"Once I sell the information you are gathering I will not need to. Amos, I am scared…I can see Frank being arrested. And worse the people he works for… they are killers… he should get out."

"And you want me to bite him, of course."

"Put him under your control. Make him stop."

Amos considered it. It made sense And if Frank got in trouble, he would know it and come to his rescue….

Still it made him feel like a convenience.

"Yes. I was feeling used. And Wendy was not the worst. The worst was Beverly, always pumping me for information, and she was so engrossed in the details that I kept giving her that she did not realize how painful it was to me to relive my tragedy.. so if she wanted information she should pay for it. I began feeding on her more deeply than I should…it began to be dangerous for her."

"And how do you know this?"

"I've done some reading… I am serious Amos. One vampire can fly under the radar here. Two may be impossible, since she probably would not know how to avoid being noticed."

Dinah blanched. "I did not know that he had not gotten out.."

"Meaning that your lawyers never knew it, right? Listen, kiddo. If they catch me I'll rat on you. So make sure I am not caught. Yes, it is better that I am just your fiance. Your family will come out with ways to avoid scandal".
