Once again the two friends were simply trying to eat a good meal after coming back from another mission, and as Hector began to eat this food, he almost felt like maybe this time their situation would not cause them to go to another mixed reality where every single person in it was insane. He was still getting over the last merged reality they had to endure and it was not pleasant in the slightest.
A reality where a reality based on the Bleach series, mixed with one based on the Shaman King Series. It was utter insanity and they couldn't be happier to see that the universe had become stable after what felt like an eternity over there, and no thanks to Hiro the world was changed much like every single damn reality he went to, he introduced Chakra without giving two shits about the consequences, and then once again made polygamy and incest legal. To Hector, this was just insane at first but he knew better than to argue with his friend since he would do this even if Hector tried to reason with him that this was both foolish but also dangerous.
This resulted in their argument all over again, Hector asked him why was he so obsessed with spreading that harems and incest were legal, it could lead to all social and physical problems that should be avoided, Hiro reprimanded his friend by saying that he had lived as an Uchiha in several realities, and the Uchiha, in fact, have done exactly as Hiro has done, polygamy in case the clan population was low, and intermarriage between family members to maintain the purity of their blood trait ability. And before he could argue Hiro also mentioned that the Uzumaki were no different, since they did so, there were very few Uzumaki that actually did not have the family trait of having red hair, to such an extent that when he lived as Naruto and he had blonde hair, people often used to say he is an Uzumaki in name only.
"Alright, but don't come freaking crying to me that your precious baby girl ends up getting married to my son and the other way around, cause by doing this so many times you are making it more likely to happen," Hiro called him an idiot and that it has happened before, several times already, his daughter Sarada married Boruto in quite a few realities, so it was a pointless thing to even mention. As the two were arguing and eating their food some of the other employees wondered if these two had a screw loose, cause they were acting like a pair of maniacs. That is when one mentioned they were the mixed reality specialists, upon hearing this, many of them changed their minds against making fun of them, these two handle realities that they would never volunteer to enter, so this gained a great deal of respect and pity in equal measure.
As the two friends picked up their food trays and thanked the cook, both friends knew what was going to happen so they began to walk towards the door that leads to the office of the goddess they serve. As they walked towards the door they both knew that the call for them would come sooner or later, at the very least they got to eat a full meal before she called them, to Hector it meant they were going to be sent to another world his wife knows he will not be happy about going into. "Come on, stop scowling like that, we are going to meet with the goddess that you got to fall for you, marry, and even go into these worlds with you, you got no right to look like you are walking to your execution."
Hector looked at Hiro and told him he had a crazy feeling that they were going to be sent to another messed up reality based on a place neither he nor both of them wanted nothing to do with. "Look every time she waits to call for us after we return from a mission, tells me that we are going to a place where shit didn't hit the fan but rather the fan is buried in it. And the longer she takes the more shit that fan is buried in, so we finished our meal and had time to argue, the place we are going is a world whose fan must be buried in a mountain of shit."
Hiro smacked him on the back and told his friend to think more positively, maybe it was a vacation mission where they had very few problems to solve and were sent there for both of them to relax. Hector quickly asked him how many times that had ever happened? Hiro began to think really hard as Hector reached to grab the door handle. By the time he entered the room, he said it had happened five times, and Hector told him that compared to the number of missions they had done those five times were practically nothing. "We can't sit on our laurels and we know we are going, but don't freaking expect me to enjoy it. If given a chance some of these merge realities are practically begging to be reset, but my wife would not be happy about that, so I will end up going with you, whether I like it or not, and why, cause I know the old saying if mama is happy then everyone else is happy, so I have to go even if I have the place where we are going for her sake alone."
Hiro mocked him as he called his friend a henpecked husband and that he was absolutely wiped. "Hey dobe I don't want to hear that from the idiot who is no better in those realities where you were just as bad with Hinata, hell in some of these realities you even stole my wife, so you got no right to mock me for wanting my wife to be happy! Cause you are guilty of the same damn thing." That is when they heard the goddess giggling when she was obviously listening to everything they said.
She turned around her chair and looked at the two friends, "While it is impressive that you can figure me out so easily husband, it is no surprise since we have been married for such a long time, but I got to tell you the very notion that you are willing to go to these realities which you hate only to make me happy, makes me blush every time I hear you say that. I am happy to see you really do love me. To answer your obvious question yes, you two will go to a merged reality that is giving me quite a headache. So yes, your example of the fan being buried in a mountain of shit, while disgusting is actually accurate."
"My husband can be quite blunt in his description of mission locations, or realities, but he is very perceptive, hence he probably already can tell. The mixed reality where you are going is a mess, which is obvious, but the worst part is that it has two parts that make these two realities merge naturally, and they are that both deal with the same type of technology. My dearly beloved hates this mixed reality because it has one anime that he disapproves of to the point he will deny watching it if given a choice, you are his friend Hiro and you know my husband seldom does something like that, not without a reason. The anime in question is Summer Wars, and you know it well since you have seen it several times, and probably know the reason why, the second one is not much of a problem it is Megaman Net Warriors. Now I think you would figure out what piece of technology is the one that brought these two realities together."
Hector without moving said it was obvious so much so that it was almost uninspired, the avatars in Summer Wars act as Net Navi programs that others would use them like that in the Net Warriors series and even the games, so it was more than likely that, but also the fact that the people in Summer Wars used something like the handheld unit that could have played Megaman Net Warriors games could be an influence. "As my husband states these factors caused these two realities to merge together attracted by similarities between them, but I must make certain and that is why you two my most capable in dealing with situations like this, will investigate this mixed reality and find if our suspicions are true, or maybe it was a merged reality caused by someone we do not know of."
Hector did not like the sound of this as he pretty much stated that it felt like she was sending him into that reality with a sign that stated find out who caused this and don't come home till you do. She laughed as she heard him say that. "No husband we will not be far from each other, I will also go there to help you, as always, as for my work, our children are more than capable of taking care of my daily duties, so there really is nothing for you to worry about. You shall be taken care of and our home shall be taken care of by the children we are so proud of."
As the two friends knew they had to take care of things to try and make this universe a whole lot better than they expected, Hector promised that they would look into the theory that realities can merge without outside influence. As they disappeared they had no clue that an older version of themselves had appeared in the lab of Yuichiro Hikari they came in pretending to be lab researchers who wanted to deliver something to their great-grandfather. They both had risked much in trying to steal the time travel bracelets to travel to the past, but after they lived with all the damage that was caused during the Reploid and human wars, they had to take a risk if only to save the rest of humanity.
These two had been working hard to collect all the scientific knowledge and technological developments to the very day that they would travel back in time, this would provide an immediate benefit but the improved technology could prevent the entire war from happening in the first place, saving millions of lives, so in their eyes the benefits far outweigh the potential risk of loss, even if those loses were their very lives.
They however had no idea that Lan Hikari was meeting with his father to get back his PET that contains the very soul of a person one of them knew very well, to think both their great-grandfather and their grandfathers were present, Kenji was as reckless as ever and simply ran towards Lan and without even a simple greeting he simply hugged him. Takashi wanted to honestly hit him hard in the back of the head, and apologize for his friend being so crazy, but he never had a chance to, Kenji simply looked at Lan and smiled as he said, "It is good that you are so young grandpa, I always wanted to do that without having to worry about you breaking a bone. Come on Takashi no sense in hiding so come on and greet your grand uncle our great grandfather and your grandpa since we are here anyways."
Takashi glared at Kenji and told him this stupid thing was even so irresponsible and reckless that only Love Machine would actually approve of doing this sort of crap. "Please ignore my cousin here, Doctor Hikari, we are travelers from the future, and we have come with a great deal of information for both you and both of your sons, Lan and Hub. So please calm down we mean you no harm and we are not part of World Three, so you can relax."
Yuichiro asked him if they were both descendants of Lan, to which Kenji laughed and said he was, but Takashi the guy who he came with was actually the grandson of Hub, that is when Yuichiro asked him how is that possible Hub Hikari was not even alive. Saying not to say such cruel jokes in front of him and the twin brother of his dead son. Takashi handed him the disk and looked at him with a smile. "I know that is what you think but my grandfather was remade into a Net Navi, I know back before my granduncle figured things out he used to call him Megaman, and it is this reason he eventually met and fell in love with my grandmother Roll. This disk has all the scientific research and development up to the time we came from, and that includes how to make all the battle chips that you and my grandpa will ever need since it is based on your battle chip data."
Takashi looked at the stunned faces of both Lan and Hub and Hub appeared on one of the wall laboratory monitors. "I know you both think of us as crazy, but we are telling you the truth. Come on Kenji don't leave me hanging here dude." Kenji told him that everything Takashi said was true and they wanted to meet him when both Lan and Hub had already left, but that was neither here nor there, since apparently they arrived in this time a little earlier than they expected. That is when Lan asks how the hell is he the brother of Megaman and Megaman did the exact same thing as they were acting like they were mirror images of each other. Takashi told them they might not agree about it but they often argue about what they are, brothers.
"Look we may look like it but trust we are because we trust each other to never let what we say get to us, open and honest is the way to go. I rather tell this guy that he is making a mistake than have him later regret it, it's that simple." As Takashi glared at his friend for saying something like that to him, it was not like he was aware why he even mentioned something like this, in contrast to every person in the world only a seer would be able to have a small glimpse of the advantage these two friends had, they had deep knowledge of the two universes that made up this merged reality, and as such they had a deep intimate knowledge and perception most could not phantom or believe existed.
As they disappeared, the original two friends were born to two families, and funny enough the two young men lived close to each other, these two friends knew better than to say it was just luck since the young man now named Takashi knew better, this was more than likely his wife doing her best to help and provide aid to them. She always did things like this, help the people she cared about and those she considered friends in such a way that unless they really looked, they would never even notice it. Like giving a cook a hint on what could go with the dish he was having trouble making or giving a person a glimpse at a map by pretending to drop it, she would go as far as to leave certain items in the storage bags of other people that would later only survive because they had those items.
His wife did these things every single time she sneaked in and entered the merged reality that her husband had entered, and the partner of her husband was all too aware of it, but as long as her actions provided him with a benefit he would not complain, and thus is the reason why these two had such amazing luck and why the number of merged realities they had helped grew day by day. Time is not a linear idea or simple concept time in one reality could be faster than the real they had entered or it could be so slow that the rate was slower than a snail. The mixed reality has almost always been the case of a slower rate and thus these two friends spent decades, centuries, and more in these places.
Now they found themselves feeling bored, everything they learned in school or even college was things they already knew of, in fact, they were so proficient and knowledgable that the teachers and later professors asked them to help their fellow students. Kenji would jump at any chance to help anyone in need, there was according to him no reason not to deny helping someone. Takashi was first and foremost someone pragmatic, if the person was someone who had mocked or hurt someone he cared about, there was no chance he would lift a finger to help them unless they paid him through the nose for the help. When Kenji asked him why was he like this to some guys who didn't know any better, Takashi reminded him that these people had mocked and insulted him and all their friends going as far as to call them the members of either the nerds or losers club going all the way back to middle school.
"You can't really blame them, we were pretty involved in playing D&D back when we both were kids, we went to shops and did complete campaigns with people we knew from our local card and game shop. So of course they will think of us as useless nerds, why don't you show them some compassion and help them out." Takashi simply told him he was making them suffer following the golden rule, they made him and others suffer they should not complain that he is simply making them pay for it. He asked what was the golden rule he was talking about before, it was simple as Takashi smiled and said the rule that states you break it, you buy it.
As they continued to work hard on their part-time job pretending to be low-level data grinders, the two finds had quite a bit of fun as they kept the appearance of barely doing their work, but in reality, they had already done most of it not all of it by the time they went to work because their boss told them exactly what they would be doing the previous night. Their boss was a considerate, caring, and quite fair person, but if someone dared to mess up or insult her and they say the bigger the smile the sharper the knife for a reason, nobody would dare to make lewd comments about her after the beating one employee got for trying to touch on of her breasts. Takashi asked her how the hell could do that, she smiled and told him that she trained regularly and the way her body looked was the result of her exercise and martial arts training, "Sweet summer child, nobody has a body like mine without putting the effort to have and keep it. So of course I know how to defend myself. I may be as pretty as a flower but I do have my thorns."
Kenji knew immediately who this person was, he could not freaking believe it, once again Nico Robin had once again appeared in a position that would help them, and she was as beautiful as ever, her good looks and friendly demeanor, however, were ever the mask, she used it to lower the defenses of others and get them to do exactly what she wanted, and how she wanted. There was no mistake this was the goddess they served, and in fact, he suspected she did that to spend time with her husband, by pretending that she was scolding him for one mistake or another, Takashi gave her the information of employees that offered him money to spy or sabotage the company they work for.
She spent years as a lot of Characters in many of the Naruverse as some would call it, so the two friends knew she was deadly when it came to combat and she was an expert kunoichi, so these poor idiots who thought that she was just a pretty face had no clue what sort of monster they were up against, well the guy that has reincarnated as Takashi knew all too well, after all once he returns to his actual life, this lady was his loving wife after all. Takashi was focused on his work and what free time he could spend he spent it on improving his computer knowledge and programming skills.
Kenji asked him why he did that and Takashi simply told him that Net Navi is supposed to be beings made using programming code and logic, so by doing this he could improve his knowledge and understanding, basically equating this as learning the natural language of net navi and cyber virus kind. "We input data into the platform our company made and maintains, but that does include dealing with bugs, and virus that was spread by stupid users or malicious competition that want this company to fail, either by making this company lose money or running the reputation and appeal of the platform this company created."
Oz was one of the most used and favored social media platforms in Japan and had people use it all over the world, Takashi and Kenji were some of the best people who worked in the company that made and ran this online social media platform that was available through phones, computers, smart televisions, and even gaming consoles. If there was anything that people could do in the real world it could be found within Oz, there were companies that actually did their daily business and meetings from Oz, and everything that a person needed to get done could be done with the many groups and places found within Oz. renew your driver's license, buy a new car, rent a home, or put a home for sale, clothes were seen and measured to fix using cameras from web cameras to those found within most smartphones.
Oz was everywhere and could be anything, gaming tournaments and schools that could reach even university classes could be found. The company even says on its webpage in Oz the only limit is the people's imagination. This was the company that these two friends worked at and their work was to find fraudsters and other criminals and keep the platform safe for other people to use. They pretended to be doing data processors but their real job was being part of the undercover division of Oz Security. Every single person within their division was battle battle-hardened net warrior, using their experience and battle cards to deal with many potential dangers that came into or after the people enjoying their time in Oz.
As such Takashi and Kenji had quite a vast array of skills and net cards that they could use against criminal avatars or dark net navi, and their battles were rarely seen, but ever since that others made the sport of Net Navi battle be competitive, some people even joked that one day they would have Net Navi do movies and a Net Navi music and theater idol. Takashi wanted to tell the guys in their class technically that person already exists, and she is the one that delivers the daily news on Oz News Reports. He didn't mention it however because he was simply too embarrassed to mention it, because the Net Navi that did that was based on his grandma Roll.
The very last thing they needed to know was that the lady doing the news on Oz, looked exactly like his grandma when she was younger. No reason at all to tell this to anyone, the level of mocking comments was bad enough without adding more fuel to that fire. Takashi and Kenji had something different than normal Net Navi or Net Navigators, both of these friends which they could say when people asked if there was life on other planets, that they could actually prove there was, Takashi's friend was a person native to planet FM, and Kenji's friend was a native from planet AM, they just happen to be able to live as Net Navi and thus could use the information of the battle cards to do as if they were. These two beings were extremely powerful which is why people feared them when they entered into battle, because they were known to be quite brutal.
