Chapter 1: If I Didn't Love You
After their breakup, Noah Puckerman and Quinn Fabray reunited at Tracy Anderson's third birthday party. Their reunion was unexpected. What made it even more surprising was that they arrived dressed as characters from the Marvel universe. Noah was dressed as the Hulk, while Quinn had chosen to go as the Black Widow.
As they entered the party, their eyes met, and a mixture of shock and amusement washed over them. They couldn't help but chuckle at the coincidence of their matching costumes. Fate seemed to have a sense of humor. However, the real surprise came when Tracy, the birthday girl, caught sight of them.
Tracy glanced at her aunt Beth Corcoran, who appeared bewildered by the situation. It turned out that Beth had also donned a Marvel-themed costume for the occasion, specifically She-Hulk. It was clear that none of them had planned their outfits.
Soon, as a realization dawned on Beth, her eyes widened, and she suddenly connected the dots. Quinn's and Noah's resemblance to her was uncanny. It finally hit her that she was their daughter, a fact that had remained unknown to her until that very moment.
Overwhelmed by this newfound knowledge, Beth couldn't contain her emotions. She let out a surprised and slightly bewildered yell, trying to comprehend the implications of this revelation. The room fell into a momentary silence as everyone turned to look at Beth as they understood the reason behind her exclamation.
In that instant, the party became a whirlwind of emotions and questions. They stood there in their Marvel costumes while reality sank in. It was both a shock and unexpected joy to Beth as the three of them began to navigate this newfound connection and the impact it would have on their lives.
No one could believe how Tracy Anderson's third birthday party became an unplanned reunion that led to a revelation that would forever change the lives of Noah Puckerman, Quinn Fabray, and Beth Corcoran, the girl who never knew she was their daughter until now. Their costumes may not have been planned, but the unexpected twist of fate brought them together and set the stage for a new chapter for them.
For Noah and Quinn, the bond they once shared seemed unbreakable. They had grown up together, creating countless memories with their friends. But then Beth's adoption changed everything. Beth couldn't forgive Quinn for turning her back on them.
Beth remembered that Noah was her father and understood that his demanding job in the Navy kept him away for long periods. She knew it was a sacrifice he had to make for his country. But what hurt her the most was Quinn's disinterest in their relationship as she got older. It seemed as though Quinn had found other priorities, leaving Beth feeling abandoned.
Beth had heard rumors about Noah's father, Nick Puckerman. He abandoned his family to be with another woman named Sally, who was Jake's mother. Hearing about Noah's family history made Beth question whether there was a pattern of abandonment in the Puckerman family.
Despite all this, Beth never anticipated that Quinn would follow the same path. She never knew Quinn was always like this. From their early childhood, Quinn had shown an interest in Noah, always conniving towards him. This history made Quinn's betrayal easy to understand since Beth was a result of Quinn's betrayal.
Beth felt a mix of emotions: hurt, anger, and confusion. She wondered if there was something she had done to make Quinn give her away. Beth questioned whether their relationship had ever truly meant anything to Quinn. The pain she felt was overwhelming.
As time passed, Beth gradually came to terms with the reality that Quinn had chosen a different path. She realized she couldn't force someone to value a bond they never had. Beth decided to focus on healing and moving forward, cherishing the memories she had shared with Shelby but accepting that sometimes people change and drift apart.
Beth soon learned a valuable lesson about forgiveness and unpredictability. She realized that while some relationships may falter, others may grow stronger. As she continued her journey, Beth held onto the hope that one day, she would find those unwavering friendships that would stand the test of time.
Noah felt a pang of sadness as he reflected on the current state of his relationship with Quinn. Their bond had improved, while Quinn's connection with Beth had disintegrated. It was disheartening for Noah to witness this even though Beth had her adopted mother, Shelby Corcoran, who had been her mother since birth.
Noah couldn't shake off the feeling that Beth should not have to suffer the same bitterness he experienced when his father abandoned him. Even though they lost touch over the years, Noah strongly believed that Beth deserved to grow up feeling loved and cherished rather than unloved due to Quinn's absence.
Noah pondered the complexities of their situation. He wondered if there was a way to bridge the gap between Quinn and Beth to ensure the young girl never felt abandoned or unloved. He thought maybe open communication and some understanding could play a role in strengthening their relationship.
Noah resolved to take action and reach out to Quinn in the hope of a better connection between them. He wanted to express his concerns and emphasize the importance of Beth's emotional well-being. Noah believed that Quinn needed to be present in Beth's life, even if their relationship wasn't perfect.
Noah understood that it wouldn't be an easy journey, but he was determined to do whatever it took to ensure that Beth grew up feeling loved, supported, and cared for. He wanted to protect her from the emotional turmoil he had experienced himself. He hoped Quinn would be willing to put in the effort as well.
Noah's primary goal was to create a better environment for Beth where she would never question her worth or feel unloved. He knew it would require patience, understanding, and a willingness to let go of past grievances. Noah was determined to do his part to ensure that Beth's future was filled with love and happiness, regardless of the complexities of their circumstances.
He also planned to show Quinn that she wasn't a horrible person for giving Beth to Shelby. Noah might have been a jerk in high school, but he was not that guy anymore, and he would show Quinn and everyone else that he was a better man.
Tracy starts to choke and then passes out before Noah springs into action and performs CPR. As he says, "Come on, Tracy, breathe! Come on, you can't die today, Squirt." Soon, Tracy coughs and hugs Noah. Then My Little Girl plays on the radio, and he sings along as he rocks Tracy in his arms before handing her to Carole and storming out.
Kurt finds Noah at Elizabeth Hummel's grave with a bucket of water and some cleaning supplies. He talks to Elizabeth's grave and says, "I know I haven't been here in a while. I saw Beth today and saved Tracy from choking. I realize I used Tracy as a replacement for Beth. You and Quinn are the only ones who know I named Beth after you. "
He glances at Kurt and says. "After Rachel won her first Tony, I came here to yell at Finn, but I ended up yelling at your mom."
He chuckles and continues, "I have her diaries, and I bet your dad gave them to me after Finn died. Judging by the look on your face, you didn't know Finn had them or that I ended up with them."
He wipes a leave off Elizabeth's grave as he says, "Your mom knew my mom and tried to get her to leave my dad serval times. They met after your mom got sick, and I doubt your dad knew this. Elizabeth never mentioned Mom's last name in her diary. But Mom is the only Norah who works at the hospital here."
He gets up and looks at a tree. Then he said, "I'm sorry for not being a better friend after Finn died. I know. You would have respected Finn enough not to do anything with his letterman jacket. By the way, Mr. Schue took it and gave it to Sam after his first son was born. Sam wanted to give it to me, but I didn't feel I deserved it. Did you and Blaine choose godparents for Tracy yet?"
Kurt glances at Blaine and says, "After you saved Dad from getting killed, Rachel told us if we didn't choose you as Tracy's godfather. She would make you the godfather of her first child. She felt bad about things she said about you when she carried Tracy for us and guilt-tripped us into choosing you."
He looks away and continues, "I'm the one that should be saying I'm sorry, Puck. You were Finn's best friend, and I haven't been much of a friend since he died. "
Kurt clears his throat and says, "You didn't tell Dad about Mom's photo album, did you?"
Noah chuckles and says, "I almost gave it to Santana, who immediately knew the pictures weren't of me. My question is: Why did you give it to me and didn't just burn it?"
Kurt blushes and says, "Finn found it in Mom's hope chest and thought it was Santana's, too. I didn't have the heart to tell him the girl in the pictures was her and thought you would burn it for me or use it as blackmail against Dad since you know the same people in Washington DC."
Kurt jumps as they hear Kurt's father, Burt Hummel, say, "Oh, really, son?"
Chapter 2 will be up soon. Sorry, I don't like spacers and get bored writing more than 1,000 or 5,000 words. This is why I scene jump a lot. I want to keep myself interested in my stories.
