This one is a continuance of day five. I'm sorry this is so behind. I hope you like the story! Also, I plan on writing one long story for the month of Decmeber. I'm not sure what fandom I should write it in, so let me know if you have any thoughts. I have a google form link on my tumblr if you want to respond that way! Otherwise let me know in a review!

"Candy corn?" Hermione asked with disappointment in her voice. "Of all the different candies I offered you to like better than Zotz, you chose candy corn?"
Draco looked up at Hermione from his spot on one of the benches in the entrance hall. "Candy corn is quite good, actually," he said in defense. "Besides, you gave it to me. You only have yourself to blame."
Hermione grit her teeth at that comment. "I was sending anything so long as you no longer had Zotz as your favorite candy. I didn't think that you'd choose the second worst candy in the entire world!"
"Maybe it's you that needs to learn to like different candy," Draco suggested as he walked away, towards the dungeons.
Hermione huffed and chased after him. "No, I'm right. You've only had these candies for the last few months. I've been (unfortunately) eating candy corn for nearly my entire life."
Draco didn't respond and Hermione let him walk away from her. She sighed to herself as she turned around to return to the Gryfindor common room.
The castle was quiet as she walked along the halls. It was, after all, the middle of the night, and she was almost done with her prefect rounds. That was also why Draco was out and about, they had often been scheduled on the same nights. After the first month of the school year, they had decided to do their rounds together.
That night they had split up though, with the plan to meet in the entrance hall after they were each done. From there they were going to return to their common rooms.
A week later, the night before Halloween, Hermione and Draco were scheduled for rounds together. It had happened, that day, that another prank box from Fred and George had found its way into the school. Hermione was fairly certain about Ron being the one to bring it in. In any case, the prank box had been activated in the hallway of Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.
The prank itself was a bunch of springs with blast-ended skrewts attached to the top. The animals had been modified so that they wouldn't hurt anybody, but there was mass chaos. The least of which was Moaning Myrtle had taken it as an attack against her personally, therefore flooding the bathroom and the surrounding hallways.
The pair was walking together, down the hall, towards the scene of the prank, talking about how their classes were going.
"Flitwick says my work is averaging an 'E,'" Draco commented. "What about you?"
Hermione shrugged. "I haven't asked him lately, but last time I had, he said I was at an 'O' level."
"What do you think the Weasley twins got?" Draco then asked. "I would bet quite a bit that it was an 'O' based on the charms they use for their pranks."
Nodding, Hermione responded in agreement. "I think I had heard that they both did get "Outstanding" on their O.W.L.s"
Their conversation cut off abruptly as the sound of a bouncing spring was heard echoing throughout the halls. Interspersed among the springing was the sound of the blast-ended skrewts going off.
Draco and Hermione looked at each other in dread. Together they raised their wands and looked down the hall where the sounds were coming from.
Boing.
Boing.
Boing.
It was getting closer, and moving faster. Then it came around the corner. It was huge. Hermione was unsure how it had escaped the mass round up earlier in the day.
"Immobulus!" Hermione cried, pointing her wand at it.
The freezing charm did nothing. It continued to get closer. Boing, boing, boing.
Then it was Draco's turn. "Impedimenta!" he yelled.
This time, the spell actually affected the springing skrewt. Although, not in the way either of them had hoped. Instead of slowing down, it sped up. Boingbiongboing.
"What did Fred and George do to that… thing?" Hermione shrieked as it started to get closer and closer.
As Hermione spoke, the skrewt changed its path, starting to chase her. Hermione turned around and tried to run. She didn't get too far, though. She tripped over some of the rubble from the blasting of the skrewts earlier and fell to the ground, her wand rolling away.
Draco backed up, towards the wall as another skrewt came from behind them. However, rather than going after Draco, who was closer, it copied the other's path towards Hermione.
"Draco!" she yelled. "Do something!"
While Draco did point his wand at the pair of springing blast-ended skrewts, he didn't shoot off a spell. "Only if you'll let me like both Zotz and candy corn!"
Hermione shook her head. "No, never! Both of those are terrible candies!"
"Is that really the point of view you're going to take?"
The skrewts were nearly upon her now, and, so, with a lot of reluctance, she gave in. "Fine! You can like Zotz and candy corn. Just please do something!"
Draco nodded and raised his wand to a fighting stance. "You'd better duck," he warned her. Once she had, he waved his wand and roared, "Incendio!"
Hermione felt the heat wash over her in a wave. Then the springing stopped. The sound of two springs clattered to the floor. Cautiously, Hermione uncurled herself from where she had ducked against the wall. There was a pair of scorch marks, and the springs halfway down the hall, but no other evidence of the springing skrewts.
Draco handed Hermione her wand. "Thank you for your stamp of approval," he commented with a wry smile.
Hermione shook her head. "If you're going to like the candy anyway, why do you need me to approve?"
He shrugged. "That way you can't complain about it."
Hermione giggled as there were footsteps behind them. They turned around to see Snape and McGonagall running towards them, their wand lit.
"What happened?" McGonagall asked as Snape pointed his wand at the scorch marks.
"Two of the springing skrewts missed the round up from earlier," Hermione answered.
"I suppose, as long as you two are fine…" Snape commented. "Why don't you two return to your dorms for the night."
The pair nodded, and left the teachers behind them as they did as they were bid.
