Amos took Charlie with him, wondering if he could bring Louis too. He could not, he decided not without endangering Charlie further. And Irina wanted him alive to paint her portrait.
So, Dinah would be safe in the hospital – and so would be Beverly. He abandoned the house to Irina – who was thrilled to be the mistress there at last.
"You are like her, aren't you?" Charlie asked him. "You too take blood…"
"You are safe with me. That's all you need to know."
He went home, where he was shocked to see Owen Raft being tended by Heather.
"You! What are you doing here?
"Trying to get away from the mess you and that woman have created. I am just a tool in her hands. Nothing of it was ever my idea… But when people like you and her clash is those like us who suffer."
"Like the ones you attacked:
"She wanted it done, and I have to obey her. You two will fight and the collateral damage will mount. I do not care for you or her not why you are at each other's throats. But I will end up paying for it… This whole thing is you fault. Yours and hers."

I tried to but his words hit Amos, and hit him hard. It was his fault that Wendy had been attacked. Or Dinah… same as it was his fault that Lawson died and Danny was shot.… I tried to convince him that it was not so but he did not believe me. Thus he became paralyzed in a way. In the show they have him weak and victimized because he turned human. But in reality he did not need to become human for that. His mind paralyzed him, and made him indecisive and that made him weak."

Beverly watched as Dinah was being transfused. She would be all right. And Amos was innocent and he would protect them… As for that woman…
One problem at a time. Why was Dinah muttering about Trenton? Well, she probably would find it soon enough.
Now she had to look at the resumes she had received. She needed to hire a new manager for the cannery. Things needed to change there, and she had to find the right person.
