Chapter 16: Bowling and Dinner
The next day, we all met up at Arsenal Lanes for bowling. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We listened to NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, and Lizzo prior to bowling. Sarah, Carly, Alex, and I were on the same team. "Yesterday, I met up with my old friends, the Sobert sisters at Spins Bowling Alley in West Mifflin," I told my friends. "That's awesome," Sarah told me. My final bowling score was 122, Carly's final bowling score was 92, Sarah and Carly were tied with 114 points, but in the end, Alex got second place with 118 points due to making a tiebreaker. Then, we ate dinner at Industry Public House across the street. Carly, Spencer, Mr. Benson, and I all ordered the assembly line macaroni and cheese but with different toppings, Sarah and Alex both ordered the Arsenal chicken salad, James ordered a cheeseburger with fries, Henri ordered the Industrial Hot Chicken sandwich with fries, Justin ordered the Industry Pot Roast, and Max ordered the Fish and Chips. We also had appetizers of pizza fries, mozzarella cogs, and pot roast nachos to eat. "I don't even mind being in last place for bowling today," Carly stated happily. "The last time you were in last place was when we went bowling around Easter in 8th grade," Mr. Benson stated. "You are a pretty good bowler," Spencer stated. "The bowling fundraiser at Zone 28 was our final fundraiser before our Walt Disney World band trip," Max remembered. "Yes, and it was a good idea," Justin agreed. "I remember 2 months prior when we bowled at Zone 28 and I didn't bowl very well," Alex remembered. "I know because Angel was with me and she remembers everything!" "That was the best I have ever seen you bowl, Alex," I told my friend. "You are one healthy girl who loves to exercise, so I don't see why you wouldn't be good at bowling." Then, it was time for cake. The 2 cakes included a chocolate cake with black frosting and a vanilla cake with white frosting. "This looks almost the same as my 15th birthday cake that we talked about yesterday at work," Sarah stated. "Hey, look, we are drinking beer with our meals," Henri exclaimed. "Yeah, what do you think of that?" James asked in a teasing tone of voice. "Hey, that is not appropriate!" Sarah exclaimed. "You boys are supposed to be setting a good example for me! I do not want you guys to end up like my boyfriend, Benedict and get suspended from work due to alcohol and drug overdose, or even worse, die due to being drunk!" "Everything is okay, Sarah," I told my best friend. "I just prefer to drink water with everything, not even soda pop," Sarah stated. "I feel the same way," Alex agreed. "Today, I got some milk to drink with my meal for a treat," Carly stated. After dinner, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great evening, guys!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
