"Well, well. I was wondering if ya would show up." Merida appeared to be trying to keep her voice cool as though to indicate to Elsa that she was still in control of the situation. "Tell me, was that brainless git Kristoff really that boring?"
Elsa, however, wasn't wasting any time. She removed her gloves and tossed them aside, waving her arms at the duo of prisoners and instantly creating a wave of giant icicles from the ground, their sharp edges pointed upwards and only inches away from their feet. Anna let out a loud shriek, wondering if she was going to murder them both after all, but Merida feigned a yawn.
"Bravo! Nice show, warden. But we both know you ain't actually got the bones to kill yer own sister."
"Don't sound so sure of yourself." Elsa was holding both of her arms out, seemingly ready to attack again. "You don't know me nearly as well as you think you do."
"Oh, let's skip this part, shall we? The whole 'you threaten me, and then I threaten you' bit? That sounds so bloody tedious." Merida grabbed Anna and shoved her head right up to her breasts, pointing the gun directly at her skull. "How about I instead put an abrupt end to this daft bitch's life sentence?"
Anna squirmed to get away, but it was futile as Merida's hold onto her body was remarkably strong, and she was feeling weakened from the gunshot wound again now that all of the violence had stopped, so the only thing she could do was sweat profusely as her heart pounded so hard she could feel it echoing in her ears.
"I have a duty, inmate!" Elsa stood firm, but Anna could sense an uncertainty in her tone now, as though she didn't believe her own words. "I can't let you leave this prison and bring even more death and destruction. You're going to pay for all of my guards who you shot tonight, by rotting in the hole until you are nothing but bones!"
Merida just grimaced. For the first time that night, things seemed be going exactly as she wanted them to.
"Ya talk tough, but ye haven't so much as sent another snowflake in me direction since I brought this weapon to yer precious sister's head. I know yer bluffing. Call it a gift I have, but I can tell when folks are lying. It's what makes me such a good liar meself."
She clicked the trigger. Fear took over Anna's entire body and she didn't even realize at first that she was voiding her bladder, only noticing once the pee trickled down to her toes. She hardly cared. For all she knew, it would be lights out for good in a matter of seconds. And her heart just kept beating louder and louder!
"Looks like ye forget to toilet train yer little sister." Merida cackled, moving her feet away from Anna's so as to avoid the puddle. "But I'm bored already with her. What's yer answer, 'Elsa the Wicked Warden'? And before ye speak, let me remind ya of the body count I have already accomplished tonight. One more kill won't weigh me conscious down."
Anna shivered, bracing herself for death (again!). Maybe Elsa was going to let her die! Maybe Merida was going to shoot her regardless! She said a silent prayer for her soul, though feeling certain it was in vein, as she still imagined she would be given a one-way ticket to Hell if there was any justice in the afterlife.
Then Elsa lowered her hands.
"Wait!"
Merida lowered the gun.
"There. That wasn't so hard, was it? Wouldn't it have been easier fer both of us if ye had done that sooner?"
"Quit your chattering! Just tell me what you want!" Elsa was struggling to maintain some form of control, but she had lost anything resembling that the second she complied with Merdia's commands. Anna knew that Bloody Mary held all the cards now. All that remained to be seen was how she would use them.
