Ch 3

As the mis-matched team rode towards the parking lot, Xander couldn't help but glance at Yusei's Duel Runner in fascination.

Yusei smiled. "I guess they don't have anything like this where you're from?"

"You will be most correct. Back in Nohr, we use horses as our main mode of transport," said Xander.

"What do you call your mount by the way, Yusei? asked Leon.

Yusei looked a little awkward. "It's just Yusei Go. It was named by a friend." He smiled.

"That's a cute name," giggled Camilla.

"And in my homeland of Hoshido, we ride creatures known as kinshi," spoke Ryoma.

"What are they?" Scotch eagerly asked.

"They are a species of bird specifically trained by samurai in Hoshido," explained Ryoma.

"That's so cool!" Scotch exclaimed.

"Are we at the place your friend is yet?" asked Takumi.

"Almost." Yusei soon pulled in.

Jack, Crow, Leo, and Luna were doing their best to fight the robots without destroying the parking lot in the process.

"Yikes," Radley frowned.

"This is even worse than our house..." sighed Kalin.

"So how do we fight these things?" Scotch asked.

"In our world, we fought lots of armies. Let us battle them for you!" grinned Leon as his sacred time Brynhldr started to glow purple.

"Works for me," Radley said. He was glad to let someone with more experience take over.

"To battle!" yelled Ryoma as he unsheathed his sword Raijinto. It cackled with lightning.

"Yeah! Now you're talking! exclaimed Takumi as he whipped out his bow and ran towards the robots.

"Uh ... will arrows pierce robots?" Scotch blinked.

"Brother has a special bow," said Sakura.

Jack, Crow, and the twins ran up to Yusei, Kalin, and Radley.

"Hey, Yusei! Who are these people?" demanded Jack

"They came through portals," Yusei said. "They're helping out."

"They came through the portal too?" gasped Luna.

"Whoa! Are they Duel Monsters?" asked Leo excitingly.

Radley chuckled. "I don't think they are."

"Um, I beg your pardon?" asked Sakura in surprise.

"Did you just call us monsters?" huffed Elise.

"It's not an insult," Radley hurried to explain. "They're characters from a card game who actually exist in another dimension."

"Ooh cool! That looks amazing!" said Elise. "I wonder if my brothers would be interested too?"

"Yusei, is Bruno with you?" asked Crow.

"There's something for everyone!" Scotch grinned. "All kinds of card types!"

"Yeah, he's here," Yusei said. He looked around and soon spotted Antinomy.

"Maybe we can talk about this after the battle," said Hinoka.

Ryoma and Xander were giving out commands to their siblings. They also noticed Antinomy and his bizarre Duel Runner.

"Yeah, we should take care of this first," Yusei said.

"Ok!" nodded Crow as he rejoined the battle.

"My, there's more of these creatures than I thought..." sighed Camilla as she chopped some with her axe.

"So, you don't know anything about them either?" Radley frowned. He had hoped if they were from the same place they would.

"No silly man. Of course not. They just suddenly appeared one day out of the blue," stated Camilla.

"And then fell into our world with you," Crow said.

"Yes, that's right," nodded Camilla.

"Seems like we fought off most the robots here," said Corrin.

"Good," Antinomy said.

"Perhaps we should take some of their part for study," suggested Kalin.

Yusei was already doing just that.

"Did you figure out why we were sent here, to Earth?" asked Leon.

"No idea," Antinomy said. "Could someone from your world have opened portals?"

"But who would that? Unless they had a grudge against our new allegiance," grumbled Hinoka.

"What new allegiance?" Radley asked. That could be important.

"Hoshido and Nohr used to be bitter enemies with one another," began Corrin.

"What made them decide to form an alliance?" Radley asked.

"My father was going insane each and every day," sighed Xander. "We wanted to find the truth behind his madness."

And did you find a solution?" Yusei asked.

"Yes. Turns out he, King Garon, was possessed by a dragon," replied Xander.

"Yikes," Radley said.

"That sounds like something that could happen here!" Scotch said.

"How so?" asked Ryoma.

"This conflict reminds me of New Domino City and Satellite," added Kalin

"People get possessed by weird things here too!" Scotch said.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Takumi.

"Just that!" Scotch said. "People get possessed by monsters or by the darkness or other creepy things!"

Kalin felt a bit uneasy when Scotch said that. Radley winced.

"So, do you think a dragon is controlling the robots?" asked Leo.

"It's probably a person," Antinomy said.

"Only a very powerful sage has the skill to do such a thing," said Leon.

"I wonder if Carly and Akiza saw anything strange," said Luna.

"Robots are tech, though, not magic!" Scotch said.

"They might seem like magic to some," Radley mused.

"The way things are going? Probably," Crow said.

"Then we have to go see them!" yelled Jack.

"This tech you speak of is quite fascinating though," said Ryoma.

"Yeah, tech is awesome!" Scotch said.

Akiza answered. "Yusei? Is that you?"

Yeah. Are you okay, Akiza?" Yusei asked.

"Yes, I am. Though the news reports have been saying robots have been appearing out of portals and attacking the City."

"They are. We're dealing with a lot of them. Some people who came out of portals have been helping us," Yusei said.

"People came out of the portals? What do they look like?" asked Akiza in confusion.

"Just like regular people. Their world seems to be a different time period, though…." Yusei said.

"A different time period? May I see them?" asked Akiza.

Meanwhile, Corri, Ryoma, and Xander were looking at the remains of one of the robots.

Yusei moved so they were visible in the holographic transmission. "Here they are."

Scotch watched them looking. "Figure anything out?!"

Akiza gasped when she saw them.

"Oh my! There's so many of them!"

"This technology is impressive," spoke Ryoma. "To have the ability to open portals to other worlds, we must take one back for study."

"There really are," Yusei said.

"You think it's the robots opening the portals?" Radley asked.

"Carly and I will meet you at your house, alright?" said Akiza.

"Perhaps," said Ryoma bluntly.

"We're at the stadium right now," Yusei said.

"That would be epic!" Scotch said.

"Ok, we're heading there now," said Akiza.

"Okay," Yusei said.

Ryoma turned to Antinomy. "Pardon me, but what is your name?"

"Antinomy," he said.

"Antinomy, I overheard your friends say you are a talented mechanic. Shall we analyze these machines together?" asked Ryoma.

"Yes, let's see what we can come up with," Antinomy said.

Just then, Akiza and Carly arrived at the stadium. When they saw the people from the past, their jaws dropped.

"Whoa! Look at those guys!" exclaimed Carly.

"Hi," Radley greeted. "Yeah, this is really something, isn't it?"

"They're all dressed up in costumes!" said Carly. "Just in time for Halloween!"

"I beg your pardon?" asked Xander.

"It's not costumes to them," Radley said with a wince.

"Oh, they're not?" asked Carly in disappointment.

"Err, these are our normal attire," shrugged Xander. "Apologies if we ruined your festive spirit, ma'am."

"You're welcome to join in our festivities, if you're still here then," Radley smiled.

Xander thought hard and smiled back. "I don't see why not. It doesn't hurt to learn new things."

Yusei smiled too. So they were siblings.

"Hey, Ryoma, Antinomy, learn anything about the robots yet?" asked Takumi impatiently.

"I don't see anything strange so far," Antinomy said.

"Hmm, that's not good..." muttered Ryoma.

"Perhaps I can take a look?" asked Leon.

"Sure, go ahead," Antinomy said.

Leon went through the robot when his time Brynhidr started to react. He pulled out a crystal from the scrap.

"Hmm, well, what do we have here? A crystal?" he pondered.

"Does that power it?!" Scotch eagerly wondered.

"Most likely," nodded Leon.

"Excellent find, Leon!" smiled Xander.

"Now we should analyze its properties to find out how it works," Antinomy said.

"Let's go back to Yusei's house," said Akiza.

"I'll lead everyone there," Yusei said.

"Can your home fit all of us?" asked Hinoka.

"We might have to be outside," Yusei said.

"Our group is pretty big, I admit," said Kalin.

"Especially now," Yusei said.

"Is your house like your hangout?" asked Elise.

"Pretty much," Yusei said.

Leon took out the crystal he pulled from the robot. "Let's have a look at this crystal."

"Once we're there," Yusei said.

"So this is your home?" asked Ryoma.

"My, looks cozy," giggled Camilla.

"It is," Yusei smiled.

Leon set the crystal down on the table so everyone could see it clearer.

"I wonder if it's worth anything," Virgil said.

"Allow us mages to analyze it," said Leon. He, Sakura, and Elise started casting a spell on it.

Radley just folded his arms and watched.

The rest of the team stood by with anticipation. Finally, Sakura's eyes opened in shock.

"What is it?!" Scotch exclaimed.

"Fairy magic," replied Sakura.

"Aren't fairies good?" Billy blinked.

"Not always," Virgil said.

"We have fairies in our homeland of Nohr," stated Elise.

"But we don't know how they got a hold of your technology," finished Camilla.

"Probably magic and portals and stuff," Scotch said.

"How are we supposed to find this fairy?" asked Luna.

"Do we need to find the fairy to figure out their tech?" Scotch blinked. "Can't we figure it out ourselves?"

"If it's magic, I'm not sure," Radley said.

"Maybe if we keep holding onto it, the fairy will eventually come to us," suggested Akiza.

"There's a crystal in each robot," Antinomy said. "Would they be that concerned about one missing one?"

"You're right. We probably need to prepare to fight more," frowned Corrin.

"Yeah, let's beat all the robots!" Scotch said.

"Yeah!" cheered Takumi.

"Hold on, we need to know where they are first," said Kalin.

"I might be able to use this crystal to track other crystals," Antinomy said.

"Go for it, Bruno!" cheered Leo.

"Bruno? Who is he?" asked Hinoka.

"That's me. I have two names," Antinomy said.

"Two names? That's... interesting," said Hinoka.

"That reminds me of Xander! I swear he's two different people!" exclaimed Elise.

"It's a long story," Antinomy said.

"Yeah? How so?" Scotch asked.

"He's nice to us and smiles. But on the battlefield? He's scary!" replied Elise.

"Elise...please focus on the task at hand..." sighed Xander.

"That sounds like Kalin too!" Scotch said.

"Uh...I suppose..." shrugged Kalin.

"Find anything new, Bruno?" asked Crow.

"I think I've wired it to find the other crystals!" Antinomy said.

"Excellent work," smiled Ryoma.

"Great. Let's try it out," Radley said.

"Very well, Antinomy, please proceed," nodded Xander.

Antinomy headed down the street with it. Everyone else followed him. Antinomy soon found more robots.

"How many of those things are there?" asked Jack.

"I guess we'll find out," Yusei said.
