Hi pups, Wow another new story from me, I seem to do this when I go on Hiatus, though this one was being developed on and off for about a year or two so I might as well give the people something before I finally work on OBTS again, and Konosuba is my all time favorite anime, let's see how the story I make with them goes.

GOW - Konosuba

Aqua was never one to put much effort into a task, why should she after all goddesses have others to do those tasks even in heaven she would just send heroes or reincarnated losers off to do her work, which brought her to look at her party, something she never thought she'd have, most specifically Kazuma, the last no life loser she sent to a fantasy world so she could meet the reincarnation quota how after all would she ever keep her job secure from upstarts if she couldn't keep the quota? Her eyes lingered on him as he helped feed Megumin, her body limp after casting a rather large explosion. The Archwizard lay more or less limp with small tear tracks staining her cheeks and a sniffle escaping her big smile now and then.

Aqua wasn't sure what Kazuma did with her and while she'd normally make fun of him for the state Megumin was in she didn't due to the good mood she found herself in after all the battle with Wolbach ended amazingly, they beat the general and made it home without any problems thanks to her fantastic masonry and Kazuma's leadership.

He could be useful now and then, even if he is a terrible no-good loser most of the time. Aqua thought with a small ache before forcing the thoughts away. She couldn't let herself think of Kazuma in too good a light after all, sure he kept her fed, gave her money, bailed her out, and was probably her best friend in the whole mortal realm, but she couldn't bring herself to think about his good traits.

Not with what she did to him.

Not after she lied to him.

"Hey Aqua, what's with the long face?" The subject of her turmoil asked, she thought about coming clean, she thought about it every time he did something impressive because keeping that secret hurt, but she knew he'd be upset if she ever told him the truth.

So she couldn't.

"I'm fine Kazuma, just wondering why we don't have any good sauces to go with this delicious food." She said taking a bite out of her sandwich.

"You keep purifying all our sauces so we ran out, I still need to get some more once we get back to Axel," Kazuma said with a frown.

"W-well it's alright it's all still so good," Aqua said taking another hasty bite, Kazuma rolled his eyes and a small smile grew on his face as the party went back to its meal settling into idle chatter and Aqua could forget her guilt once more.

GOW - KONOSUBA!

"We gather here today to say goodbye to a young man cut down before his time. His life ended before achievements could be named to him, barring one the saving of a girl his own age." The pastor spoke.

He wore a tidy black suit as he stood in front of the few people who showed up for this event next to a covered picture.

It took a while for a proper funeral to happen, different things needed to be straightened out, an investigation launched, and a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone involved, not least of all a girl at the funeral. She wore a simple black dress and put her brown hair in a braid going down to her shoulder, she was dressed simply and respectfully as she sat bawling her eyes out, especially at the mention of how her hero died.

"And while his death fills a hole in many, we know his sacrifice was not in vain as he was able to save the life of another," More tears burst forth from the girl.

"Bullshit!" a voice cut through, everyone whipped their eyes around and the parents of the departed widened their eyes as they saw who came forward. She was wearing black jeans and a black tee shirt, had black hair and brown eyes, and her hair was unkept grown down below her shoulders with a frown donned on her lips. "This bitch shouldn't have been in the way it's her fault he died!"

"Kana! Show some respect for once in your life" the mother of the deceased cried.

"You shouldn't be here, he wouldn't want you here." The father said, his voice cold and hollow.

"You think I want to be here? None of us should have to be here for his death but because of her we have to be." The newcomer, Kana, spat, causing the young lady to burst into a new fit of tears. "Stop that you bitch, it's your fault he died!" Kana cried, rushing the other girl.

GOW - KONOSUBA

Kana blinked, It was bright for a moment, but now she was surrounded by what she could only think of as the cosmos, Looking down she saw a marble white chair under her.

"Kana, Sumi," someone began, Kana snapped her head up and saw a similar chair facing her filled with a petite woman clad in a simple yet refined white dress that stopped just above her ankles with white wings folded up behind her and a golden halo above her short blonde hair, her head moved to the side and, the bitch was there. "I regret to inform you both that you have now passed on."

"H-how?" The bitch, Sumi, asked in a whisper, her eyes still puffy.

"Ah yes, death does tend to leave the mind when you pass, At the funeral you both were attending, when Kana began the altercation you both tumbled into the tombstone of the deceased while grappling, cracking it and both your skulls in the process." The angel, because what else could she be? Said to them a few tears pricking against her eyes. "You were of course both rushed to the hospital, but with the blood loss and the time it took for anyone with medical training to get near I'm afraid you young ladies succumbed to the injury."

"That, that's it? After my life was saved, it comes to an end so soon?" Sumi says with tears pricking her eyes.

"In your world yes, both of you have now passed and may move on, to heaven, or be reborn into your world for one of you," the angel says with a look at Sumi before her gaze moves to Kana. "Or hell for the other lest you wish to try again to become a better person," figures, Kana supposed, she never did live the best life, she lied got into fits, and even hurt the person she cared about the most without a second thought, she deserved punishment and she knew it. "however both of you do have another option." The angel finished.

"What?" Both girls breathed out.

"As your world lives so do others, and one of which houses a terrible evil, the world is threatened by a Devil king fighting against humanity with his army of monsters, many of the people wish to not return slowing birth rates, so we request aid from others, to join the world to help humanity fight back, if you choose to go you will go as you are, given a gift from the gods to aid you upon this quest, would you help this world and fight the evil that plages it?"

The girls were speechless at the angel's words, a new world? This sounded like something out of a fantasy game, Kana knew that her former friend would be there if he was given the chance but why was she chosen?

"Which one did he pick?" Sumi asked, Before the angel could open her mouth Kana spoke.

"You've done enough with him bitch, just get reborn and be done with him.

"Which one did he pick," Sumi asked again, determination in her voice.

"I'm afraid I need to know who you're referring to to give you an answer Mrs. Sumi."

Both girls took a breath and spoke as one "Sato Kazuma, the one whose funeral we died at."

The angel had a small look of surprise, "him? He chose reincarnation into the other world,"

"Then I want to go there, I owe it to him," Sumi said.

"I'm going there but I want the bitch left out of there, Kazuma doesn't need to be killed a second time because of her." Kana spat.

"We don't know what he's going through he could need my help," Sumi responded

"I may not be able to divulge too much information about Mr. Sato's stay in Belzerg, but I will tell you, ladies, he hasn't had the easiest life down there, I only know about some of his activities being brought to the attention of the higher-ups, it was a debacle, to say the least, but he has the watchful eyes of two goddesses as he makes his journey." The angel said, she was hesitating at times though,

'That means that something's worse than she wants to let one, but what could you have gotten yourself into Kazuma?' Kana thought

The girls sat in silence, their faces showed them clearly deep in thought as the same thoughts crossed their minds.

A moment of silence occurred, the thoughts and options weighed back and forth in the minds of both young ladies as they saw the paths before them.

"I don't care what's happened or who is supposed to be watching him, I am going to that world and I will keep Kazuma safe!" Both girls said at once.

"Wonderful, now we just need to get some things out of the way, it shouldn't take long," The angel said with a smile as massive piles of papers appeared in the girl's laps causing them to pale.

GOW - KONOSUBA!

Kana and Sumi took a deep breath as the girls found themselves on a cobble road in what looked like an old town

"Wow, this really does look just like one of his fantasy games." Kana muttered, Sumi looked at her new 'companion' with hesitation, this lady had just contributed to both of their deaths, but the man who saved her life was in this world somewhere, and somehow, she knew him too.

"How do you know Kazuma?" Sumi inquired, more to herself than her companion but the words still reached Kana who froze in place.

"None of your damn business." Kana spat with malice dripping from her voice.

"Seeing as we're here together looking for him, I think it is my business," Sumi said, her own voice hardening in response to her new companion.

"His killer doesn't deserve to be here, Just leave him alone and I'll make sure he's safe this time," Kana said with a scowl.

"I owe him my life," Sumi snapped, "if he didn't push me out of the way of that truck then I'd have been dead, even if you killed me anyways I owe him for the chance he gave me and I intend to repay that debt."

The girls glared at each other before giving a huff. "Alright then little Miss Life Debt, how about we join forces to find him and let him decide who he'd rather spend time with?" Kana said.

"I suppose that is the only form of compromise we can achieve, Very well for his sake I will work with you," Sumi said, internally she was nervous about the deal, what if Kazuma preferred this barbarian over her company? Surely the man who saved her life wouldn't associate with Kana once hearing how he took the life he saved, right?

Sumi thought back to what his parents said, They didn't have a kind thing to say about him, They tried to hide that fact but it was obvious to her that they were ashamed of how he lived, and while it was a waste of potential surely he had to be a good man, he saved her life and she intended to use the life given to her to help he become better than it was back home

She owed her knight in shining armor that much at least.

GOW - Konosuba

a little context to explain this fic I'm running with two pieces the first is the theory that Aqua lied about Kazuma's death, and the second is focused on Kazuma's reflections in Book 5, I thought that they could make a good story together, though I guess you'll be the judge of that hopefully you enjoyed the chapter and if you did, I have a discord, you can yell at me to work on stuff there and of course like/kudos comment follow/bookmark if you enjoy
