"You can see how changing Lawson's story played havoc with the show narrative.." Danny said. "To get Midler in, they had to have a vampire be injured in a car accident. And to be admitted to the hospital, where a local physician has the cure ready without having dealt with him before."
"And he was building this project IN HIS BASEMENT" Heather snorted "as if it was easy to carry out that kind of research in such a place. He could not get in all that equipment without people noticing and commenting on it… but when you run a mental institution yes,"
"And how quickly the relationship between their Heather and their Amos changed so quickly from being adversarial and abusive and even murderous to being best friends with no warning about the change"
"It made sense in real life. There was an adversarial and abusive relationship for Heather, but it was not with Amos, but with Midler. So it made sense for her to befriend Amos…and for Amos to warm up to her."

"You have to call Miss Mattox." Lawson told Amos "we can use her to get the goods on Midler.. and promise to destroy any evidence that involves her. But we need her here for that."
Amos nodded "it is that important to you?"
"Yes. I take my oath as a doctor very seriously. And those who violate it offend me"
"I know the feeling. All right, how do I contact her:
"Take my cell phone."
"No, take mine" Danny said "if she sees the Doc's number she will be wary. But she does not know whose number is in my phone so she will not suspect"

"Amos called and told her to come the following night. We needed to set the stage. It would have worked if it was not.. The show had one thing right. Lawson let know his enemy that he was on to him"

It began with a frantic phone call. Ethel, Marjorie's mother telling her that Marjorie had taken the car and her dad's shotgun and was going to "deal with Midler".
"Why didn't you give her some sedatives when she went to see you?"
It was not time to tell her that doctors were not sedative dispensers to make life easier for relatives.. he had to get to Marjorie before the worst happened.
He probably broke a few speed limits driving there. Well, the cops knew him and would think that it was a emergency - as it was.
When he broke in, Marjorie was facing Midler and Whitby, pointing the gun at them.
"Marjorie , don't do that."
"I got him to confess. They did kill him. Call the cops"
"Marjorie, that confession will not stand. He will say that he did It to keep you from shooting him. Also if he wrote it down, he probably put quite a few inconsistencies that a lawyer can use to sink the case. No, all you will get is being arrested."
"But they did it."
"Marjorie, nothing good will come from this. It is just your opinion with no proof. But in the meantime, do you know how many charges he can level against you? Give me the gun and I will see that you are not charged."
She reluctantly let go of the shotgun. Whitby raced to get it, but Lawson was quicker. "This comes with me."
"Call the cops" Midler said.
"I would not do that if you were you. I know that you would not want to answer questions about what goes on in here… The next person that comes asking questions here will be smarter and will dig out things you want to keep secret."
He took Marjorie away while Midler looked at him quizzically. There was something in Lawson's manner that did not sit well with him.

"And then I got to meet Amos. It did not go as I expected."

"So you want me to treat you"
"I want you to give me information." Amos moved closer, closer than she felt comfortable with.
"Information"
"About your boss. George Midler. What is he really doing?"
"Why"
"Yes Miss Mattox. "Lawson came in." Tell us what you know of Midler. What he is really doing?"
She paled and tried to back away.
"You realize that I can force you to tell me all that. I would rather you cooperated."
Heather swallowed. "He's using his patients as guinea pigs for his experiments."
"And he kills them"
Heather nodded…."When he has no more use for them… He has proof of some things I have done so he has me in his power…"
"We may be able to protect you." Lawson said. "But I want to know all of it."

"What we did not know was that Herb Whitby was listening to us…"
