A/N: Set during Stargate SG1 episode "Fair Game" and Sanctuary "Revelations Part 1". In this story the timelines match. Hope you enjoy.
"Oh come on Daniel, how was I supposed to know they'd get all offended with me?" Jack O'Neill asks Daniel Jackson as they sit around recently promoted major Carter's lab. Or Sam and Jack sit while Daniel paces and Teal'c stands quietly next to the closed door.
"Jack, you didn't even last fives minutes inside that room!"
"We all knew I wasn't a good choice; I wouldn't like a Goa'uld even if they came bathed in gold. Carter, help me out here." For the first time the three men turn to look at Sam who's still looking at her laptop
"Sam, Sam, SAM" Daniel finally shouts, and she looks at them
"Huh?"
"Are you unwell major Carter?" Teal'c asks
" No, I'm fine, I'm fine, I just wasn't…" she's cut of by her lab phone ringing
Sam picks the phone up and says " Carter!" not ten seconds later she answer's with "James, I'm already aware of the situation." She takes a deep breath before continuing, noticing the three other people in the room looking at her "When will you be arriving… I'll be there as soon as I can, don't tell Helen." And with that she hangs up, turning around to face the others.
She clears her throat " I need to make a few phone calls."
"Right I've got to go back to the snakes, have fun Carter" Jack quickly leaves the room follow by Teal'c, but Daniel hesitates with a slight frown and turns back to Sam "You ok?"
"Yeah… If you don't mind?"
"I'll see you later Sam." and after he leaves Sam picks up the phone again
"Doctor Samantha Magnus speaking."
