...I'm not sorry for this.
This story was a random verbal RP me and one of my partners were doing for fun in our down time and I loved the absurdity of the concept so much, I just had to start making it a story.
The idea was initially done with an OC, but I love Jaune too much not to make him this ungodly broken.
As can be guessed by the title, this is a story where Jaune is essentially a Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z/Super. That's to say, he will have abilities very similar to those of DB characters. I'm not sure how deep into DB I'm planning on going for the sake of his powers, but he will most certainly be EXTREMELY over powered.
So like all my stories, you get the usual warnings. There will be taboos, things that will offend people (What doesn't now a days). People will be OOC, especially Jaune, and I'm not going to take the story too seriously all the time. (That's to say, there will be serious moments, but I essentially only write for the fun of it now.)
Pairing warnings, this is still, like always, a polyamorous story remnant of a harem, centered around Jaune, and also including MALE characters, such as Ren, and maybe even a little incest. 100 percent confirmed to be in the polyship are:
Team RWBY
Team JNPR
Velvet
Penny
The Malachite Twins
Neo
Sun
So, sit back and enjoy another random story from my deranged mind!
Note: There are heavy Blazblue elements in this as well. Just sorta happened that way.
Chapter 1: The Wheel of Fate is Turning
Jaune Arc had lost everything. From a young age, he had known pain. The pain of losing his mother and father. The pain of losing all but two of his sisters. The pain of being abandoned when he was thought a monster.
The Arc Mansion had gone up in flames. It had happened so suddenly. One night, 6 year old Jaune was being read a bedtime story by his mother, the next, he's awoken to the outside world, his home on fire and the screams of his siblings scarring the night air.
To his side, his elder sisters Amethyst and Saphron lay unconscious. His eyes widened when he saw his father limping out of the flaming building with his younger sister on his back. However, he would never make it pass the threshold as the building erupted into a massive ball of flames and the rest of the architecture collapsed, taking his father and sister along with it.
Jaune knew he screamed. But he didn't hear a thing. The fire was no accident.
He saw it. Just a glimpse of a black figure floating above the wreckage before flying off into the night. But as it flew away, other lesser beings began to converge on the flaming house. Various grimm of all sizes began to swarm. From small Beowulf, to large Ursa, and even a few Jackalope.
The fear in Jaune was almost palpable. However, all he could hear was the beating of his own heart. Even as his sisters awakened, his gaze was kept on the approaching hoard of grimm. He felt Amethyst and Saphron pulling on him, begging him to come and run. But he knew running would do nothing. They would be chased.
They would be killed.
The thought of himself dying angered him. The thought of his remaining family dying infuriated him.
Soon, he no longer felt the girls pull on him. Instead, he heard them gasp. For a moment he felt weightless.
Then everything went white.
He came to once more, this time to the sight of snow and ash mingling all around him. The Arc Mansion blaze was gone, in its place a smoldering pile of what he once called home. He heard sniffling behind him and turned to see his two sisters crying, but when he met their gaze, they both looked away in fear.
He was confused for a moment, but his attention was drawn to the man standing over his sisters, putting blankets on them. His dark hair and slender figure was unforgettable.
The man turned to face Jaune and the young boy immediately saw the grim visage of whom he assumed was their savior. The man's faded red eyes locked onto the boy and Jaune felt his insides run cold.
"What the hell was that kid?" The man asked, his raspy voice seeming far more tired than normal.
"Wh-what?" Jaune's words made him realize how tired he actually was. His body ached and he felt as if he had been tossed around for hours by a bulldozer.
"You don't remember?" Qrow questioned more to himself than to Jaune.
"He's...he's a monster!" Amethyst's voice cried out. "He killed all the grimm like an animal!"
Qrow frowned at the girls words. He had seen what happened and he couldn't exactly disagree with the girl.
He had been flying over the area when he saw the explosion. When he flew down to see what had happened, he was shocked to see a little boy no older than his niece Yang absolutely tearing into a horde of grimm with his bare hands. The boy seemed feral as he screamed and seemed to speed from one enemy to the next. The boy was covered black in the tar like blood of the grimm; him killing them so fast that the blood didn't have time to evaporate before he was covered in more.
Qrow was floored. The boy didn't stop, punching his hands like claws through the grimm. And as if his eyes were playing tricks on him, he could've sworn he saw the boy absorbing some type of red energy from the creatures. In only a few seconds of watching, Jaune had finished off all the grimm before letting loose a terrible wail and collapsing into unconsciousness.
Qrow grabbed the boy and pulled him over to whom he presumed were the boys sisters. However, and somewhat understandably, the girls feared the young boy. He had exuded such a powerful...energy as well. Qrow didn't know what it was but it definitely didn't feel like aura. Plus, seeing their younger brother essentially go feral and tear grimm literally limb from limb must have been terrifying.
Looking between the children, Qrow saw the confusion and hurt in Jaune's eyes at Amethyst's words. He looked to the oldest of the group, Saphron, and saw that she was biting her lip. She looked as if she wanted to comfort her younger brother, but at the same time, was clearly scared of him.
With another tired sigh, Qrow took out his scroll and called a few numbers.
In the hour it took for a few bullhead to get to his location, Amethyst had thrown a rock at Jaune, screaming at him about being a monster. Saphron had essentially gone catatonic, not knowing whether to stop Amethyst or join her. Jaune had placed himself away from the girls and cried himself to sleep at Amethyst's animosity.
Qrow questioned the girl as to her anger towards the boy, asking if she truly thought her little brother were a monster. Her answered confused him even more.
"He set the fire!" She screamed.
From what the little girl could explain, after their mother put Jaune to bed, Amethyst got up to use the restroom. She heard a strange noise coming for her brothers room and when she went in, she saw the boy floating off his bed and glowing with a white and red aura. She thought something was possessing her brother until he suddenly shouted out and seemed to throw glowing balls of fire out of his hands. The balls were strong enough to burn through the walls and ceiling of his room and immediately start the blaze that ultimately killed everyone else.
Qrow couldn't believe it. He wondered if the boy had somehow subconsciously unlocked his semblance. However, from what he saw of the boy attacking the grimm, he hadn't thrown any fire out of his hands.
The small girls words seemed to have resonated with Saphron as well, and the girl seemed to shy away from Jaune just as his other sister. Qrow could already see keeping them together would be an issue. Plus, he knew he needed to know what the hell had happened to Jaune.
Once the bullheads arrived and several huntsman stepped out, Qrow gathered up the children while keeping Jaune away from the two girls. It didn't stop Amethyst from glaring at Jaune though. Qrow ignored most of the huntsman, waiting for a specific person. Soon enough, a beautiful blonde woman with her hair in a bun stepped off the bullhead and briskly walked over to the man and the children.
"Mr. Branwen, I'm sorry it took so long." The woman gazed at the smoldering home she had known belonged to the Arc Family and gave a silent prayer. She looked to the children and her eyes softened. "What were you doing here?" The woman questioned.
"Thanks for coming at all Glenda. And of course I was looking for Raven…" Qrow admitted.
"I see…" The woman known as Glenda lamented the loss of the admirable young woman. She had deserted her team and family four years ago and her brother had been to hell and back looking for her. Glenda couldn't say she much cared for the woman, regardless of how strong of a huntress she used to be. The woman had abandoned a daughter not even two years old at the time, and a distraught boyfriend. And no one truly knew why.
To top off the fact that Summer Rose had died several months prior, it was no wonder Qrow was once again looking for his sister. Yang had lost two mothers, and now Ruby had lost hers. Qrow wanted someone to be the mother figure to the children. She just hoped he would understand that Raven simply wasn't it.
"Anyway, I was hoping you and Oz could help me out with this." He said motioning to the children. "I already tried looking for any family they may have, but it seems like the Arc family had been reduced to just the main family a while ago."
Glenda frowned. The Arc family used to be a large and powerful family, however, the last few generations saw the family slowly fade into obscurity. It would mean even Ozpin would have trouble finding even distant relatives for the children to be sent to.
"We'll do what we can, Qrow. Thank you for contacting us so quickly." Glenda was truly surprised at Qrow. The man had been taking his job far more seriously after Raven's desertion, but especially after Summer's death. But she was also worried that the man was working himself to death. "Will you be returning with us to Beacon?"
Qrow shook his head. He looked down at Jaune and sighed. "Nah. I'll be taking this kid with me somewhere safe. There's some things I need to check out. I'll let Oz know what I find out."
Glenda rose an eyebrow and almost protested Qrow separating the children. However, when she looked at the fear and animosity coming from Saphron and Amethyst respectively, directed at their younger brother, she knew Qrow had seen something she had not. "Very well. Please inform me of the situation as it progresses."
"Thanks Glenda…" Qrow nodded before moving Jaune away from the girls. Saphron looked startled and almost ran after her brother but Amethyst stood glaring. However, seeing the tears on Jaune's face as he looked away, Amethyst felt a small pang of guilt in her heart.
"Wh-where are we going?" Jaune asked Qrow once they had reached a second bullhead away from the first.
Qrow was silent for a moment. He was sure the shock still hadn't truly set in for any of the children. Jaune seemed far away at the same time. With so many things on his mind, Qrow didn't know how to truly answer Jaune. So he simply told him what he would have told himself in his shoes.
"We're going home kid."
The 10 Years Between…
Qrow had initially thought of taking Jaune to Taiyang. However, he knew the death of Summer was far too fresh for the Rose/Xiao Long family. Even more, he didn't know if Jaune was truly as dangerous as his sisters seemed to think.
So instead, Qrow took Jaune to one of his many safe houses. This particular one was on a large island in the ocean between Sanus and Anima, though it was far closer to the Kingdom of Vale than to the far eastern Kingdom of Mistral.
It was an island known as Ars Magus, which housed three large townships. Qrow had a safe house set up near Noel Village, where he also personally knew the orphanage mother Celica Mercury.
As he suspected, the shock hadn't fully set in for the young Arc boy. When they finally reached Ars Magus, Jaune finally broke down and unleashed all his sorrow. Qrow was uncomfortable consoling the child, but did the best he could. The same as he did for Yang and Ruby when Summer died…
Qrow remained with Jaune for a week, only leaving to gather food and to speak with Ozpin and Glenda. From observing Jaune, he couldn't feel any of the feral power he had unleashed on the grimm back at his previous home. The boy seemed like a normal kid, albeit, his aura was massive. His aura being unlocked at all was the only indication Qrow had to whatever happening before being real. At such a young age, he doubted the kids parents would've unlocked his aura for him.
After Jaune became comfortable around Qrow, and his grieving lessened, Qrow offered to train Jaune. He knew it was pretty early, but the child would need to protect himself from then on out. Losing his family in such a way, Jaune had immediately said yes. His hatred for the grimm was something Qrow could relate to.
The two lived and trained together for a year before Qrow told Jaune that they would need to part ways for longer chunks of time. Jaune had come to see Qrow as a big brother/father figure, and funnily enough, Qrow saw Jaune as a little brother/son. However, Ozpin had been sending Qrow on more frequent missions that had him away from Jaune for longer periods of time.
Instead of leaving Jaune on his own, he introduced him to Celica. Though Jaune wouldn't be an official orphan at the orphanage, he was able to stay there and play with the other children. As well, Celica was happy that Jaune would help out around Noel Village as well. Beyond just helping though, Jaune was learning.
The child was gifted in many aspects, going from learning cooking from local and exotic chefs, to learning how to use the forge. Jaune developed a love for both cooking and smithing, though he mainly attributed it to a love of creating.
His skills excelled so quickly that eventually the smiths and cooks of Noel sent word of a talented 7 year old to the other two villages of Ars Magus; Jin Village and Ragna Village.
So for the next three years, Jaune would travel around Ars Magus learning the crafts of cooking and smithing.
At ten years old, Qrow returned and informed Jaune he would have another entire year with him. The missions from before had seemed to have slowed down, but Qrow's own mission of figuring out Jaune hadn't progressed at all.
It was on Jaune's 11th birthday, however, that Qrow finally saw something note worthy. Qrow had been training Jaune on how to use swords and scythes, as well as close and mid ranged weaponry, though the boy picked up on long range weaponry all his own. However, during a training session against several Ursa, Jaune was disarmed of his sword and took a heavy blow from an Ursa.
Qrow was occupied with facing two Ursa as well as a Major and couldn't immediately go to the kids aid. He was stunned to see the kid not panic to be honest.
Instead, he saw Jaune grit his teeth and somehow flare his aura. At least, that's what Qrow believed it was. Jaune's hair seemed to spike up just a tiny bit, but not too noticeably so. His eyes seemed to take on a shine as well and a flame like white aura appeared around his body. Jaune thus proceeded to decimate all of the remaining grimm with his bare hands.
It reminded Qrow of when he had first seen the boy tear into grimm at his fallen home. However, Jaune was obviously in much more control. He moved with a speed that made Qrow's jaw drop and tore through the grimm, big and small, with precise punches and kicks. The teen flipped and dashed around with practiced ease and within a matter of seconds, had cleared the remaining grimm, including the Ursa Major.
Once the battle was over, Jaune's aura and the glow about his body faded. But just as it did, Jaune seemed to pass out. Qrow was confused but noticed the boy just seemed exhausted. Whatever power he had just used must have drained the hell out of him. Qrow picked the boy up and took him back to their shared home. An hour afterwards, Jaune woke up.
The dark haired huntsman immediately asked Jaune what he had done out there and Jaune proudly announced that he had unlocked his semblance.
From what he explained, it seemed that he was able to tap into an energy he instinctively knew was 'ki'. This energy allowed him to enter an 'Enhanced' state. It increased his speed, power, and endurance several times over, but left him absolutely drained afterward. He noted that the more he ate, however, the more energy and time he would have with his semblance. He told Qrow it was mostly a last resort as of now until he could learn more.
Qrow was impressed, but also worried. The fact that Jaune had vehemently stated that the energy he used was this 'ki' and not aura. Even more, Jaune didn't truly know why he knew the energy was separate, nor how he knew the name of the energy. Either way, Jaune let Qrow know he had found out about his semblance several months prior but wanted to surprise his mentor with it.
And surprised Qrow was. Jaune's speed and power easily put him on par with freshly graduated huntsman and huntress. Granted, with the short duration of the semblance, it definitely could only be used as a last resort. With proper training, he knew Jaune would become a legendary huntsman.
For the remainder of their year together, Qrow drilled Jaune with his training with and without his semblance. He was proud to see the boy soak up everything he was taught like a sponge. That's not to say Jaune was a genius. No, he just put in enough hard work for an entire Beacon Team and then some. However, after seeing Jaune's prowess with and without his semblance, he noticed that Jaune couldn't stop the fatigue that occurred after his semblance usage. He could speed up his recovery by eating a large meal after using his semblance, but he was always going to be out of commission at least for a few minutes no matter what.
The problem was that Jaune had circumvented it when fighting grimm sometimes. Jaune would use his semblance, destroy a bunch of grimm, and when it ended, become fatigued. However, if Jaune didn't pass out, and there were grimm left, he would throw himself into danger when he thought Qrow wasn't looking. It was always discreet, but somehow, Jaune would physically attack the grimm and sometimes get some energy for it.
When questioned about it, Jaune always just claimed that maybe he was catching a second wind, or that he simply ended his semblance early to preserve some energy. Qrow never believed him, but could never truly understand what the boy was doing either.
Unfortunately, the year of freedom Qrow had was finally over. And worst off, he knew things would become so busy that he wouldn't be able to see Jaune for quite some time.
"Take care of yourself kid." Qrow called to Jaune as he thought he was asleep one night. "I probably won't see you again until you get to Beacon…" He whispered.
"I'll be ready…" Jaune whispered out and opened one eye. Qrow was surprised he was fooled by Jaune faking being asleep. The young blonde jumped up and wrapped his arms around the older huntsman's neck. "See ya big bro."
Qrow let out a deep sigh before slowly returning the hug. "Yeah, see ya later little bro."
No more words needed to be said between the two as Qrow walked out and vanished into the night. Jaune watched as he turned into his namesake and took off. An ability Jaune knew was Qrow's secret. Just as he had some of his own…
Their reunion wouldn't come for another 5 years. Yet, it would be at the cost of Jaune's happiness once more…
So I know this chapter was extremely info-dumpish and exposition. That's only because I didn't want to spend a lot of time on the past and want to get to Beacon as soon as possible, unlike my Kage of Remnant story. The setting of Ars Magus and the characters, such as Celica, just aren't important enough to go into too much detail over. Having the story take place this far in the past would simply bloat the story with too many OC's that I have no care to subject my readers to.
And yes, the ending is definitely abrupt simply because I'm unable to focus at the moment. Plus, the things that need to happen next do need to be done without the info-dumpish style used for this opening.
Like I stated earlier as well, this was based on a verbal RP with me and one of my partners, so it'll be pretty weird in places. Somethings simply can't be completely explained just yet, but I'll do my best as the story goes on.
Hope you all enjoyed what was essentially the prologue!
Til next time Loves!
