I had my hand ready to unsheathe my blade and my sharingan ready. Soon the smoke would clear out, but I was still prepared for any attack as I knew Manda would try his luck again after thoroughly humiliating him in front of his kin.
But that attack never came as my sharingan detected nothing coming my way or any chakra concentration. Neither could I feel any killing intent directed at me.
When the smoke slowly cleared out, I was finally revealed that I wasn't in an open place like before but a relatively small room with sand-yellow tatami mats, the cream-white walls and birch wood. My red eyes landed on a big stone shrine to my right, with symbols engraved on it and snake statues of all sizes and shapes.
However, in the shrine there were three snakes looking at me, along with the same elder snake from the last time when I was reverse summoned for a punishment attempt.
I didn't take into consideration that they would abruptly summon me to their sacred land without previous notice. But I could relax a bit, as no one would try to attack me.
"So it was you." My vision returned to a natural color, but my hand still kept the grip on my sword handle as a safety measure. "I must say. Your timing is terrible."
Suddenly disappearing with so many eye witnesses on me, I had a hunch that things back at Konoha weren't looking pretty.
Hopefully Karin might be able to defuse the powder keg in my absence.
"Sasuke Uchiha." The snake from the middle finally spoke up.
"We have decided to not teach you the sage mode." The other continued.
My lip twitched as my eyes narrowed, my nails digging into the skin of my palm, "Didn't I say that it was…"
"Let us finish first." The elder raised his tail before I could protest, "We won't teach you sage mode as long as you have that perversion of senjutsu on your neck."
My hand reached for the cursed seal. It proved to be a useful tool but thanks to them, it was proven to be a liability for my progress. "I can't get it off." Unless I somehow got Itachi's legendary sword and stab myself with it, "Besides, this helps me to channel and absorb senjutsu. I thought the sage arts required me to absorb nature chakra."
"That is a perversion of sacred arts. We will not taint a legacy, so you can get a twisted and corrupted path." Another elder raised his voice.
I kept my silence as I was deliberating the pros and cons of my seal, the last couple of months I didn't find any disadvantages and my mind remained clear as far as I was concerned, even the short outburst I could only attribute to my Uchiha heritage. Either way, getting rid of the seal wouldn't cripple me, as I would get the original and superior version of senjutsu.
"Fine. If I get rid of this, will you accept then?" A small price to pay.
The leader nodded, "Despite the incidents from the past, we will be willing to teach you as long as that seal is gone."
"I accept your terms. Is there anything else you wish to add?"
"We ask you to not use your sharingan against our brethren." Another spoke up, causing me to raise an eyebrow.
"Why not? They threatened my life. They should be glad I didn't take theirs."
It was like they would have shown any mercy to me if I was a weakling. They would be laughing as I screamed inside one of their member's stomachs, just like Karin said.
"I'm not telling you to not defend yourself, but it would be preferable if you subdued them in a more conventional manner."
I rubbed my chin as I looked up and pondered. The sharingan no matter what would always be considered an unbeatable tool or cheats which I would exploit as much as possible but his words had some merit since they would learn to respect me or learn when to be docile, like Manda,"I will take your words into consideration, no promises."
"That's all we ask." The elder said.
"Now send me back. Hopefully, everyone was able to hold back." I said. But I was mentally preparing myself to find a battlefield already back at Konoha.
Not soon after I finished my sentence, my body was engulfed by the same smokescreen and temporarily blocked vision.
But that didn't matter, as I heard shouting from every direction.
"See?! I told you he would be back!" I saw our redheaded teammate yell and pointed at me.
"I assume the situation didn't explode." I walked up to her as I analyzed my surroundings.
It wasn't a good thing that I could find so many Anbu operatives spread all over the place. Every single one of them had their gaze entirely on me and my team, ready to pounce.
"Suigetsu really wanted to fight, and it was hard to keep Juugo down." She said.
Before I could check on the rest, somebody landed next to us and abruptly interrupted us.
"You will come to the hokage office. Now." The uninvited guest turned out to be an Anbu who grabbed my shoulder and tried to apply pressure. I mentally laughed at his feeble attempt to knock me out since he didn't have the strength and he was grabbing the wrong spot, but my anger suppressed my amusement.
"Don't touch me." Immediately I took a hold of his wrist with enough force to force him to release his grip on me. Then I kicked him in the stomach and sent him flying, with the strength that he might have crashed against a building's window, but the Anbu from our surroundings were close enough to prevent that from happening.
Of course, that didn't sit well with the group, and everyone went for their weapons but didn't draw them out.
I glanced at my team, who also shifted their stance. Karin tactfully and silently placed herself behind the other two.
That's when it hit me. We had one missing member. In the scene there were only Karin Suigetsu and Juugo, there was not a single green-haired jinchuuriki on sight.
"Where is Fu?"
"She went to the hokage tower." Another Anbu landed next to me. She had all her blonde hair tied with nails or senbons.
"She went, or she was taken?" I raised an eyebrow. I had a strong belief that she would have patiently waited for my return, but so many shinobi came to the scene and started demanding answers and being unable to answer any question would land you a ticket to an interrogation cell.
But there weren't signs of battle, the plaza and the building were in perfect shape.
"Escorted." The female Anbu replied.
"What a nice way to refer to imprisonment." I corrected her.
She didn't say a word, but she was glaring daggers at me behind that white porcelain mask of hers.
It soon turned into a staring competition between the two while my right hand was playing with the handle of my blade. I was more than ready to strike her if she or anyone tried something against me.
"Alright, tone it down you guys. I will take it from here." In the nick of time, another redhead came into the picture to cool down the rising tensions.
But it was a very coincidental arrival.
And all the Anbu operatives that looked ready to jump into action obeyed her with little to no protest?
Odd.
"Not even a week and you are already causing a shitshow." Tayuya hissed as looked at me with a frown, crossing both arms.
I raised a hand to signal my team to relax, which they promptly did.
"You all are overreacting. Not even an hour has passed. Yet all of you were ready to attack me and my team and to top it all off, you arrested Fu." I said.
"You know we can accomplish so many things in under an hour. And you aren't on the good boy list as far as I'm concerned…" she teased with a smirk, "And greenie wasn't arrested. I told her to head to the hokage tower to avoid any trouble."
"Get to the point. I would rather wrap this up than wasting my time here playing your stupid games."
Tayuya threw her hands up in the air in clear frusation, "Just go to the fucking tower and explain what happened. Very difficult to fuck that up, but you were on the right path to fuck it up."
I took another glance at my surroundings and the Anbu operatives were leaving in small groups. Even if it was done in a small group, it was done efficiently, to the point that the whole place was practically empty.
Only Tayuya remained with a pair of Anbu operatives standing behind her.
I could say it was a big misunderstanding that could have escalated to a full-blown battle but I would keep with the belief that it was entirely their fault for blowing things out of proportion, and it all started because those reptile bastards didn't know what a warning or a messenger was.
There was a strong temptation to walk all the way to the hokage tower just to spite them, but I wasn't an irrational little shit. Jumping on the nearest roof and waving my hand in a signal for my team to follow me.
However, Tayuya's small group also took my cue to follow us closely. It was odd and even more so when she didn't try to speak with me or give us with her snarky comments. It was a very quiet time, only the sounds of our steps or the passing wind.
Arriving at the Hokage tower, we had to use the main entrance and go up the stairs until reaching the top like all the other times I visited the place. When we were on the last floor, the rest stayed behind and only I walked forward to the office.
I opened the door without bothering to knock.
In the wide room, Tsunade was looking at me with a scowl on her face.
Our jinchuuriki was sitting in front of her desk with a crestfallen look, barely registering my arrival.
"At least they didn't put you in a cell. What an improvement." My comment finally raised her awareness of me but didn't raise her head, instead she looked at the floor.
"Sorry." She muttered.
"Don't be. I should be the one apologizing for putting you in a bad spot." I spoke as I pulled the empty chair closer to me and sat on it facing the blonde hokage, who was clearly angrier than before.
But she was holding herself back, transferring her anger on her fist, clenching so hard that her knuckles were turning white.
"Care to explain why you suddenly disappeared?."
She seemed ready to explode on someone or something.
"Don't you recognize a reverse summoning? Sadly, I cannot control them. If they want to talk, they will bring me to them whenever they want." I explained.
Tsunade became silent as she was taking in my answer. Her mood took a drastic change, as she was no longer angry and ready to blow up. "Why would the snake clan reverse summon you?"
"They are pricks and very temperamental. But they only wanted to discuss a few things that could have been easily discussed with little drama. A letter would have been enough, but they preferred to summon me with no warning."
"I should have taken into consideration your relation with the snake clan. Civilians tend to overreact, but with the Akatsuki attack on my village not long ago, I cannot take any chances." The hokage rationalized out loud, and much to my dismay, I had to agree with her.
Anyone would be rightfully paranoid and jump at anything out of the ordinary.
"Come on Fu." The olive-skinned girl stood up.
"I didn't say you could leave." Tsunade quickly spoke up.
I stood up and leaned closer with a frown on my face. "What else do you want to hear? I was temporarily taken against my will and you pinned the blame on an innocent girl. Your Anbu should learn to respect personal space and negotiation skills."
"I would be very mindful of how you speak to me." She shot me a glare.
"Of course I would. Can we leave now?" I asked again.
Was I pushing my luck?
Yes.
Did I care?
Not in the slightest.
"Leave."
That was a request I would gladly comply with.
Fu silently followed me close and my team was lazily waiting for my return except Karin, who was fidgeting until she saw me open the door.
Though I had one complaint about going to the hokage tower, it was an extensive building with lots of stairs and it was mind numbing to go up and down in silence. The next time we were invited in I might ask to use the windows or I would just use them without bothering to ask, whatever came first, to be honest.
Exiting the tower, I checked my surroundings but found nobody waiting for us or at least watching our every move. So they were called back or were hiding in plain view, but I was sure Neji was still upholding his duty with more passion after my little punishment for being a stalker.
When we arrived at my family's home, everyone scattered to do whatever they wanted to do. In my case, I kicked my sandals and headed to the library, since I needed some real privacy.
The family library had desks and chairs for study, but there was a coach big enough to fit a person, the perfect place to drop.
It was a comfy improvised bed, but it lacked a pillow, but my thoughts of comfort soured as I recalled the meeting.
"Why am I even putting up with this?" I asked myself. I was treated like a grounded brat. Being outside the village, I enjoyed freedom without anyone trying to control me. But of course I knew the answer. I couldn't risk Akatsuki finding me and killing me. Maybe my brother could help me, but the second I talked with him he would discover something amiss with his little brother and put me in an even worse position.
I shouldn't have forced myself to reach Konoha so fast. If I was well rested, I could have negotiated better terms.
Perhaps I should adapt or pretend to adapt with everyone to make things tolerable.
"Sasuke-kun?" The voice of Karin broke me away from my thoughts since she shouldn't have been able to enter this place without my permission.
"Right, I left it open." I facepalmed. It was a stupid oversight on my part.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude."
"Just close the doors." I pointed in the entrance direction.
Karin followed my request and quickly returned as I pulled myself to a sitting position since I had a hunch she wanted to speak.
"Why are you here?" She asked.
"Only place where I can feel alone. I know for a fact there are many eyes watching me. There should be more privacy seals around my house. I said. But my proposal came with setbacks since I didn't know how to make a privacy seal and the only seal master I could think of would very likely scam me and turn my home into a mini police state.
"Is strange to see a couch in here. It looks way out of place." She pointed to the coach, her eyes widened as a smile formed on her lips, "Can I?"
I gave her a nod.
She happily sat next to me, which played right into my hands as I finally got a pillow, a lap pillow but a pillow nevertheless.
The redhead seemed excited about the idea, so didn't complain as I rested my head, but I shot a glare when she tried to caress my hair. Karin pouted but didn't try again and with the assurance I closed my eyes to enjoy a quick rest.
She was warm.
My eyes slowly pry open at the sight of an asleep Karin.
I had to give it to her to keep her hands to herself. Though it would have been amusing to see her reaction if I caught her red-handed.
"How long was I gone?" I stood up and gently shook her shoulder to wake her up.
"I don't know…" She yawned. "There isn't a watch here."
Karin fixed her glasses and stretched her arms.
Since there wasn't an incessant banging on the doors or shouting coming from above, then it was more than reasonable to assume that it hadn't been that long. "We need to leave or they will throw a fit again for disappearing from them."
"Can I stay, please? There is so much to learn." She pointed at the shelves as she gave me a pleading look.
I thought about her proposal. The only thing that was holding me back from allowing her was that I didn't really want to leave her unsupervised in the Uchiha library for some reason, but I trusted her enough that she wouldn't cause any trouble. Besides, I gave her a task to learn as much as possible to help me locate my family's eyes. I was sure my family library had some useful information regarding the Konoha research department.
"Be my guest. But I'm locking the door. That's my condition."
"Okay." Karin headed to one corridor and started looking, firstly checking the number and alphabetic order.
With that taken care of, I left the library not before making sure the doors were closed and made a mental note to bring her some snacks after a couple of hours. She deserved a small reward for her efforts, after all.
Fu should also be studying with her, but I would not put pressure on her as long as she produced results on her own.
With the library behind, I headed to my room.
"Hey Uchiha!" Or tried, since an obnoxious voice stopped in my tracks and slowly turned to see Suigetsu approaching me with his smirk.
"What do you want?"
He didn't hesitate to invade my personal space and sneak an arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer and taking me to another place."After almost picking a fight with all of Konoha, I realized we haven't trained your kenjutsu in a while. My moves will come in handy if that ever happens."
I could have easily broken away from his grip, but I opted to bid my time.
"That's true. Our current situation didn't allow me to think about training, instead just trying to keep us alive." The stress it caused exhausted Karin.
"Can't blame you. But now we have all the time in the world….I think." Suigetsu wasn't wrong to falter at the end. I did suggest the possibility of Akatsuki attacking Konoha in the future after all.
"I have nothing better to do." I shrugged. It would be shameful to declare my plan to waste my time on my bed staring at the roof for a while, but since he presented me with an opportunity to perfect my skills, of course, I would take it.
"Sweet. We need to refine those swings and then teach you a couple of moves to break your opponent." He poked my chest. I grabbed his hand and removed it from my shoulder as I pushed him away, causing him to cackle.
"When you say break my opponents, you mean their wills or bones?" I asked as I fixed my shirt. It was a good thing that he didn't leave a wet patch where he touched or I would have punched him in the face.
"Both." He looked at me with a wicked grin.
Reaching the training room, I slid the door open and was surprised to find it occupied by none other than our jinchuuriki, who had a blunt sword in her hands doing verticals attacks as if she was wielding a wood cutting axe.
"Oh, hey girl." Suigetsu called out as he passed me and made her stop her swings.
"Ummm… I just wanted to practice a bit." She greeted as she resumed her wild swinging.
Action that greatly displeased my psychotic teammate after a couple of swings. Who clapped his hands to get her attention and stopped her from continuing again.
"You lack technique. Better said, you technique is trash. I've seen toddlers doing a better job than you. Besides, that's not how you hold a sword and much less that's how you stand while holding one." Suigetsu snatched the training sword from Fu's hands as she didn't give any fight and then scrutinized the blade.
"I didn't peg you to be a kenjutsu user." I finally spoke up.
Fu shook her head. "I use an elemental sword, water to be exact, so I thought it would be the same."
"Well, you aren't wrong that they are the same when it comes to the basics, but elemental chakra swords are different. Do you mind if I teach her first? I don't want to fight you and being distracted by her garbage kenjutsu." The shark boy returned the sword back to her.
"Don't mind me, I might learn something useful for you for once." I moved to one cushion outside the designated training area and sat.
"Heh, you finally admit that you know shit about kenjutsu."
"Finish your brief lesson and I will show you how much I know." I challenged him, my eyes narrowing, waiting for his reply.
"You are on." Suigetsu smirked before turning his attention to his new student.
He was quick to correct Fu's stance, moving her feet away from each other and straightening her back and moving, setting her head straight.
Then had her do vertical cuts.
Whenever she failed to maintain her posture, he used his weapon to lightly hit her back. Same with her feet if she failed to keep them still or her elbows if they moved out of place.
He was quite strict as a teacher, but at least he wasn't canning her with a stick. It took Fu a while to finally do one vertical cut without getting reprimanded and getting Suigetsu's approval.
"You should train your arms more. Maybe a couple of hundreds of push-ups might do the trick. But for now, just keep practicing this move for today so we can move on to the next one tomorrow."
And Suigetsu gained a new disciple. At least I knew Fu wouldn't end up as psychotic as him.
The white-haired boy turned to me with a smirk and pointed his weapon at me. "Ready?"
"I'm always ready." I chuckled as I stood up.
I flexed my neck a bit to the sides before allowing my sharingan to flare up. I was going to get a lot of sadistic glee from beating the cockiness out of him.
"Sharingan? You really want to copy my moves, don't you?"
"Does it matter?" A smug smile graced my lips. Two could play the same game of cocky asshole.
The swordsman shrugged. "You will learn either way."
He threw the practice sword at me like a kunai as soon as he finished his comment. Knowing his little game, I sidestepped his attack and brought up my dulled blade in time to connect with his air attack that came crashing down with all his weight.
It was a good thing that my family used top quality metals to forge it or his attack would have broken my weapon and in consequences actually connected with my body. Unless the bastard was already aware of it hence he attacked with such strength.
However, I could still push him away and use the small window of time to throw away my dull weapon and pull out one of the kiba blades. Since he was using his butcher sword to practice, I had every right to use my own legendary sword to defend myself.
My sharingan quickly picked up his next attack coming from below but rather than dodge it, I parried his attack, giving me a small opening to close the distance and throw a punch at his face.
My fist connected with his right cheek, but not because he didn't see it coming, but because the asshole was made of water and only caused water to splash on my face and clothes.
I am going to fry this bastard.
Omake 2:
"What the hell?"
Those were the only words that came out of my mouth the second I opened my eyes and saw my surroundings were completely different. From an ordinary room to a hospital hallway was a drastic change, after all.
More so because I didn't remember ever moving or feeling sick. But i did feel sleepy so perhaps I was having a vivid dream.
"Are you ready, Sasuke?" The very well known girl with short pink hair known as Sakura Haruno stood in front of me holding a chart.
"Ready for what Sakura?" I asked, rather confused but still willing to follow whatever the dream wanted to show me. Though I was surprised to be dreaming as Sasuke Uchiha, maybe if the dream allowed me more time I would start spamming all the cool moves and jutsus for shit and giggles.
"Don't be silly. I know it must be nerve-wracking, but it will be fine. Trust me and Tsunade-sama's medical skills."
"Lead the way?" I dusted off my pants and shirt.
Sakura smiled and turned around. Taking her sweet time walking to the room we were supposed to be in.
We arrived at the door but it had a key difference from the rest as next to it had a big sign telling it was a room for pregnant mothers. That was beyond strange, a red flag, if you could call it that.
"Take deep breaths and relax." Sakura's suggestion only confused me even more, but it was clear something was waiting behind that door and I couldn't pinpoint exactly why would I need to enter a consulting room or why would I be nervous to be there,
I had to dismiss those doubts and enter the door to finally find the answers.
However, my body froze on the spot the second my eyes landed on a big black-and-white screen showing the shape of a baby in development.
"Sasuke look!" A very well known hyperactive and cheerful voice broke my attention away from the screen.
"Congratulations, you two. Is a boy." Tsunade spoke from her desk but her presence didn't matter as I finally saw who was connected to the machine.
The blonde idiot, Naruto Uzumaki, was lying on an ultrasound bed with the machine connected to his impossibly big naked belly.
He had a warm smile, with tears running down his cheeks. "We will have a big family Sasuke-kun."
"What. The. FUCK." I frantically checked my surroundings and saw a large window.
I did the most sensible thing.
And jumped out the window, ignoring everyone calling out my name.
I want to wake up from this fucking nightmare.
AN: I never read mpreg stories nor I will, but still wondering how they even give birth, like hyenas?
Anyway, first things first.
Thank you so much for the 2k favs that tell me how much you like the story and that makes me happy. That's why I wrote a small omake. We are getting close to half the story that I've planned.
The only problem I had when finishing this chapter was that a new idea struck me and didn't stop pestering me until I wrote all of it down and exhausted all the ideas into a new fic. So yeah new fic incoming, but is not Naruto is another fandom which many of you are probably fans even with the… fuck ups of the last season.
Pretty sure you all will like it.
