Herbert was astounded hearing what sounded like an infant's cries thinking it was Star-Rocket but nope, it was coming from RJ's room entering finding a baby-raccoon kit that looked like Rocketvat that age realising it was RJ. He knew that like the Guardians, Mama Groot had given RJ Groot-spores to heal what the cacti had did to him only with RJ, the reaction had been delayed, until they'd went to Planet Groot so he could give the toddler-Guardians check-ups and RJ had been with him but in a way, it was like he had Rocket back seeing RJ relaxing as he picked him up gently hearing him whimper.
"Sshhhhh it's alright RJ, daddy got you and you're safe, your lil bro's going to be surprised when he wakes up and sees you." he cooed gently in a soothing tone as RJ was imprinting with him but after this, he was making him milk and putting a diaper on hik knowing he wasn't housebroken hearing the infant-kit giggling at this but drinking a big bottle of milk impressing Herbert but laughing, burping him afterwards but was taking hij to his room and tucking hij ijto Star-Rocket's old crib kissing his lil forehead which made him think of Rocket at this age before going to sleep.
The next morning, Star-Rocket was confused flying into RJ's room and not finding hik which made the star-kitvworried but thinking his brother was playing hide and seek, until he saw his dad with a baby raccoon in his arms not understanding at first, until Herbert explained making him surprised and delighted that RJ was around his age which theirvdad noticed heading to the kitchen putting RJ in Star-Rocket's old highchair which the star-kit fouhd adorable like his dad feeding RJ first before making breakfast for them which he got, it washelping him with his patience skills. After RJ was fed, Herbert was making him and Star-Rocket breakfast plus had poured juice into Star-Rocket's cup hearing him thanking him eating cereal while RJ was still in the high chair making sounds which he and Herbert found adorable but both kits were playing in the playpen while Herbert did some work knowing Star-Rocket would be a good brother to RJ
"It's okay RJ, daddy has to do some work and when he's done, then he'll play with us." he said which soothed RJ.
After a while, Herbert was done with some of his work knowing they needed to go outside but Star-Rocket wondered how they were going to do this seeing their dad putting RJ in the papoose listening to him telling the star-kit how relieving him as Herbert was grabbing supplies then activating the security system then leaving but heard Star-Rocket giggling as they were on the indoor play park which was helping him burn off energy so he could rest, but Herbert was playing with him without leaving RJ out.
"Hehe, that's right RJ, that's my ears, please be careful as my earrings aren't toys but get you love shiny things like your big brother at your age." Herbert said to the infant male-kit. It was early afternoon in the Wyndham penthouse apartment and while Star-Rocket was taking his nap, Herbert was spending some time with RJ but the infant-kit was noticihghis earrings just like Rocket at this age hoping he wouldn't swing on them like Rocket had and RJ was discovering things plus Herbert had given him a cookie as he'd bought treats from the bakery.
They were in the living-room on the couch snuggling and Herbert had been reading him books which the infant-kit was loving just like Star-Rocket and Rocket at their age seeing Star-Rocket awake after a bit having snacks then was playing with Lego and RJ was playing with toys he could handle as he'd explained that some of the toys he played with weren't safe for RJ or he might putvLego bricks up his snout.
"I hope they're okay on Planet Groot." Herbert whispered to himself hoping that RJ didn't hear, realising he didn't remember this.
