Philip had encountered quite a few aliens in his time with SHIELD but he had never heard of anything like this species called Guo'ould. The idea of a parasitic alien race that co-opted human hosts was something his universe didn't have. Something he was quite grateful for.

A entire storage room had been cleared out and bunks set in for his personnel and now most of them were there watching and waiting.

"I honestly thought there would be more fighting by now," Ava said leaning against the wall near the door. A few of the mutants had taken up guard position just in case.

"I have a feeling we're going to have quite a lot of fighting in the long run," Clint said with a pointed look towards Philip.

The door opened and Daniel Jackson stumbled in before stopping.

"Oh, sorry. I think I should have knocked first,"

"You're fine, Doctor Jackson," Coulson said ushering him in. "As quickly as we got moved out made a few of us on edge. Hopefully you have an update?"

"I think?" Daniel said with a bit of confusion. He pushed up his glasses and held out a book.

"I was digging into Hemera. It's a guo'ould we have never heard of nor spoken of by the System Lords...that's the ruling party over the species. Like I mentioned in earlier when I was explaining to you what they are, most have taken names we would recognize from Earth myths."

"And Hemera?" Natasha asked.

"Strangely, she's a Greek Primordial god, the representation of day. One of the three sisters. The others being Erebus for Darkness and Nyx for Night," Daniel continued holding out the book that had a pen making the page.

"And it means something that you haven't heard it mentioned?"

"The guo'ould are arrogant, selfish creatures who no nothing of violence and power," the giant hulk of a man said stepping through the door. Coulson had not quite figured out who he was but the gold tattoo made him think that this human might not actually be from Earth.

"If there was a false god of any renown power, I would have heard mention of it," Teal'C continued. "I have never encountered a Hemera or his Jaffa in combat."

"Something up, Teal'C?" Daniel asked.

"The General has proposed that the guo'ould meet on a neutral ground and then come directly to Stargate Command for the meeting."

Daniel snorted sarcastically. "bet that went over well."

"They agreed."

Philip could not quite understand the surprise here but this was an entire world he had no knowledge of.

"They...agreed?"

"Yes, Daniel Jackson. He has only requested the presence of his First Prime and two of his servants which the General has agreed to."

"I need to be in that meeting," Philip said.

"The general has not yet decided if they should have access to the ones they are asking for."

Okay. That was not going to fly.

Coulson looked pointedly at Doctor Jackson. "We did NOT come here to be prisoners or held for our safety. We came looking for clues on a weapon to stop Sovereign. If you're unwilling to help us or too nervous, then stand aside. It's our reality at risk."

The tension in the air shifted as the SHIELD agent felt everyone tense up, ready to fight if called upon. The two who entered must have sensed it too.

"I'll talk to Jack, see what we can do," Daniel said assuredly. "I doubt this Hemera is going to want to talk much with us anyhow."

Thought it felt like half a day, it was really only two hours until the Colonel who Philip guessed was Jack O'Neill had returned with an escort.

"Looks like you've been summoned," he joked sardonically.

"Clint, Storm," Philip said with a nod and the two immediately moved to his side. They had discussed in advance.

"Just you," Jack said.

"No," Philip answered. "The more hear it the less likely information is going to be lost. If I'm killed, the team will be at square one. Agent Barton and Storm are team leaders for their sections and are going to hear the same thing. Carry on, Colonel."

Jack appeared to want to argue for a moment but shrugged and motioned them out the door. The three made their way through the twisting hallways. Coulson did his best to try to remember the way back but there were to many turns to completely keep track.

When the doors of the conference room opened, Philip was greeted by the presence of more Air Force Security, General Hammond and the rest of the people they met earlier and a rather beautiful dark haired woman in flowing toga and robes seated in the center.

Another woman with a golden eight pointed star tattooed on her forehead watched carefully at their movement. Two men in simple clothes with black tattoos stood at the back quiet and demure.

The brown eyes of the woman fastened on Philip and his stomach twisted just a little. There was something in those eyes. Curiosity and danger that he could not quite understand. Taking the seat offered to him General Hammond cleared his throat.

"Since we are all here," he started.

"Has the Dark One arrived to your worlds?" the woman started, her voice strangely flanged and low completely ignoring the General.

"No," Philip started carefully. "We were warned by the artifact Luminary. We have no timeline as of yet."

"If you have not yet sensed his presence, you have time," she continued.

"Excuse me," Daniel interrupted. "But I've got ask. Why have we not heard of you among the System Lords? Why is it now that you show up?"

Hemera turned her eyes towards Daniel, her eyebrows furrowed for a moment before they softened.

"Because of the ones who came before," Hemera said with a wave of her hand. "Lumos came to me in the early times of the System Lords, when Ra had just assumed control. Lumos showed me what was coming and gave me something to keep secret. I took my people and we retreated to the farthest corner of known space, only dealing with others when needed. She told me that ones would come searching for my information."

"And what is this information?" Coulson asked.

"I do not know. I have not read or seen it," Hemera said with a shrug.

"You haven't seen it?" Jack said incredulously.

"I am-"

The movement of the golden Jaffa was subtle but quick. A warning not to continue speaking.

"Chai'hi. Tap Telkor remoc," Hemera said quietly. She returned to English. "My bodyguard is concerned that to answer your question will endanger me. It is time for this journey to come to an end."

She straightened and bit and continued.

"I am a guo'ould queen like Egeria and Hathor who I hear you have encountered," Hemera continued. "I do not have the luxury of blanking my prim'ta so I have not seen it so the genetic memory cannot be passed to others."

That seemed to have made sense. Philip was still trying to get past that it was the parasite talking and not the human in front of him.

"So where is this item?" Jack asked.

"It is hidden and secure on a world that only my First Prime knows. They have passed the planet's name from one to another so that when the time comes, it won't be lost."

"You don't seem so...evil," Daniel said with a short laugh.

Hemera's smile widened slightly. Coulson was not sure if he should be relieved by it.

"I retreated before my people took on their evil ways. I do not carry their crimes in my memory. But do not assume I won't defend myself."

"Where is the planet?" General Hammond asked the woman at Hemera's side.

"I will not tell you until we are off of your planet," the woman said. "We can take a choppai to the coordinates from a neutral world."

"Not going to happen," Jack interjected.

"I will not risk the life of my mistress by given up the only thing that keeps you at bay," The woman snapped back. "We may be isolated but we have heard of the atrocities Tau'Ri commit."

"These are honorable people," Teal'C said for the first time from the corner of the room. He seemed to have some sort of staff in his hand.

"Useless words coming from a shol'va," the first prime answered with a sneer.

"General," Coulson said turning to the human leader. "I don't see we have a choice. I'm happy to take my team as we're capable of defending ourselves. There is no reason for your Earth to get involved. The risk is all ours."

"I agree that we have no choice," Hammond said. "because if any of the data you said was true, a turf war with a guo'ould will be the least of our problems."

Jack opened his mouth to speak but Hammond raised his hand to silence him.

"You're not going alone though. SG-1 will accompany whoever you send on this mission."

Hemera gave a slight nod.

"My prime will give you coordinates to a neutral world. The sooner we go, the better."

SG-1 only took twenty minutes to get armed and ready while Philip had the more difficult task of picking out who was going to go. The idea of three teams was not going to work anymore as they had no clue what they were walking into. Storm and Barton agreed that changes had to be made.

"Thoughts?" Coulson asked as they got into a corner of their storage room.

"This is wild," Clint said.

"Besides that," Coulson responded with a chuckle.

"We're going to an unknown world. I assume you'll be the one leading," Storm started. "Take Kitty as she has the ability to phase through matter. You might need her if this pace is really secure."

"We will accompany you," Sif said with Volstagg standing beside her. "You'll need some heavy hitters which we can do."

"I"m not comfortable just staying behind," Rhodey commented.

"We need someone to help Storm if things get out of control here," Coulson pointed out.

Within a few moments after their plan had been made, Colonel O'Neill arrived to escort them to the Stargate. Their weapons had been returned to them so when the met Hemera and her entourage waiting, Phil felt prepared again.

The inner ring of the Stargate began to move with each chevron being locked in place. It took everything in him to keep from stepping back when the energy vortex exploded from the opening and then stabilized into the shimmering white-blue sheen.

Hemera began to walk forward with no hesitation while SG-1 proceeded next.

"Just don't hesitate," Daniel said as he passed Philip with a pat on the shoulder.

Stepping through the stargate was a trip, both in reality and the feeling. It was something neither Coulson or anyone could put into words. When he stepped out on the other side, he was greeted by golden walls and low light with what looked like cargo boxes around.

"Shit," he heard O'Neill say as he unslung his weapon followed by the rest of the team.

"This is the belly of a Ha'tak warship," Teal'C stated.

"Obviously," Hemera responded waving her hand and dismissing the guards that had arrived. "If I had told you, would you have gone?"

"She's got a point," Daniel said with a sigh.

"The planet in question does not have a choppai so we will need to take a ship there. I do not have time to play games with you Tau'ri if the life of our reality and those of these outsiders is in jeopardy," Hemera continued.

"You are free to either come to the command center or stay in the cargo hold."

With that, the guo'ould left.
