Chapter 25
Fight
Kara turned back to the Colossal Titan with the others.
'Bertholdt. Reiner. How could you? After everything we went through in Cadet Corps and come to find out you both are traitors like Annie.' Kara thought. Kara gasped as the Colossal lifted his hand from the wall. He swung it back.
"Shit." Kara said.
"Move! Everyone!" Hange yelled, jumping. Kara ran and grabbed Christa as she flew into the air as the Colossal brought down his arm, knocking soldiers off.
"It's got Ymir!" Christa said, looking at Ymir, who was in the Colossal's hand. Kara gritted her teeth as she saw Ymir and another soldier in the Colossal's hand.
"She's not the only one!" Kara called. The Colossal tosses the Soldier and Ymir into his mouth and closes his mouth. "Damn it." Christa gasps. Kara lands on the side of the wall with Christa in her arm. Christa was clinging to her.
"No. This isn't happening!" Sasha said.
"How can Bertholdt?" Armin said.
"Fucking traitors." Kara said, through gritted teeth. Hange gritted her teeth.
"Soldiers! Prepare to attack!" Hange yelled. Everyone looked at Hange. "The Colossal Titan doesn't walk away from this!" Hange pushed off from the wall and flipped in the air. "It's a threat to all mankind!" Kara pushed off and shot her hooks up as the Soldiers head to the top. Kara and one soldier drop Christa and Connie off on top of the wall. "Swarm and terminate!" Hange yelled. They get above the Colossal Titan. The Colossal Titan swings his arm out and Kara moved out of the way of the punch. He keeps swinging as they get around him. Kara looked him in the eyes as she passes. She clenched her jaw. They get behind him and get high up in the air. "He's wide open! Slice the nape!" Hange called as they head for the nape. The Titan roars and steam heads towards them. Kara gasped as she put her arms in front of her.
"What the hell!" Kenji yells.
"Shit. It's to hot!" Kara yelled.
"All of you fall back!" Hange yelled. They shoot out of the steam and Kara lands on the wall.
"Kara!" Conny and Christa run over. She looked at her hand. It was red from the heat.
"I'm fine." Kara said. Steam was still coming off the Colossal Titan.
"He's vanishing." Hange said. Armin and Kara were watching him.
"I don't know. Something's different here. The last time he disappeared, it was more or less instantaneous. He's maintaining his form to emit heat." Armin said. Kara gasped.
"He's protecting himself." Kara said. Armin nodded in agreement. Armin shoots one of the hooks at the Colossal Titan. The steam sends the hook flying away. Armin brings the hook back.
"As long as he generates steam our rigs are useless!" Armin said. Kara looked at Hange.
"What do we do now, Section Commander?" Kara asked. Hange looked at them.
"Now? Nothing. Except wait. Kara. I want you to stay with Christa and Conny. Make sure they don't try anything stupid." Hange said.
"Yes, mam." Kara said.
"Squads three and four take position behind the target. Rashad has command." Hange said.
"Got it." Rashad said.
"Squad two, stay put. Lauda has command.
"Understood!" Lauda said. The squads got in position.
"How long he can act like a blast furnace remains to be seen. But he'll come out of there eventually. When he does, we'll rush the big bastard. Listen up. I want you to forget about taking them alive. Destroy them. No second thoughts." Hange said. Kara and Armin gasped, but nodded. "Armin, you're with me. Right. Ssquad One, look alive." Hange ran towards the wall with Squad one and Armin. "We've got a date with the Armored Titan." Kara went over to Christa and Conny.
"Your not going with them?" Conny asked.
"No. I'm ordered to keep an eye on you and Christa." Kara said.
"Kara. Move Christa and Conny further back." Nifa said. Kara nodded. "Take the injured with you." Conny pulled a man onto his back as Kara and CHrista dragged two soldiers away from the Colossal.
"Ymir." Kara looked at Christa. "She's not dead. It just isn't possible. I know it." Tears were in her eyes. Kara wrapped her arms around Christa and hugged her.
"She'll be fine. If she's anything like Eren. She'll live." Kara said. Christa hugged her back.
"What about Reiner and Bertholdt?" Conny asked. Kara and Christa looked at Conny. "They're screwed! Neither one of them has their ODM gear." Kara looked back at the Colossal Titan and Armored. Kara gritted her teeth.
"Reiner and Bertholdt are the Armored and Colossal Titan, Conny. I don't know what will happen to them." Kara said. Conny and Christa gasped. Kara could hear the fight between Eren and Reiner down below. Kara, Conny, and Christa get the injured moved. Kara went to the side to see Reiner approaching Eren as Eren was getting up.
"No. Stay down. You can't win in a fistfight!" Armin yelled. Conny and Christa joined her. "Make a break for the wall! Eren, please! Don't be rash!" Eren roars as Reiner approaches.
"Is he blinded by rage?" Conny asked.
"I don't know." Kara said as Reiner punches at Eren. Eren dodges the punch at the last minute. He wraps his arms around Reiner and Kara's eyes widen as Eren uses his foot to help make Reiner fall back. Eren slams him into the ground.
"Wait. Isn't that Annie's move?" Conny asked.
"It is." Kara said with wide eyes. Eren pulls a fist back, but Reiner pushes him off, but Eren wraps his legs around Reiner's neck and held his arm. "Come on, Eren." Reiner tries to stand up. Eren slams Reiner's head into the ground. Eren grabs his arm and pulls it back. Blood comes out as Eren roars. Reiner's hand is ripped off and is thrown into the air. Eren stands up. Reiner looks at Eren.
"He did it." Christa said.
"It's not over yet." Kara said seeing the steam on Reiner's arm. Reiner stood up. Mikasa came back to the wall with Armin after trying to get Eren to the wall. Reiner walks towards Eren, but Eren turns and runs to the wall. Kara sighed. Reiner started walking towards Eren.
"We should have Eren escape when possible." Nifa said.
"No. I don't think Reiner would let him escape. So that's out of the question." Kara said. Hannes landed on the wall.
"Hannes." Kara said.
"The Colossal Titan. Why did he show up here of all places?!" Hannes said. He looked at Kara. "What's going on with Eren? Where is he?"
"He and the others are down here." Christa said, pointing down. Hannes ran over and looked down to see Eren's Titan form. Hange landed on Eren's shoulder.
"What? So I take it that's his Titan form, huh?" Hannes asked.
"It is." Conny said. Hange finished talking to Eren and goes back on the wall. Reiner suddenly charges at Eren.
"Damnit. He's fast." Kara said as Reiner tackled Eren into the wall. Eren falls to the ground and Reiner started punching him. Eren grabs for the leg and Reiner continues to punch Eren. Eren turned his head from the punches. "C'mon Eren. Throw him!" Eren kicks Reiner off him and stands up. Reiner tackles Eren to the ground, but Eren wraps his arms and legs around Reiner and pins him. "YES!" Kara jumped in excitement. Mikasa dived down and slashed at Reiner's leg. Reiner fell.
"Awesome. We got this fight." Conny yelled. Eren pulled back and chunks of the back fell off.
"We've got this!" Kara yelled.
"Go for it, Eren! Rip the traitor's head off." Kenji yelled. Reiner dug his fingers into the ground and started dragging him and Eren across the ground.
"What is he doing?" Christa asked. The back was starting to crack more. Reiner comes to a stop.
"He stopped." Conny said. Kara followed where Reiner and Eren were and realized they were right below Bertholdt. Reiner's Titan roars.
"That can't be good." Kara said. There was no sign of Titans, but Kara knew Reiner didn't roar without a reason.
"I don't like this." Conny said. Kara gritted her teeth. "There had to be a reason for that scream." Bones cracking came. Kara spun to look at the Colossal Titan. "What the? No, no, no, no!" The ribs holding the Colossal Titan broke and he started to fall over towards Eren and Reiner.
"Damn it." Kara said. Kara ran to the side. "Above you! Look out!" Kara screamed down to her friends. Kara grabbed Christa and Conny and threw them on the wall as an explosion of steam and wind comes flying up and they held on for dear life. She heard screams and yells from the other soldiers. Christa, Kara, Conny, and Hannes held onto the wall. The Armored Titan roars. Kara looks down to see Reiner bite into Eren's nape and rip it off. "No." Bertholdt comes out of the Colossal with ODM gear on and carrying Ymir. The Armored Titan starts running and Bertholdt connects to him. Kara gritted her teeth.
"EREN!" Kara and Armin yell as the Armored Titan disappears.
AN: Yay. Onto the rescue mission for Eren. Not my favorite part but oh well. Till next time.
