Act 1
Chapter 1
"August 21... August 21..." she repeated over and over, accompanied by faint pants and heavy breathing. Desperately clawing her way toward the outside world, yearning for the sunshine and the money—the sweet, sweet money that supposedly "belongs" to her. The very same money "he" will inherit from his dead father. She is willing to do anything for it, even if it means killing him.
As Brooklyn Guy and his trustworthy partner, Simmons, walked through the prison hall, they casually checked on the prisoners, as usual, for it was their night shift. Nancy heard the guards approaching and quickly covered the gigantic hole she had spent hundreds of hours digging with only a metal spoon. It was hidden beneath the table in her cell.
"Hey, Simmons. Thought Bubbles was bad, huh? Well, let me introduce you to this skank, Nancy. She's nasty! We put her in solitary confinement because of multiple assault and escape attempts. Hey, Nancy! Come over here!" Brooklyn Guy called out.
"Uhh, yes, officer? What can I help you with?" Nancy replied, attempting a seductive tone that miserably failed due to her ugliness.
"She looks like she's on crack or something! Holy shit!" Simmons exclaimed. Brooklyn Guy added, sarcastically and smugly, "Well, that's what years of prostitution and alcoholism do to a person. She somehow makes even my ex-wife look like a model." With that, Brooklyn Guy and Simmons moved on, continuing to check on the other inmates.
But as soon as they left, Nancy moved the table and began digging through the hole once again. After years of digging, she had finally reached the sewers through the hole. It was now or never. She decided to jump and escape instead of staying any longer in this mess they called a prison. Brooklyn Guy and Simmons returned to Nancy's cell door because Brooklyn Guy had dropped his wallet and went to pick it up. However, as he looked through the cell door, Nancy was nowhere to be found. Worried, he entered the cell and noticed the hole on the floor, realizing that she had escaped. "OH NO, SHE ESCAPED! SIMMONS, SOUND THE ALARM!"
The alarm buzzed, and guards ran around frantically, trying to find her. Unbeknownst to them, Nancy was quite literally right under their feet, running through the sewers to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. The sounds of guards running left and right in the prison grew louder and louder as they desperately searched for her, but to no avail. Finally, Nancy emerged outside as she exited the sewer. The light from the tunnel shone in the night, revealing the city ahead. "I'm going to get my revenge and my money... and no one is going to get in my way!" she vowed.
