*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*
After an exciting adventure through the skies of Hoenn, our hero is waking up on his first morning in Birch Laboratory.
Hearing the sound of ringing, Ash began to stir in his sleep. Once he began to wake up, he covered his ears with the pillow he laid his head on. Unfortunately, this proved ineffective as the ringing continued interrupting Ash's sleep.
"Ugh!," Ash groaned into the pillow before lifting it off his face. "Fine. I'll get up."
He raised his head off the bed and saw Pikachu lying down on his blanket-covered stomach, peacefully sleeping. Ash smiled at his long-time partner before sitting up and gently shaking him.
"Pikachu," Ash cooed, making the Mouse Pokémon stir in its sleep. "Come on, it's time to wake up."
"Pika," Pikachu whined as he began to wake up.
Once he was fully awake, Pikachu looked up at a smiling Ash before returning the smile and going up to his chest to nuzzle him.
"Pikapi, pika," Pikachu happily muttered as Ash began petting him.
"Good morning, buddy," Ash greeted softly. "Are you ready for today?"
"Pikachu!," Pikachu responded excitedly.
"Yeah, me too," Ash smiled before moving Pikachu off him and getting up from the bed.
He looked around the room he stayed in for the night. It was big and empty aside from the bed and the small couch across from the bed; The room was white with brown wooden floors, giving it a dull atmosphere.
Ash walked up to where the ringing was coming from; he put an alarm on his phone to wake up on time and put the phone on the couch. After turning off the alarm, he went up to the window, opened it, and looked outside with a serene look on his face. Pikachu got off the bed and ran over to Ash, climbing onto his shoulder to look out the window.
After a few seconds, Ash turned to Pikachu and scratched his chin, causing his partner to coo.
"Chaa!"
"Come on," Ash instructed. "Let's get ready."
After getting dressed, Ash walked through the laboratory halls with Pikachu, trying to find the cafeteria.
"If I remember right, the cafeteria was...," Ash trailed off as he stopped and turned to a pair of doors that were to the close right of him. "...Right here!"
He eagerly pushed through the doors, opening them to reveal the cafeteria. It was small and painted the color white, with two cafeteria tables and two tables that held a variety of breakfast foods.
Ash instantly spotted May sitting on one of the cafeteria tables, eating a stack of pancakes with a muffin and a croissant. May looked up from her food and noticed Ash standing in front of the cafeteria entrance.
"Oh! Morning Ash and Pikachu!," May greeted the pair with a smile.
"Good morning, May," Ash greeted back with a smile. "What's for breakfast?"
"Why don't you take a look for yourself?," May suggested as she pointed to her right.
Ash's eyes followed where May was pointing and saw a table full of different breakfast foods, such as pancakes and waffles, salad, sandwiches, bagels, muffins, croissants, and a basket of pastries. He couldn't help but look awestruck by the amount of food there was, staring at all of it with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Is it all you can eat!?," he asked as he turned to May, with a twinkle still in his eyes.
"Yup!," May answered enthusiastically. "Professor Birch told me that since we're this lab's only two research fellows, we can have as much as we want!"
"Awesome!," Ash cheered as he grabbed a tray from the table where the food was being held and started putting some on it. "They even have food for Pokémon here!"
As Ash stacked food onto his tray, a thought came to mind.
"Hey, where's Professor Birch anyway?," Ash asked May, not turning away from the food in front of him.
"He said that him and Joshua would come eat after going to the garden to feed my Pokémon," May explained.
A memory flashed through Ash's head of the night before when Professor Birch returned.
Once Professor Birch returned from dropping off May's parents, he decided to show Ash and May around the lab. After showing Ash and May around for a few minutes, the Hoenn professor stopped in front of a door.
"I'm especially proud of what we have in here," Professor Birch showcased before opening the door and walking in.
Ash and May followed Professor Birch inside and marveled at the sight they came across: a large domed grassy area with trees and lakes. It was a perfect place for all types of Pokémon to live in.
"What is this place?," Ash questioned.
"This is Birch Gardens," Professor Birch revealed. "A place where you can let all of the Pokémon you catch run free."
Ash's Pikachu jumped off Ash's shoulder and began running around in the garden.
"Well, Pikachu sure seemed to take that to heart," May giggled.
"Yeah, no kidding," Ash chuckled.
Professor Birch turned to May with a smile.
"Why don't you let the Pokémon you have with you stay here for the night?," the professor suggested. "I'm sure they'd much rather stay here than be in their Poké Balls."
"That sounds great!," May agreed. "Thanks, Professor Birch!"
"It's no problem at all," Professor Birch promised. "Now then, let's continue on our tour, shall we?"
"That's nice of them to do," Ash noted after setting his tray down and sitting down next to May.
He then set a bowl of Pokémon next to his tray, prompting Pikachu to jump on the table and start eating.
"Yeah. I just hope Munchlax doesn't give them a hard time," May confessed.
"Come on, I'm sure they're just fine," Ash waved off her concerns before he began eating.
Almost immediately after saying that, May's Munchlax burst through the cafeteria doors, with Professor Birch and Joshua not too far behind him. Joshua and Professor Birch held nets they tried using to catch Munchlax.
"Quick, Joshua! Before he goes for the food!," Professor Birch commanded as he tried to catch the Munchlax in his net.
"I'm trying!," Joshua insisted. "But this Munchlax is surprisingly quick!"
Munchlax ran at a breakneck speed toward Ash and May's food.
"Wait, Munchlax! Stop!," May cried, waving her hands in front of her.
Unfortunately for May, Munchlax either didn't hear her or just ignored her as he continued toward the table until he jumped onto it and began stuffing his face with May's breakfast. After it finished May's food, Munchlax quickly ate Ash's food before moving on to eating Pikachu's.
"My... My breakfast," May whimpered, visibly deflating due to her meal being completely devoured.
"Hey, cheer up, May," Ash encouraged while patting her shoulder and pointing to the table of breakfast items. "We could just get some more from over there."
Before they could even think about getting more food, Munchlax swiftly chowed down on the remaining breakfast foods in the cafeteria, sitting down on the floor and letting out a burp after it finished eating it all.
"Me and my big mouth," Ash grumbled as he looked down at the table in sadness.
"I didn't even get to eat anything," Professor Birch complained while staring blankly at the floor.
"It took me two hours to make all of that, and that Munchlax ate it all in under a minute," Joshua dully stated, also staring blankly at the floor.
"Munch," Munchlax yawned, tired after eating all that food.
However, Munchlax became wide awake when he felt a fiery aura emanating close by. He turned to where the change in atmosphere was coming from, only to see his trainer look furiously at him.
"M-Munch? Munchlax?," Munchlax stuttered nervously.
"Munchlax!," May yelled, as her voice echoed so loudly that some Taillow that sat atop the lab heard it and flew away in fright.
Meanwhile, in Vermilion City, a dark-skinned teenage boy clad in a red and grey sweatshirt with the design of a Poké Ball on the center of it, black sweatpants, and a pair of grey and black shoes was running up the stairs of a laboratory building that looked like a small castle.
"I wonder why Professor Cerise wanted me to come here so early," the boy wondered quietly.
After making it to the top of the steps, the boy opened the door and walked inside the building. As soon as he stepped inside, he was met with the sound of growling. He looked to where the sound was coming from and saw a canine Pokémon with a brown body, yellow fur around its neck, and a yellow bolt-shaped tail.
When it got a good view of who it was growling at, it stopped and began barking happily before approaching the boy.
"Yamper! Yamper!," the Pokémon barked as it rubbed its head against the boy's legs.
The boy smiled before getting down on one knee to pet the Pokémon.
"Good morning, Yamper," the boy greeted the Pokémon warmly.
"Good morning, Goh."
"Huh!?"
Goh jumped up and yelped in surprise at hearing Yamper address him by his name. Upon getting up, Goh saw that it wasn't Yamper that said his name, but Professor Cerise who stood right behind the Pokémon.
"P-Professor Cerise!," Goh yelped before straightening himself out. "Good morning."
The Kantonian professor chuckled at Goh's attempt to hide his fright.
"Sorry if I scared you."
"I-I wasn't scared!," Goh denied. "I was just surprised, that's all."
"In any case," Professor Cerise began, saving Goh from his embarrassment. "I wanted to talk to you about something important."
"What is it?," Goh asked in confusion and interest.
"You see, I'm working on a project with a peer of mine from the Hoenn region. It'll require a lot of field research, but I don't have anyone on my staff who specializes in that..."
A smile grew on Goh's face as he already had a good idea why the professor had called him to come to his lab.
"...But then I thought of you and how you love to go around and research all the Pokémon you find. And that's when I thought of something that might benefit us both."
The smile on Goh's face grew bigger and bigger as he waited for Professor Cerise to finish.
"Goh, would you do me the honor of becoming a research fellow at my laboratory?"
Goh closed his eyes as he stroked his chin, smiling smugly due to his theory being correct.
"I've been waiting to hear those words," Goh admitted before opening his eyes. He then moved his arm and hand in front of his torso with his hand opened up. "It's reality, it's my future, and I can hold it in the palm of my hand."
"Great!," Professor Cerise cheered. "Welcome aboard!"
Theme Song Break
Legend? Go! Friends? Go!
A fair-skinned girl with long, braided, maroon hair clad in a baggy white dress and a yellow ribbon around her collar walked up the stairs of Cerise Laboratory. Just as she was about to climb up the last step, the door opened and revealed Professor Cerise and Goh standing right in front of her, unaware of her presence as they were engaging in conversation.
"We'll be holding a presentation later today where we'll reveal our research project to the public," Professor Cerise told Goh. "I'd like you to be here for that so that I can introduce you as my research fellow and so you can know more about what the project entails."
"Sure!," Goh accepted with a smile.
"Goh?," the girl questioned.
Professor Cerise and Goh turned to the girl, finally aware of her presence.
"Chloe, I didn't see you there," Professor Cerise admitted. "Good morning."
"Hey, Chloe, guess what?" Goh asked rhetorically. "Professor Cerise hired me as his research fellow!"
"Oh, is that so?," Chloe inquired half-heartedly. "I guess I'll have to get you your homework printouts more often."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Goh admitted standoffishly before turning to the side and mumbling. "Not like I ask for them in the first place."
Unfortunately for Goh, Chloe heard what he said and scowled at him in annoyance.
"Huh!?"
Goh immediately turned back to her with a sheepish smile on his face.
"Oh, that reminds me," Goh began before turning to Professor Cerise. "What time does the presentation begin?"
"It won't start until late in the afternoon. Around an hour after school ends," Professor Cerise informed Goh.
"Perfect," Goh muttered happily. "That means I have plenty of time to prepare for my fateful encounter."
"Fateful encounter?," Chloe questioned.
Before Chloe could ask him to elaborate, she noticed that Goh was no longer in front of her and was halfway down the steps leading to the lab.
"Wait, Goh!," Chloe called out to him.
"Sorry, Chloe, no time!," Goh apologized. "The future's in the palm of my hands!"
Chloe looked on at the disappearing form of her friend, unimpressed and annoyed. Her father, however, laughed as he watched Goh disappear from his line of sight.
"But didn't he just say he has plenty of time?," Chloe muttered to herself.
"Goh certainly is a character, isn't he?," Professor Cerise smiled.
"He's something alright," Chloe commented dryly.
Suddenly, Yamper came from behind Chloe and Professor Cerise and started rubbing its cheek against Chloe's leg.
"Yamper! Yamper! Yamper! Yamp! Yamp!," Yamper barked happily at seeing Chloe.
"Good morning, Yamper," Chloe happily greeted the Pokémon. "Come on, let's go get you some food before I leave for school."
"Yamper! Yamper!," Yamper cheered as it followed Chloe and Professor Cerise inside the laboratory.
Back at Birch Laboratory, Ash, and May were sitting in front of Professor Birch's computer as the professor went over their presentation.
"...And after you finish introducing yourselves, I'll go over-"
"Grrrrr"
A loud rumbling sound interrupted Professor Birch's explanation. The professor turned in the direction of where the rumbling sound came from, which allowed him to see a sheepish Ash and an amused-looking May.
"Heh, heh. Guess I'm still hungry from this morning," Ash chuckled nervously while sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.
May laughed at her hungry friend, having found humor in his mild embarrassment.
"Grrrrrrrr!"
A louder rumbling sound could be heard, but this time, it didn't come from Ash. Turning in the direction of Birch Laboratory's female research fellow, Ash and Professor Birch were met with a red faced May, chuckling in embarrassment while she held her stomach.
"Guess I'm a little hungry too," May confessed, her face getting more red as Ash and Professor Birch snickered.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
A rumbling sound that could be mistaken for the sound of a Pokémon growling could be heard, but it didn't come from Ash or May.
"What was that!?," May asked in a panic.
"It sounded like it came from a wild Pokémon!," Ash guessed before looking around the lab cautiously.
Before Ash could get up and search for the supposed Pokémon, Professor Birch could be heard laughing anxiously, causing Ash to turn his attention to him. The Hoenn professor was red in the cheeks as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
"It seems like I'm a bit hungry myself," he confessed, causing Ash to fall over in his chair in disbelief and for May to look toward the ground in shame.
"I'm really sorry about Munchlax eating our breakfast, you guys," May apologized.
"You don't have anything to apologize for, May," Professor Birch promised. "It was mine and Joshua's responsibility to feed and look after Munchlax. We should have made a more conscious effort to pay attention to his appetite."
"Yeah, don't worry about it, May. Besides, after the earful you gave him, I don't think Munchlax is gonna try that again any time soon," Ash assured his companion.
The assurance that Professor Birch and Ash gave her allowed a small smile to appear on her face.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," May accepted. The smile she had on her face was quickly replaced by an embarrassed frown as her stomach rumbled loudly again. "Looks like my stomach isn't as forgiving as you guys are."
That comment made Ash laugh a little and the professor smile amusedly before getting up from his seat.
"Working on empty stomachs won't do us any good," Professor Birch declared. "Why don't we go to the cafeteria and take a quick lunch break? I'm sure we can find something to fill our stomachs."
Ash, Pikachu, and May smile widely, eager to go and find some food to satiate their appetites, however, they're interrupted by a voice that came from behind them.
"That won't be necessary."
Ash, May, Pikachu, and Professor Birch turn behind them and see Joshua coming with a picnic basket in hand and his scarf-clad Scorbunny sitting on his shoulder.
"Hey, Joshua! Hey, Scorbunny!," Ash greeted.
Before Joshua could say anything, Scorbunny quickly and excitedly got off his shoulder and began jumping toward Ash using Bounce.
"Scorbunny, no!," Joshua pleaded, but the Rabbit Pokémon didn't listen.
Once Scorbunny got close enough to Ash, he planned to jump into his lap. Unfortunately for both Ash, Pikachu, and Scorbunny, he jumped toward Ash using too much force, causing Scorbunny to ram his head into Ash's stomach for the third time in the past 24 hours since they met.
"Ah!," Ash cried in distress before he began to fall backwards in his chair.
"Pika!," Pikachu yelped, holding onto Ash's shoulder as his trainer began to fall over.
Ash quickly caught and held Scorbunny into his chest with one hand and held onto Pikachu with his other hand before falling over and hitting his head.
"Ash!," May cried as both her and the professor looked down at Ash in worry.
"Oh, not again!," Joshua complained before quickly going over to Ash to see if he was alright. "Ash, are you okay!?"
Left in a dazed state, Ash quickly recovered after hearing May and Joshua call his name. He sat up and looked at his three co-workers before smiling sheepishly.
"Yeah, I'm alright," Ash promised, causing May, Professor Birch, and Joshua to sigh in relief. He then turned to Pikachu with a worried expression. "Are you okay, buddy?"
"Pika, Pikapi," Pikachu assured his trainer, causing Ash to smile in ease.
"Well, that's a relief," Ash sighed before looking down at Scorbunny, who he still had tucked into his chest. "How about you, Scorbunny?"
Scorbunny looked up from Ash's chest and smiled timidly at both him and Pikachu. Pikachu looks annoyed with Scorbunny causing him to flinch, while Ash smiles at Scorbunny with reassurance and a bit of weary.
"Looks like your Bounce attack is as strong as ever," Ash complimented. "But you should be more careful when you're bouncing around the lab like that. You could get hurt."
Scorbunny chuckles sheepishly before nodding his head in understanding.
"Scorbunny," Scorbunny meekly apologized to Ash. He then turned to Pikachu and looked at the Mouse Pokémon apologetically. "Scorbunny."
Pikachu's expression softened after seeing and hearing how apologetic Scorbunny was, so he got off Ash's shoulder, went up to the Rabbit Pokémon, and nuzzled Scorbunny's cheek with his forehead. This brought a smile to Scorbunny's face as he began to nuzzle the side of Pikachu's head in return.
"Chaa!," Pikachu cooed happily.
"Bunbunny!," Scorbunny sighed happily.
Ash looked at the two Pokémon affectionately as Professor Birch looked at him with a relieved smile, Joshua looked at him apologetically, and May looked at the two Pokémon with a smile.
"Aww, Pikachu and Scorbunny are friends now! That's so cute!," May gushed while looking at the Pokémon with stars in her eyes.
"I'm really sorry about that, Ash," Joshua apologized. "Scorbunny gets a little carried away whenever he gets excited."
"Ah, that's alright. It was an accident," Ash waved off Joshua's apology, bringing his seat back up and sitting back down. It was then that he noticed the basket in Joshua's hand. "Hey, what's that picnic basket for?"
Joshua smiled at the question Ash asked before opening up the basket to reveal it was filled to the brim with sandwiches. Ash and May's eyes shine brightly as they stare at the open picnic basket in awe.
"Since we couldn't eat the breakfast I made this morning, I thought it would be a good idea to make everyone lunch. This time, I made sure to leave Munchlax with a mountain of food so he wouldn't come and eat ours."
Joshua then set the basket down at Professor Birch's computer table and grabbed a seat next to them.
"Let's dig in, shall we?," he encouraged, causing Ash and May to both quickly grab a sandwich for themselves.
As the pair of teen research fellows take a bite out of their own respective sandwiches, their eyes widen in amazement as they scarf down the rest of their sandwiches.
"Wow, this tastes so awesome!," Ash cheered as he took another sandwich and scarfed it down.
"Yeah! It's almost as good as the one's Brock used to make," May pointed out before scarfing down another sandwich and turning her attention to the lab assistant who made the sandwiches. "Thanks for the sandwiches Joshua."
"Yeah, thanks a lot!," Ash chimed in before eating another sandwich.
"Woah! Slow down! Save some for me!," Professor Birch halfheartedly chided before quickly reaching into the basket and grabbing a sandwich of his own.
Joshua couldn't help but chuckle at the sight in front of him before taking a sandwich for himself and biting into it.
After finishing the basket full of sandwiches, Ash and May sat back in their chairs as they patted their stomachs in satisfaction.
"Man, that really hit the spot," Ash sighed blissfully.
"Uh-huh!," May agreed, smiling happily with her eyes closed.
"Now that we've all had a proper meal, we can finish going over the presentation without any distractions," Professor Birch stated.
"Hey, Professor Birch, what's the presentation going to be about anyway?," Ash asked, petting Pikachu and Scorbunny as they laid on Ash's lap.
"I don't want to reveal too much before the presentation, so I can't say too much," Professor Birch began. "But to keep it simple, Professor Cerise and I will be going over our most recent findings from here in Hoenn and from a faraway region known as Galar."
A thoughtful expression was on Ash's face as he remembered something yesterday.
"Oh, yeah. I remember you talking about that yesterday," he recounted before turning to Joshua. "That's where you said Scorbunny comes from, right?"
"That's right. I met Scorbunny when I was doing some field research there," Joshua revealed with a warm smile on his face.
"Scorbunbun!," Scorbunny cheered, hopping to his feet on Ash's lap.
"Wait. I think I remember hearing about the Galar region before," May recalled, turning to Professor Birch curiously. "Is it true that Pokémon from Galar can become giant sized?"
Ash and Pikachu looked at May in surprise while Professor Birch nodded in confirmation.
"It is. Researchers from Galar call this phenomenon 'Dynamaxing'."
"Dynamaxing…," Ash repeated incredulously.
"Pika pi," Pikachu whispered.
"It's truly an incredible occurrence, and you can learn all about it during the presentation," Professor Birch concluded with a smile. "Now then, since we've finished our lunch, let's finish going over what I'll have you two be doing, shall we?"
"Alright," May accepted with an eager smile.
"Sounds good to me!," Ash agreed with a thumbs up.
"Excellent!," Professor Birch grinned. "Now, originally, when Ash was going to be my only research fellow, I was just going to have him introduce himself and listen in on the rest of the presentation. However, after your encounters with Latios and Latios and hiring May on as my other research fellow, I've decided to give the both of you a more significant role to play."
"What do you want us to do?," Ash questioned.
"At some point during the presentation, I'm going to pass it on to you two. Once that happens, I want you to tell everyone about your encounter with Latios and Latias."
Back in Kanto, it's almost time for the presentation to begin, and Professor Cerise is looking at his watch with a look of concern.
"I'm back!," a voice announced from the front of the lab.
Walking toward the door, Professor Cerise saw his daughter Chole, having returned from school, closing the door behind her. Yamper was right by her feet, barking happily as she bent down to pet him.
"Chloe, there you are," Professor Cerise greeted anxiously.
Chloe looked at her father in confusion and worry, wondering why he seemed nervous.
"Is everything alright, Dad?," she asked as she got up.
Professor Cersie shook his head in denial, causing Chloe to look even more worried.
"The presentation's about to begin in half an hour and I haven't heard from Goh since this morning," he confessed. "I tried contacting him, but he never picked up his phone. I'm worried something might have happened."
"Goh probably just lost track of time," Chloe assured her father, although she still seemed a bit worried. "He does that a lot. I'm sure he'll be here sooner or later."
His daughter's reassurance did little to quell the professor's worry.
"That may be true, but I would still feel better if I knew for sure. Could you go out and try and find him while I finish setting up for the presentation?"
Chloe was reluctant to accept her father's request; it's not that she didn't care about Goh, but her friend has had a track record for running late to things whenever he's in his own little world of Pokémon. However, she wouldn't want to risk not going and finding out something did happen to him.
"Of course," Chloe agreed before placing her bag down by the door and meeting Yamper face to face. "I'll be right back, Yamper. Stay right here."
"Yamp, Yamper!," Yamper accepted.
Chloe quickly patted Yamper's head before getting up from the floor and turning toward her dad.
"Call me as soon as you find him," the professor instructed.
She nodded her head in understanding before quickly making her way out of the lab.
"Still no answer," Chloe complained, hanging up her phone and putting it in her pocket.
After going to all the places where she knows Goh goes to and calling him several times, Chloe wound up with no clues as to where her friend could have gone. However, she still has one more place where she could find where Goh might have gone.
She stopped right outside the apartment building where Goh and his family lived, before letting out a sigh.
"Hopefully someone's home," Chloe wished before going up to the building and entering the front door.
Once inside the building, she went into the lobby and up the stairs until she was on the floor that Goh's apartment was supposed to be. She then made her way down the hall until she found Goh's apartment. She rang the doorbell and waited for someone to come to the door, and sure enough, someone did. An elderly woman with short grey hair opened the door and smiled once she saw who rang the bell.
"Chloe! It's so nice to see you, dear!," the woman greeted warmly. "Are you here to drop off Goh's homework again? He isn't here right now, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you left it in his room."
"Oh, uh, no, not today," Chloe confessed. "I actually wanted to ask you if you knew where Goh went."
"Oh! I believe he mentioned going to the pier," the woman revealed.
"The pier? Did he mention why he was going?," Chloe asked in confusion.
"I'm not sure," the elderly lady confessed. "But before he left, he did say something about a fateful encounter before leaving."
Chloe's look of confusion was quickly replaced with a look of exasperation.
"I should have known," she pouted before turning toward the elderly lady with a smile. "Thank you so much."
"Think nothing of it," the elderly woman waved off the thank you. "Hey, you should stop by one of these days for dinner. I'm sure Goh would love to have you over."
'If he's not busy doing who knows what,' Chloe bitterly added in her thoughts.
"I'd love to! Thanks!," Chloe accepted before waving goodbye. "I'll see you later."
"Bye, Chloe!," the old woman bid farewell before closing the door.
As she made her way down to the lobby, Chloe wore a stern expression on her face.
At the pier, Goh with an excited look on his face faced the ocean in anticipation.
"Here it comes," he declared before a stop watch out of his pants pocket and looking at a timer counting down from five. "Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Go!"
He looked back toward the ocean, waiting for something to happen. A few more seconds passed by as he continued to stare at the large mass of water, but nothing was coming.
"That's weird. It was supposed to show up," Goh muttered in confusion.
Looking away from the ocean, Goh pinched his forehead in annoyance.
"Oh, man. Don't tell me my calculations were off. But I was so sure that it was supposed to come today!"
He then let out a huff and put his stopwatch away before crossing his arm in exasperation.
"Oh, well. Guess there's nothing I can really do," Goh conceded. He then looked at a watch strapped to his wrist in order to check the time. "I should probably head back now. The presentation starts in 20 minutes."
As he put his phone back in his pocket and started to walk away from the pier, a large "Bang" came from behind him.
"What was that!?," he wondered before turning around.
Goh's eyes widened in shock as he turned to see that a dark swirling cloud had appeared over the ocean.
"I was right! It's really happening!," he exclaimed.
A loud screech came from inside the cloud as it began to dissipate, revealing a large Pokémon with wings. The Pokémon flapped its wings, causing the cloud to disappear altogether, revealing its full form.
It was a white Pokémon with a long neck, dark blue fins that ran down its back, and a tail with two pointed blue spikes on the side of it. Its mouth resembled that of a beak, its eyes had pointed blue spikes over them, and its wings resembled hands.
The Pokémon let out another screech and flapped its wings again, causing Goh to smile excitedly at the sight.
"It's Lugia!"
Who's That Pokémon?
Hint: It's white and part of its body resembles a hand.

Reveal: It's Lugia!
Slowly approaching the legendary Diving Pokémon, Goh eagerly awaited his chance to try and interact with Lugia, and possibly take a picture of it. Unfortunately for Goh, Lugia saw him approaching and decided to fly away.
"Lugia! Wait!," Goh called out to it as he tried to catch up.
Noticing that the legendary Pokémon was headed toward a mountain that was close to the city, Goh quickly picked up the pace as he tried to formulate a plan to catch up to it.
While he was running toward the mountain, he didn't see that someone was running toward him, nor did that person notice Goh coming their way. Eventually, they both noticed too late and crashed into each other, causing both of them to fall over.
"I'm really sorry about that! I'm kind of in a hurry!," Goh apologized before getting up from the ground. Before he could hurry, however, he recognized the person he had knocked over and looked down at them in confusion. "Chloe?"
Rubbing her back in pain with her eyes closed, Chloe hadn't noticed it was Goh that knocked her over until she heard his voice. Her eyes widened in surprise at hearing her friend's voice as she looked up toward him. "Goh?"
"What are you doing out here?," Goh wondered. "I thought you would've been home by now."
Once Chloe got off the ground, she pouted in annoyance after hearing Goh's question.
"I should be asking you the same thing!," she declared, pointing at him in anger, causing Goh to flinch. "The presentation is going to start soon and my dad's been wondering where you were! We both tried to call you but you never picked up your phone!"
Hearing all that made Goh feel guilty, as he looked at his friend with remorse.
"I'm really sorry, Chloe! I forgot to bring my phone with me before I left!," Goh admitted before turning away from her. "Tell Professor Cerise I'll be there soon! Right after my fateful encounter with Lugia!"
Before she could protest, Goh ran right past Chloe and toward the mountain that Lugia was flying toward.
"Goh! Wait!," Chloe called out to him. A scowl made her way to her face as Goh ignored her and continued running away. "I just don't get it. What's so special about that Pokémon anyway?"
Without giving it much thought, Chloe began running after Goh and try to convince him to come back with her to the lab.
"Slow down, Goh!"
After catching up with Lugia making it up the mountain, Goh to the left of Lugia as it was flying away.
"The future's in the palm of my hand!," Goh declared as he ran toward the edge of the mountain.
Unknown to Goh, Chloe was not that far behind him, running as fast as she could.
"Goh! Slow down!," Chloe called out to her friend.
Hearing his friend call out to him, Goh slowed down and turned his head.
"Chloe?," Goh wondered in confusion.
Due to his head being turned away, he didn't notice that he was at the edge of the mountain until he noticed one of his feet was off the ground.
"Huh?," Goh uttered as he turned his head back and looked at the ground, noticing that he was half on the cliff and half of it. "Woah!"
Losing his balance due to being surprised, Goh's other leg wobbled before falling over and off the cliff. Noticing this, Chloe quickly ran toward the cliff in distress.
"Goh!," she yelled as she approached the cliff.
Due to sheer luck, Goh had been able to catch himself on the edge of the cliff with one hand.
"That was close," Goh sighed in relief.
"Don't worry, Goh! I'll help you!," Chloe declared as she crouched down and took Goh's hand.
Unfortunately, before Chloe could pull Goh back up, the edge of the cliff broke away, causing both of them to start free falling toward the ground.
"Ahh!," Chloe screamed with her eyes closed as she fell closer and closer toward the ground.
"Chloe!," Goh yelled as he held his friend's hand tighter and closed his eyes in anticipation.
Once they finally made impact, they noticed that the ground was a lot softer than they thought it would be. They then slowly opened their eyes and noticed that they were uninjured and still up in the air.
"We're okay?," Chloe questioned, not knowing what was happening and what she was sitting on. "What's going on?"
"Are we… floating?," Goh questioned before taking notice of the surface below them. His eyes widened in shock once he realized what he was sitting on. "Wait… is this…"
Quickly getting onto his feet, Goh spread his arms out in amazement as he looked down at Chloe, who was still sitting.
"This is awesome!," Goh cheered, causing Chloe to turn to him in bewilderment. "Chloe, we're riding on top of Lugia right now!"
"Huh!?," she uttered as she took a better look around her. Looking around the surface, Chloe could see Lugia's blue backfins moving side to side before taking note of its white scales, and finally noticing its long neck and its head. "I can't believe it. We're actually riding on the back of a Pokémon."
Before Chloe could fully process what was happening, Lugia began to fly upwards, causing both her and Goh to lose balance.
"AHHHHH!," they yelled in sync as they both gripped one of Lugia's back fins in fear.
Ignoring the pair of friends' yelling, Lugia continued flying upwards, away from the mountain that Goh and Chloe fell from.
Meanwhile, in Cerise Laboratory, Professor Cerise had just finished going over his presentation with his assistants and was waiting for Professor Birch to call him.
At the corner of the room, the Kantonian Professor stood by one of his assistants, Ren, who was sitting down at a computer. Ren had messy blonde hair and wore a pair of red-tinted glasses over his eyes. He also wore a white lab coat over a yellow t-shirt with a picture of the Pokémon, Magnemite in the center, and a pair of red pants.
Sitting in a chair next to Ren was Professor Cerise's other assistant, Chrysa. She had long, blue hair that she tied with a black bow. She wore a white lab coat like Ren, a turquoise dress shirt, and a black skirt that the dress shirt was tucked into.
"The presentation is starting soon. Goh still hasn't shown up yet?," Ren asked.
"I'm afraid not," Professor Cerise sighed in acceptance. "I sent Chloe to see if she can find him but it looks like she hasn't had any luck."
"I'm sure Goh will show up sooner or later," Chrysa reasoned with her boss. "I know he wouldn't want to miss your presentation."
"Hopefully you're right about that, Chrysa," Professor Cerise replied. He then looked down at his watch in order to check the time; there was only 10 minutes left until the presentation was supposed to begin. "But at this rate, we might have to start without him."
"Woah!," Goh yelled as Lugia was flying at top speed across the skies.
"Get me down from here!," Chloe screamed, clinging onto one of Lugia's back fins while closing her eyes. "Please! I just want to go home!"
Turning its head to face Chloe, Lugia began to slow down before looking forward once again. Noticing the change in Lugia's flight speed, Goh slowly let out of the back fin he was holding onto before looking toward the ground.
"This is incredible," Goh whispered to himself. Not wanting his friend to miss the view, Goh turned toward Chloe and tried to get her attention. "Chloe, open your eyes! You've got to take a look at this!"
"No way!," Chloe denied, gripping the back fin she was holding onto tighter than before. "I'm not opening them. Not until we're back on the ground!"
"There's nothing to be afraid of!," Goh pleaded with a smile. "Trust me! You're not gonna wanna miss this!"
Chloe was reluctant to listen to Goh, however, the sincerity in his voice made her believe him, so against her better judgment, she gave it a shot.
"Alright, already!," she relented, slowly opening one eye so that she could get a glimpse of the view Goh was praising.
Once she saw the scenery below her, Chloe slowly opened her other eye and gazed in amazement. Underneath Lugia was the clear blue ocean, beautiful and serene, especially from the sky.
"Wow!," Chloe sighed blissfully. "It's beautiful!"
"See! I told you!," Goh remarked, smiling smugly at Chloe before returning his focus on the ocean.
Suddenly, a flock of Fearow flew to the side of Lugia, which caught the attention of Goh.
"A flock of Fearow!," Goh noted, causing Chloe to look away from the ocean and to the side of Lugia. "For them to be flying up just as high as Lugia, they must have amazing flying power!"
"Amazing," Chloe whispered, appreciating the sight of the Fearow.
Slowly and carefully, Lugia began to dip more and more toward the ocean, causing Goh and Chloe to slightly jolt in surprise. Once it was close enough to the ocean where it could touch it with its wings, Lugia stopped dipping and instead continued flying near the ocean's surface, but a lot more slower than before.
Goh steadily brought his hand down toward the surface of the ocean and let his hand pass through the water. This brought a smile to Goh's face, which made Chloe interested in copying him. At a slower pace than Goh, she reached her hand down toward the ocean until she felt the water between her fingers.
Feeling a sense of ease, Chloe began to smile, until she felt something touch the bottom of her hand.
"Ah!," she yelped as she quickly took her hand away from the water.
Looking at where she felt something touch her hand and saw that it was the Pokémon, Horsea, who was popping its head up from the water. Once it saw Chloe, it swam close to her and leaned its head toward her.
"Horsea! Horsea-sea!," it spoke excitedly.
Hesitantly, Chloe reached her hand down toward the Dragon Pokémon and pet the top of its head.
"Sea-sea! Horsea!," it celebrated, rubbing its head against the palm of Chloe's hand.
"C-Cut it out!," Chloe giggled. "That tickles!,"
While Chloe was preoccupied with Horsea, Goh was admiring Lugia, observing parts of its body.
"So that's how its back fins move," Goh noted, watching Lugia's back fins move side to side. He then took the time to feel the scales on Lugia's back. "Wow. It's a lot rougher than I thought it'd be."
Sitting back on the Diving Pokémon and looking toward the sky peacefully, Goh smiled.
"This is a dream come true. It's all so amazing."
Without warning, Lugia slowly started to pick up the pace and flew upwards, causing Chloe to stop petting the Horsea.
"Horsea!," it bid farewell before diving back into the water.
"Bye! Take care!," Chloe smiled and waved goodbye before moving more toward the center of Lugia's back.
Changing its flight path, Lugia turned around and headed toward a grassland area in the mainland. Once it got close enough, it dipped close toward the ground, allowing Goh and Chloe to see the Pokémon that resided in that area.
"Look! It's Rapidash!," Goh pointed at the Fire Horse Pokémon.
Looking at where Goh was pointing, Chloe saw two Rapidash run across the land at highspeeds.
"They're so pretty!," Chloe admired with stars in her eyes.
Goh then took note of two big Vileplumes nurturing two Oddishes.
"Wow! I've never seen Vileplume and Oddish up close before!," he stated before taking note of a flock of Pidgeotto flying over his head in a "V" formation. "Pidgeotto too!"
Once again, Lugia picked up speed and flew away from the grassland area before flying back toward Vermilion City.
"Look, Goh!," Chloe pointed toward the ground, causing her friend to look at where she was pointing. "The lab's right over there!"
Hearing this, Lugia looked to where Chloe was pointing and dived down toward the ground and headed toward the lab. Due to how unexpected it was and how fast Lugia was going, Goh and Chloe screamed in fear before quickly grabbing hold one of Lugia's back fins to hold onto.
"AHHHH!," they yelled in sync, not knowing what Lugia was doing.
There were only two more minutes until the presentation was supposed to begin and Professor Cerise had given up thinking Goh was going to show up.
"Oh, well," Professor Cerise sighed. "I suppose he's not coming after all."
"That's a shame. I was sure he would have been here by now," Chrysa admitted with a frown.
"Well, we'll just have to brief him on the presentation later," Ren added.
Suddenly, a large gust of wind could be heard coming from outside the lab, which caught everyone's attention.
"Where's all that wind coming from!?," Ren wondered.
As the sound of wind blowing got closer, a loud screech, piercing the ears of the Pokémon researchers.
"And what's making that sound!?," Chrysa questioned loudly.
Once the screeching stopped, Professor Cerise and Chrysa went to investigate while Ren hesitantly followed.
"H-Hey, wait for me!," the blonde researcher pleaded as he went to catch up with them.
Professor Cerise was the first one to make it outside, and what he saw had blown him away.
"I… can't believe it!," he stated in shock.
Next, Chrysa, followed by Ren, made it outside and just like Professor Cerise, they were both awestruck with what they saw.
"No way!," Ren exclaimed.
"Is that…," Chrysa drifted off, not believing what she was seeing.
In front of their very eyes was Lugia, descending down onto the steps leading to the laboratory.
"It is!," Ren confirmed. "It's Lugia!"
"Heeeeeeey! Up here!"
Hearing a voice coming from Lugia's general area, the three researchers looked at the back of the Diving Pokémon's neck in surprise, spotting Goh clinging to one side of its neck. On the other side of its neck, they also saw Chloe grabbing onto it, smiling happily as Lugia got closer and closer to the ground.
"It's Chloe and Goh!," Professor Cerise noted.
"And they're riding on the back of Lugia!," Chrysa added.
As soon as it landed on the ground, Lugia stood upright, causing Goh and Chloe to slide down its back and off its tail.
"Woah!," Goh and Chloe yelped as they rolled off Lugia's tail and onto the ground.
Sitting upright, the pair of friends watched as Lugia flapped its wings and flew upwards toward the sky. Due to how large its wings were, a gust of wind blew around Goh and Chloe, as well as Professor Cerise, Chrysa, and Ren, causing all of them to cover their faces.
Letting out one final shriek, Lugia flew toward the sky and away from the lab.
"See ya!," Goh yelled goodbye, waving in the direction that Lugia flew off to.
"Thanks for everything!," Chloe called out to the legendary Pokémon, waving goodbye as well.
Once Lugia was out of sight, the smiles that Goh and Chloe had on their faces disappeared as they looked toward the sky with blank expressions.
"And there it goes," Goh commented quietly, unable to process what had just happened.
"Do you think we'll ever see it again?," Chloe wondered.
"Meeting a Pokémon like Lugia is usually a once in lifetime kind of event," Goh admitted, causing Chloe to frown. However, Goh raised his shoulders in a shrug and smiled sincerely. "But who knows? Maybe someday we'll have another fateful encounter."
Goh's response brought a smile to Chloe's face, happy to have met and gotten to ride on Lugia with him.
"Goh! Chloe!," Professor Cerise interrupted their moment, running toward the pair with Chrysa and Ren following right behind him.
"It's Dad!," Chloe pointed out before Professor Cerise was right in front of them.
"Professor Cerise! Did you see that!?," Goh asked in excitement. "Chloe and I met Lugia!"
"Not only that, but you two were riding on it!," the professor replied, gripping onto Goh's shoulders in excitement. "Please, tell me everything you experienced!"
"Uh, professor," Chrysa interrupted. "As much as I would like to hear about Lugia as well, shouldn't we wait until after our presentation?"
Looking at his watch, Professor Cerise saw that he only had one minute left, "You're right. We don't have much time. Let's all head back inside."
"Right!," Goh agreed with a smile.
The professor turned and walked toward the entrance of the lab, with Goh, Chrysa, and Ren following close behind him.
Chloe didn't move a single inch from where she was standing until Yamper came through the door while everyone else was going inside.
"Yamper! Yamp! Yamp! Yamper!," he barked happily, excited to see that Chloe was back.
Returning Yamper's smile, Chloe bent down in front of him and began petting his head.
"Hey, Yamper!," Chloe greeted the Puppy Pokémon. "You won't believe what happened today! It was amazing!"
As she continued petting Yamper, Chloe thought back to when she petted Horsea and how happy that made her feel. That memory caused her to remember all the other fun moments she had while riding on Lugia, which made the smile she had on her face grow even wider.
'Maybe… Pokémon aren't so bad after all,' she decided in her head as she got up and made her way toward the lab.
"Come on, Yamper! Let's go watch Dad's presentation!," she called out, causing Yamper to follow.
"Yamper! Yamper!," Yamper barked as he walked with Chloe, side by side.
Back in Birch Laboratories in the Hoenn region, a crowd of news reporters and Pokémon researchers have gathered inside the lab and are waiting for the presentation to begin. All the way in the front of the room, Ash, May, and Professor Birch stood close to the wall, while Joshua was in the corner of the room sitting in front of one of the many computers they had.
"Wow! There sure are a lot of people," Ash noted in slight surprise.
"Pi-kaChu," Pikachu, who was sitting on top of Ash's shoulder, agreed.
"It's to be expected," Professor Birch stated with a smile. "There are so many mysteries revolving around Pokémon and there are just as many people who want them solved."
The professor's response brought a smile to Ash's face, happy that there were so many people in the world who were interested in Pokémon. Just then, a holographic screen with a flashing camera icon popped up in the middle of the room.
"It's time," the Hoenn professor stated before turning his attention to his assistant. "Joshua, patch the video call through and get ready."
"Understood, professor," Joshua acknowledged as he began typing on his keyboard.
Professor Birch then walked towards the middle of the room until he was right behind the holographic screen, before Ash and May followed suit and stood to the side of him.
After pressing one last key on his keyboard, Joshua managed to patch Professor Cerise's video call through the holo screen, revealing the Kantonian professor, his two assistants standing on one side of him, and Goh standing on the other.
"Thank you all for coming today," Professor Cerise greeted the audience in Professor Birch's lab. "I am Professor Cerise, owner of the Cerise Research Laboratory."
He then gestures towards Chrysa and Ren with one of his hands, "These are my assistants, Ren and Chrysa."
Ren and Chrysa raised their hands to greet the audience, with Ren smiling awkwardly and Chrysa smiling confidently.
Professor Cerise put his hand down and gestured toward Goh with his other hand.
"...And this is my research fellow, Goh."
Goh waved at the audience on the other side of the screen with a large grin on his face.
"It's nice to meet you all!," Goh greeted the audience.
"And I am Professor Birch, owner of the Birch Research Laboratory," Professor Birch chimed in, greeting the audience with a wave before gesturing toward Joshua with his hand. "Over by that computer is my assistant, Joshua."
Joshua turned toward the crowd and greeted them with a wave of his hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you all."
Professor Birch then gestured toward Ash and May, "And these two are my research fellows, Ash and May."
"Hi!," May waved with a smile.
"Nice to meetcha!," Ash greeted the audience with a smile before turning toward the shoulder Pikachu was sitting on. "This is my partner, Pikachu! Say, 'hi' buddy."
"Pika-Pikachu!," Pikachu waved his paw hello.
"With introductions out of the way, let's discuss our collaboration," Professor Birch declared.
Snapping his fingers, another holographic screen popped up to the right of the first one. This screen had a picture of the world taken from a satellite.
"As you're all aware, our planet hosts a wide variety of creatures that we've come to know as Pokémon…"
Over on Professor Cerise's end, three holographic screens popped up behind him, showing off Pokémon living in forests and the seas, and flying through the air.
"In forests, in the skies, and under the seas," Professor Cerise picked up where Professor Birch left off. "No matter where we go in the world, you will undoubtedly find them."
"There are many mysteries revolving around Pokémon," Professor Birch continued. "We here at Birch Laboratories…"
"...And we here at Cerise Laboratories…"
"...Wish to uncover these mysteries and share them with the rest of the world. However, we know that a goal such as that is too difficult to do alone, which is why Professor Cerise and I have decided to collaborate and uncover them together."
"As a start to this project, we'll be spending most of our time solving one particular mystery that Professor Birch and I have found most peculiar."
Thanks to Joshua activating them on his computer, the holographic screen showing off a picture of the world disappeared and was instead replaced with a different screen. This screen had a picture of the legendary Pokémon, Kyogre and Groudon, clashing against one another in their Primal forms.
"A few years ago, off the coast of Hoenn, the legendary Pokémon of the sea, Kyogre, and the legendary Pokémon of the earth, Groudon clashed against one another in what has recently been discovered to be their Primal forms."
The screen quickly changed to show Kyogre and Groudon firing off beams of energy against one another.
"After their clash, they vanished and haven't been seen since," Professor Birch revealed before a picture of the world appeared again on the screen, but this time, with parts of the world being circled in red. "However, a few months ago, there have been documented energy signatures appearing and disappearing across the Hoenn region. The energy that is being given off is known to emit from only Groudon and Kyogre while they are in their Primal forms. For that reason, researchers have dubbed this form of energy 'Primal Energy'. Any Pokémon that were spotted near areas where Primal Energy was detected suddenly became angry and erratic."
The screen then replaced the picture of the world and showed a video of a Manectric launching electric-type attacks at a scared Tropius. Then another screen popped up next to it showing a picture of a trainer with a Swampert defending going up against a flock of Swellow.
"No one knows what's causing this to happen, but we believe it has something to do with the disappearance of Kyogre and Groudon," Professor Birch declared. "Not only that, but I believe that the legendary Eon Duo, Latios and Latias, have something to do with it as well, and that my research fellows, Ash and May, are the key to all of this."
This statement caused Ash and May to look at Professor Birch in confusion, wondering why he believed that.
"Huh?," they uttered in sync, confused by Professor Birch's declaration.
This also seemed to confuse Professor Cerise as he looked baffled by his colleague's statement.
"Would you care to explain your reasoning behind this theory?," he asked politely, causing Professor Birch to smile confidently.
"Gladly," the Hoenn Professor told his collaborator before a multitude of holographic screens appeared behind him. Each screen showed off blurry images of what seemed to be two Pokémon flying in the sky, with one being red and white and the other being blue and white. "Once reports of Primal Energy had gone public, I had also started hearing reports about people spotting red and blue Pokémon flying around different parts of Hoenn, where Primal Energy had been detected."
Professor Birch stopped to look at the crowd for a second with a stern expression on his face before continuing.
"No one could ever get clear images of the Pokémon, but from the pictures that people were able to take and from a few eye witness reports, people believe that these Pokémon to be Latios and Latias."
The screens behind Professor Birch disappeared and instead were replaced with three new screens, showing off the footage May had captured while she rode with Ash on Latios.
"Although there were no spikes of Primal Energy detected around these areas, yesterday, Latios and Latias were found flying around Petalburg City and Littleroot Town."
He then turned to Ash and May with a smile and winked at them.
"Isn't that right, you two?"
"Huh?," Ash uttered, confused as to why Professor Birch had winked at him before quickly realizing what the professor was doing. "Oh! Yeah!"
Ash then turned toward the crowd with a friendly smile on his face as he began to explain what happened yesterday.
"Ya see, yesterday, Latios came to Professor Birch's lab," he explained casually, while everyone from the audience, and the people from Cerise Laboratory gasped and looked shocked by his confession. "Me and Pikachu wanted to have a battle with him, but before we could do anything, he used Psychic on us to put us on his back. After that, he flew away from the lab reaaaaaally fast!"
He spread his arms out wide while emphasizing the word, "really", which caused May to giggle before she decided to step in.
"Then after that, Latias came to my house and took me away as well," May explained, garnering more shock from everyone that wasn't from Birch Laboratory. "When she found Latios, she used Psychic on me to lift me off her back and put me on the back of Latios with Ash."
"That's amazing!," Goh interrupted, getting close to the screen. "I can't believe you two got to ride on Latios and Latias!"
"I know, right!? It was so awesome!," Ash replied, happily.
"Ahem," Professor Birch coughed, which got Ash and Goh's attention.
"R-Right, sorry about that," Goh apologized embarrassedly.
"My bad," Ash apologized with a meek smile, which amused both May and Pikachu.
"Truthfully, I can't say for certain that my theory is correct," Professor Birch admitted. "However, it all seems too interconnected to be a coincidence. Kyogre and Groudon's disappearance, the sudden appearance of Primal Energy, Latios and Latias appearing around areas where Primal Energy was detected, and now this… Although I have no concrete evidence, I fully believe everything is connected, and I will not stop until I find the truth."
"Nor will I," Professor Cersie added. "And although a majority of our time will be spent on solving the mystery behind Primal Energy, we also intend to work toward solving other mysteries."
A holographic screen popped up behind Professor Birch, showing off a picture of a giant Scorbunny
"The Galar region is home to many incredible and unsolved mysteries," Professor Birch claimed before looking up at the image of Scorbunny. "One of its biggest mysteries is a phenomenon known as Dynamaxing that allows Pokémon to grow gigantic. Some Pokémon, like our residential Scorbunny, are special. They can undergo a special kind of form of Dynamax, known as Gigantamax."
The professor turned his attention back toward the audience with a smile.
"We don't know much about Dynamax or Gigantamax so far, but what we do know is that for Pokémon to reach either form, they must be exposed to an energy source found only in the Galar region, known as Galar particles."
"Groudon and Kyogre's disappearance, The mystery behind Dynamaxing, and many more strange occurrences that revolve around Pokémon we cannot yet explain… We hope to one day solve them. Because to know Pokémon is to know the world, and that is the key to making it a better world for each and everyone of us."
A smile appeared on Ash, Goh, and May's face, excited for the adventures that were to come. However, unknown to Ash and May, who couldn't see her due to being off screen, and Goh, who was too busy focusing on the presentation, Chloe was watching the presentation with interest, smiling at everything she heard about and saw.
Both Professor Cerise and Professor Birch bowed slightly as they looked toward the crowd with a smile.
"Thank you so much for joining us…," Professor Cerise bid farewell.
"...We hope to see you all soon. Once we've made a new discovery, of course," Professor Birch added
It's a world full of dreams, adventure, and Pokémon! So, let's go, as the journey continues!
Alright, hey guys, Phoenix here, and I hope you enjoyed this chapter of "Pokémon Journeys Through Hoenn And Beyond". Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, a lot of stuff came up. A lot of stuff happened in the anime the last time I updated this story. Ash won the Masters Tournament, Ash and Goh said goodbye to each other, Ash reunited with some of his friends, and then after that, Ash's journey continued for him, but ended for us. And now, we have Pokémon Horizons.
It honestly still kind of hits me that Ash is gone, but I'm always going to remember the fun I had with him on his journey. So, I'll just have to suck it up and continue working on this Journeys reimagining. Though hopefully the next chapter doesn't take as long to release as this one did.
Anyway, make sure to review, give me your honest criticisms, and follow and favorite if you liked the chapter. Hope you enjoyed, and until next time, later!
