Guess
By Bashfulglowfly
Anko Mitarashi sauntered up the four-person high-top that her best friend was sitting at. She loved him so much because he already had a bottle of whiskey and glasses waiting to be filled.
Iruka Umino looked up from his glass of whiskey as Anko slid onto the stool next to him. He raised an eyebrow at the look on her face. "Well, don't you look like a cat with a mouthful of fat mouse."
"Snake," Anko purred into his ear just before sticking her tongue into it. "Cold. Hearted. Sssnnnake!"
"Nice Paula Abdul reference."
"It's a good song."
"It's over 30 years old."
"The Eighties had great music."
"You weren't even born then."
Anko poured herself a drink and took a sip. "So? Good music is good music. I've heard you listen to ABBA!"
Iruka blushed slightly. "So, what is on the mind you allegedly have?"
Anko laughed "Guess who your ex is dating."
Iruka snorted into his glass as he took another sip of his drink. "No thanks. I had to do that when we were together."
"Come on! Guess!"
"I don't care."
Anko huffed in disgust, "Fine. I'll give you a hint. Mizuki is dating one of Kakashi Hatake's exes."
Iruka felt himself flush just at the mention of the silver-haired man but managed to keep his voice steady when he replied "Oh, that narrows it down so much!" Which was true. Kakashi Hatake, popular local bookstore owner, was a serial dater. Maybe someone lasted three dates but that was about it.
Iruka loved going to Hatake Books. Not only was Hatake eye-candy but the store had an incredible selection. And every time Iruka went, Hatake would recommend a new book and most of the time Iruka loved the story.
Anko rolled her eyes. "I really hate you sometimes, ya know that?"
"No, you don't. I give you a place to crash and dango."
"True." Agreed Anko. "Aoi Rokusho."
Iruka had to think for a moment. "Oh, the marathon runner who got caught hopping into taxis to move ahead in the race."
"That's the one."
"Cheaters attract."
Anko stared at Iruka over her glass. "So why haven't you gone after Kakashi?"
"He's not my type."
"Really? Liar. That long lean body, those eyes, that hair. And his fingers. Nice and long. I bet they can reach places inside you that..."
Iruka slapped a hand across Anko's mouth. "Oh my god, Anko! Really?!"
Anko, with malice aforethought, licked Iruka's palm, who squealed and rubbed it frantically on the leg of his pants. "One, I know you've gone there in your head. I've heard you talk in your sleep. Two, it's not like anyone can hear me with all this noise."
"Oh, I heard." Came a deep voice from over Iruka's shoulder.
Iruka closed his eyes, wished Anko's vocal cords would suffer from catastrophic failure, and he could become invisible.
Two arms wrapped around him. The voice murmured in his ear "I see you!"
"Oh my god! You read minds?!" Iruka twisted around and stared into the face of Kakashi Hatake with appalled horror.
Hatake laughed. "No, I saw your expression in the mirror."
Iruka started to relax from relief but then Kakashi's hands began to roam. "Um, Hatake-san…"
"I think you can call me, Kakashi. You've shopped at my store long enough and you've had me in your sleep!"
"Anko, I'm never giving you dango again!"
"Ru-ru!" Anko laughed and didn't look the least bit worried. She looked at Kakashi. "Just in case, his name is Iruka Umino. He's twenty-five, hasn't had a serious relationship in the last few years and he teaches elementary school." Then the smile left her face "He's my best friend. If you hurt him, I can make your death look like an accident."
Kakashi smiled "Duly noted." He sat down on the stool next to Iruka and held out his hand. Iruka cautiously took it. "Kakashi Hatake, thirty, serial dater trying to find The One and, as you know, I own a bookstore." Kakashi slid off the stool "Dance with me. Please?"
"Okay." Iruka felt his cheeks heating up but willingly took Kakashi's hand as he slid off the stool.
As Kakashi started to lead Iruka to the dance floor, Anko called out "Have him home by 2 a.m.!"
"ANKO!"
"That won't be long enough for me to have my wicked way with him."
"KAKASHI!"

Kakashi leaned down and kissed Iruka's shoulder as the morning sun came in through the window. "I glad. I got you home before 2 a.m. and was still able to have my wicked way with you."
"And you stayed until morning."
"Do you want me to leave?"
"No."
"Excellent. And good morning."
"Good morning." Iruka pulled Kakashi down for a real kiss. And enjoyed Kakashi having his wicked way with him all over again.
Author's Note: I'm not happy with the title but for right now, it will do.
