Mothra's Theme (Queen of the Monsters Suite)

Start:

ITEM is currently in awe and wonder. Well, that and there is the part where they get creeped out a little by the sounds of bats, some of which awaken as they flap their wings. They were in some kind of cave where they saw plenty of state-of-the-art technology and equipment, tank-like vehicles, gallery displays, and other sorts. Now, they, along with the two agents and Night Baron were in an open platform that acted as a transport system from one place to another.

"Welcome to the Baroncave, you four," Night Baron would speak in a serious tone, indicating the place where they are currently.

"Baroncave?" Shizuri Mugino made a bewildered face and raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "Not exactly creative."

And then...

"Hmm? Ah..."

All of the ITEM girls would notice something. A gigantic shadow of sorts. They turn around to find something that they would never thought to see.

It was a gigantic creature, resembling a bright, bioluminous moth. A hair-lined body consisting of numerous colors, feathery antennae, and four large wings that sweep behind her body, creative gentle waves of winds that would tug the clothes of everyone present. The wings were patterned with black, orange, yellow, and blue colors. Its eyes which glowed in the dark possessed prominent eye patterns. The creature would notice all of them, screeching with high-pitched sounds. The bats that were nearby gave a form of ritual respect as they encircled the creature like a crown.

"...What the?" Shizuri could not help but mutter. Everyone in ITEM was speechless. They didn't think they would get any more surprised at this point. When they look at this creature, they don't feel afraid. They didn't know why, but they just feel...peaceful and lighter inside.

"You know...this never gets old every single time I see her," Agent Shiage Hamazura said with a smile on his face.

"Yeah," Agent Jiang Haoyi shares his partner's sentiments.

"...ITEM, I would like to introduce you all to Mothra, she tends to visit my cave every now and then," Night Baron, not changing his serious expression, would say.

"...Mothra?" Rikou Takitsubo asked while still staring at the creature.

"Mothra is what is considered in my world as a M.U.T.O., an acronym for "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism", various different superspecies of massive ancient chimeric creatures that predate mankind itself. Mothra is one of if not the oldest of her kind which is classified as Titans, having been around since...well, since the very first fish, the Haikouichthys, evolved in the middle of the Ordovician period," Night Baron explained.

"...Huh?!" All of the ITEM girls would slowly turn towards Night Baron, trying hard to process what was practically told to them in a casual, methodical manner.

"It's true, girls, she's much older than all of us, seen too much history, been there, done that," Agent Hamazura said with a smile, causing ITEM to look at him. He continues to explain. "For all intents and purposes, you may as well be looking at an actual goddess. From erased Nazca lines to the hidden Temple of The Moth, the name "Mothra" is woven throughout the most secret mythologies of the planet. The folklore and fairy tales tell of a winged creature of blinding light, an angel of the clouds whose god-like luminescence has the power to shatter the sky. Ancient spirit tablets discovered in the mountain jungles of the Yunnan Province portray a giant winged alpha of the Lepidoptera order. In all of our findings, human civilization is pictographically shown in poses that imply deification of the so-called "Queen of the Monsters", suggesting that the creature was once a benign part of the natural order. As one of the deadliest and most beautiful natural phenomena in this Earth's history, no wonder this devastating guardian angel was worshipped as a goddess by the ancient human civilizations blessed to witness her."

And so, ITEM would slowly look back at the gigantic moth who was looking closely at the girls in particular, narrowing its bright eyes, making gentle screeches.

"...Uh, just what exactly is it doing here?" Mugino would look at Night Baron with a bewildering expression.

"Oh, I did say that she came here from time to time, and the reason is that I tend to feed her whenever she drops by, though she hardly needs food due to her nature," Night Baron said.

"Feed? What does she eat exactly?" Frenda asks, a little worried and hoped that it isn't them.

"Well, all forms of magical energy for instance. Mana, prana, ki, you name it," Night Baron said.

"Huh? Magic?" Frenda raised an eyebrow on this. Normally speaking, she would dismiss such a notion, but she couldn't this time. She doesn't know why.

"In any case, we need to head to the debriefing room in order to plan out what we must do regarding the DNAstaros. Follow me," And so, Night Baron would walk down a pathway of metal staircases that lead down.

"Well, you heard the man, girls, let's go," Agent Hamazura said as he and Agent Haoyi would follow Night Baron down the stairs.

The ITEM girls would give another glance at the giant moth who was just looking at them. They didn't understand why, but they felt safe when they are with this gigantic creature. With difficulty, the girls would begin to walk forward, with Mugino being the last person to move as she could still not take her eyes off of the creature who was still staring at her.

"...Tck," Mugino made a bitter but conflicted face, moving her face sideways before moving along. She felt that this creature seem to look at her just as she was, both inside and out. She didn't really like it...and yet she didn't mind. It was like the exact opposite of the darkness was permeating within Mugino's soul. Gentle rays that would permeate the darkened corners of her heart. It tugged the strings a little.

Now Mugino wonders what other surprises await here in this mysterious cave. She took her leave while Mothra silently watches the ITEM girls with an expression that could only be described as empathy.
