Your breath of life
I feel your warmth
Like a sunshine on a rock
Sin by sin
You're innocent
But who am I to trust?
While they shared death and life into that kiss, Naru has been pulled into that abandoned church's interior, the old hiding place of her beloved general. As the rough tongue tasted hers, the girl's senses numbed, her body almost bended down. Naru thought she would faint, then a light upon her eyes restored her awareness. Every colors and images on the stained- glass windows shimmered over them, painting both like a sacred panel. Foggy blue eyes reflected nothing, the greenish mirrored them inside. Nephrite, cringing his decayed state, furrowed the brows and evaded her gaze.
Tender hands cupped his cheeks, Naru kissed his whole face, leaving a trail of her love upon every inch of spectral skin. One kiss from her, a sigh flew through him. If his heart still pulsed, it would skip. If blood still ran inside his veins, he would have blushed. Desperate to feel more, Nephrite squeezed her arms, her back, her thin waist. His teeth rubbed on the soft, young flesh. He bit the pinkish cheeks, then sucked the sensitive neck, stealing from her some moans and shivers. Signs of life. Life that was feeding him.
He rested her body over one of the long, wooden benches. Lying upon his dearest lass, Nephrite touched his ear on her chest and delighted himself with the sounds of palpitations. Naru felt conflicted between nervousness, shyness and fear. Paralyzed, the only thing she managed to do was to look at the ceiling dome.
Finally the stellar night arrived, the sun went to sleep and Nephrite awoke completely. Darkness made him bright, the milky skin twinkled like made of moon. So handsome as a fallen angel. For instants Naru wondered if it would be wrong feeling attracted to a being from another plane. The thought didn't last much, she didn't allowed it so, for they had just that day, and then God knows when they would meet again.
"I have always loved you..." In ecstasy, she confessed. "And I think I will always do, no matter how many time passes." The declaration sounded like an unburdening. His cold index finger wiped a tear recently formed on her eye. Nephrite took the drop to his mouth to prove it's salty taste. Each piece of Naru worked like a stimulus to him. She was life itself. "Will this pain ever subside?" Another tear came, this one escaped from his reach and poured down. She put a hand over her aching heart, trying to contain the throbbing inside.
"I would give all of me to prevent you to suffer..." His nose tip brushed on hers, once more they shared breaths. In a certain way, the air Nephrite expelled felt like a solace to Naru.
"Will I be able to diminish this evil somehow, even if only for one night?" He closed his eyes while wondering.
"One night is enough to make me happy!" She found the needed strength to smile, and was rewarded with another kiss.
I don't know how to turn this page
Make life revive, someday it ends
Can we be lovers in the light?
Savouring Naru's sweetness and youth, Nephrite took her innocent lips between his tongue and teeth. His hands ran over the curves of her waist and climbed her belly, moving under her uniform, yearning to feel more of the girl, to enjoy forbidden sensations in his eternal slumber. In voluptuous touches over her softness, he ran from darkness while she just drowned deep into it. One longed for life, the other longed for death. Deep inside, both just wished the same: a place where they could be together for real.
Her hands, starving for having from the general what they never could, went down his back, not caring about the poor state of his clothes, neither with his skin's temperature. As much nonchalant Nephrite used to be, the low groans his throat emitted made Naru understand how her caresses were being appreciated. Kissing her neck, he slid his hands upon her thighs, knees, then put down the white socks along with her shoes. Ceremony wasn't a habit for a deceased man, Nephrite made it clear. So, he opened Naru's legs and suspended her dark-blue skirt and removed it. She didn't know how to react, her blood never ran this fast into her veins before, Nephrite's fingers felt like drawing ways across her skin. A mix of admiration and envy overflowed from his features.
"You're perfect, Naru..." Nephrite made their noses meet again, stealing a bit of her air. Then he induced her to sit, suspended her arms and slowly took her sailor shirt off, tossing the piece over the floor carelessly.
Naru, frozen in place, looked at him in disbelief. Modesty was her barrier, no doubt. Not the simple modesty of a virgin girl, but of a living girl, Nephrite knew it and still he decided to take the risk. So, the materialized ghost knelt before her like a prayer and pulled the old, teared shirt off. The young lass shivered while seeing his bare upper body, not for it's ivory whiteness, but for the scar which came from his shoulder and ended on his chest. She landed a hand over her mouth and restrained a lamenting moan, it pained her profoundly to contemplate such dreadful mark that stole her dear Masato's time.
"Does it hurt still?" After taking a deep breath, Naru asked. She leaned down cautiously and touched the scar, it's skin was rigid and had a light purple shade.
He shook his head. Stern, Nephrite got up and walked ahead, reaching the abandoned altar. There he waited the girl to come to his encounter. In slow steps she followed his lead. Clumsily, his adored living human tried to raise the fallen straps of her light-blue bra. Nephrite held her wrists though, then effortlessly reached the clasp and opened it, freeing her from that piece of lacy cloth. Naru's face got completely red, yet she didn't struggle to cover her naked intimate parts. As much as that sounded wrong, she wished to go on with all the intensity of her spirit.
"I feel..." He said, while contouring her arms with his fingertips.
"What?" Taken by torpor, she sealed the eyelids, surrendering to every sensation.
"Life." Nephrite whispered into her ear, then he laid Naru's body over the altar where his phantasmic hands finished to undress her. There laid his saint, his deity, over a mahogany table, totally uncovered, waiting for him. Dark blue eyes rolled upon every delicate shape, anxious to drink from her innocence's fountain till drying the one last drop.
The sweet Naru stroked his chest, his shoulders and then, in a gesture that surprised him, she laid a kiss on his deadly scar. Nephrite never felt such huge comfort in his whole existence. Seeing him almost melting while feeling sheltered, lightly less cold than a minute ago, she kissed that stretched piece of skin again, lingering her lips on the mark. Her mouth dragged upon the purplish ravaged flesh, making of him a bit more alive without realizing it.
Relaxed, the general lowered his head and his long hair fell like a curtain, darkening the maiden's sight. The only thing she could see was the calm semblance of the man who she had just one night to be together.
"Nephrite," she uttered his name, wanting his eyes opened just to be certain that he still had a little breath of life inside. "Please don't close your eyes." Naru asked tenderly. "Make me forget, even for a brief moment, that you have gone." Before tears could drown her, the living-dead man complied and more, he finished to undress so they would be in the same condition. His cold front touched her heated one, sealing an encounter they never thought being able to cherish.
"You know, Naru, I never left your side..." Staring at the girl, Nephrite told.
"So why didn't you show up in the past Halloweens?"
"I was afraid." He kissed her chin, then went down, trailing a wet path with the tip of his tongue on her neck, shoulders and collarbones. "I was afraid you would walk away from me." His face rested between her rounded breasts as the general resumed to concentrate his attention on the intense heartbeats. " I believed I was fated to watch you in silence for all the years of your life. Therefore, I made myself present the whole time, yet without making a fuss." Azure pools returned to meet the green. "I was the oscillating light in your room, the interference sounds in your television..." He took her hand and left a cold kiss on it's back. "A bursting street lamp..." He smiled. "Till I find courage, make an effort and, today, I achieved to manifest to you." His body bended, fitted between her tremulous legs.
I am cursed to live forever
I'm alive enough to sense you
Why I am hiding?
Are we only dying?
Though frightened, Naru shyly retrieved his smile with another. As much bizarre the whole situation was, if Nephrite had shown himself in the past she knew her happiness would overcome any fear.
She tried to prove that dread, denial, both wouldn't be stronger than love. Her trembling legs lowered over the altar, spread over dark hardwood. Her fingers slid upon his back. The spiritual body weighted upon hers, hands of winter left bruises while pressing her thighs. The greatest wish of feeling made him spread kisses on every corner of her body which showed any sign of pulsation. Demised thin lips ran over her breasts and sucked their sweet essence, then a thirsty tongue swirled down her belly, reached her honey pot and savoured the sugary juices. She sighed and panted, from her mouth vapor came out, her skin shivered, tears fell down upon the altar like drops of holy water.
He didn't stop.
An icy ardency consumed Naru from inside. It was him getting inside her door.
Was that even possible? The alive green eyes widened. She listened his deep, lamenting groan as if it was echoing into her mind. His brown locks brushed against her bosom while the general was coming down, melding himself inside of her. Naru held his face, looking deeply into his foggy eyes to be sure that was happening for real.
It pained, it teared, it burned even being so cold. Her nails sunk in the cadaverous skin, not a trace of a scratch remained though. As their lips got close, Nephrite exhaled and Naru swallowed his breath. Between her legs, two tenuous threads of blood spilled. Matter was invading her, matter was consuming her. Matter of the immaterial.
I am cursed to love in darkness
I'm alive enough to touch you
Why am I breathing?
Am I only dying
To crumble into dust?
Naru's cry reverberated and made the stained glasses shake. How could the pain feel so pleasurable and fearful at the same time? She wrapped him between her arms and legs, sticking her lips on his shoulder. Suddenly, the church was illuminated, white candles were burning by Nephrite's will. He wanted her mortal eyes to capture perfectly every instant of their deliverance. Through the long windows, macabre winds howled a Requiem. Naru's frantic heart accused fear even if her mouth didn't dare to mention it. The girl turned her face, biting her lower lip, restraining her voice while Nephrite intensely moved inside of her.
And then, he stopped, resting into her depths. At first, there was just silence, then came her lonely crying, for Nephrite had no tear to shed.
"I am sorry, Naru..." He whispered, stroking her cheekbone.
"No, it's alright..." She answered tenderly, between one or two sobs.
"You are afraid." The general brushed his mouth on her sensitive ear. "I can feel it..."
"I am not!" Naru whined.
"You're lying..." He chuckled, as an experienced liar, he knew all the gimmicks well. His hands climbed her legs, squeezing the thighs, and then one of them jointed to her womanhood. Naru crumbled and melted like butter. That has been wrong, yet surprisingly delicious.
Why am I thriving?
Why am I denying?
Why am I longing?
"Don't stop..." She pleaded, tangling locks of opaque chocolate hair between her fingers, laying a hand on his chilly nape. "Let me feel it please!" Naru sobbed as his skilled touches increased her heat. "While I still can!"
They gasped together, once again sharing the air. To feel was his greatest desire, maybe bigger than hers. At that point, Nephrite was also shuddering. So, he caught her hands firmly, stretching her arms above her head. Their bodies attached, pressed against one another and this time, he got inside of her in a single thrust. Naru's voice echoed all around that forsaken sanctuary, the poor girl screamed all her yearnings out and the saints would hide their ashamed faces if they could. Outside, the veil of stars was shining bright, inside the church supernatural rays flashed.
The dead general proceeded trying to regain life while taking the school girl's body voraciously, shoving inside her clenching cave while releasing wild grunts. So violent were his movements that Naru's back was hitting against the mahogany, it's skin got tiny purplish bruises in consequence, yet her lust was bigger than the ache. Waves of passion engulfed them both, Nephrite wanted to experience every symptom of life she had to share.
He succeeded.
While profaning the fallen maiden, Nephrite stimulated her tumid bud with one hand, caressing her intimate gem exquisitely, and the delicate body responded with it's spasms. The cold turned into hot chills at last, Naru came undone under Nephrite's forms, possessed by the deepest orgasm.
Nephrite went on ravaging her channel, lifting her body from the altar just to corner the girl against a marble wall. Then, he made his lovely prey fold the legs around his waist and insisted on overtaking her essence. Their fingers vanished under ginger and brunette locks as they madly pressed themselves into the arms of each other, like two beasts, desperate lovers. And what more could they be?
Feel me! He yearned, and made her do so.
I feel the blow to turn around
Make love revive just one more time
Can we be creatures of the night?
Again and again, excessively, he got in and out, loving her, hurting her, inducing Naru to reach the peak repetitively for her and also him. He wasn't satisfied though, on the contrary, the more she screamed, shuddered and got lost into pleasure, hungrier he became. And his haunting desire provoked alterations not only in Naru's organism, but also in the whole ambient. The benches untouched the ground, candle lights danced agitatedly, the gravity was oscillating and the girl's body felt lighter than a feather.
Her virginal blood dyed his funereal whiteness, in the scarlet liquid pain and cum were blended. Gradually, Naru was growing weaker and soon could collapse, it was the moment to stop. Nephrite sheltered her into his arms, she burned. Hands met one more time, mixing winter and spring.
"I feel so sleepy..." Naru struggled to keep her eyes opened.
"I'll take you home." Nephrite rested her flustered face on his chest. In a last attempt she tried to hear his heart, nothingness was the sound.
Nephrite was dead to life, alive to eternity. Nothing could change such fact, and still:
"I love you, Masato-sama..." A sad whisper concluded, then she fell asleep.
"My Naru..." He sighed one of his last breaths. The ravished purple shirt reappeared over his forms, as the greyish pants recovered his legs. Nephrite dressed Naru patiently. Carrying the unconscious girl, he walked through illuminated noisy streets, blending among people in costumes and other ghosts which were concealed between the living without causing any alarm.
He reached Naru's neighborhood and thought of leaving her at the front door, but had a change of mind, choosing to hover to her room, there the ghost left the girl, comfortably lying upon the bed, covered by a soft duvet, safe from any harm, including from himself very soon.
He glanced at the little alarm clock on the bedside table and noted that soon it's hands would be marking midnight.
The calendars would change from 31 to November 1st, his time was coming to an end.
Before leaving, Nephrite sat by her side and contoured the shapes of her young pretty face, rising her chin, bidding farewell with a kiss. As soon as the big old clock in the living room chimed twelve times, Nephrite turned into the shadow that he was and hid himself in the dark, lurking quietly.
It wasn't Halloween anymore.
I am cursed to love in darkness
I'm alive enough to touch you
Why am I breathing?
Am I only dying
To crumble into dust?
On the next day, Naru didn't manage to go to school. A persistent pain has prevented her to get up, it felt like every muscle of her body has turned into stone, so stiffened and hard they were. On the bright side, the illness saved the girl from dealing with a lecture from her mother after going missing for hours, it spared her of listening questions like "how did you get to your room" for example.
It took at least a week to Naru recollect every remembrance of what she has experienced on Halloween, at first everything felt like a complex dream, till she got used to the unique reality. However, even after recovering her memory, the girl decided to keep that intimate moment as a secret.
Months passed by, life regained it's routine. Bit by bit, she gave up on waiting for a message coming from beyond, or that a light would blink. Naru didn't need signs to prove Nephrite was there, watching over her somehow, cornering her as if she was a defenseless lamb – which she was, and loved to be.
One fine day Naru woke up and received a welcomed new: it was Halloween again! She wasn't a school girl anymore, but a young woman who helped her mother, working in the jewelry store. Her orange locks has grown, reaching inches down her shoulders and she dressed like an adult.
"Would you like to take this one?" Naru asked to the client, showing a beautiful sapphire necklace in the showcase.
"This is just what I've been looking for!" The woman smiled excitedly. When her hands reached the jewel one of the chandelier's light bursted suddenly, not even being on. "Oh, my god!" The client screamed hysterically and dropped the necklace on the floor. "What a fright!" Then she giggled clumsily. "Sorry for that."
Smiling, Naru lowered and picked the precious piece from the ground. Behind the woman she was attending, on the front window, a shadow emerged. Her heart sounded skipping into his spectral ears.
After ending the work, Naru didn't wait to rush to the old forsaken church. There was Nephrite, just like the other time, standing at the door, awaiting.
She has grown mature, he looked the same.
They embraced, kissed each other, then repeated the sinful ritual they had performed before. And then, the same cycle has been fulfilled in the following years, on every Halloween of Naru's life. Everytime they met, something about her looked different. After all, the time that didn't pass for him was running to her, into his beloved ward the brevity of life was beheld and how it delighted Nephrite!
So Naru could live the love she dreamed of this way. If it was a forbidden, decayed way of love, it mattered not. Life and death were concepts she has learned to let go soon enough. For everyone is fated to the same end at last, some just are lucky enough to delay it a little longer.
Are we only dying?
Crumble into dust
Love decay
Love decay...
The end.
So, this is it! I hope you have enjoyed my attempt of a gothic tale (something alike).
This story of souls wandering among us on Halloween is old, comes from the pagan culture, and has been absorbed by Christians in time. Once Halloween was called Samhain, and then became "All hallows eve", and finally it received the name everyone knows today. :D
