracubecca Draculaura," he sighs. "It's gonna take some getting used to. Nice seeing her taking more interests in sports though."

Clawvenus laughs, "It's alright, Mo—" the Fusion stops. "I still need to get used to it myself. I'm not even sure if I should call you my parents."

Harriet reaches for her daughter's hand to give it a comforting squeeze. "No matter who you are, what you are, what you look like, or even what you do, you will always be our daughter," she smiles at the Fusion. Harry offers a nod and a grunt to agree with his wife.

Harry claps, "Now then. Let's eat!" he starts digging in as to the rest of the family follows behind.

Clawvenus takes deep breath as her stake smells delicious. Oddly, more so than usual. She cuts a large piece off and as soon as the savory meal touched her tongue, the ghoul wanted to spit it out.

Howleen notices, her sister's face contorting. "Clawde… I mean, Clawvenus? Are you alright?"

The Fusion swallows the food. "Yeah, I'm fine—" the ghoul suddenly covers her mouth and rushes to the sink to empty her stomach of its contents.

"Sis!" Clawd runs up to her. "What's wrong?"

"I-I don't know. I just can't—" Clawvenus is cut off as her stomach is not finished yet. She huffs as she raises her head out of the sink. "I think I'm done. I'm okay," she goes and sits back down at the dinner table.

"Honey?" Harriet places a hand on her daughter's back. "What happened?"

"I don't know, Mom," the werewolf/plant monster uses a napkin to wipe her mouth. "I took one bite and it tasted horrible. I'm sorry to say that. But I don't know why. It's the same recipe you've used since I was little. I can smell it. I just can't eat it."

Everyone looks at one another in worry.

Clawd gets an idea. "Hang on! Give me a minute," he goes over to the fridge, takes something out, and rushes to the microwave to heat something up. After a minute he returns with a takeout container with some unusual dish. "Here, sis. Try this."

Clawvenus looks at the weird dish. She can make out some lettuce, other vegetables, and something else. The ghoul shrugs before hesitantly taking a bite out of this meal. She lets out a moan. "This tastes so good," she takes another bite. "Clawd, where did you get this?" the fusion continues eating the mystery dish.

"Draculaura," he says, causing Clawvenus to freeze. "It's her vegan surprise. The surprise being the tofu. She left it here after our family BBQ last week."

The fusion sets her silverware down. "How can I eat this, but not something I've had since I was a pup?"

At this, the father clears his throat, "Well, Clawvenus. You are at least half plant monster now. It would make sense that you may not be able to stomach the same food."

"You mean, I can't have meat again?" she looks over at her mom. "Or enjoy your cooking?"

"Oh, honey," Harriet hugs her daughter. "You'll still enjoy my cooking. I'm just gonna need to adapt what I make for you. Might have to get some pointers from Dracubecca, though. How about we finish eating and then we'll watch a movie? Doesn't that sound lovely?"

Instead of answering, Clawvenus pushes the takeout bowl away. "I'm not hungry anymore. I think I'll just go to my room," with that, the fusion leaves her family to their meal.

End

NOTE: You didn't really think that Cleolei was going to be the only one to have trouble, did you? All the fusions are going to have to adapt to not only their new appearance, but also their new personalities and physiology.
