A Confused Ork's WAAAGH 2 - or 'Ork iz not Lood, Dose Orcz ar feek onez!' (40k x Taimaninverse/Lilith-soft)

EDIT: This chapter was commissioned/requested on Pxtreon.

Cheri felt at odds with himself.

Many times the Ork would stop to think why he felt so weird in regard to his current life, even though he was happy with it. Kaddy was someone that he couldn't help but smile at due to how much care and trust she put into him and his actions. She was a big dum-dum at times, but the woman was always there to defend him.

The scary old daddy of hers? She would be so fierce in protecting Cheri. The other 'ningiaz'? Kaddy would be there to swear he was a good boi. That what he was- a good boi and a good guard for Kaddy. She was strong, but she was still important enough to warrant protection from others. So important that everyone in her family was actually scared of Cheri due to his 'Orcish' appearance.

This was the second time after waking up that he felt perplexed by the term. After all 'Orc' was not 'Ork'. He was 'Ork' and he asked what an 'Orc' was. The description suggested that they were the same by appearance- well, mostly the same as he didn't need the 'umie's junk the orcs have. They were also capable of violating people with those, which was stupid.

Torture beyond battles felt tasteless. It wasn't the 'right violence' within the mindset an Ork is inducted into WAAAGHs, and that is something that Cheri told Kaddy. In fact, Kaddy was extremely curious about what Cheri was and what he used to do.

The WAAAGHs, the fight against the fierce 'umiez, and then how he should have died. He was worried that Kaddy, being also a 'umie, would have lost faith in him when he told her that, but the woman just kept asking questions and he explained his situation.

Why did he do all of those 'bad things'? He felt compelled to do so. Even now, violence was a pleasure that Cheri as a Ork craved. But it wasn't as intense as it once was. There was none of the 'two voices' screaming at him to lose himself in the pleasure. He was just there to listen and go on to pursue the purest brutality within savagery and the wildest savagery within brutality.

Still, even though the voices were gone and the desire was easier to handle, it still was there to make him crave blood to spill. Kaddy listened, she took notes, she assured him that he would not be forced to be just a 'big jolly green paperweight for her' and... a week later, he was following her in a brief incursion against a 'demonic' invasion.

A small tribe of Goblin had attacked a small settlement of the place where Kaddy lived. She had been assigned to deal with that, but she wanted him to join her too. Eagerly so, Cheri had readied the gift the nice woman had given him as he had requested- materials that were then shaped into the best of this Ork's current desire.

A fire-blasting battle-ax! Which also used explosive grenades of magical power!

The thing was heavy and cumbersome to most people, but Cheri could carry it with ease and he proved how much effective it was against the weak goblins. Kaddy was enjoying this violence too, earnestly calling for him to be ruthless on those monsters.

Spilling the guts of those foes, making them squeal in pain, seeing them run away from the wild Ork, and then tremble before him as if they could beg their way out of his brutality! It was all reminiscing of his old life, while also giving him a fresher view of what made him feel alive in such an occasion.

The incursion was fun and he enjoyed the entire effort without much to worry about. But as the brawl ended, something strange happened. There came back a sense of emptiness and peace that left Cheri in a relatively neutral mood.

This was then disrupted by the 'second part of the mission'. Instead of finishing there as the mission was supposed to have them do, Kaddy had Cheri do a few strange tasks. First, he had to remove debris and retrieve bodies. Some looked pretty normal for 'umiez, but others appeared extremely burned and charred.

Ugly sights and the stench was unbearable once he was done rallying those corpses. The next bit was to dig several body-sized holes on the dirt, those soon filled with a corpse each. The process was solemn as Cherry picked up a strangely melancholic tone from Kaddy as she issue those orders.

Once he was done burying those bodies, Cheri sat beside a kneeling Kaddy as she was praying over the graves. It took ten minutes for it all and soon they were walking back home.

"Why?" He curtly asked, and he was half-expected Kaddy to ask for an elaboration.

Surprisingly enough (or maybe not) Kaddy provided him with the answer to his deep question.

"Burial for us humans is a need for the sake of the spirit. We have a religion, we have Gods, and we have to show respect for those that died without having a chance to fight for their survival," Kaddy explained breathlessly, as if driven by a force that Cheri couldn't see but could hear through her voice. "We both can fight for our lives, but there will be chances where we will not be able to do so. How would you like your body to then be handled?"

Cheri blinked at this. He had never considered that odd question. In fact, he doubted any Ork ever thought of that. Bodies were bodies, war was war. But what if 'umiez were not just meant for war? After all, 'umiez were so soft and so easy to squish, so maybe they weren't breed for battle. Some were, but not all of them.

What about Cheri?

As much as he wanted to say he was still the same Ork, it would be a lie to himself and Kaddy. And he didn't want to lie to Kaddy. The need to WAAAGH was barely there, the 'umiez were tolerable, and he felt like this sort of agreement of having violence at a reasonable pace was quite appeasing of his needs.

Plus, the strange purpose he felt in protecting Kaddy felt even greater than any other task from the past. It wasn't just a step for something greater meant for many- no, Cheri felt selfishly happy in doing this job for only a single individual.

His first and only friend.

"I would like Kaddy to handle my body," He replied quietly, the woman almost tripping as he said that. "Sumething wrong?"

She frowned at him as the two stopped.

"Cheri, I don't want to bury you. Because I want you to live for as long as you will need to. So... don't die unless I tell you."

Despite how silly that request sounded, Cheri offered a big-toothed grin. "Sure ding, Kaddy."

The woman offered him one of her bright smile, but Cheri also felt something shining more in that response. Something that stirred in him a sense of genuine interest in upholding this request to the very end. Even though he heard there were some scary strong foes that would be far bigger than mere goblins...

Cheri was going to show them that he was a True Ork and smack 'em dumb!
