U.S.S. Trepang (SSN-674)

Somewhere Near the Arctic Circle

February 13th, 1993...

Although the Cold War was over, the officers and crew of the Submarine Trepang once again found themselves on a patrol near the arctic circle. But unlike her other sister ships, the Nuclear powered "Attack" submarine was not on the hunt for Russian submarines that might launch a surprise attack on the U.S.

Although Trepang was a member of the "Sturgeon-class" Submarine, the vessel itself was not a member of the United States Navy. Rather, the Trepang and her crew were apart of the Office of Homeworld Defense and was just one of a handful of submarines operated by the Organization.

In recent weeks, strange energy readings had been detected by Department Satellites in orbit. Energy readings which seems to be emanating near the North Pole, yet it's exact location could not be determined. As a result, the Trepang had been deployed to assist in monitoring said energy readings. As well as attempt to triangulate the exact location with other assets in the region. Yet after weeks on station, the Trepang and her crew were no closer to solving this mystery.

Curiously enough, the detection of these odd signals, came at a time were Homeworld Defense were investigating some rather strange incidents which had occured in Tokyo, Japan earlier that year.

Disappearing Busses, sightings of strange yet dangerous creatures that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. But strangest of all... the sudden appearance of individuals who would fight these strange creatures, dressed in what one official described as...

"A Pervert's idea of a Japanese school uniform..."

Now of course, there were those who were quick to write off these happenings as nothing more than cases of mass hysteria. But for the Department of Homeworld Defense... it was signs that the threat they had been preparing for decades, was finally making itself known. Yet as events continued to play out in Japan, O.H.D assets continued to monitor the strange reading they were getting from the polar ice cap.

Sailing a periscope depth and with her "Radar Done" extended just above the waves, Trepang continued to monitor the polar ice cap. Relaying what ever information it gathered with the other assets which had also been deployed.

But suddenly, there was a break.

A spike in energy readings had been detected by the Trepang, a spike which was also detected by a pair of E-3 "Sentry" aircraft near Alaska and another submarine near Greenland. Then it was detected again... and then again... and again. Finally, after weeks of searching, an actual location for the energy readings had been established.

It was not long before news of this discovery reach O.H.D. headquarters and the powers that be began to mull over what had been found. But of course, radar scans and satellite images could never beat actual eyes and ears on the ground. So the decision was made to deploy a ground team to investigate further.

Several Days Later...

The weather seemed to deteriorate by the hour, as a Trio of C-130 Hercules Aircraft continued their flight north. The harmonious hum of their turbo prop engines just barely audible to their occupants and crew, as the three aircraft attempted to remain in formation while battling the adverse weather around them.

Hours before, these aircraft had departed Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and after a quick refueling stop at Eielson AFB, the transports were now on their final leg of their journey.

This deployment was in direct response to the findings of the Trepang and other assets just days earlier and needless to say,the O.H.D. were not about to take chances.

Ever since the discovery of the "Moon Kingdom" by the Apollo missions, the Homeworld Defense had done it's very best to not only understand the lost civilization, but what caused it's destruction. It's destruction being due to a "Faction" known as "The Dark Kingdom". Who attacked from the Earth and utterly destroyed almost everyone and everything on the moon. Resulting in the lifeless rock that it is today.

It were these findings which resulted in the creation of the Office of Homeworld Defense and the entities which fell under it's authority. Now one of these entities were dispatching a task force of their own to investigate and if needed, "Neutralize" this possible threat.

On board one of the Hercules, sat a man in his mid to late thirties and dressed in attire one would use for Arctic warfare. His white snow suit was complimented with a back utility vest and a pair of snow goggles upon his head. Which itself was covered by a black Balaclava, yet his face was left exposed as he looked over documents he had received prior to his deployment.

In front of him, was just one of her heavily modified vehicles which they had brought along with them. Which would not only provide transport of his team once they hit the ground, but also carry their supplies and more importantly, their weapons and ammunition.

Taking another sip of his now Luke warm coffee, the man went off the plan for what must have been the 100th time that flight. They would touch down at least thirty miles from the target and use their vehicles to navigate the unforgiving tundra. From there, they would secure the area and await further instructions. It sounded simple enough, but he knew better than that believe their mission would go as planned.

"This is your pilot, we are making our final approach to the LZ so please strap yourselves in and from all of us, we want to thank you for choosing the 115th as your airline"

The pilot suddenly announced over the intercom, which caused some of the men to chuckle. A small hint of humor to break the unwanted uneasiness they all felt. But as the three aircraft made their final decent, they were completely unaware that their arrival al D-Point would have some unwilling witnesses...

"It's COLD!"

Sailor Moon exclaimed, as she hugged herself in a desperate attempt to keep warm.

The weather conditions were harsh as one would expect it to be when the Senshi teleported in. After months of battling with Queen Beryl and her generals, they had finally discovered just where the Dark Kingdom remnants had been hiding for so long. Of course, the seriousness of the situation was now lost on the reincarnated Moon Princess, as she was not reacting well to the cold conditions.

"How can you all act like there's nothing wrong?" Moon exclaimed, as her friends didn't seem to be bothered by the cold conditions.

Sailor Mars was just about to snap at her "fearless" leader and friend, when a low rumbling sound began to fill their ears. A sound that seemed to be getting louder and louder...

"Guys...what's happening?" Sailor Venus asked curiously, as they all searched for the source of the rumble. Using her visor, Sailor Mercury Began to scan the surroundings for said source. b

But before she could say anything, a large aircraft suddenly appeared out of the cloud cover and was soon followed by two more. All of whom were at an angle that suggested they were about to land.

The Senshi had little time to react, as they quickly dove for cover just as the first plane flew low overhead. Quick to recover, the Senshi looked on as the trio of aircraft soon disappeared out of sight. But their engines could still be heard in the distance.

"W... what the hell was that?!" Mars exclaimed, still trying to comprehend as to what just happened.

"Those were...those were C-130 Hercules cargo planes!" Venus explained. "They re the primary cargo aircraft of the United States Military! They have a range of 2,050 miles, has crew of five and can carry up to 92 passengers, 64 paratroopers or three Humvees!"

This lead to everyone looking at the normally "Ditzy" blond with expressions that said 'How the hell do you know that?!?'

"Hey! I know stuff!." Venus replied. "But what are they doing here? Do you think they know what's going on?"

"There is only one way to find out." Jupiter replied and without saying another word, the Senshi ran off to see just who those planes belonged too.

It didn't take long for the military personnel to disembark the planes and unload their vehicles. Which consisted of four heavily modified Humvees which had their wheels switched out for specially designed tank treads. Though completely enclosed, each vehicle had a 50 cal. machine gun mounted on a turret that was remotely controlled. There were also several snowmobiles which would serve as scouts for this operation, while the team itself consisted of 32 men.

As soon as the last Humvee was off loaded, the three cargo planes took off one by one and disappeared into the clouds once again. Leaving the investigation team all alone on the frozen tundra.

"Husky to Citadel, radio check."

"Citadel to Husky, read you loud and clear." A voice replied through the speakers. "What is your status?"

"Husky has touched down at the LZ are prepared to move out."

"Understood. Radio check in 15, good luck down there."

"Captain Matson, all equipment is secured and the men are ready to move out." One of the team members stated, as he walked up to his commanding officer.

Taking out his map and using the GPS device which they had brought along with them, the Brooklyn native took a moment to process the information he now had before he replied... "Very good. The target in just about thirty miles south west from here. In these conditions, we should be able to reach in in less than an hour. We should ge... what the?"

Matson stopped mid sentence, as the near blizzard like conditions suddenly changed. But even though the wind and snow stopped, the atmosphere still felt rather off.

Suddenly, jolts of lightening were seen followed by claps of thunder in the distance. Much to the surprise of Husky.

"I think we should check that out..."

They were being attacked!

In their attempt to locate the aircraft they had seen, the Senshi had suddenly come face to face with three female Yoma who attempted to trick Moon by pretending to be Tuxedo Karmen.

In an attempt to defend her friend, Jupiter had decided to confront the five beings on her own. But she took was tricked by the five demonic creatures when they used Motoki to distract her. Long enough for them to wrap the young woman in green tentacles, which they proceeded to use to slowly kill her. Moon and the other Senshi could only look on helplessly as Jupiter tried to break free. But despite her physical strength, the Senshi of Thunder soon came to the realization that this just might be it for her. But if she was going down, she might as well try to take these monsters with her. At least she would be able to protect Usa and the others.

But just before she could enact her final revenge against the creatures, numerous cracking sounds were heard and the tentacles suddenly exploded. Freeing Jupiter and causing her to fall to the snow covered ground, but fortunately for her and the Senshi, the DD Girls' attention was no longer focused on them. But rather in the direction where the sounds came from.

Moments later, another burst was heard and one of the DD Girls were struck down. Being ripped apart by some unseen force that stunned not only the now four Youma, but the Senshi as well.

In a rage, the remaining "Girls" charged into the direction they believed their assailant was, but not before another one of them was ripped apart by... gunshots??

At least that it what they sounded like to the Senshi, who were quick to run towards their wounded friend. Who thought injured, was still alive and was trying to pick herself up. Moments later, two loud explosions were heard and the Senshi looked just in time to see two more of the Youma being consumed in a massive fire ball. It also seemed that the last surviving creature had realized that she was now all alone and quickly fled the area. No sooner than she did, the weather changed back to what it had once been. With the snow and wind whipping up once again

"Jupiter!" Moon cried, tears forming in her eyes as she hugged her friend.

"What... what happened?" The Senshi of Thunder asked, a bit dazed but thankful to still be alive.

"I don't know, but I'm just glad you're safe!" the blue eyed blond replied, as she helped her friend back to her feet.

"Uh guys... I think I know who saved us..." Venus suddenly annoyed, as she made a gesture to looked behind them and when they did, the Senshi were met with the most unbelievable of sights...

For now approving them were four "Trucks" surrounded by snowmobiles and a group of men armed with... Machine guns and Rocket launchers? Just what in Kami-sama's name was going on. The girls were still on edge by what had just happened and were not sure just what to make of this group's rather explosive arrival. But something within them told that that these men were more friend that actual foe.

Suddenly one of the men, the leader they presumed, walked forward and took off his balaclava to reveal a man with dark and a very confused expression on his face...

'"Um... Hello...?"
