The cyborg moved first, already on top of Ken and Kiryu much to their shock. Reaching out for the weakest of them at that moment. Kiryu managed to leap out of the way just barely while Ken made for a quick left jab that connected, but didn't do much as it turned on him instead. Ken took a gut punch that sent him sprawling away.

Kiryu skidded backward, managing to stop only for him to launch himself back toward the mechanical menace. He cocked his fist back and prepared to nail the cyborg in the face only to end up feigning at the last moment and lifting his leg instead. Kiryu was surprised as not only did the thing catch his foot, but ended up pulling Kiryu in for a direct fist to his nose. Spinning out of control and blood pouring from his face, his hopes were already beginning to dwindle. They were completely outmatched by this thing.

Slamming through the wall, Kiryu smacked into the floor and bounced up to only continue toward the next wall. His momentum completely stopped by yet another slab of metal. He moved his hands to his face to try and stop the bleeding to no avail. Kiryu tried getting up, but ended up feeling an incredible amount of pain shoot through his core.

On the other side of the wall, Ken could hear Kiryu scream in agony. Coughing up blood, he forced himself up. Stumbling into some halfway fighting stance. His vision began to blur from the pain. The machine was already moving toward him much to his chagrin. Huffing as he tried to regain his breath while leaping out of the way of the next strike. The machine was just too fast. Ken yelped in pain as he was sent barreling to the side with just a mere slap.

Yet that hit was almost harder than the one from before. His eyes were glazing over and his body was surely going to lose consciousness before Ken could help anyone, 'This is my fault… I should have…' He fell to the ground. Completely out of the fight. The cyborg seemed to be eyeing the saiyan teen with a monotonous glance. Then began to move toward the unconscious saiyan to finish the job.

A piece of metal smacked off the robotic teens head much to its lack of surprise. It looked over to see Kiryu's bloody face and his arm still hanging out in the air from throwing the shrapnel, "He's not dying!" Kiryu yelled out as he powered up again, much to the cyborg's indifference.

"The order doesn't matter." The machine replied as it moved toward Kiryu.

Kiryu was scared, horrified even yet his mind pushed his body forward. He raised his fist, the energy he had left filled and even surrounded it in a great glow. Closing his eyes and charging forward, Kiryu yelled in defiance at his inevitable death. Just as the cyborg was about to finish off the young boy, It stopped to look at the open door of the room. Seeing something familiar, it showed visible emotion for a moment.

Completely forgetting Kiryu, it felt the last bit of fire the boy had left as Kiryu's fist connected with its face. Just as that happened, the cyborg's body crumpled backward and sent spiraling through the wall just behind it. Kiryu flopped to the floor, barely breathing, yet his head was turned sideways and his eyes were open just enough to see his successful strike.

The last thought rushed to Kiryu's head while his injuries finally caught up with him, 'I… did that?' He questioned himself as he too finally passed out from exhaustion. With the trio knocked out, another being floated into the room. The machine opposite of him was already picking itself up. Though the damage was still significant and some of its pieces looked visibly marred from the attack. Looking at the new figure in the room. The cyborg's eyes widened.

"What are you doing here? Did you finish the others off as per the orders of the mistress?" It asked the machine opposite of him.

"I don't follow that chain of command anymore." He lowered his outstretched hand that had just sent the other cyborg flying and turned to the three laying on the floor before looking back at the cyborg, "And neither should you, Ruchel."

Xeno had just saved Kiryu's life. But now he was faced with the one thing that Athena would taunt him with. Leaving alive an old friend and keeping him in a perfectly realized form. Ruchel looked like he hadn't aged a bit. It truly horrified Xeno who was also saddened by this realization.

Ruchel looked at Xeno, "I don't know who that is. I am designated, RD-005" Xeno looked a bit frustrated at that.

Xeno narrowed his eyes, 'So, she's giving him my last name like some kind of joke?" He gritted his teeth with malice, 'Athena!' Xeno's anger was roaring like blood in his ears if he had any.

"Come back to your senses or I'll beat them into you!" He yelled as RD-005 picked itself up off the floor. An incredible force rippled out from RD-005's body as the machine lifted up off the ground and blasted toward Xeno with murderous intent.

RD-005 had blitzed past Xeno in that moment, but just as the cyborg prepared to assault him the body struggled, falling forward yet unable to fully hit the floor. His twitching head turned to see that Xeno had struck him several times up the side of his body. Visible indentations up the side of his body made him spasm in pain, but his legs forced himself up.

"I see that you've struck me many times before I could ever notice." RD-005 said while preparing to strike again.

Xeno stood on his one leg and lowered himself to the ground while balancing his body to prepare for the next strike. Ruchel rippled forward once, but as Xeno countered. He leapt to the side in a feint of sorts and then swung his leg out to catch Xeno off guard. Xeno flipped backwards in midair landing his one leg and skidding just slightly before coming to a complete stop. Ruchel then charged a power ball in his hand and charged toward Xeno.

Xeno's eyes widened as he flashed energy in his palm as well and crashed his hand into RD-005's. Both of the energy balls clashed and then an explosion split them apart. Xeno slid backwards, but RD-005 was sent flying much further away.

'Now!' Xeno blitzed back toward RD-005 appearing above him much to Ruchel's surprise. Xeno cupped his fists together and proceeded to slam them into Ruchel's skull. Ruchel's eyes blanked out and he was sent crashing through the floor below. He even kept flying through the next few floors in quick succession.

'I hope that's enough…' Xeno thought to himself as he floated above the impact zone. Turning away from the hole in the floor, he focused back on the children lying unconscious on the floor.

'They've fought well enough to make it here.' His attention moved to the other lifeforms that were behind a door to the right of himself. Floating over, he opened it with a click. Twelve children were huddled in a circle on the floor in a cell. Thinking back to what Raze had said, Xeno moved quickly to free them.

They were reluctant to move though. The children had been through plenty at this point. So, Xeno didn't bother to coax them out. They reminded Xeno of the villagers he hadn't been able to save. Wind began to blow up through the hole directly behind him at this moment as RD-005 floated up from the bottom, Xeno turned toward him.

"I'm sorry, Xeno." The machine said to him which shocked him to the core.

When he and Xen had locked eyes, Xeno saw something was a bit different about the teen before him. A reluctance had taken hold of RD-005; it seemed, 'So, a hard enough hit does work… Raze, thank you for coming here.' Xeno shelved those thoughts for a different time, Ruchel was beginning to speak.

"I don't have any time left." Ruchel said as Xeno was taken aback.

"W- What do you mean?!" He questioned the boy as he turned away.

His arm began to evaporate much to Xeno's shock, 'No… Not another.' Ruchel smiled with oil like tears beginning to form in his eyelids.

"Thanks, Xeno. I thought that I'd never see you again." His body floated from the hole, but then fell to the floor. Xeno leaped to his aid. He picked up Ruchel's torso, holding him as his body began to melt down.

"Just hold on, maybe you can make-" He was stopped as Ruchel shook his head causing Xeno to tremble, "But I can't lose you a second time."

"It's okay… After what happened. I think it was fated…" He trailed off as his face began to melt down.

Xeno felt Ruchel's body beginning to slip through his fingers as it broke down before him. His fingers twitched as he clutched them, looking to hold onto something. Yet, Ruchel was already gone. Everything Xeno had been through flashed in his mind and it didn't feel real. His thoughts turned red and then he looked to the kids behind him.

He tried to push himself up, but something seared into his mind, 'Kill them. That's an order.' Next to him, Athena appeared to be speaking to him again. Time. He was running out of time, his sanctity was being lost again.

She grinned to another person, "Isn't this one interesting, Master?" She asked as the other person made an appearance.

A gleaming hand and an emotionless visage graced them both. Xeno remembered who this man was, Sebastian had been the one propagating the kidnappings. Clear as day, Xeno's anger couldn't take hold. He felt the urge to kill. Looking at the kids once again, the outside world seemed to blur.

XD-001 was awake, it was time, 'Mistress has made an order.' It was already floating toward them.

Sebastian spoke, "I do like a good experiment. We'll make him into a perfect slave." XD-001 was leaking oil from his eyes just as Ruchel had before him.

"Ooooohh… Let me keep him for my use." Athena said as Sebastian waved it off.

"Consider it done. I'll have no use for him once my plans start." Sebastian looked off in the distance. Thinking about his next moves. He would conquer this planet easily, nothing would get in his way.

He continued, "In fact, I'm a gracious man." He turned to his favorite creation, cupping her cheek in his hand as she blushed, "You can keep this facility once it's done. Become something great, Athena." Together they stood on the top of the tower next to the defeated Xeno. Ruchel laid on the ground gripping his torso in obvious pain just to the left.

"I will kill them." It said to nobody in particular. Picking up Kira, who was the closest to XD-001 at that moment. XD-001 didn't notice that her brother was beginning to stir from his fit of unconsciousness. It being ever so oblivious began to move its right hand into a flat position, energy glowed around said hand. XD-001 pulled it back and made a stabbing motion sending it toward the knocked out child's stomach. The kids inside the cage looked on in horror. The thing that had just been their hero was now quite literally the inverse.

"NO!" Ken's eyes widened, having woken up fully in time to see what was about to happen, but XD-001 had stopped just as it had almost pierced straight through Kira.

In the mind of the machine before him, a familiar hand had grabbed his right arm. It was a gentle grip, but a familiar one at that, 'Ruchel…' Ruchel shook his head as XD-001 understood, but Athena pushed on his right shoulder.

"Kill her, do it my creation." She egged XD-001 on while its arm began to shake.

"You can't, you wouldn't do that!" Ruchel said to him as he continued, "Come back Xeno." Xeno felt his sanity trying to return once again, but the tearing of his mind was between both of these people. The compelling thoughts that came to it from the control of Athena and the reason from Ruchel were hurting him deeply. Ken was twitching as he willed his body to move. Feeling incredible dread made him look up, but everything he could see was blurred. Still, he managed to see his sister through the haze. Finally, he sprung into action or at least the action he could do at this very moment.

"STOP! My head can't take it!" Xeno roared while Kira still was limp in its hand.

Ken's injuries were howling for him to stop as he tried to crawl over to XD-001. His heart was beating so rapidly that Ken thought he might die from this exertion. He felt a burst of energy trying to blaze up from within, but wasn't sure how to force it out.

'I can't let him do this!' His mind continued to pester him while he crawled with everything he had.

The sensation of ki flowing was growing ever more intense. The air was heavy. Ken could hardly breathe while seeing his sister in the grip of the cyborg. Kira's life was hanging on a thread and he was still the same powerless teen who'd let her get taken before. He had listened to Kiryu and her plan getting them stuck in a horrible situation when he could have left with them both. His mind was turning for all intents and purposes, a horrid shade of red as it fiercely lit him up with a light he'd never known.

He stood firm on his feet and let it out, "LET GO OF MY SISTER!" The roar wasn't the most impressive for a teen, but it broke XD-001 out of its stupor. A golden aura burst forth and his hair stood up, rage becoming a silhouette as Ken gave a fierce glare in the direction of his sister's tormentor. Ken's body was intensely aggressive; all the markings of a beast were there, but Xeno was still battling for his mind while halfway paying attention to all the fanfare.

Ken wasn't sure what was happening and with his mind so fixated on one emotion it left him with only one thought; to bring his sister to safety. He leapt forward and sliced down with his arm, severing the machine's arm. XD-001's mind was so clouded; it couldn't counter this attack. Ken caught Kira and disappeared only to reappear next to Kiryu. He put her down next to his newfound friend. Staring back at XD-001, he was going to try and end this quickly if he could.

Ken ran toward the machine, lifting his left arm and throwing a punch, but this time XD-001 was more focused. With its remaining fist it smashed into Ken's who was sent backward from the force of the shockwave. Ken's fist twitched in abject pain as his knuckles seemed to split open, blood seeping out of the wound.

"AGH!" He let out as XD-001 took this opportunity to use its last remaining leg to slam the child in the chest. Ken's sternum vibrated inside as a few ribs broke from the sheer force of the blow. Ken's power meant nothing in this moment as a heavy blast of air sent him flying through the outer wall and tumbling from the building toward the ground below at high velocity.

Just as Ken thought, 'It's over…' His blond hair faded out as his fall continued.

XD-001 looked from above and prepared to fire a ki blast of his own in order to assure its victory. However, this was not in the cards. An alabaster arm shot from the darkness behind the cyborg, completely cutting off its movement. Unable to do much more than look back, it saw a bright namekian walking forward.

"Don't even try anything." Brass said while XD-001 tried struggling, but due to its missing limbs. The effort was futile.

Meanwhile Ken was floating upward. Which confused him because Ken was sure that he'd been falling a moment ago. Ken's eyes, which had been dazed from all the pain he'd been receiving up until that moment cleared up just enough to see Raze with a soft smile on his face.

Ken gasped, "Mister…. Raze…" He could barely speak more than that.

"It's alright Ken. You did good. We'll work everything out later." He looked up at Xeno.

Ken could feel Brass exerting much more power than he had ever done until that point. It was astounding to him just how lucky he'd been to meet these people. XD-001 was pulled back by Brass very easily as Raze landed in the newly formed hole in the side of the building.

Brass smirked at the weak attempt to escape his grasp, "What do you think we should do about this guy?" He asked his compatriot.

Raze shrugged, "Just hit him really hard." Raze finished as Brass grinned, cracking his knuckles until Raze continued, "But not so hard that it kills him." He said with a laugh, holding his hands up with a sweatdrop evident on his forehead.

"Tsk… That's no fun." Brass complained as XD-001 began to struggle quite a bit more in his grip. It was no use, XD-001 was well tied up.

Brass began to reel the machine in much to its horror if that emotion were able to be evident upon its face. Brass just kept smiling while his other fist clenched harder and harder while the cyborg got closer and closer.

Raze, Ken, and the children inside the cage flinched away as several cracks were heard. Raze nervously opened his eyes to see that Xeno was sporting a few new dents. Brass meanwhile had an extremely satisfied grin on his face.

"Oh. Hello Raze. What happened here?" Xeno asked as Raze sighed.

Raze looked down at Ken, but he was already passed out from the pain and trauma at this point, so he looked back at Xeno, "I'll try to explain while we get all these kids out of here." Raze walked over to the cage while holding onto Ken before letting out yet another sigh, "Actually, I can't explain this. I just got here…" He stated while Brass let out a frustrated grunt.

Xeno turned to him, "Why does it feel like I've been hit by a train?" He asked the Namekian who just shrugged.

"I don't know." He stated while Raze did his best to coax out the kids still huddled in a corner.

"Hey! It's okay now. It's all over. We're going to take you guys to a safe place." He held out his free hand, "You all just have to take the first step." They looked at him with a fearful gaze, but he gave them a warm smile.

The sun looked to be setting from the hole in the building. It made Raze glow a bit in their eyes and that's when one boy grit his teeth. Clambering up to his feet, he walked shakily toward the saiyan. Reaching out with his right hand toward one of their savior's.

Raze chuckled as he gripped the hand of the first child, "That's it. Glad to make your acquaintance." The child smiled as the others began to finally accept this new reality. A reality free from the nightmare that had plagued them for the last few months.

One of them said, "Kira was right… Someone did come!" Then it was joined by plenty of other voices of excitement that hadn't been expressed in so long that maybe even they had forgotten how to be uplifting.

Brass was already picking up Kira and Kiryu who appeared to still be knocked out. He then walked over to Raze who gladly handed him Ken. Brass then turned to Xeno, "Make sure he doesn't do anything questionable, Raze. I'm going to get the ship. Also, take care of our guest that I threw in the hallway over there." He was about to head off as Raze seemed to laugh.

"What's so funny?" Raze was still chuckling a bit as he got himself to calm down.

"Trying to give me orders over here? Don't you know the rule?" Raze stated as Brass grinned back.

"I'm going to ignore that. This is all for the money after all. But if you want to rough her up… I'm even more for that." Xeno's eyes widened as he looked toward the hall.

Raze sighed and gave in, "Okay, but I'd prefer she stayed in the hall. Of course, we can't let her be because she could escape." Xeno started to float toward the hall as Brass nodded and jumped out into the open air to fly toward the capsule ship.

Raze disappeared from where he had been to reappear next to Xeno, "What're you doing?" He asked Xeno who gave him a narrow look.

"I'm killing her now while she can't do anything." He said simply, but Raze interjected by getting between Xeno and the open hall.

Holding out his hands wide, Raze started, "She's going to be put behind bars. Likely to rot for the rest of her existence. If you kill her, you'll be saving her from that suffering." Raze finished as Xeno's memories flashed through his mind of all the people Athena and Sebastian had killed.

"You might have justice on your mind, Raze. I however, don't want her to hurt anyone ever again. I don't even want Athena to have a chance to do it." Raze was unmoved by Xeno's words which caused him to become quite a bit more angry, "Are you really going to stand in my way?" The children who were watching this began to think about everything that had happened to them along the way and even though they were scared of the machine standing before them. They kind of agreed with what he said.

The first child spoke up, "You can't defend her!" Raze turned to him with a bit of shock evident on his face.

"Huh?" He questioned as the boy continued.

"She locked us in that place for so long and even killed a lot of my friends…" Tears began to roll down his cheeks as he kept forcing it out, "Just let him do it! For them!" He yelled at the saiyan as the others surrounding the child began to nod and even cheer for that end.

Xeno knew others had been taken in, but he wasn't sure for how long. These kids must've been the more recent ones. He turned back to Raze, "Come on, you should step away. I'm doing this for them!" He pointed at the kids standing behind them both, "I'm doing this not just for that, but every person who died because of those filthy murderers!" Xeno tried floating forward, but Raze held firm.

Raze looked down with a feeling akin to shame running through his body, 'We're only doing this for money… Can I really stand in the way of a man that has lost everything to these vile people?' Raze remembered his own path that he had followed that led him to this place. If he hadn't gone through hell to end up right where he is… Would he be the man he has become now and for that matter; Would these kids not all have died regardless with Xeno never finding his humanity in any possible way ever again?

He looked up as another voice spoke from the hallway, "Sure!" Athena yelled, "Come kill me! If you dare!" Raze could hear her struggling with the capture device currently holding her to the floor. Xeno's eyes widened as his rage flared up again, but Raze patted him on the shoulder.

"She's only saying that to make you kill her so she doesn't face justice. Is giving in and doing what she wants really the way?" He asked Xeno who shook his head in frustration, but Raze didn't relent, "You'd be just as awful as her and Sebastian!" Raze yelled as Xeno gritted his teeth.

"You think rotting in a jail will make up for the death of every person living in my village?" He asked the saiyan who shook his head.

"No. It probably wouldn't, but it could be a start." He responded while Xeno merely turned away.

~Meanwhile~

Brass flew over the desert, heading in the ship's direction. He was carrying the badly injured saiyans in his arms all the while. His mind kept flitting back and forth between making sure that he got paid to also getting the runts healed up.

This would be his first payday in a long while if everything went without a hitch, 'Then I'll be one step closer to my goals.'

Sand dunes passed by beneath him at a blistering pace. Looking at the radar from the safety of his helmet, Brass found that he was closing in on the ship already.

Looking at Ken, Kira, and the other child he held in his arms, he wondered, 'We have to not only feed two more saiyans, but a third? Not to mention the extras…' He was once again getting frustrated at the constant back and forth of his grievances.

The cost of healing pod fluid was high and the cost of food was going to be even higher. Soon he'd have to become a criminal if he kept going with Raze for much longer, 'I still don't know how I came to such an agreement.' He secretly knew, but speaking to himself was a natural thing and denying things to himself was also part of these conversations.

His mind kept throwing the word "Respect" around. Brass wanted to shake his head at such a preposterous thought, yet he couldn't. Their first fight was astounding and such a performance begged for respect.

The world seemed to transform around him as his mind called back to that time. He saw himself and Raze sitting back to back next to a tree. Far too tired to continue moving. Covered in blood stains, cuts, you name it. The landscape around the area was massacred by their grand battle. As wounded as they were, the land appeared scarred as well.

Brass was breathing heavily as he spoke, "That was incredible! Hagh!" He hacked a bit as he pushed through the pain, "Raze, I would have killed you with that last move… How did you get around me so quickly?"

Raze grinned, not that Brass could see it. His mind could feel the jubilance coming off the saiyan warrior as he replied, "Trademark secret!" He coughed a bit as he spat up blood, "To be honest, I think I was very lucky. If you'd caught me a second sooner, that plan probably wouldn't have worked."

Raze had been pushed to his limits and found himself growing around it. That was only possible due to the namekian currently sitting behind him. He knew talent when he saw it, but Brass knew that there was something different about the saiyan as well. It intrigued them both to be finding such competent people in this universe. Raze found himself being reminded of a person he'd lost a long while back.

Brass chuckled and then gritted his teeth trying to remain strong despite letting down his defenses for a moment, "What's your next plan? I don't intend to let you leave." Brass said as he felt a familiar grin appear on the saiyan's face.

"Why don't you team up with me?" Raze asked the namekian much to his surprise.

Despite that surprise, Brass didn't let it show, "Tch! You're just being desperate to avoid being brought in. Why would I join you?" He asked the saiyan who turned to look into the sky above.

"What have you got to lose?" Raze asked him in return to which Brass didn't immediately retort which prompted Raze to continue, "We're just two bounty hunters sitting here with a possibility of death on our front doorsteps. Why fight again? We could achieve much greater heights together." Raze finished as he began to fall to the side.

Hitting the ground, Raze fell out while Brass stayed up. The sun was beginning to set as Brass was left with his decision to make. It was getting cold slowly and though he hadn't moved yet. Brass felt the sudden need to do so. So, he got up to his feet, turning to Raze to see he was indeed knocked out. Brass moved his left hand to his own pocket, pulling out a piece of paper.

He rolled it out to see a bounty he'd seen multiple times and of course, Raze's face upon it. He'd had conversations with many bounty hunters before about why this wanted poster seemed to stick the test of time. They all gave mixed opinions like he must be strong, the few who had interacted with the warrior themselves said he was not even worth that small amount. Then some said that there was something about this guy.

Brass looked back to Raze in reality before looking back at the poster in his hand. The sun was close to completely disappearing beneath the mountains in the distance as Brass crumpled the paper in his hand. He had work to do.

A few hours would pass as Raze would finally stir awake. He felt warm as his eyes began to open to find a blurry dance of orange before him. Smelling and seeing fish on sticks surrounding an open fire, he immediately hopped up. He also noticed the namekian staring at him with an amused glance that hardened quickly upon being seen.

"Thanks!" Raze said while putting his hands together and bowing to the namekian.

"Yeah… Whatever." Brass had already drank his share of water, yet watching as Raze took two of the fishes and began to eat like a rabid animal began to repulse him.

"Hey! Chew your food properly, it's not going to run away!" He started as Raze looked over with wide eyes and nodded before beginning to refine himself quickly. Brass relaxed as Raze began to eat slower.

"So, why all this?" Raze asked between chewing as Brass realized that a little refinement wouldn't stop someone from talking while eating.

"No reason…" There was a reason, Brass was intrigued even though he wanted to hide it. He'd been alone for a long while. Brass used to have friends, but… Not any longer. Nobody would approach him when they passed due to the strange way he looked which made him grow colder. Bounty hunters were the only people who would speak with him on an equal level. This Raze said he was a bounty hunter even though he had a bounty on his own head, but it didn't seem like he cared about that. That was strange.

Turns out that strange is intriguing. At least in Brass's mind. So, when the next question came out, it surprised him, "What's your name then?" Raze then shook his head, "Unless you don't wanna say. I'm fine with that too." But that was the right question.

Brass recovered quickly, "It's Brass. You know? For this skin tone I have." He said while pointing at himself.

Raze replied, "Huh… That'd be like naming me, "White" for my skin tone… Strange, I like it though!" He smirked, "So, did you think of what I asked earlier?" He finished as Brass turned away.

"Yeah, I did." He answered as Raze leaned in, the fire blending into his eyes as Brass continued, "I think we can work something out here."

The night continued and the conversation got wildly more intense and before Brass knew it, they'd become friends in a way. Soon enough, the world faded back into the reality he was in now and the desert sand's backdrop would accompany him as Brass landed on the platform jutting out from the capsule corp ship. He walked into the ship through the mild barrier preventing sand from getting inside. He then walked to the ladder and proceeded to float up and over only to go down to the healing bay. He put Ken and the other boy in the first pod then Kira in the second one. After attaching the air masks to their faces, he shut them inside.

Clicking the buttons, the pods lit up and they were on their way to healing. Brass then made his way to the pilot seat. Without much left to do, he cut it on. Lifting off and making his way to the third building where Raze and Xeno resided with the other children.
